881  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Anyone out there doing money by trading? How? on: January 20, 2023, 09:16:08 PM
The more I learn I am kind of coming to conclusion that trading in the long run is not profitable. I mean I don't know any single person who is doing decent amount of money for living by trading in crypto. Hence the question: do you know anyone who is successful trading in crypto? or are you doing well by trading crypto?
I have known a lot of successful traders in the forum but I don’t think they want to expose their names. And I would say personally, I have made significant profits from trading but do not expect that it will always be profitable because trading outcomes alone can even be uncertain. That is why if you aim to be successful in trading, do not consider it as a main source of living, have your main source of income and just consider trading as a side hustle.
882  Economy / Economics / Re: Another Boom for the crypto market. on: January 20, 2023, 08:55:07 PM
With governmental authorisation, Binance can now provide cryptocurrency services in Poland.

I think it's great that the worldwide community is supporting the cryptocurrency industry, this is a significant boost, and I think more nations will follow the present global trend.

https://www.binance.com/en/blog/ecosystem/binance-moves-forward-with-local-development-and-regulatory-compliance-in-poland-1233996135851733478
With the fast expansion of Binance, people will also come to realize it that crypto is here for good so why not make use of it than to focus on fiat alone when in fact it’s value is now seen depreciating. And maybe Poland has also seen this coming that’s why they give their full support for Binance so it can provide best services in their own country. Polish people will also benefit crypto and Binance in the long run.
883  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: i am a housewife want to invest in bitcoin on: January 20, 2023, 07:29:59 PM
hello everyone,, I am a housewife who wants to join this forum and ask for your help, so that you can guide and advise me, especially in terms of investing in bitcoin.

as I said above that I am a housewife. and I plan to invest in bitcoin.
and I want to invest in bitcoin using the money in my piggy bank, because if I have money left over from shopping that my husband gives me, I always put it in my piggy bank.

but what makes me want to invest in bitcoin is because,, if you put it in a piggy bank for a long time I think it will be affected by inflation.
so in my opinion if my invest in bitcoin, of course it will have good potential for the future. but I will ask everyone,

is it too late to invest in bitcoin?
because I saw on the internet that bitcoin is currently experiencing an increase.

and whether my decision is right or not, to invest in bitcoin?

please guide for all the friends in this forum?
Bitcoin is phenomenal, so it’s a must investment for all of us. One is not late or early, as long as you know what you are doing and you have faith in bitcoin. However, investing in bitcoin has its own risk. You should be knowledgeable on bitcoin first, its background and its history, so you will know what steps to take when you are already investing and hodling bitcoin. But one piece of advice, only invest what you can afford to lose as bitcoin cannot guarantee profits all the time. Expect that there will be initial losses, and maybe probable gains in the future if you are already good enough.
884  Economy / Economics / Re: We are not out of the woods yet on: January 20, 2023, 06:56:57 PM
The strongest crypto holders out there have not given up and will not give up because they have been through the worst in the past. Until now, they can still survive, accumulate bitcoins and some potential altcoins, and wait for market reversal. They still believe that the crypto market will return to provide big profits for them so that they are still able to survive.

And even though the negative waves will still come, they will persist in achieving their goals, and so will we, who will continue to survive. Perhaps, this year or next is a good one for crypto, so we can see the market recover.
There is no giving up to continue to hold bitcoin even in the worst conditions. That's what I always keep in my mind about this bitcoin. I firmly believe we will be seeing new ATHs again in the future, and it is time for us to continue collecting bitcoins with the money we have put aside for it.
It will be different for beginners, yes of course they are scared because they lack experience in dealing with a bear market like this, it is our job to provide motivation and tell stories about events in the past that are almost the same as now and show how bitcoin can recover from bear times like this .
If you have the faith in bitcoin and you know it will never disappoint you in the long run, obviously you will continue to take the risk and hold it even if there are big crashes that will happen in the market. Because the bearish market is also part of the cycle, then we can’t expect that crypto market is not just all about bullish season and making profits, it’s also a time of testing your faith and mostly lose in the making so you will know if you can still survive in a bear market or you’ll just end up quitting and lose everything you have started.
885  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Giving bitcoin awareness for easy adoption in my locality on: January 19, 2023, 11:06:26 PM
I hope you succeed introducing all these retail merchants to bitcoin. There are many potential adopters there, as I can see.

As I understood your bank forbade using credit card for international transactions, so you can't import goods anymore. Then your friend contacted the foreigner supplier and he answered that bitcoin payments are accepted. Is that correct?

If so it's already great news. You just have to make sure this supplier is a trustful businessman, but to import goods through Bitcoin can be a great idea and a great way to introduce all those merchants immediately!
This is another great step for bitcoin indeed. With this, when this transaction succeeds, it will lead to open  for more bigger transactions in the future with the use of bitcoin. As long as both partners can be trusted, because obviously the risk of scamming is still high, then bitcoin awareness will increase even to other local merchants.
886  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to overcome the link between Beginners and Bitcoin Anxiety. on: January 19, 2023, 09:56:42 PM
The list is quite long but the only way to overcome anxiety is to fully know beforehand that what you are getting into is volatile. So expect volatility! There are some who would be surprised to see Bitcoin's volatility and would even panic upon seeing their portfolio's value casually dropping double digits. Why, didn't you know before you bought that Bitcoin is volatile? What were you expecting, that Bitcoin's price would just soar non-stop without ever correcting or reacting to news, FUD, and other factors?

It's probably premature entry that causes all this anxiety.
You have a good point. Stay informed and you will never get lost and experience bitcoin anxiety in the process. Being knowledgeable and you completely understand the basics in bitcoin will make you get rid of bitcoin anxiety. Although not totally get rid of it, but at least you know how to avoid it because you’re fully aware that bitcoin is always volatile and it’s price will always be affected whatever big news that hit the market, so always be prepared for it and never expect that bitcoin will always stay being bullish.
887  Economy / Economics / Re: Does a side job/business improve your finanical stability ? on: January 18, 2023, 09:58:39 PM

To make a living, we must work. In uncertain days like now facing the global economic downturn, a stable job with high income becomes a scarcity. A side job or business seems like more necessary than ever, which can minimize the risks of losing your current job, ending up pennyless. However, a side job/business also takes time and efforts and can never be attained whenever we need it. What did you do or will you do in order to ensure your finanical stability despite all unfavorable circumstances ?
Side jobs will always be advantage for us because it creates additional income for us especially if we are also doing great aside from our main job. Though it may also get some of our free time, but I think once we see the results and become profitable, I think that reason alone gives us satisfaction. Although it would be hard in the beginning, but as long as we can manage our time and develop our skills into it, being financially stable in the long run will always be possible.
888  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 17, 2023, 05:11:05 PM
Either way, the Lakers should call a timeout and nothing else. That was around 10 secs. left and lots of time to make a good play.
The Lakers are down by 1 and no one from the coaching staff even advises their players to call a timeout. They blew that opportunity and chances to win the game. I don't know why they thought that time and didn't decide to call a timeout.
I want the close game though that both teams managed to perform where there are lots of exchange of score leads happened.
Maybe that is due to the inexperience of the coach and his staff. But Lebron was also in the court, he could have called the time out himself since he is the most veteran player in there. Anyway, if they called a time out, they can set up an offense but the defense of Philly will also set up. Maxey and other defenders will be on court and it may be harder to execute.
Now, I really doubt the capabilities of the Lakers coaching staff. It is not yet playoffs and they are not able to make the proper calls already. That is too bad.

It seems as though the coaching staff of the Lakers has no idea what they are supposed to be doing. There are times when you look at the coaches and wonder what they are thinking. They are able to make decisions and feel as if they have a plan in place. However, that is not the case with the Los Angeles Lakers. In my opinion, the coaching staff of the Lakers looks like they are just doing things and hoping for the best.

He is doing that is right in his view, but the strategy just failed, so we are like blaming him for a long decision making. However, this regular season still has more games to be played, I'm sure if he will continously fail the management and the fans, then we cannot expect him to still do the job next season. Right now, the Lakers are in a bad spot, well, there's always an excuse, and that is Davis being unhealthy to play.

The Lakers cannot just honestly hide with the Anthony Davis excuse because they had it coming and they literally knew right from the start that he just cannot play with most of the games this season because he's so prone with injuries. They keep on holding what happened in the bubble where Davis and LeBron brought another championship to the Lakers, they should accept that they need rebuilding sooner or later after this season.
889  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 17, 2023, 04:46:36 PM
Moving on again!  Cheesy
Washington Wizards - Golden State Warriors - Golden State Warriors (-3.5)
Charlotte Hornets - Boston Celtics - Boston Celtics (-8.5)
Milwaukee Bucks - Indiana Pacers - Milwaukee Bucks (-10.5)
Good luck everyone.
That's it for me. Perfect win. After 2 bad days, I got it all back in one sweep.
Games started early, I was just able to watch the Warriors game. Thankfully, Poole and Curry did what they are best at to close the game on a good 9 points advantage.

2 more games to go. Do you guys think the Lakers can win this one?
3rd losing streak for LA and 10th for Rockets. LA as the favorite with a -5.5 handicap to get @1.97.

For those thinking the Grizzlies will win, now may be the good time to catch the live bet. Suns 31 - Grizzlies - 22

Wow! I'm so happy for you, at last you got it all perfectly and all of the bets you took are the favorites too.  Gotta give you some credits for betting with the Bucks -10.5 without Giannis on the hardwood because that took some courage to give a handicap like that.

Anyway, it was a last minute change because if I'm not wrong, Giannis was just listed probable last night or few hours before the game commenced. Congratulations again @danherbias07. I'll tail you next time Grin
890  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: January 16, 2023, 06:36:59 PM
Here's what I found when I was browsing Spence's request to the WBA to contest the fight at 154 pounds.

Quote
It’s highly unlikely Spence (28-0, 22 KOs) will bother come back down to 147 and get filleted by Boots & Crawford. Spence isn’t another General McArthur who once said, “I will return.”
Spence isn’t returning to 147 after he faces Thurman at 154 because there’s too much risk involved at welterweight, and he’s not about to want to deal with all the danger, especially if he’s drained.
Source

I think this is the most desperate move that I witnessed in the whole history of boxing industry. Errol Spence Jr. and Al Haymon was really too desperate to get themselves out of the welterweight just to maintain Spence's value and record. Also, the governing bodies shouldn't just agree with their request to make the Thurman-Spence fight at 154 lbs. because their image will be scathed as it looks to the public that they are eating their words that they said in the previous months.

If I were Thurman, I wouldn't take this fight because it's not what I wanted in the first place as there will be no belts on the line.
891  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: January 16, 2023, 04:22:34 PM
I'm pretty sure it will all be done in a proportional way, that means that the US will probably get the most out of it, and also will have the largest expenses.

Would not say that expenses will really be that high, as US has top class stadium + infrastructure almost in every hood. They will only had to make little preparations to turn their football stadium into soccer stadiums.

Frankly, how can US agree for that tournament? They fight so hard with people who want to stay or get in to US illegally, but after the cup, the numbers are going to jump. Also hope that there will no covid alternative in 2026, as it will be a disaster for the States.

Canada, Mexico, and of course USA still got pretty expenses up ahead of them because even if they already have the required stadium to cater thousands of people, they still and will be needing to upgrade some of the stadiums and adding some things that will be aligned to the FIFA Council's requirements. The said countries won't be debating with it for sure because the profits in return will be massive than what they've poured to the FIFA Standards.
892  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gervonta Davis vs Ryan Garcia on: January 16, 2023, 03:07:25 PM

What I don't like though is that those boxers who throw below the belt insults against each other, they shouldn't allow themselves to talk about someone's family or wife or kids. Lets the trash talking between this two fighters that's it. It could be personal attack like what Ryan said on Davis years ago, or Tank accusing Ryan or taking some drugs because he looks huge right now or talking about his mental health excuses. So shots have been fired in the media already, but in the end we will see who's mouth can back the talks when they face each other in April.

I understand that with this chatter boxers support the hype around the fight, maybe it's even part of their duties that managers require of them (I'm not sure about that), but I do not support this. For me, the inability of a person to keep his mouth shut is a sign of a small mind. If you are a real champion, then all that is required of you is to enter the ring and show your best, everything else is superfluous. Muhammad Ali, Tyson, Lewis each showed their strength in the ring, but none of them wasted their strength outside the ring on empty chatter.
Same with Pacquiao too, he’s not fond of talking shitty words against his opponents, or even touch the personal lives of his opponents, but only give his best shot when inside the ring to beat his match. Let the performance talks, not the mouth. That way, whether you win or lose at the end of the fight, at least you have not harm others from your own words.

And you won't get some embarrassments in the aftermath of the fight because you cannot do what you're talking before the fight began as the people will only criticize and paint you that you bit more than what you can only chew. Well, Pacquiao probably haven't thought about that at all because his personality is not like that and even after the fight, you can't see him talking trash about the opponent that he just got defeated.
893  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 16, 2023, 02:41:57 PM
Sorry for the bantamweights who had been aiming to fight him and stain his perfect record.
They'll be happy that Inoue vacates the bantamweight, now the competition will be fair because Inoue is just too dominant, no boxer that had a close match with him, except for Donaire, but in the rematch, he proved that he is far more superior.

Now this will probably make the super bantamweight more exciting, I bet all the top boxers in that weight class are all in ecstasy to have a piece of him too.
I love watching this guy fight too, there's the entertainment factor and the unexpected so that you won't miss any round of the fight.
The big question: Can he really do it? Take all the belts in the upper division? I can't wait for his next fight.

There's only one way to determine if he can do it, that is to see him fight his closest rank or a champion if possible. What about Casimero? I believe they are on the same weight class now, there fight should happen soon, it will be very exciting to watch.

This is the reason why Donaire suddenly changed his course after knowing that Inoue will vacate all the belts once he climbs the next weight class, supposedly Donaire will go down at 115 pounds in super-flyweight division because he knows that he won't be holding any belts while Inoue is still in bantam weight but after knowing the fact, he is now maintaining the weight and I've heard that he's already scheduled to fight once WBO belt was vacated. Correct me if I'm wrong.
894  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 16, 2023, 01:42:31 PM
The warriors will be visiting the Washington Wizards tomorrow. What do you think would be the nice bet here? I'm thinking of betting on the Warriors because I don't think they will lose twice in a row, I know they are a bad road team but with Curry and the whole gang, this is a championship team, they know how to bounce back.

The bookies are listing the Warriors as the favorites but I don't think they can really handle and do much right now because Klay Thompson has been ruled out in their game versus the Wizards tomorrow. But who knows? It will be a good game for sure because Poole will step up for sure while Thompson is out and Wiggins might give a contribution unlike what happened to them in their last game with the Bulls.
895  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 16, 2023, 01:24:56 PM
Clarkson is indeed playing like an all star, he is now a go to guy of the Jazz, even without Lauri Markkanen on the floor, the coaching staff are still choosing him to produce in crunch time because he is a clutch player. He dropped 38 points last night, that's a serious statement because it's against Embiid and Harden, actually, it looks like a batter between Harden and Clarkson, and see the level of Harden, he was a former MVP.

Jazz will miss the opportunity to have a player that will make the team better if they will let go of Clarkson, I guess he would stay if they will give him his desired range.

JC is indeed getting more and more impressive this season than the past seasons that he played, and I won't wonder why he became a go-to-guy of the Jazz especially when it comes to crucial situations because he repeatedly proved already that he's a clutch player and the guy who needs to make the shot in desperate times.

I've read a news earlier that the Jazz is not looking to trade him anytime soon, so maybe that means that the Jazz management and Jordan Clarkson have agreed to a specific price and that they are now on the same page. Good move.
896  Economy / Economics / Re: Americans are once again quitting their jobs at a growing rate on: January 13, 2023, 09:16:50 PM
One of the probable reasons I'm seeing is related to the other topic you opened for discussion. Side hustles are now more attractive than permanent jobs. And for so many reasons. For one, you will earn better doing side hustles than being employed. That itself is more than enough for employees to quit from their jobs. Other than that, side hustles could give you a lot more time for other important things. With a full time job, you're bound to be on duty, for example, from 8 AM to 5 PM, and 5 or 6 days a week.

Other factors like burn out, toxic supervisors and bosses, toxic workmates, mind-numbing routine, lack of personal and career growth, and many others are also valid reasons for many to quit full-time jobs. Especially because there are side hustles that are available.
You have a good point. There’s a lot of factors to consider why every employee end up quitting his job. But the most possible reason I think is they found better opportunities outside their job, which means better compensation and better work scenario that will create higher advantage on part of the worker. Otherwise, if an employed person suddenly quit from his job without valid reason, he must prepare himself to suffer from economic downturn.
897  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Deontay Wilder versus Andy Ruiz Title Eliminator on: January 13, 2023, 08:52:19 PM

And that's what we wanted to see in this fight, very interesting if Ruiz chin can hold up against the power of Wilder. I would say 50/50 maybe he will go down, but can recover, but if he hit him flush with so much power, then probably Ruiz will have his first knockout lost.

Only Fury had recovered from getting knock down, so I don't expect a lot from Ruiz because I don't think he has a strong chin like Fury. If he can stand up and continue to fight after getting knock down, then probably he will win the fight, but like I said, I don't want to expect a lot.
Ruiz has a solid chin I think and probably that will make him hard to be knockout. But I also agree in you that there’s less to expect from Ruiz, so I would rather vote for Wilder on this match. I’ve seen his previous fights, yes he’s strong and firm, but if Wilder will show better performance in the ring, that will eventually make him the underdog then.
898  Economy / Economics / Re: Save your environmental economic cycle on: January 13, 2023, 08:15:31 PM
Hi, friends.

We are currently in a chaotic phase of global economic uncertainty, everywhere in the world is almost similar to this situation in terms of economy, energy scarcity, food scarcity and many others. but that's not what will be discussed with friends here.

A few days ago I was walking around the housing complex, and I noticed that a lot of grocery stores and other needs (conventional/retailers) had gone bankrupt, maybe this happened because prices were soaring even worse, and people prefer to buy from online stores instead of buying from neighbours, which causes the economy to slow down is undeniably this is the impact of the global economic chaos and technological advances.

If you are a person who has money to shop for daily needs, I suggest you buy from merchants around you instead of shopping online whose stores are far from your place. This must be done to turn the wheels of the economy in your neighbourhood and save them from bankruptcy, at least you give them space to live.
I don’t think people will just settle on buying from retail stores most of the time because obviously, it’s not helping them to save. Even people with money, they are mostly buying from big companies so they can maximize stocking some goods for future use and that will save not just money but time and effort too. Although online buying is also the trend right now, but that is how the pandemic has taught us to just stay at home and order online, since the items are cheaper in prices too.
899  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Keep your emotions balanced especially regarding Bitcoin on: January 13, 2023, 07:45:15 PM
In any form of investment, you should separate your emotions from your action especially with this blockchain wherein the market price is changing from time to time. If you'd be eaten by your emotions whenever the market price moves, you'd end up with huge loss. This market is unpredictable in the first place so expect that things won't be easy. There will be times you will need to set aside frustrations perhaps, to avoid making your losses bigger. There will be times you need to calm down and be patient. Also, times you have to accept that things won't always come in accordance to your own liking. That's just how this market works. Those who will be eaten by emotions will push their way to earn profit. Since things are not certain, attempts of creating profit might become a way to lose more.
I think it’s hard to separate emotions in all that we do, especially if we are craving for success. But since bitcoin is a very volatile investment, and anytime it’s price may dump or pump, so it’s best to just lower down our emotions and never be totally attached to it, that is when separation is really hard to do. Otherwise, when we put our emotions especially in bitcoin trading or investing, we tend to fall mostly on poor decision making and left us impatient seeing our portfolio is losing. That will eventually create more losses instead.
900  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Making post for merit on: January 13, 2023, 06:52:24 PM
From my perspective, it depends on how we look at it. People posts for all sorts of reasons, and as such, some make no effort in their posts, whilst other give it ample thought. Merits are, for many, a kind of incentive, so trying to upper one’s posting ability in order to earn Merits is not a bad thing. In a sense, having Merits in the back of the mind can trigger a person to create better content, and that’s a win-win.

The issue may arise, nevertheless, when someone posts with an overly focus on earning Merits. That often leads to outcomes such as cutting corners (i.e. plagiarising), an excessive amount of topic creation with less focus than a lesser amount would achieve (possibly creating a negative impression) or clearly sucking up to others in hope for Merits (that is not the intent for Merits).

I think everyone posts wishing to make a merit, but of course that should not be the sole purpose why we post. We are making good and quality posts because we want to create useful discussion that will help newbies in the forum, so they will be guided and have a sense of direction. We are also creating quality posts to make this forum alive, and be full of facts and information, and not with gossips and fake news. Having a merit is only a bonus, that can also help lifting our own chair and be more encouraged to make useful and quality post.
