841  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Lockdown restrictions increased to reduce the spread of immunity. on: July 31, 2020, 11:55:07 AM

70-80 % of people have to get the Coronavirus for herd immunity to be effective, right? That means that there are going to be a massive increase in the amount of hospitalizations, infections, deaths, and so on and so forth.

CDC estimated 40 percent to 70 percent required to reach herd immunity. If you recall the protests on George Floyd/BLM, some areas didn't see increases in COVID-19. In NYC, an antibody study revealed that some communities, primarily communities with POC, had some instances where 68 percent of people tested who were from these communities had antibodies. This helped to paint a picture on why close proximity protests didn't create massive spikes in cases in NY. Herd immunity was the reason. Another hispanic community had a 35 percent positivity rate for antibodies in Brooklyn.

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/07/09/nyregion/nyc-coronavirus-antibodies.html

We're closer to herd immunity in some places than people think.

what you actually find is that in 'white privilege' areas the number was 13%. they said overall the populous was ~26%
and that is in the city of the high epicentre of the epidemic..
other states had far far far lower numbers than 26%

so dont even try to make a small case study of 68% and 56% in certain area's to assume that its near that number overall everywhere

also the POC protesting george floyd did actually socially distance and stay home if sick during protests.
however if you look at the area's in like ohio. which were stupid. the case number went up

heck NY even done some 'bicycle' protests which is even safer.. yet other states done vandalism moshpit style protests

the places that did not do peaceful protests. and did not do it responsibly, going out even when they sick. got affected more
the only times NY done aggressive cluster protests they did not keep going out every day for a month.
yet other states were out most days for a month and using the protests for socialising upclose while trying to argue about their civil liberties are being quashed

kinda funny how your not showing places like ohio case increase knowing all the news of ohio stupid protest methods
Would you prefer one set of rules on lockdown, masks and distancing for an entire country, or as in the US, for it to be let to each state?
842  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Guns - Why do we need them? on: July 31, 2020, 11:41:23 AM

[...] Right now, the majority of the people who have guns are meant to kill each other. The world is changing but the humans doesn't, the history will repeat itself and for sure there will be another war that will happen because of the guns and ammos.

Yes, I agree with you! from what I see, The guns can change the person who holds it, most of the holders become pretentious and as if he can threaten and make others afraid of him.

It might sound naive, but, I think civilians should not need and are not allowed to have guns.

I have never, once seen that happen.

@ eddie13

moving would work.
I would move, but  wife is not ready to do it.

I have all my family and my wife's family in NJ,NY,CT.

I did live in San Francisco, San Diego, and Los Angeles.

I have a few USN buddies on the west coast so moving is a possibility. I would think Oregon or Washington could work for us.

If trump gets re-elected moving is on the agenda as air will get worse here in North East.

Interesting problem, where to move. I started out with a recommendation and then read this article and decided I don't know so much.

https://www.webmd.com/asthma/features/asthma-and-cities-which-cities-ran-best

Be very cautious when considering a move because of your asthma symptoms. Remember, there's no best city for asthma. If you're determined, Bernstein recommends that you try living in the new location for a few months before permanently uprooting yourself.

Oh, by the way. There's no politics to Asthma, never will be.

Guns! A wonderful piece of engineering....The biggest problem with guns is when in the wrong hands. Else, knifes even does as much damage.
Why don't we just regress to spears? There should be no need for stone or iron edge, they can just be whittled down to a point and hardened by putting them over the fire. They work pretty good to stop enemies. Well unless you run into someone with a gun.
845  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Lockdown restrictions increased to reduce the spread of immunity. on: July 30, 2020, 11:03:52 PM
....

70-80 % of people have to get the Coronavirus for herd immunity to be effective, right? That means that there are going to be a massive increase in the amount of hospitalizations, infections, deaths, and so on and so forth.

Even in the most conservative estimates of hospitalizations, with 70% of the population getting it, you'd still be overflowing hospitals and having some people dying solely due to the overflow.
...

I don't believe I'm seeing very effective use of masks on the streets, so let's see where that leads.

Assuming 10% already have immunity, then to get 60% more over 12 weeks say with 1 week sickness each person...

For a million people that's 600,000/12 = 50k. If 1/3 require hospitalization, then that's 17k in the hospital per 1M people. Obviously, that's not happening.

But I'm not seeing effective mask use, so what gives?

Obviously one of the numerical parameters is wrong or the calculation is wrong.

Long-term use of face-masks is dangerous to health. And they are not being used at all to achieve Covid protection. Here is what they are being used for. Watch the video.

Dr Sherri Tenpenny - FACE MASKS ARE NOT EFFECTIVE AGAINST COVID-19: HOW MASKS ARE BEING USED

American Osteopathic Physician

Dr Sherri Tenpenny, is the American osteopathic medical doctor, researcher and author.

She has invested 20 years, and over 40,000 hours, researching, documenting and exposing the complex issues of vaccine development, testing and distribution.

As an internationally renowned speaker and author, her articles have been translated into over 12 languages.

Dr. Tenpenny has worked as an Emergency Medicine physician and were Director of a Level 2 Trauma centre for over a decade.

She now runs her own medical centre, providing an integrated approach to health, which has attracted patients from 50 states and 17 countries, with the doctrine "the body can heal itself".

In our first conversation on London Real in May, we discussed vaccine legislation, testing and distribution. In this episode we're going deeper on masks and why they won't protect you, contact tracing, and the psychological damage of social distancing.

Cool

Let's see what Wikipedia has to say about Dr. Sherri Tenpenny.

Sherri Tenpenny is an American osteopathic physician and anti-vaccination activist who supports the discredited hypothesis that vaccines cause autism.[1] She is the author of four books opposing vaccination, and her 2015 lecture tour of Australia was cancelled due to a public outcry over her views on vaccination, which go against the established scientific consensus. She has no advanced clinical or research specialization in immunology, vaccinology, or public health, nor has she ever published peer-reviewed research in any area related to vaccines or immunology.

hmm....

So for me, I wouldn't exclude that this was also one of the superior American military inventions that defied the laws of physics known to us.

High accereration / high speed / rapid speed changes does NOT "defy the laws of physics." It may not be achievable with our rockets and aircraft, of course.

DOD did not admit that we are being visited by beings from a different planet/solar system/galaxy

DOD admit they cant identify an object because they have crap camera's that are blurry even at just 2x zoom
an unidentified object is not the same as claiming beings from a different planet
...

A FLIR tracking system is not intended to provide high quality visual resolution, and they are very good cameras. But FLIR.
848  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Donald Trump is asking for a delay of the election. Should we do it? on: July 30, 2020, 08:03:15 PM
Implies congress could do it.

Only within a very narrow window of about 4-6 weeks because the inauguration couldn't be postponed without a constitutional amendment (my understanding anyway) so that's what - mid-December latest for the election? Gets very tight on time later than that.

I doubt Trump had any of that in mind though. He just blurted something out that sounded good to him.

Well, it gives all the fine Democrats something to talk about other than the fine young innocent and peaceful protesters of Antifa

Why haven't you guys commented on my cod filet that emitted blue light in the dark?
This is natural, a mutation to emit ultraviolet light to protect itself and you against COVID. You may find yourself also glowing blue at night, but don't worry.

You should look up his theory of "nano thermite" being cast into the World Trade Towers concrete during the tower construction back in 1976, so that they could be BLOWN UP whenever the DEVIOUS FORCES decided to. It's a mythical compound, of course, but this gives him a platform to expound on with a subject.

Stephen Jones and a fellow researcher proved the existence of nano-thermite.

Cool

Wow, was that right? I heard they found chips of red paint, and made themselves look totally ridiculous trying to embellish the story into a magical mystical compound.

But on the subject of COVID, you're going to be RIGHTER, Right? Righter than on your nana-thermite-cast-into-WTC concrete in 1976, waiting ... waiting ... waiting ...

Isn't it true that most of what we are opinionated about comes to us at least second hand? So, what does it matter what you believe? ....

Cool
I got some news for you.

Research is not YouTube.

As others have noted, you do shun reliable sources and you favor quack sites. I do like the fictional concept of the magical mystery nano-thermite being cast into the WTC and detonated decades later. How many other structures have this built in time bomb? Could it be that a COVID-exosome mutation actually caused the exosome-derived-nano-thermite accumulation in the world trade towers?

....

What I mean is, I am right regarding both of them, Covid and 9/11, because I am relying on the reports.

....
No you are not right, and you believe whackos "reports".
851  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Lockdown restrictions increased to reduce the spread of immunity. on: July 30, 2020, 04:12:58 PM
How are they going to find people who haven't had contact with the virus for vaccination? ....

Maybe the jackbooted stormtroopers could be put to work on this job. I hear they have not had much work lately, and they too have families to support.

For a while it looked like Antifa would hire them, but they found aging, derelict Occupy protestors living in storm sewers who would riot for almost nothing, just enough to buy some drink and weed.

Then it seemed like the stormtroopers could get work defending federal buildings against Antifa violent operations, but no....

So that's my suggestion. Squads of them going house to house searching.

So I heard a clip today that Donald Trump thinks we should delay the election.

Should we do the delay.

I thought about it and find I can come up with multiple

answers.

With multiple reasons to delay or not delay.

Please answer poll and post what you think.

To all non americans it would be the first presidential  election delay in the Usa 🇺🇸.

New York had a local election delay due to 911 so election delays have happened for local elections.

I voted that it depends on the length of the delay.

I would be fine with a delay of six months or less.

No delay, and no paper ballots due to COVID.

There is no way you can avoid contact with the virus. You may reduce it, but you can't avoid it. ....
I don't bother with any of these faddy concepts, but I do take some basic precautions. For example, I look both ways before crossing a busy road...

Very astute. The COVID might be coming from either direction.

People have an inalienable, undeniable, right to bear arms. This has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not their mammy can protect them, else they also have the same right to die for that belief.

That's it, literally it. Because you exist, you have every right to bear arms and deal with the consequences.

True, but seldom codified in a Bill of Rights, such as in the USA.

Let me spell it out for you. It's difficult enough getting a few astronauts to the moon. Why would you ever think America went to the moon?
Cool
Now that's a fabulously non answer of an answer. Yes or do, did American put six spacecraft carrying twelve men on the Moon between 1969 and 1971?

...you didn't seem satisfied with my last answer, so are you really asking me again?....

One more time. Here is your question. It's simple and it's not scary at all.

Yes or do, did American put six spacecraft carrying twelve men on the Moon between 1969 and 1971?

I don't think you are accurate.

Let me break it down for you. Blocking the road. Illegal. Blocking the road while using loaded fire arms to menace and intimidate drivers. Illegal. Pointing a loaded firearm at some one not engaged in hostilities against you or others? Very illegal. That's called assault with a deadly weapon illegal. The simple fact that the PERPETRATOR (not the victim) raised his rifle at the driver, gave the driver 100% of the legal requisite he needed to use lethal force to end that man's life, end. Victims are people who are acted upon illegally b y other bad actors. This dead guy was the perpetrator, not the victim. You keep defending violent murdering terrorists and casting them as poor victims threatening people with assault rifles and stopping traffic.

In summary, the man with the rifle is the perpetrator and committed all the crimes he needed to in order to firmly put himself int he offender category instead of the victim category you are so desperate to hide him behind. How does it feel to be on the side of murdering terrorists? I wonder how long it will be until they attack your own family.

I would like to add something here, that this is a much clearer case than the one where the car on the blocked off freeway slammed into the protesters.

Pointing a gun at someone is, in the absence of just cause, "brandishing a firearm." It's considered a serious crime, for several reasons. Where I live it's a felony offense. One is that someone may take it seriously and shoot the one waving the gun around. That appears to be what happened here.

Note this happened in liberal Austin, Texas. But liberal Texas ain't liberal New York.

PS:  The exchange of gunfire is definitely five shots, then three.

860  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 'Trump Designates Antifa "A Terrorist Organization"' on: July 28, 2020, 03:27:27 PM
....In May and early June there were a lot of people at the various protests who wanted to actually protest (even if under dubious circumstances), and there were some agitators who were causing a lot of violence. This was the opportunity for Democrats to condemn the violence.

BLM tried political violence in September 2016, but it was too late in the election season to have a major effect and the Governor was able to quickly stop it with the National guard. This election season, BLM started the political violence too early. They were able to bully people into a ~70% approval rating, but will eventually face strong backlash with violence levels not seen since the civil war. The left wing media is not going to be able to hide the violence forever.

I wonder how people can afford to "protest" for two months straight.

We're way, way past George Floyd "protests."
