981  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: August 16, 2023, 07:22:01 PM
-snip-

Sean Strickland will always be pissed with Israel Adesanya, and become a lapdog of the UFC, as every fight that is last minute he will fill it in because he badly needed that money, as I have seen his last fight with Abusupiyan Magomedov that was a great performance of Strickland and he exposes Abusupiyan Magomedov in this fight because Magomedov was an explosive fighter but the thing is he is not that technical and Strickland has an excellent defense you can say that Sean Strickland is not good with his offense but furthermore when it comes to defense he is surely a veteran, but it will not work against a more technical fighter, and Abusupiyan Magomedov was exposed for not being technical, and just throwing that punch randomly,
Even so, you can already have the answer yourself, that Adesanya is a fighter with quite a hard punch, so it's not difficult for Adesanya to deliver a deadly blow to overthrow Strickland, who feels he has quite good resistance.
If you think about it carefully, it seems that you can't compare Abusupiyan Magomedov with Adesanya against Strickland.

Isn't this an interesting main card sequence because it will feature a battle encounter between great fighters.
There will be a surprise from Islam Makhachev against Oliveira at UFC 294.

Izzy is too advanced for Strickland's game. It's a mismatch but because Izzy seems to have cleared this division for good, with no one else to fight. It should have been DDP instead of Strickland.  The next move for Izzy is to go up to the LHW where he may really have challenging fights like Pereira again or there has to come up like Khamzat to MW to fight Izzy.

O’Malley is an UFC created fighter and a record. It is a fact that the kid has a talent, but UFC gave him weak opponents imho. I have started no liking Sterling when he got the belt after illegal knee. But in next fights he managed to change my attitude to him. 4th title defence. That is a lot. A lot of guys lose belts after first defence. Imho Sterling will wrestle O’Malley in parter till UD or split win.

Suga is fun to watch though if fighting against a striker also. One can anticipate him defeating Aljo tbh. I however personally want the fight to go off on Dana's face once his favorite dog gets submitted. Sterling only needs to stick to his usual plan to slam his opponent in wrestling.
982  Economy / Gambling / Re: 0xBET | Crypto Casino 🎲 Sportsbook ⚽ Fast Payouts ✅ on: August 16, 2023, 05:34:08 PM

Welcome to bitcointalk.
I navigate for some time and see it's a fiat base casino (EURO) but they do have options to deposit, buy and bet coins.

Welcome to bitcointalk!! Not sure you chose the best name as it is closely related to 1xbet which is considered a scam casino. You are not associated with them are you? I'm also curious if you plan to be active in this thread as you have a disclosure posted

Combination 0x Protocol and 1XBet is probably their inspiration to come up on this name since they emphasize 0x like the protocol project name brand. May

@0xBet, I try to register and complete the info for the 30 free spin. I’m currently stuck on the email verification because the verification email doesn’t arrive on my email despite I received already an installation of the app email which means I input correct email on registration. I check already my spam folder and resend email verification multiple times.

1XBet comes to mind when I saw the domain. If it's just a coincidence they register this domain, it's gonna be a wild ride for them since that 1xbet is associated so much with scams.  If they intend to ride the popularity of that casino, they sure gonna spend a lot for marketing.
983  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What resources do you have for members who may be dealing with addiction? on: August 16, 2023, 04:49:01 PM
Hello everyone!

This is my first time on this board. I have a simple question for all the active members of this board. I know some members here are struggling with gambling addiction as I have read multiple threads which you can relate to the issue of addiction.

My question to everyone here is that if a member is hooked to this addiction, is their any resources to help that member. If not then what exactly is this community offering? I believe
if such a resources is available it should be on the pinned message. The next thing would be to always update it regularly, as things change quickly in gambling.

As addiction is a serious issue, if anyone here has been able to overcome it? Why not share how to overcome with such an addiction. As per my understanding all of these addiction have the same initial therapy. Do you agree with me? Cool

Thanks.

You can read most of the addiction threads, each has its own way on how to deal with the addiction. Since it's your first time here I guess you are yet not addicted.

The internet is a much bigger world I think one could find a way to entertain himself without gambling, by just watching updates from your Facebook feed I think you can spend more than hours reading and commenting on your friend's wall. This I guess will stray a gambler from gambling at least for hours.

984  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Anonymity is no longer a benefit of gambling with cryptocurrency. on: August 16, 2023, 04:24:27 PM
It's not entirely true anyways... AFAiK, there are some casinos that don't even care about the KYCs anymore - mostly since they've observed that it's becoming a problem this days..
Alot of things are happening in today's world and it's infact, a mojor constitute...but why would anyone be really keen about maintaining anonymity if not for covering up money laundering cases?? So many peeps don't wanna be monitored and that's against the T/C's of most casinos with obvious reasons... They don't wanna be sued for illegitimate ordeals..

Sandra 🧑‍🦰
That is a pour truth because i have read players' testimonies where they win huge amounts and the casino never ask them for verification even when they exceed the no kyc withdrawal trench hold it is still left for the casino to decide whether to ask for KYC or not, and if the account doesn't exhibit any abusive behaviour in the system,  some casinos will just decide to let the account operate freely.

So it all depends on the underlying conditions that around the players that warrant the casino to ask for such from time to time, but also we have to settle with one fact that.

Centralized casinos have 100% right to ask for KYC, most especially if it is written in the terms and conditions of the casinos.

It is just a question of how and when are you asking for it. If you have the right to ask for KYC do it since minute zero, be honest and straightforward with you client and do not start putting obstacles when it is so obvious that you have to give their hard earned earnings back. It is so suspicious that the concerns are raised right the moment they withdraw that is very close to a scam.
It's still minimal if it's merely asking for KYC at the time of withdrawal, the worse part is that you will provide every needed document but they will still not approve your account. This is just because of your winning, and they will be finding excuses for holding your money. I don't think there is a company (gambling or not) that I don't first do my KYC before I entrusted my money with them for the past 18 years. I make sure that my account is fully certified, and if they started making excuses for withdrawing my money, then I would know immediately that it's foul play.

A no-KYC crypto casino should be the best judging by the nature of cryptocurrency but lack of trust and regulation have tied their hands. Even at that, they have excesses under the guise of KYC, which is why it's good to look for the ones you can only trust.

They are bound to comply with the regulation that if the government asks for the client's data, they might just give it as well. I don't think there is a casino that you can trust but as long as you play and withdraw minimal funds, you could just skip the KYC requirements.

There are however casinos that ask KYC regardless of how small the funds you are about to withdraw, I tried this from one casino which still asks even if the funds I got were just $70 worth of Doge.  Never bother to withdraw it but play the risk of putting it all to the underdog by KO.
985  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Prosecution to use Caroline Ellison notes as evidence against SBF on: August 16, 2023, 03:46:11 PM

Suddenly this story changed a lot and it seem like Caroline is throwing SBF under the bus. Plea bargain for Sweet Caroline while SBF takes the fall after all the people will still be blaming him for what happened to the funds under his watch.

You are right. But considering she'd be testifying, that can count as something. Granted, he can deny these sayings as just mere sayings on her part, but a personal diary can contain relevant evidence which can be discoverable. Her notes seem to detail meetings with herself and SBF where he disclosed some issues about the company to her and this can serve as evidence, right? Well I'm not an expert. I guess we'd find how it all went down

This is another news story. In the US, there are 2 types of lawsuit. In the first version, Sam Bankman-Freed agrees with all the charges, cooperates with the authorities, and the trial takes place in a fast procedure with a minimum sentence. If Sam Bankman-Freed refuses, and agrees to a jury trial, then if found guilty, he may receive a long prison sentence or be acquitted. The jury will decide whose testimony is more honest.

Too bad for the kid to have mixed himself with the worse crime organization. Somebody has to fall anyway and it wouldn't be Carol nor Gensler or anyone else from the ones SBF had bribed. SBF used to have access to media where he can be interviewed and even attend conferences, it is different this time.
986  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling discussion effect on: August 16, 2023, 03:30:15 PM
I’m not a regular gambler before I start participating on gambling discussion here due to campaign requirements. Right now I have urge to gamble everytime I saw someone post here about discussion on profit or winning jackpot. Even a simple discussion about strategy makes me want to gamble because I’m excited to try the strategy that I’m thinking.

Right now, I’m still not frequently gambling because of my work but I do regular gambling once or twice a week even if I don’t do this before just because I’m always exposed to gambling discussion and the thought of it makes me want to try.

What’s the effect of gambling discussion here to you? I’m thinking to quit participating on signature campaign that involves gambling discussion in an event that my gambling activities is increasing above my normal habit.

This is a good conversation to think about. I myself rarely posted in the gambling section before being incentivized to do so and since then I have certainly gambled more frequently. While I don’t ever bet enough to truly matter to me, it is interesting to think that signature campaigns themselves could be making money by bringing in new participants by exposing them to the signature campaign and getting them comfortable with gambling.

The best that he may do is just gamble what he earned from the campaign he is in. If he hit the jackpot, that would pay off everything he spent too. But if he wants to limit his activity I think he can gamble on the sport he likes. Most of the time, sports have particular days or weeks where events happen and that is the only time he may only bet.

It's probably not surprising to see campaign participants getting addicted to gambling. Us exposed to it all the time in casinos is very much tempting all the time. Most especially iff the funds are sent to your casino wallet.
987  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Staking Coins With Annual Returns - Good Idea on: August 15, 2023, 07:03:14 PM
I really think staking is not a good option, this is just my opinion because If we have to stake then there will always be some risk if the price of the coins falls or the project fails to deliver then what will happen? Someone will lost all his funds, but the good option is always trading.

With ETH I think it's going to make stakers a lot of money though and most institutions are going to be holding POS tokens for staking. I think that's what makes it tempting to stake ETH.

It's just not going to be worth using ATOMIC wallet though because it's not an opensource project. I remember there was an issue about it months ago so don't get attracted to wallets like that because of the high interest. You'd rather be using wallets used by the developer itself and are opensource to make sure you won't lose your funds.
988  Economy / Gambling / Re: Dexsport.io ⚡ the first decentralized crypto sports betting platform on: August 15, 2023, 06:31:17 PM
Their website looked professional and I had not come across this thread or TrustPilot before using them. I found them in a blog post. My bad.
Anyway they are 10000% scammers, stay very far away! Wonder how much they invested to get their website up and running because it looks really slick.

Yeah, their website does look really good, and I wouldn't immediately call it an obvious scam.  I mean, someone clearly put in a lot of work and money to make it seem legit. But you know what? Looks can be deceiving. If they're scamming people selectively, like you're saying, they could keep it up for ages. Just like how 1xBit does it.

The dexsport.io account, which had been quiet for a while, suddenly came to life today, probably just after you called out the scam. Maybe now the casino's representative will actually show up on the forum and try to explain these disputed situations.

Agree. The site looks very cool already, it just needs a bit of promotion I think it can get some signup from sports bettors here. It's just sad that they didn't wait for months before showing some signs of scam plans.

I just saw their sports page https://mainnet.dexsport.io/sports
I couldn't believe they are scams though. Maybe one or two users claiming they withdraw their coins could regain their reputation so we'll see what they could do about this now that OP is back online.
989  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A weird belief among some gamblers. on: August 15, 2023, 06:19:30 PM
lol I don't really understand how you found this hard to believe. People are fucking weird, and they do all sorts of odd things, and being superstitious about their gambling habits is really far from one of the more outrageous things that people tend to do.

Personally for me, I would be annoyed at some random person asking about my bets. It really isn't anyone's business, so just out of privacy concerns I'd probably tell them to buzz off too.

With how outrageous people can be, being superstitious in gambling is the least thing I'll ever worry about. There are people offering literally all sorts of weird and crazy things to whatever god they worship to just to win something. With that said, I still wouldn't let other people see my bets. I don't want to be on the receiving end of blame if they even copied my bets.

Referring to the title of this thread, the problem of belief is a phenomenon that is familiar to me personally. In Asia, there are various cultures and beliefs that are adhered to. no exception, when involved with gambling. I personally, have no problem with beliefs that are called strange by some gamblers who think more intelligently and modernly.
But believe me, even we will never understand something that someone does with his gambling that involves strange beliefs in gambling. but certainly, they exist and as long as it becomes a principle for them, or is part of the culture. everything is legal, even they have the right to express what they believe  like what we do, which puts forward something that is more realistic and logical. but in fact, those who believe in superstition have never opposed the modern style of gambling.

As I said at the beginning, in Asia there are many cultures that some people believe can be involved with gambling, especially regarding the lottery. they will try some methods, tricks, methods, which involve the beliefs we call superstitions. but anyway, it all depends on how we interpret it. if we don't believe it, just let them do as they want to do. most importantly, no one is disturbed and harmed. I personally am more realistic, especially when talking about football betting. research and analysis, is a part that I believe in when it comes to betting.

Even in today's time, we see it in boxing matches where they wear necklaces. For some, it may be weird but for them, it's not weird they just respect what others are doing. Pacquiao for example wears the Christian rosary beads in his early career after some time he had that necklace with a cross to which he also bow down in the corner before fighting. The Mexicans also do this afaik.

Khabib the MMA champ has a fur hat for a lucky charm and it seems very lucky, he retired without loss.
990  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [POLL] Using AI to predict outcomes on: August 15, 2023, 04:48:44 PM
Has anyone made any progress is uncovering the secrets to get AI to help decide on bets to place for sporting events? With the NBA season now quickly approaching, it would be great to get to mess around with AI and placing bets on games. I guess I’ll have to get down and dirty and see what solution I can come up with.

Of all the AIs launching all over the internet, none so far was able to release one that is for sports betting. The one that it can be relied on is the Bookmarker itself to which whoever has the odds of winning, would also be the pick of the AI.

It's gonna be harder for developers to really get involved in outcome prediction for sports. Probably not as easy as AIs for writing articles and answering questions where AIs can pull sources from the internet.
991  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: August 15, 2023, 04:08:03 PM
Now that the UFC Fight Night has ended, I think it is safe to say that we are moving on to a new event and I think this is the real deal of a juicy event
(...)

As I posted before, I was predicting an easy win for Sterling, but now I'm having second thoughts. I still think Sterling is more likely to win, but I don't think it will be easy for him to take O'Malley down and Sean is not without a chance. If it goes to distance, O'Malley will probably win and is more likely to win by KO. So Sterling will have to find a way to win by submission.
The current odds for O'Malley are around 3.15, making it a good value bet.

Really curious on how Chris Weidman will perform against Brad Tavares. It's Weidman's first fight since that horrific injury (broken leg) in a fight against Uriah Hall.

If it goes the distance I think Sterling has a more likely chance of getting the W as we've never seen O'Malley go 5 rounds.  But O'Malley's fight vs Yan looked like he wasn't tired after R3.  So he prolly has the gas tank to go all 5, who knows...  But still a question mark.

As for Sterling, what's the best strat to avoid O'Malley's powerrr?  Just do what he does best, wrestle and take his opponent's back.  Sterling via sub is at 3.05.  I think that's fair value.  But if you really wanna go for value in O'Malley, the R1, R2, and R3 propa are at 10, 13 and 18.  A KO at the early rounds is O'Malley's best chance to win.

UFC 292:  Embedded 1
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JAByh9xLw8M

It's Striker vs Grappler. He is going to test whether Sean really has a ground game for once and he will defend all the takedowns in this fight. They know each other's strengths so Omalley can also counter before Aljo can even position to take him down considering his accurate punching.

Both are called clowns in UFC though but at least Aljo proves himself against Yan 2. If Sean vs Yan 2 happens again, it could end up differently UFC should have given that fight a rematch before Aljo.  Aljo is the huge favorite but pretty sure Dana wants Omalley to win this.
992  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The fight between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk. Who you betting on? on: August 15, 2023, 02:52:34 PM
With all these announcements coming from Mark we can see that he is serious about fighting Elon, whereas Elon has a lot of alibis and lacks seriousness, this is why Elon is good in hype they made us all believe that the fight will push through, anyway he can change his mind anytime since Mark have already that he is ready anytime he is just a call away to make the deal.
It could have been the biggest news and fight this year if the fight had pushed through because this is the first time that it's going to happen two of the richest men on Earth fighting in the ring or octagon, what could be a piece of more interesting news as this.

Evidently because Mark Zuckerberg has been with some famous UFC stars that helped prepare him in his supposed fight with Elon Musk but the latter is not taking things in a serious state which disappoints Mark because it was Elon who started all of these talks and even proposed a cage fight. But now, it turns out that Elon doesn't want any of that fight as he is now making an excuses, an excuse that he will never ran out of.

And then Mark took it seriously like Elon is really going to fight in the cage?
Mark shows courage but this is because he is younger. At Elon's age, the guy will just be kicked below his knee and it will be disjointed. Elon had already trolled several times to give him some cue Mark is just too dumb to catch it.

One billionaire hates another billionaire I guess. They both compete in the tech industry and most probably hate each other's achievements.

Did Actually Mark take this circus seriously?
I doubt it, and if he did then he must realize as soon as possible that Elon is doing what he usually does, to troll around and catch the attention of the masses. Just think about it, once people started to talk about the fight in a relatively serious manner, Elon suggested to measure their genitals instead a cage fight.

He is intelligent enough to know he cannot give anyone the chance to publicly defeat him and make a public humiliation out of him.  I am expecting this fight not to happen and it may be forgotten as time goes on, unless the lawsuit from Twitter against Meta's threads continues to move forward and people continue to try to convince Elon to accept the challenge.

I doubt Elon talked to Dana about them fighting. But Zucker really talked to Dana for confirmation?

That dude seriously hates Elon for really stepping up to really pursue both of them on stage while Elon is just tweeting and laughing. Elon is on another level and everyone is a toy for that guy, thats why its never to be believed whatever he is saying. He does it in interviews, the guy trolls just about anyone. He knows he can get away. Even if he tweets about Epstein and his clients on TV, Elon can get away with it.
993  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Latest Game in my Country: Bottle Flip on: August 15, 2023, 02:39:43 PM

I've seen this on tiktok I know some may stake in this game but I wouldn't take it seriously like a bet on it. It's fun watching the game and seeing them take turns in making the bottle stand but this is not for me. It's just for fun that it can be done at a party where your friends are already drunk.

But I tried doing it with the soda bottle some time ago but never really get to make it stand. I take a skill probably like control of the bottle in order to win.
994  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wrong way to accumulate. on: August 14, 2023, 06:24:26 PM

The most popular way of doing it is Dollar Cost averaging or DCA. Basically, buy some BTC every time the price dips. Doing this in the bear market is obviously stressful so you gotta doing it while the bear market is over and has calm down already.

If you are a trader you already know how to check it on a weekly scale where to bottom is somehow calmer and we are about to jump up.  This is the time when an investor planning to DCA makes a huge profit.
995  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Reckless gambling starts after a win round. on: August 14, 2023, 04:54:51 PM
Experienced gamblers can control their lust and desire, while amateur will always think that they can take money if they will continue to try,

The rest of it will be dictate with what the outcome will turn. Worst, an amateur will turn to addicted gambler.

It’s not about controlling lust and desire but rather they learn how to be satisfied when they play gambling because they knew exactly what their goal on gambling. If peope can control lust and desire then they shouldn’t gamble already but instead control it within themselves.

As an experienced gambler, I cherish all my gamblin games win or lose and this makes me entertained when gambling including the short pain when losing my money. An amateur addicted gambler doesn’t know what they really want to get and blindly gambling just to chase their unknown profit target.

So there is an amateur addict and there is a seasoned addict lol
The seasoned addict my guess is already satisfied and can just quit at any moment if he decides. The majority of the newbie that is hooked on winning money through the casino is often going to chase the loss since every gambler is doing it to win some of them are even planning to stop when they win their capital back. Only to find out later, they decide to roll again thinking why can't he just double his capital before stopping.
996  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: August 14, 2023, 04:17:47 PM
Interestingly, Conor McGregor has said he’ll be fighting in December against Michael Chandler. This is the first confirmation I’ve heard of who and when he’ll be fighting. Looks like the wait is on.

I have also seen such news, that finally Conor is having a fight, and his opponent gonna be Chandler. That is the fight UFC have planned for a long time ago. I think it is about time Dana or UFC bosses show who is in charge there. I think they are sick and tired when fighters choose who they want to fight, instead of choose opponents UFC give them. Even in Conor case. It is about time to show who is employer and who is employee.

So much news none of them are confirmed to be true. Chandler will fight Conor whether he is in the USADA pool or not, he will waste Conor for good. I think it was just Gaethje who said will not fight Conor relating to the USADA issue because the junkie has nothing to lose.

I think it will be easier for Adesanya to finish the battle and there will be unimaginable surprises later.
Even though Strickland is more favored than Dricus, Adesanya himself is a fighter who doesn't give up easily to be able to hold on to the championship belt in his class and destroy anyone who wants to drop his title.
Don't call him the Chinese champion because now that title is no longer valid because Adesanya has become the UFC champion for the Middleweight class. Roll Eyes
Whoever Adesanya's opponent will definitely experience increased emotional feelings but precisely all of that can burn Adesanya's fighting spirit when in the octagon.
I haven't seen the distinctive style of the Adesanya fighter since the last two fights against Alex Pereira, even though Adesanya won in the last fight but he is still recorded in history having one unfinished defeat against Alex Pereira back in 2017. But I am surprised that Strickland's next challenger will be against Adesanya and based on his history he lost against Alex Pereira and there are other defeats that it will be difficult to predict his chances of winning.

As @bittraffic said, the Pre-conference will be more interesting to watch than a real fight in the octagon as they will be fighting for recognition as the best fighter position, but I hope Strickland doesn't talk as much nonsense as he did during the UFC 276 Pre-conference, if he doesn't prove his ability to defeat Adesanya.

Strickland will enjoy the press conference moment because that may just be his opportunity against Adesanya. Nothing else after that. Strickland is a puncher but with a short reach and he doesn't even have a KO punch power. Strickland is no threat to Izzy, Issy can literally just snap jabs in all 5 rounds and Strickland can take a fall any round.
997  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is your anticipation on bitcoin market capitalization as for 2030 on: August 14, 2023, 03:42:35 PM

It was 3Trillions back in 2021. It will be more than 3Trillion probably more than 10 Trillion if they count how many folds it did after 2013.

Considering the things that are going on in the economy, it will be easy to imagine people flocking in crypto when the bull run starts creeping up because everyone wants to make money when the QE starts. Blackrock has 10 Trillion in their pockets, so it should make sense they are not just the one pouring money into BTC.

Can stablecoins be able to prevent de-dollarization?

Maybe so. But I think the basis of the depolarization is the international trade between countries and the PetroDollar. If let's say, Saudi Arabia which is the largest oil producer will start PetroYuan, then it's the start. To my knowledge, it hasn't been happening but they were very friendly with China since the time Joe threatened to make them Pariah.

The BRICS members however are already agreeing about this de-dollarization except India which opposed it since Modi wants Ruppee to be the one than Yuan.

Such a lucky win.  Congrats!

All I thought offers like these are actually scams but you really hit the wagering requirements so that is quite a guarantee that Bitcasino will allow you to withdraw Assuming you will also submit the KYC. Most casinos today will not give you the pass without it. If they hold it or 48 hours I can understand or maybe even week. That's what I read in some threads where users are trying to withdraw a sum.
