Well, as I start this reply it's 1:23pm.

I just OC'd all four of my S3's to 237.5, I have a dentist appointment at three. So after I hit the post button. I'm gonna do a single refresh on all four to see web stats. After that I'll let everything be til probably around 4pm when I get back. If everything looks good, I'll leave them all on 237.5 for 24hrs.

If after that, everything still looks good. Then about this time tomorrow or so I will take the proverbial plunge and try 250 on one of them for 24hrs. If that holds good, then I'll set the second at 250 and let run 24hrs, so on and so forth til I t all four on 250 if I'm lucky.

Between 237.5 & 250, is there any other freqs, I think I saw someone say 240 or something a few pages back.
Ok, so back from the dentist, checked on the four S3's and no x's but I did however notice something weird and maybe it will wind up between now and tomorrow. Anyway, below are as of this post... Elapsed Time, Gh/s(5s) & Gh/s(avg) as well as the HW & the Diff a & r figures.

My curiosity is in tthe avg speed of miners 1 & 3 while 2 & 4 look good. Haven't done the HW% math, maybe someone could for me ? lol.

Oh ya, all four are OC'd to 237.5

About this time tomorrow I'll use actual pics when it will be ~24hrs that they will all have been up on 237.5.

Power consumption?
Each one on it's own min 1k watt PSU using all four power ports. Have done a reset or two since the quoted post but all four seem stable now all ~470Gh/s @ 237.5. I can with certainty say I wont be attempting 250 since 2 of 4 miners seemed flaky at first on 237.5, but like I said. After some resets, all seem fine now on that freq doing ~470.

Miner 1 new Uptime: ~1hr
Miner 2 new Uptime: ~1hr 30min
Miner 3 new Uptime: ~1hr 30min
Miner 4 new Uptime: ~1hr 30min

Will be checking them off and on til I go to bed tonight but if any are showing x's / aren't hashing ~470 this time tomorrow which will give me ~24hrs. I'll have to DC the "bad" ones to 225 and see how they hold for 24hrs.

I was thinking of having my collo guy re-paste them but I doubt it would do anything, and besides that... all temps look good right now.

Miner 1: 42/42
Miner 2: 43/42
Miner 3: 42/42
Miner 4: 40/43

I did notice the high RPM on miner 2... FWIW, here's all the units RPM's. Assuming all checks out this time tomorrow, I'll upload pics and work out the HW%.

Miner 1: 3180/1860
Miner 2: 10,080/11,040
Miner 3: 1920/1800

since the newest firmware i can not get the s3 to be found by the tool
it constant whines and crashes with the know .net errors
there is alot of new toys in the new firmware which might be no longer working for this nice ant monitor
deleting any info regarding the registry or anything i could think off did not solved the issue

Someone want to lend me 1.5 BTC 0.58 * 2 = 1.16 BTC  whatever it costs for a pair of S3s to buy a pair of S3s?  I'll pay you back, might take a bit, but I'll pay you back.

Otherwise it might be a bit before I can afford a pair from Bitmain.

Worth a shot. Might not get the full amount, but worth a shot to maybe get enough to buy one.

Try Ant Monitor. Its pretty useful. It will tell you your HW% and you can set up alerts. Use the S1 settings when setting up.
Can't until M patches it for hosted outside the home network machines.

I made mine wireless and I connect through the router. I can jump on any computer in the house and monitor it.

Edit: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=702653.msg8062114#msg8062114
After you connect it just treat it like an S1 and you can set up the wireless. Once you connect to the wifi it will be named WWAN by default. Go to WAN and change it to DHCP client and save and apply it. Disconnect the wire and turn the power off and on.

I reserved the DHCP on my router for the Antminer's MAC address so it will always have that IP.
Sorry but there's no wireless antenna I can put on my machines 5hrs away from me.

I have 6 U1 sticks.  However, you are basically asking that I give them to you.  Make me an offer but it's probably not worth my time to go to the post office and ship it to you for like $5.
$10 + $6 S&H (sm priority mail box) ?
You're in the US?  I'm in Canada, so shipping is likely prohibitively expensive in this deal.
More than likely, would you check on that for me please ? Doesn't have to be priority, just whatever gets them here to 16335 Meadville Pa.

256.25 -----  I do not have the code for this.

Thx, anything above 250 IMO is asking for trouble, 250 itself is thinking of talking to trouble.

Don't know if I want to really mess with 250 though, but if 237.5 holds well for the next 24hrs with no X's, I may just do 243.75 and call it a day as the saying goes.

I did notice on my refresh after the initial post (before this) that all looked good on the miners except for a single x on the third miner. I rebooted it, did one fresh and wont touch / check on it til I get back from my 3pm appointment.

I chalked that x up to a hiccup on the new freq since sometimes another reboot is all you need for them to settle after OC'ing.

For some strange reason 2 out of my 5 Ant Miners require re-flashing every day to bring back up to stock speeds of 441 GH/s they appear to run stable for about 12 hours or so and then both just fall to circa 420 GH/s. I have tried everything, replacing the thermal paste, swapping around the PSU's, factory restart, reboot etc. The only thing that helps (For a short period of time) is if I flash the device again and again every 12 hours or so.
Has anyone else got any thoughts on what else I could do? Or do I just have 2 faulty units?
I don't really have anything helpful to say other than repeated flashing will probably do more damage than good over time.

Just received DHL tracking number for my 32xx and 31xx orders (direct BA order).
Should be 10x Prospero X3 + 5x compensation units.
My orders have been marked as completed.

I should have had 5 days of hosting, but it looks it has been skipped.
I received my ten psu for compensation units weeks ago.

I really don't know what to expect next Monday when goods will arrive (tracking is for only one package, which looks little bit worrying).

Eric (Paris Bitcoin center)

Order date please? :-)
Certainly after mine when I'm direct BA batch one 17xx, and I don't have anything yet.

Results of today's BITMAIN announcement:

1) Existing S3 owners basically received a 0.1 - 0.2 BTC increase in the value of their individual S3's

2) New ebay scams: Sudden increase in the number of S3+ units for sale.

3) cynical B1 owners now have the new S1- model.
Huh, what announcement where ?

The point of 1) was that S3+ really won't be mining in the US or Europe until about 9/25. In the mean time between receiving a early batch S3 and 9/25, you will have mined about 0.2 to say 0.4 BTC. The early batch s3's were about 0.68 BTC and the S3+ are 0.58. So either the early batch s3's were too cheap or the S3+ are too expensive.

Throw in what somebody down thread also mentioned, is that BITMAIN will also get a few weeks of S3+ mining.
Ahh, well I have four B5's I paid 0.68 per on for a total of 2.72 BTC.

I've got two S3 batch 5s running off of one thermaltake smart M 850W. Each S3 has two pci-e plugs. Each S3 is running at about 216 GH/s.

I was under the impression that each miner could run with only two plugs each. Am I mistaken?
Under normal clock you need one power cable to each blade, sounds like you got two ports on one side powered instead of one each side
955  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] Antminer U2 USB sticks... looking for at least 17 of them. on: August 14, 2014, 01:34:33 AM
I have 6 of them, not particularly looking to sell, but for the right price maybe. Offer on all 6?
If your not really looking to sell but might for the right price, that kind of means your gonna want more than anyone would ever give since they're almost useless with current hardware

Waiting on one person to PM me back now who might have all 17.

Back when I was doing scrypt it was common to do solo.  I'm assuming nobody does solo on BTC or?  because if I hit a block doing solo with current calc i would net 25 btc which would be 3 times the amount I paid for the 12 devices.  I'm doing 5.5thash now that i'm all oc'ed.  If i stick with a pool forever then I have zero chance of making 25 btc.  If I go solo and have some luck then within ~180 days I might hit one...

Any thoughts here on solo mining?

yes mine

 1 s-3 solo

How does one setup an S3 or an S1 to solo mine?

Try this:

Or if you want a way you can actually do it without wondering if you messed something up.

When your done OC'ing (editing the file) it says to reboot the system.

When back at the command line in PuTTy, can you do like a sudo reboot to reboot the system ?

I don't know in Putty (could be the same), but in Terminal, if you are still at the root prompt, type reboot, then hit enter/return.

Thx, will try that when I'm actually able to get in to mine.
