901  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoins dominance coming to an end? on: July 24, 2020, 01:05:52 PM
With a lot of crypto currencies going around, the dominance of bitcoin will surely drop. This is been a talk for a while and it doesn't matter if it falls, more crypto currencies will pop up and the money will not always fall to bitcoin. It doesn't spell the end of dominance of btc, this just tells us that more and more crypto currencies are circulating.

With the surge in altcoins the bitcoin demand due to price might fall compared to its currently position when looking at the future. Though will bitcoin not be a leader is something which is hard to think of, because still thinking that bitcoin will still continue to be market leader for many more time though the % usage of other coins may rise against bitcoin.
Well, these altcoins have their own functions but the main reason of its existence is for the investors to earn profit through time. Saying that, bitcoin's dominance may fall but the demand of it will surely increase as more altcoins exists in the market. Bitcoin will continue to lead the market, that is for sure.
902  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Las Vegas Casinos are open - end of the Pandemic era. on: July 24, 2020, 12:14:51 PM
https://www.wsj.com/articles/las-vegas-sands-swings-to-loss-amid-plummeting-revenue-11595450474?mod=hp_lista_pos5

Casino's in Las Vegas reported up to 97% (!) of decline of revenues according this article published in WSJ
Literally billions of USD have been "not played" due this pandemic event Sad the entire industry of entertainment has been severely hit
This big amount of money (at least a percentage) it's pretty sure will be caught from online casino...

Can't read the whole article but I read an article that says casinos are actually having profits amidst the pandemic but I guess I read that wrong. I guess they should stick to online or live betting now so that workers can stillcdo their jobs and avoid more contacts to people that would also lessen the contamination of the virus.
~snip
So the question here is, are they still operating profitably?

Some people are actually going to casinos because they don't want Vegas' economy to crumble down based on this article. So I guess they would continue to open casinos despite the increasing cases and there will always be hard-headed individuals in this pandemic like the two people stated in the same article.

904  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Physical Casinos Decoded : on: July 23, 2020, 09:34:46 PM
If you look globally, casinos can be attributed to bad things, because as you said, it ruins the lives of some people, and as we know most people are not successful in casino games. In addition, here you can add the fact that people who lose in a casino become temporarily unable to provide for themselves, their family, as well as pay for services and taxes, of course, everything depends on the degree of wealth of the individual. All this leads us to an even greater degree of deterioration of affairs locally around each individual, and globally between all of them within the framework of a separate state and, if you look above, the world. Add money laundering and other delights with which it is connected here, we will get a far from unambiguous result.

There are many things that destroy people's lives and do it very quickly. For example, if you become addicted to alcohol, you can stop being a normal person. Everything is good in moderation. You need to know this and strive for it. Many people have lost their property and families due to their addiction to casinos. However, this does not mean that the casinos should be closed and denied access to all people.

That is right. Usually people would just ask why not just close casinos when there are a lot of people addicted to gambling. There are a lot of reasons for that but the main one is that it gives huge taxes to the government that they can use to improve or develop a country. Another thing is that they are always warned to do things moderately, to be responsible so they should not blame it on casinos.
905  Economy / Economics / Re: How do you estimate resilience of economy in your country? on: July 23, 2020, 06:57:29 PM
Do you think that your country has done everything to cope successfuly and rescue economy, support businesses and most vulnerable citizens or not?

I think not. They are not aware of what is happening and they are just making law after law that is not even about fighting the virus but protecting themselves about the criticism of their citizen. They care more about a certain country's workers rather than their own that they even close a TV Network where thousands of workers there became unemployed and one of our "great" senator saying they should find job elsewhere.

Not even realizing how that means to the country and for their people. While these foreign workers in POGOs are supported by them
906  Economy / Economics / Re: Can we rely on Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency? on: July 23, 2020, 02:53:29 PM
Cryptocurrency has two type of volatility: long and short volatility. In this type of situation (pandemic) we find ourselves in, cryptocurrency won't be of help cos we need steady income to survive than waiting long for profits.
Are you ought to, to invest in bitcoin with your upkeep money? If yes, feel free to do that but don't expect a uplift of price soon

The price is a decent one and during the pandemic it has also been stabilized around 9k.
Cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin is a good alternative for remote working and making income while traditional companies are closing one after the other. The future is online and bitcoin is the fuel for this change.

Bitcoin can give income to these individuals that are working home, it gave profits to people who invested on it for a long time now but they can't always rely on bitcoin since getting a profit from it still takes time. We are talking about a profit that can sustain a family, unless you have a huge amount of investment in bitcoin, you will not be able to rely on it.

For me,i really need bitcoin and we need it especially this time of pandemic. Maybe others use it in illegal transaction or in black market but for me i really need it to support the needs of my family now that i don't have other works caused of covid-19.

How do you use it though? I also have an investment with bitcoin but I don't think I should rely on it since the profit I am getting from it is not that much to support my family or get what I need in a day. Also, even the price increases, I don't want to use it since it might give me more profit in the longer period of time.
909  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Record Revenue for Blockchain Gaming Company During Pandemic on: July 22, 2020, 11:32:53 PM
Most of the people here are bored in their houses when the lockdown are so tight and they are thinking a way of earning money while enjoying themselves and I guess if they just knew this they might take this on.
910  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Slots are better than Dice. on: July 22, 2020, 10:20:58 PM
all this depends on the comfort of the person himself in gambling or based on the luck he feels, if that person always loses in playing dice he will try to switch to other games like slots, and he happens to get a victory in slot games, then he feels more comfortable with a slot, then the perception will appear by itself and he argues if the slot is better than the dice, and vice versa people who like dice will definitely say the same thing

If you say it like that, I will go to slots. Slots have different ways to make you comfortable since some casinos and online casinos make put themes on them. Just imagine a movie you really liked or a movie you just watch being a theme of a slot, that would really catch you're attention anf make you comfortable.
It is all psychological and the difference is house edge on various games. From a mathematical perspective, the house edge is hidden on the payout lines on each spin, so you pay the 5-8% of the bankroll to the house on every 100 spins. Feeling enjoyment is similar to be on the comfort zone, it is hard to break during the winning session but things change quickly on a series of losses.

I agree on that. In the early hours I guess gamblers would be attracted to these themed slot machines but in the long run people would choose dice because of what you've said. For me though, dice is more frustrating in the long run because the thought of a gambler is that it only has 2 outcomes making the chance of winning higher but when the long loss streaks hits him, that would be really annoying and frustrating.

912  Economy / Economics / Re: Economic situation declining and famous celebs not paying workers on: July 22, 2020, 12:04:33 PM
This is just sad. My grandmother usually tell me that rich people would be richer and poor people would be poorer, I never thought that I would be even seeing that happening in this world. They are trampling down these people since they have the power to do so.

They have number one to look after just like everyone else. It is poor business sense to let productive contractors wither but the companies know many of them will be back as they don't have any better options, that's if the companies that employ them survive. Everyone has taken a massive hit from the top to the bottom.

I know that. It is just that even though these companies are affected, those people above have their complete meals, have their own house for them to be safe from the virus, have their family secured even weeks and weeks of quarantine or lockdowns while those poor workers can't do that. Life is unfair but I hope they should really consider paying them even half since they really needed it.
Life is really unfair to those who are under those successful and rich people because they can't buy everything they need and ever wanted, that is why they work hard to reach their goals and become successful in life. But in the middle of a pandemic, the poor people become poorer that a lot of people have lost most of their jobs and gives them a huge problem with how they would live and feed their families every day.

Even with the thing they just need, that is just fine. With a helping hand they would be able to secure their lives in this pandemic, help is what they need but the thing is that even though there are hands that are willing to help, those hands are not enough. They really have it rough. We can't really remove poverty in this world.

914  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do we need bitcoin? on: July 21, 2020, 07:39:38 PM
Well, do we need it? Because, I can see that people use it only as an investment or as a money laundering tool. Black markets rebornt after the creation of bitcoin. I tried to convince someone to use it, but you know what? I couldn't. Why? Well, honest people don't afraid the central authority, in addition with the dishonest ones. Those who want something that is illegal, cannot do that. So they use bitcoin.

Here's the thing, bitcoin is not actually anonymous for people to actually hide themselves from the world. Remember how Silk Road was taken down despite their usage of Bitcoin? They are reborn? Silk Road 2.0 and 3.0 was taken down too.

There are more anonymous crypto currencies than bitcoin so I don't think we should always talk about people wanting to use it to cover their tracks, still, do we need it? The question here should be do we want it? Not all of the countries adopted this crypto and despite you having a lot of it, you can't still use it. Anonimity? Volatility? Illegal? Do you still want it? It depends, since as you said, they look at it as an investment.

In terms of Money Laundering, this article described it as "sparse". Which we can conclude people treat Bitcoin more of an investment rather than a money laundering tool.

Governments don't want it and they wish they could prevent it, because they cannot track you easily, they cannot tax you, they ..., they ..., they...
Governments like censorship, and there is 0% censorship on bitcoin.

I like bitcoin, a lot. But I don't think that this world needs it. Except if they want to hide something. Prove me wrong.

I respect your opinion but doesn't mean people using decentralized currencies means they want to hide something, can't I just have a crypto for investing? It is not always the anonimity that we take account into, it is the profit. Just look how it move in the pandemic, with the right decisions we could earn a lot by taking that dump as an advantage.

Another thing is that not all of the people even want it. In our country not even quarter of our population are using bitcoin. The government have their hands full with more important problems than thinking how they would tax bitcoin since if they wanted to they can just take it all off on exchanges, but they didn't.

Government wanted censorship, that is why there would come a time where people might use crypto currencies not just for anonimity, but for their freedom.
915  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Las Vegas Casinos are open - end of the Pandemic era. on: July 21, 2020, 11:18:23 AM
We cannot force people and that is the problem.I think that Astra Zeneca together with Oxford University are near the creation of a good vaccine for this nightmare called Covid 19 and the trial results were really good so far by not only killing the virus but also the infected cells and improving the immune system of our body.

I hope this vaccine ends well. I hope you can give us some link about this vaccine so we would be able follow the update about this.

Getting back on topic the real news is not that Las Vegas is open but for me is my question if anyone has hit a multi million dollar jackpot nowadays in Vegas.

Well, we don't know if their lives is worth to risk but I hope they are doing well though the fact that the cases in Nevada is increasing means they are not that well. They allowed the casinos to open but they are not strict when it comes to protocol to be followed.
916  Economy / Economics / Re: China economy and how they handle Covid-19. on: July 19, 2020, 03:27:45 PM
From the very beginning of this pandemic, I generally had the total conviction, that COVID-19 was a planned action to justify the fall of American markets. Then, when mass diseases began in Italy, I began to doubt and realized that the virus still exists, although none of my relatives hurt them. Perhaps this virus is not as scary as it is painted. Is this more a political game?

I can't just say that all of the people are just a scheme of the government. There are a lot of families lost here, people tending with the virus that died and I don't think they are just a "political game". You relatives are following protocols and taking care of themselves. This is not a joke nor a game, it is a pandemic.

Even if we support small businesses, how about those workers that have it rough too. Those people that can't just do their own thing since their career is always below someone.

Aside from forsage ponzi scheme here is someone in our Local board share also the same style and possibly could expand like whats happening on forsage too. But I do hope, we warned others about this new one called LionShare. Thanks @LogitechMouse for sharin this on our local community.

Warning: Another ETH Based Investment Scheme

I doubt our Filipino communities who eagerly wanted to earn will listen to such warning once more. Hope they not ignore these precautions

I've read about this and told my friends and co-teachers about it though I can't confirm anything since I have no experience and source of information about it. I warned them still since I am also aware about forsage. Thanks for sharing, people are desperate to earn these days and these sick people are trying to scam others for them to earn for themselves in an unfair way.
919  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying food or groceries with Bitcoin on: July 19, 2020, 12:15:35 PM
There are exchanges here that let you accept bitcoin but receive it in fiat. People could just use their Php wallet so even if their customers pay them with Bitcoin and other crypto currencies accepted in their exchange, the merchants or the stores will accept it as a fiat. Is this still part of this matter?

Looks like another sanction incoming for the Blackwater Elite owner as the PBA board takes offense on his statement about selling his team.

https://sports.inquirer.net/398637/blackwater-owner-sy-in-even-troubled-water-as-pba-board-takes-offense

Quote
League chair Ricky Vargas said in an interview on Thursday that Sy’s comments have serious repercussions. And though him allowing his team to practice last week was an “operational matter that the Office of the Commissioner will deal with,” threatening to sell his franchise will not be taken lightly by the board.

This is the consequences of issuing a statement without thinking first or there is a burst of emotion. I think the owner takes it too personal and it's just right that the board will reprimand him for his action but i think they should not leak this out to the media so that it will not be blown out of proportion.

I think everything now is in media, they are doing this to make sure other team owners will be aware  that this kind of action or statement will not be tolerated in the PBA, at this point, based on the updates I read about  PBA, it looks like there's more news on the sanction to a specific person or a group  who violated the rules than the timeline the PBA will return, it's like more bad news are being published while the hype of the PBA return was set aside.

If this continue this might affect the continuation of the games. Is this year really that terrible? Everybody is hyped on the continuation since more people might watch these games right now since a tv station is closed now. More men will be having their TV by themselves watching PBA games.
