781  Other / Meta / Re: @theymos: Are you working on the live server? Please let us (me) know on: July 30, 2018, 05:13:32 PM
Is this one of your troll attempts? Theymos never works on the live server without warnings. Either this never happened or the most likely case would be your session got crashed for some reason.

Do you think this project could be something you could be interested in?

Nah, I will pass. Remember how the Silkroad ended? Don't want to be that guy. I am too afraid to mess up with the big brothers out there Cheesy. But you can ask in the marketplace section for help. I am sure you will find a developer or two who might be interested in this. Also, I will suggest you to make a whitepaper for this first. Publish it on GitHub and if this project is lucky/worthy enough. It will find Developers who will make it a reality. Good Luck.

You want to make a private torrent tracker on blockchain that's the gist of your idea. From what I think it can work. A tracker which will never go offline but who will profit off from this so-called "Decentralised Project"? Usually, the owner gets all the revenue generated from the user who buys their quota bundles, So, in this case, will the people who host these torrents get all the revenue or are you planning to get a cut from it?

And what sort of help are you looking for? Do you need developers for this project or do you need investors for this?
785  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The Bear may be good for us on: July 30, 2018, 12:45:09 PM
Some idiots even dare to blame Bitcoin for that due to the firmly correlated price action. It's not Bitcoin's problem that altcoins don't move without Bitcoin guiding them. If altcoins can't move on their own they are shit.

Definitely. People don't understand that ~75% of the value altcoins currently have is donated to them by Bitcoin due to their tie.

People also don't understand that without Bitcoin's tie there is no way to value an altoin or token. Tokens are priced in Ether, which is based on Ether's value against Bitcoin. It's impossible to value an altcoin or token without people comparing its relative value to Bitcoin in order to determine whether or not it's expensive or not expensive. All the spoiled altcoin brats should show a little more respect to big daddy Bitcoin.

Exactly that's why most of ICOs use the USD value to show the value of their tokens and shy away from BTC and ETH values on their websites. While BTC and ETH move up, so does their USD value while their BTC or ETH value may have declined. It's a shady behaviour but almost all of them get away while doing this.
786  Other / Meta / Re: Tips to increase the chances of your post being merited on: July 30, 2018, 12:04:20 PM
OP this tool isn't anything new

And boom, another thread about merit lol    Tongue  Roll Eyes
This thread is less about merits than it is a blatant advertisement for grammarly.

Is "punctuational" an actual word?  Never heard that one before.  In college once, I was on videotape as making up the word "dissolvage".  Don't know how I came up with that one, but it's something that's embarrassed me ever since.  Does grammarly catch such word mutations?

LOL!!! Busted! I don't know why do people want to sound like white people. People need to understand this that It's perfectly fine to use the Limited vocabulary they have. Instead of making a mess by using plugins like grammarly, you will at least make some sense. smdh!

Sarcasm, that's what gets you merit!

SHHHH!!! I thought you will keep this a secret.  Cry
787  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Just got scammed by a "Legendary" member ! on: July 30, 2018, 11:29:47 AM
As far as I know, the value of account Legendary is greater than $150. Why could he do that?
He was already neg trusted. No one is going to buy a red account (most only do this to join signature campaigns, and 99% of them don't accept neg trusted users).

Also, Legendary accounts are not worth $150. It's probably WAY more (even now that you need 1000 merits)

A legendary with negative trust was way less than $150 before the merit was introduced, I believe it was stingers lucky day that he got a deal of $150 for a $50 account at max.

It makes them look weak and hypocritical, and that weakens their perceived authority.

I don't think so, as subcontinent is prone to dirty politics these 180 degrees turns hardly make a dent. Also, The majority of These countries have lower Education standard, They see roads and parks as development and the work of their politicians, they hardly care about what government policies are.

That is where Silicon Valley season 6 will be made? Oh no bollywood invasion hehehe.

Lmao xDD, I don't know how pied piper will adjust to that. Imagine Season 6 being directed by an Indian. I can't even imagine the dramatic effects the season will have... xD

But also, there are the corrupt bank executives. They do not want competition on their money laundering and tax evasion services that they provide for the politicians, the criminals and the elite. Bitcoin will break that monopoly, I reckon.

I kinda disagree, most of the politicians are businessmen, they can easily get away by setting up Offshore companies. They don't need the banks as much I reckon. But I do agree with the threat bitcoin posses to the banking system.

There was also someone in the forum who mentioned that the government does not want the average joe to have some money laundering abilities through bitcoin.

Isn't this what every government wants?
789  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-07-27] Google Play Officially Bans Cryptocurrency Miners on: July 30, 2018, 09:05:27 AM
I'm seeing too many people attempting to frame this as negative news for Bitcoin.  It's good news.  This is only going to affect altcoins and creators of malware who steal processing power from unassuming device owners.  The average person might become more receptive to crypto if nefarious people weren't constantly trying to get them to install apps that slow down their phones and tablets.

My question is why is google not willing to put in the manual work required to separate malware from the real thing? If I search for a mining app I know exactly what I am looking for, Google doesn't have to make the decision for me whether its harmful for my device or not. From what I believe is Google percieves cryptos as some sort of threat to it and Google likes to automate things which in these apps require a manual checkup.

Ok, to be honest I am still pondering the relevance ofbthat to this thread. Does anyone know, apart from it being spammy or are we having a belated anniversary for Michael?

Mind going through a few pages of the thread before getting to a conclusion?

It's the classic MJ "eating popcorn while enjoying the show" animated gif...

Basically, "Gyrsur" has been trolling Darkstar_ and the chipmixer campaign for quite a while now... it all started when he theorised that Darkstar_ might be enrolling alts in the campaign because he could not understand why certain users were chosen over others to participate in the campaign.

He's had a chip on his shoulder ever since (if you'll excuse the pun)...

Thekool1s, is obviously enjoying the banter... and the popcorn Wink

Thank you! Smiley

792  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-07-28] Bitcoin Mining News: Brookstone to Build Wind Farm in Morocco on: July 29, 2018, 06:31:29 PM
Mostly miners in China can literally call for what kind of profits they want to see. Do you really think when the institutional money starts to flow in, Miners won't be able to charge higher than they demand right now?

Miner have been selling their mint at premiums for years. People think they are dumping them on exchanges, but that's false for the most part. It makes no sense to sell something for spot value when you can get 25%'ish above spot by selling to private buyers. We see $8000 as current price, for larger miners it's more like $10,000 per Bitcoin. In other words, the premiums that miners charge are baked in already.

You can't just ask 50% over spot value because your margins are starting to get very tight, private buyers will either decline on the offer or get their coins from other OTC sellers. The coins other OTC sellers offer aren't virgin, but hey, how much does that matter if it saves you a considerable amount of money?

Hmm, I didn't know about that. This is a very interesting chapter in itself. But this proves my point that mining will always be profitable till the end times of mining i.e the last block. There will always be a buyer who is willing to pay the premium.

We can't assume that anything has been done because there have been similar cases where funds have mislead potential investors by tricking them into thinking that legally everything has been set up, while later turns out that nothing has been set up at all. It could very well be that they are waiting for actual capital to come in, and then start up the legal process. We can't take anything for granted here.

True but we don't follow a rule of guilty until proven innocent.

The difficulty doesn't make the price go up. It's price up difficulty up. If the difficulty is going up but the price not, miners (mostly the smaller ones) will eventually pull back their gear and the difficulty will drop.

True but the stage at which BTC is in, it does. Mostly miners in China can literally call for what kind of profits they want to see. Do you really think when the institutional money starts to flow in, Miners won't be able to charge higher than they demand right now?

Quote
If you can generate your own energy conveniently, it could always be somewhat profitable, but if you depend on external energy suppliers you can't endlessly mine profit. In that case there is a base price you can't get under.

There will always be a country to mine in. Like in India it costs 0.08$ KWH. Unless there is a total ban on cryptos and they lose a significant percentage of their value, Mining won't be unprofitable.
794  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Looking for a developer to have it also as my partner on: July 29, 2018, 01:15:59 PM
All developers interested in partnership contact me please . I have an idea, i need a developer to build it and im offering partnership into this.

How to contact to you?

By messaging him, and to OP mind sharing your idea publicly? It will save you time, explaining the same thing over and over again isn't efficient. BTW hit me up with your idea. I have few developers on my team who may be able to help ya out.

The Russian government went through the same nonsense, but they were making different rules for different divisions in their government.

Agreed, But this is a country where the next "silicon valley" is being made. I don't think they are unfamiliar with the tech which they are dealing with. The issue is more than just a piece of tech. If they approve it they are technically allowing the politicians to theft easily which is a huge issue in these developing countries. IMO it's the matter of how deep the money runs. If the Indian judges are bought/sold then we can expect a approval for the cryptos else there is a slim chance of getting the green signal.
796  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-07-25] India’s Supreme Court Postpones Verdict on Cryptocurrency Ban Again on: July 29, 2018, 10:24:58 AM
Listen, guys, I have studied the subcontinent closely. The problem subcontinent suffers from is corruption. To hide their corruption Bitcoin and other cryptos are a perfect tool for them, But the main issue here is that these countries are suffering from low tax revenues which is devaluing their currencies. If they approve cryptos/Bitcoin that means the majority of IT sector will start using it for payments which in return will mean even less tax revenue for the governments, which may lead to hyperinflation and collapse of these currencies. Cryptos won't get a green light anytime soon, especially from the subcontinent that's a reality. Pakistan and Bangladesh may follow what India decides.

Do you guys really think that supreme court will approve a piece of tech which is extremely harmful to its currency? Being optimistic is a good thing but let's be real for a moment.
797  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-07-28] Bitcoin Mining News: Brookstone to Build Wind Farm in Morocco on: July 29, 2018, 07:42:15 AM
All of this is just an idea still.

Brookstone Partners is raising capital in order to start building this wind farm, which will take a considerable amount of time. By the time they finally have managed to build the farm (which is by no means a guarantee that it will happen) the difficulty has gone up a lot already, which will eat away a lot of their profits, and then what? Investors have high expectations and thus expect proper returns, because that's why they invest in this industry in the first place.

An idea is worth a buck, for the effort, nothing more.

I kinda disagree, Wind farms can be set up quite fast if the land and pre-planning has been done, which I think so has been done in this case. It will take around a year to get it up and running, The Difficulty rise will also make the BTC price to rise too. I believe mining will always remain profitable as more efficient hardware will come along the way and profit to cost ratio will always stay Positive till the last coin is mined.
798  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Start-up registration (pre money stage) - big question "Where"? on: July 28, 2018, 03:10:57 PM
Tech (mvp, whitepaper, real team) start-up with 4 devs in 3 countries working decentrally, with a marketing representative in a 4th country.
None funding is secured.
Where to register and whether such registration is needed? (they do ask for it in LinkedIn company profile)
There is no money to incorporate in popular places like singapore, switzerland etc and no money for serious legal counsel.
I have thougt of:
1)virtual office address
2)the above+UK ltd formation (cheap and quick)
3)using coworking places address
4)using incubator/accelerator address (off the wall idea)
if you know the ropes, please could you share the wisdom.
Much appreciated.

You should look into Estonia's E-Residency program. Its what most of these ICOs use I believe. Please Don't fake an address. It will only harm you in the long run. Checkout this website for more information: https://e-resident.gov.ee/
799  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Order pizza with bitcoins on: July 27, 2018, 11:36:19 AM
Does this really belong in the serious discussion section? xDD It's more of a news. OP mind moving the topic? Also I wouldn't trust a website without any SSL certificates to share my address for a mere pizza. I believe services like these don't add much to the community. What's there stopping me to exchange my BTCs and order the pizza myself? I don't have to pay that small premium which the website is asking to make sure they profit from my exchange.
