Sad news for the Nets, although they already know that Irving is not willing to stay, at least Irving should be traded with a superstar that could help Durant still make the Nets a playoff contender. Now that no more Irving, I'm pretty sure in the NBA Championship odds, Nets odds will also drop just like other teams that has a little chance of winning a championship.

I'm curious about how Dallas would create a good chemistry to make Luka and Kyrie blend perfectly.

I believe the Brooklyn Nets are aiming for something here that would be good for the team in the next few years and the bad news is, they will be suffering right now because they had to pay some consequence before the next big thing happens to them. Nothing special about the Nets now especially that Durant is still injured and won't be playing for the next few weeks.

But for the Luka and Kyrie chemistry, that will take time to marinate but I guess they won't be having some struggles because Kyrie already knew right from the start that Luka is the main man and he can adapt the role easily.

Here's my bet for tomorrow, Cleveland Cavaliers -2.0 vs Washington Wizards. Goodluck!

Good thing with Magsayo if he will win his fight against Figueroa and Vargas will step down again and face Magsayo for possible title match, money wise it will give Magsayo decent amount of profits, but first he needs to take care of Figueroa and make sure that he will be ready for Vargas if he decided to go back and negotiate for the possible fight.

Future will be much better for them as they've got that chance to make money with the fans who wanted to see how those fighters will perform.

I love to see that Magsayo will be taking his revenge to a fighter that had beaten him. This fight is his best chance though, he is fighting a good fighter so if he wins this, it only imply that he had learn from his mistakes and have made adjustments to make himself a better fighter.

Vargas vs Magsayo II, that's a good title, and everyone will be interested watching to know if Magsayo will successfully take his revenge, who knows? we might see a trilogy if he wins.

Same here, I believe he can still make a difference against Vargas and will get his revenge by taking the belt again on Vargas's possession. But that's still a long way for now because even if Magsayo got some decent chance over Figueroa, we still can't underestimate him that easily because just like Magsayo, the man got skills.

27 more points for LeBron in the Lakers loss tonight against the Pelicans. This puts him on pace to easily break the scoring record on Thursday against the Bucks on TNT. It seemed a little obvious that this was what was going to happen and at this point he would need a monster game against the Thunder or probably an injury to keep it from happening. Keep your Thursday night free. It will most likely be LeBron’s historic evening.

No mate, LeBron James is now 36 points away from breaking Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's record.
Here is the live points tracker: https://www.espn.com/espn/feature/story/_/id/34584960/when-lebron-james-break-nba-career-points-record

That would probably happen in their next game versus the Oklahoma City Thunders and not against the Milwaukee Bucks. The only thing keeping LeBron from breaking the record with the Thunders is if he will suddenly acquire a minor injury that would need a full day rest. Anyway, this is indeed a historic event not just for the Los Angeles Lakers but for the whole league as well and the last time I heard about the seats was they were selling at $92,000.
844  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 05, 2023, 03:16:56 PM
I'm a bit curious about the line of Denver vs Timberwolves. Can anyone explain why Denver is only -1.5 knowing how good they are and the Wolves are struggling? I get that they are into a back-to-back game, but as long as Jokic will not rest, I think they will likely dominate the Wolves.

And also, Jokic will not have a  heavy load carrying the team because they have Murray who fill the points stats already.

The Nuggets just released their forecasted line-up and injury report for the game versus the Timberwolves tomorrow, and I found out that their report contains the same when they faced the Hawks earlier today. But there's a change on the handicap because they are now +2.5 while the Wolves is now the favorite to win by the bookies.

If you want to bet on this one, just do a live betting mate to minimize your risk or if you don't have time to watch the game then it's better to skip it because Jokic and Gordon is probable.
845  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Artur Beterbiev vs Anthony Yarde on: February 04, 2023, 08:37:58 PM
This what really separate the champions for the rest of those challengers, they know how to level up their performance if they know that they might be behind in the fight. And as the fight goes on, Yarde is fading while Beterbiev is getting stronger and punches are harder. That's why when he hit Yarde, who is already tiring, the toll on his was great and he went down. And then Beterbiev pouncing his prey for another knock down and the corner can't take it anymore seeing Yarde getting more damage.

I read about the conclusion of the fight, not everything was so clear, at the time the fight was stopped, according to the records of two judges, the Briton was in the lead, but Biterbiev decided not to be satisfied with dubious refereeing decisions. ) Who knows, I read the opinion of experts, some of them think that if the fight lasted all the rounds, then perhaps the judges could even give the victory to Yarda (but this is just an assumption).

Could've if ever the fight will be on the hands of the judges, but judging their fight before it was stopped, Yarde was already having some troubles breathing and he's somehow wasted already as if he can't keep up with Beterbiev anymore. So, there's a big chance that Beterbiev will score a KO victory and not a TKO. Yarde was just lucky because his team are already keeping an eye for him, even if it hurts for them to do it, they have to just to save Yarde from further injury from receiving Beterbiev's vicious punch as the champion was just starting to get heated.
846  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: February 04, 2023, 06:55:27 PM
So, have they finally been able to decide on the location of the match or are they keeping it a surprise or something?  I have not been able to get a straight answer ever since I first heard about the Davis vs Garcia match. And lets be honest, its been a long time coming, so I would not be surprised if all these secretive stuff is just another marketing tactic before the actual match.

I am pretty sure the match will be in Las Vegas but which stadium?

So far no news yet as to what stadium, but as I have said 3 possibilities right now for the promoter to get which one will fit all the fans. Yes, it will be in Las Vegas for sure, gambling + sports betting = huge revenue for them.

I don't think this is going to be a secret, marketing starts with the boxers themselves and how they can sell the fights to their fans.

But so far the hype is there so no matter which venues they pick, fans are willing to pay and watch it live.

Exactly, no matter what venue in the US, this fight will certainly attract a huge crowd because it'll be the first big fight this year. Everyone will be watching this, whether in the venue or the live streaming, so basically, making money is easy for the promoters since he has both undefeated champs who are both popular to the fans.

No doubt, this fight has been hyped for more than a year or two already and has been marinated throughout the time when both camps are still exchanging spicy words, and that certainly means that since then, they are already marketing the fight to see if it can attract and move a huge crowd to watch their fight. That is also why I understand that the organizers are looking for the most suitable venue to maximize their cut and to cater more audience that is willing to watch the said bout live.
847  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 04, 2023, 06:30:50 PM
If that doesn't impress you as an NBA fan then maybe you aren't a NBA fan at all. There is also an interview where Lebron really wants to be a pass-first guy, but that changes overtime.

As far as solid LeBron James critics are concerned, they will always have a counter-statement to that.

And I believed, the most counter-statement on that would be "LBJ is playing in a soft era where scoring is easy" not realizing that LBJ even experienced the tough defense in the 2000s. If I'm not mistaken (please correct me on this), it was just around 2010 onwards that the talk about NBA being soft started but can we blame the players today if scoring is really that easy?

Aside from that, what a crap for me that others say that LeBron is just chasing scoring now instead of winning. What a damn argument. If you are a player that has already been at the peak of a career and at least already built a good legacy and is almost close to achieving something hard to bear, of course, you will pursue it. While LBJ is doing attempts at scoring, it's impossible that he doesn't want to win. Referring to his stats this season, I would say it's balanced and not focusing only on scoring.

Not a pure LeBron fan just to be clear but just appreciate the greatness. Open for criticism lol.

Awesome point mate and yes, you're correct about the fact that King James indeed also experienced how hard it is and challenging the game was in the 2000s because even if we're saying that the game in 2000s are still softer than the game back in 1990s. I mean, everybody could argue about that but the question is, how would they prove it? There's nothing to be done because the respective stars got drafted and had their primes in different eras.

And about the statement that he's more focused in chasing the golden record than focusing on winning games is definitely not true at all. We both know here that any given player in the league is still prioritizing their wins over records as there would be no legacy if it's all about losing. And those scores will still generate and grow, and eventually, he can break the record in his own time and phase.
848  Economy / Economics / Re: When your passive income equals or slightly above your salary, what would you do on: February 03, 2023, 08:57:59 PM

I have been in a job I detested and although I somehow managed to stay at it for up to 4 years, I didn't even for once let go of my passionate hobby and other passive streams of income I was interested in at the time.
Today, one of my passive interests pays more than my salary. My mind has been yearning for a resignation, but opinions of others and family bears the message of patience with the job I so much detest for reasons ranging from inflation to fear of the unknown.

If you were in my shoes, what would be the best advice you would give yourself and adhere to in this instance?

Personally, I would not leave my present job as easy as that knowing I’m a breadwinner but I will always go in search for a new job that will develop my full potentials and that will be of my high interest. That way, my finances will never be in trouble whenever I have to settle for my new job. And to think that I have another job that gives passive income, I will surely have more of it as long as my free time can cater it and as long as my productivity is still there.
849  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A reminder to all new Bitcoin investors on: February 03, 2023, 08:29:03 PM
Most at times the news circulating around you might gives you a misrepresentation of the latest happening. But what really matters is the ability for you to understand, compare and comprehend it intensively before diving into whatever its. The above said images can not either replace any of those things, rather can only serves as a means of improvement over the usability to facilitate human operation and needs. Typical example is bitcoin, for instance it was created for a purpose to serve as an alternative means of payment, and today it have been accomplished. Although other altcoin promised largely to replaced bitcoin and yet today I can't find any that even tends to function as bitcoin talking less of replacing bitcoin entirely.
Some may misinterpret, but some will eventually agree on it since they know exactly that changes are inevitable especially if the said changes will bring out positivity. It’s all about how those people actually understand it and grasp the idea as to how it will be beneficial for most of us. Just like bitcoin, everyone has attacked it in its first year but when people slowly understand the reason of it’s existence and how it brings freedom for us, then we eventually start liking it next to fiat.
850  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Charitable Casinos on: February 03, 2023, 07:59:43 PM
Have you played in a charitable casino or will you consider doing it?
If the charity casino were a crypto casino, I would consider playing there as a portion of the casino's earnings would go to the people who need it. I think this can attract people's interest in giving to charity, even though they play gambling first before giving it. Even if they lose, the money will be donated by the casino to needy people, so we shouldn't be sad. And that is a positive activity that casinos can do so that people who play there know that their money will be distributed to places that are needed. But maybe some don't want to play in such charity casinos because they think it is something different.
Even if it’s not a crypto casino, I would never hesitate to bet on it as long as it’s a licensed and a reputable casino. Because the fact that the casino’s share will also proceed to helping people in need, for me that is a relieve especially if I made consistent losses from that casino. But of course, I would never gamble just to lose, but most likely to make personal profits too. At least, I’m having fun and I’m also gaining rewards from it.
851  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What could have Satoshi faced if he made himself known from the beginning on: February 03, 2023, 07:45:08 PM
For sure he/she would already taken by government or someone has a bad intention on him. There are a lot of negative aspects if he  reveal his identity before that is why he is very smart to not disclosed any information as it is not only his life would be affected also with his relatives and it was catastrophe on them. I am just also curious right now if the possibility that he is just lurking here in the forum or how old si he now and what he is doing. But where ever satoshi was I am thankful of him
Threats would be waiting for Satoshi if he made himself known from the beginning. Not just from the people who want to take advantage on him, but most likely the government which is very triggered by his own invention that made fiat right now in a negative shape, making bitcoin the top favorite of crypto enthusiasts. But I believe he’d known already that this is going to happen that’s why he chose to stay away from spotlight. Otherwise, he might not be living at peace and satisfaction right now.
852  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A fortunate story of a crypto mentor on: February 03, 2023, 05:00:49 PM
The "invest only what you are willing to lose" thing" only applies if you're just a normie investor in my opinion. If you've done investing so much and you're already experienced enough to make smart decisions, investing money that you don't want to lose is totally fine — you just don't need to over-invest to the point that you'll end up being homeless if you lose.
This has a good point. It’s not all the time that we should only invest what we can afford to lose, because if that’s our basis, our portfolio will not grow and we will not be making huge profits after all. So instead, we should invest but must take calculated risk. Otherwise, if we continue all in investing without even gaining good returns even at once, we will surely be homeless in the end. But for a complete novice here, only invest on the amount you can afford to lose.
853  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Miss Universe 2023 betting. on: February 02, 2023, 09:52:51 PM
There has been a massive change in how the contest works, and what they are looking for in a contestant. It's definitely different than in the 90s and before where the only thing that mattered was how the women look.

Now they add a lot of geopolitical stuff, and many other things, that might not be related to beauty.

It's a private contest so they can do anything they want, but I guess that's also why it's not so popular these days.

Like I said earlier, in a beauty contest, the primary metric should be "beauty".

I don't have any concern, in case they want to keep other metrics such as political orientation and communication skills, but these should be supplementary. When you have ugly looking winners selected as Miss Universe, just because of the so called "geopolitical concerns", then the contest itself loses its relevance. And this is the exact reason for declining popularity of this contest. I don't expect any changes to the competition format or scoring, as the organizers remain adamant about imposing their political views on others. So in the long term, this competition will become redundant and obsolete.

This competition has never been important or meaningful. And the fading of its popularity (in fact it is only a decrease in the ecosystem of such contests) is a consequence of global trends. Now everyone can enjoy the beauty that he personally likes - with the help of Instagram, onlyfans or even neural networks. There is no point in watching some outdated contest.
Well, it has been giving high relevance way back then but I think as time goes by, it’s slowly losing its essence as Ms Universe has somehow become rigged already and that probably those winners are not that deserving having that certain title. I know this is all about beauty and brain, but seems nowadays the essence of beauty has gone already, only the brain now that matters the most which for me I totally disagree as both beauty and brain should be constantly present.
854  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My son, daughter, nephew wants to know about Bitcoin on: February 02, 2023, 08:21:45 PM
Moreover, another important thing is that in my country cryptocurrency i.e. Bitcoin is a completely government banned currency. So should we teach our children about the banned currency?
So you live where bitcoin isnt allowed to be used. Anyway as long as you can understand and learn bitcoin, there is no problem. Im just curious that they banned bitcoin inspite of heavily adoption going on. You could still teach them anyway, maybe the ban isnt forever and your government will realize later on that its still worth to utilize blockchain for finance and payment protocols.
Banning could only be temporary who knows so it’s still good to teach those young children about cryptocurrency knowing it won’t be hard for you to teach them anyway since their interest and crypto learning experience increase day by day. But i just hope that you can also teach the children that even if they already have crypto investments in the future, it’s still more reliable if they can get a real stable job first that can give them main income and consider crypto jobs or investments as side hustles. That way, they will come to understand to have multi sources of income as long as they are capable on doing it.
855  Economy / Economics / Re: How to thrive with low income in a humble area on: February 01, 2023, 09:59:11 PM
* Don't forget to spend only a teeny tiny of money on wants, and only buy wants when you have a budget oversupply. Needs first — always.

* Increase your income. Saving can do so much.
Focus on your needs. That’s the most important so you sustain living your life without getting into debt. Buy only your wants if you think you already can afford it, as you have spare money to spend for it. And for you not to suffer with the increasing prices brought by inflation, then manage your free time and get some extra sources of income that will make use your own talents and skills. I guess that’s not hard to realize as long as you have goals to achieve, and you have set the plans on how to achieve them.
856  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: January 30, 2023, 08:15:11 PM
But let's see first what the first fight will bring, maybe it could be just one sided and end in less than 10 rounds and someone getting his ass knock out for good that he doesn't want to have a rematch.

In that case then there's no trilogy anymore, maybe a rematch but I'm sure it will have the same outcome since the first fight was already obvious it's just a one-sided fight. If they'll make a controversial decision in the first fight like what happened to Wilder vs Fury fight where the first fight was declared as a draw, then there are still 2 fights where Fury has dominated the KO artist.

That is if one of them wanted this fight to make controversial and give this fight a draw without any unspoken words, but I guess not. I mean, I'd understand if Ryan Garcia will say yes for a draw because GBP is his promoter and that's a good way to make decent big money into their first bout but Tank Davis? I don't think so. Tank got pride and won't say yes for things like these as I think his next stop will be the undisputed boxer.
857  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Nonito Donaire vs Jason Moloney on: January 30, 2023, 07:53:31 PM
Nonito the Filipino flash Donaire will came back to the and fight Jason Moloney as we all know how this fighter hadle his opponent during the fight day. Maloney is one of the best fighter and also he has a big advantage as we all know that Donaire is getting Older . But I think Donaire will prove that he can play and win by his age he can still be a champion. For me in this fight Ill choose Donaire to win the match ad Donaire has many experience

It can be a close matchup since you mentioned that Maloney is also a top rank fighter. The advantage might be a good experienced
that Donaire earned from all those past fights he has.

We can give our decent opinion, but the outcome will be the final say if who will win and will
take the vacant belt that Inoue left, more on good preparations both physical and mental
as we know, boxing is not just a game of power but also a good mindset to execute your
fighting strategy the right way.

There's a quote that goes, "hard work beats talent if talent doesn't work hard".

So it's really not all about muscles and power because there will always that someone who will be much prepared than you, so it's really not good to be complacent just because you had a good advantage over the other and experience will always speak the most. Well it seems that both Donaire and Moloney got the experience needed, it will be now a battle of mindset and to see which is which and yes, I reckon that this will be a good close bout.

There are rumors that Crawford will sign a contract with Golden Boy

https://twitter.com/OscarDeLaHoya/status/1619484337682157568/photo/1

Is this a good move from Crawford himself? Will Oscar Dela Hoya will able to work with PBC and Al Haymon to bring the biggest fight that we all have been waiting for?

Hopefully this will be the case, specially for Crawford who really wanted to get this fight. And Spence can't hide or duck anymore because that's one stumbling block in their first negotiations. Now there are someone more experience to talk in behalf of Crawford.

Well, it's indeed much better for Crawford to get his name under a promotional banner that has influence rather than pushing his luck while flying solo because his odds to get a championship fight is certainly low and only an influential promoter can grant him that kind of fight. Unless, if the boxer himself already have a strong ties within the industry and we know that Crawford doesn't have that one.

But if Crawford can choose, I think it's probably much better for him to sign under DAZN because I believe Hearn is more influential than the GBP these days.
859  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 30, 2023, 05:01:37 PM
The issue with that referee is beyond my comprehension. However, that was a truly poor call. Anyhow, I believe penalties are also handed out to referees, likely by their own NBA referees association. Obviously, bad calls have obvious consequences. Punishments maybe less games are officiated by referees with poor reputations. We have never heard of suspensions or even expulsions from the NBA because they are not reported in the media.
I found what happened to be unusual. In the past, I have become accustomed to reading, hearing, and seeing controversial decisions that are always in favor of the Lakers. When it comes to biased refereeing, they have the most memes out of all NBA teams.
The management will certainly do something about it as it has already affected the reputation of the league, they don't want to make people think that the league is rigged, so in order to retain that confidence, they will certainly make a serious penalty to the referees who miss calling a foul on that clear foul.
There are already plenty of speculation in the past that refs are manipulating the game, if you are familiar with Tim Donaghy, you will understand that NBA is not clean.

No sports body is actually clean in the world. There are certain types of corruption going on almost everywhere. And it is very easy to think that the referee had some type of money on the line in this match. That's why they made a call like that. But the honest thing is it has already happened and I do not think there is anything that can be done about it. I just hope that there will be a big penalty for the referees so that no one who will officiate any game in NBA is not going to think about doing anything like this.

regards

duke

The head ref admitted they missed a call, however, it was not stated if he was penalized for the huge mistake he did.
NBA head referee admits missed call in Lakers-Celtics game

It's a lesson learned that they have to do their job well, I understand that they are not perfect but you know how upset the Lakers especially Lebron who could have that winning shot.

Is that suppose to satisfy the fans especially the Lakers? I mean, it's still unjustified if the league will not do something just because these refs who made a bad call is now making an apology in the public and admits that they had bad call in that crucial second. These kind of scenarios are risky and it will be crazy once it will happen in the upcoming playoffs especially in the Finals.
860  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: January 30, 2023, 10:12:54 AM

That would be the nearest scenario for them to make the trilogy into a reality, that is if there will be a draw in their first bout but that's highly unlikely considering that both of them is a knockout artist and neither one of them is also willing to make the fight draw or take a defeat, by the looks of it, Ryan Garcia especially Tank Davis wanted a one-sided fight so that they can move-on towards other boxers.

Both wanted a one side beating, so that it will be over and the winner gets the respect and the bragging rights. But who knows, if they move to 140 lbs maybe they will have to fight again in the future. They are still very young and maybe 5+ years still in their career so a lot of things can happen.

And with that youth on their side, I agree that we might not need a rematch after all. They will go at it, and try to score a knock out win. With that, majority of us knows that this might not last 12 rounds.

BGP is quite wise for thinking that this could be another trilogy in the history that will collect hundreds of millions of revenues combined, but he shouldn't forget that the boxers involved in this bout are still young enough for this trilogy. What they need is a good beating to keep their names floating in hype and their values will increased as well. And I agree, this will not last long enough.
