So where do you guys place Bitfury in terms of delivering on promise schedule as per them Huh

That issue in terms of 'delivery" has a harsh meaning to us former BFL customers (probably down 8K) I ordered my stuff in April 2013 (the same month KNC became a company and posted such)...and it is still gonna be 3 weeks at best for my 65gh from BFL (sorry I digress)

So if I remember right "Bitfury" may be legitimate as heck...but I don't think they take Paypal , Paypal with credit cards nor do they I think take regular credit cards like KNC ...so once burnt I'll stay away till such happens..I did a bank xfer with BFL and could have easily gotten my $$$ back by reversing charges at this point...but w/o a credit card or even using your banks debit card (usually have a cc mine is backed by visa) .....I am crap out of luck....

I'm not gonna play that game ever again ...so learn from my mistakes..only pay by credit card.....look at TerraHash as far as I can determine the chip maker was at fault and did not get him the chips ..I think it was Avalon...so even if the mnfg is legit stuff can still happen where  you hold the bag.

IMHO the asic mnfg companies are gonna have to step it up and do as KNC has done at least paypal with cc and direct cc payment as well.

on a side note people tout Cointerra ...and cointerra flaunts the fact it has high tech people and big money behind their product (not harsh I wish them luck) but for asic mining companies to blow smoke and say they can't get paypal or cc options for their customers is a bunch of hoohey

KNC got cc direct payment visa master card and paypal  and got the paypal cc option like 1 month after they STARTED the company and a couple months later got direct cc payment

and KNC has only existed maybe 6 months...

anyway to me it smells that so many 'choose' not to have paypal or cc options imho..want you to have ALL the risk...

so will stay away from anything that is not KNC  who has stated they can't get  cc options  or paypal imho...for the time being I'd rather wait on KNC

and of course anyone reading this does not know about BFL google them ..you will see to run away....they take paypal but don't deliver for more then 1yr

anyway

live an learn from my mistake

my 2c worth

I see this statement an awful lot... "I will only use a credit card to buy ASIC miners."

Huh

So what good are Bitcoins if the people who mine them won't even use them to make purchases?!  It sounds like we don't really have a need for BTC.  Credit cards are good enough, apparently.

What it says to me is that there is one hell of an opportunity for c.c. companies to have bitcoin denominated credit cards!

I found this after work :

Dammit, I hate UPS !!!
I never received a call and never called them.
It's too late now to call, I hope that it isn't an other person that is trying to get my miners !
Wow... I'd be there as soon as the doors open tomorroww...  With a TaserGlock 17!!!

FTFY. We are talking about UPS here. No central nervous system to affect.
3203  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Klondike - 16 chip ASIC Open Source Board - Preliminary on: October 08, 2013, 05:01:54 AM
Has anyone been in personal communication with Bkk to let us know if he's alive or still working on this project ?

I would hope both could be true! Not sure I want a zombie designing circuit boards...
3204  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 08, 2013, 04:58:00 AM
DID ANYONE RECEIVE KNC UNITS TODAY? AND IF SO, ORDER #/PAY DATE PLEASE??

trying to gauge more or less where knc is at as far as shipping queue/order #/pay date?? thanks.

I have a day 2 shipping order, still don't have the tracking number

Ditto here - two separate day2 units with no tracking number - they've been "in progress" since October 1st - and two 35x units that were in the first 500 ordered - supposed to be shipped by order number position - that are still just sitting at PAID.

Just to throw a bit of kerosene on the fire:

I have several times in the last 3 years received something I bought before UPS bothered to update me on shipping. At least three times I got my tracking number via email two days after I had my merch. Wasn't anything as expensive as this, but UPS is not exactly the most organized or reliable company out there. Dunno how they are in the wide world, but in the US, I would prefer FedEX over UPS period. I have had UPS claim they couldn't find my address when I lived literally three blocks from their distribution center. I got on my roof and flashed a mirror through their office window while I was on the phone just to make my point. Still took 'em two days. Granted, that was an extreme example, but it's the kind of company they are. They either get it right the first time, or they screw a dozen donkeys and deliver your shit to lower slobovia.

Yeah, I couldn't agree more, the pre-sales model is exhausted, it's also untrusted and hated. No prizes for guessing which companies are responsible for that. An IPO could be interesting if priced correctly and conducted professionally.

Good luck with the development.

Smiley

As good as IPO might look we do not see it as a possibility. Also it is quite costly to list the company and it will require resources which we do not have at our disposal at the moment (time and personnel).

Thank you for the wishes.

I will accept you at your word for the first round, as setting up an IPO has a lot of costs associated with it. But, if you are successful with this round, it might very well be worth looking into for future development.

What I am seeing in the ASIC market in general (not real familiar with your company, so if I totally miss the mark, either ignore me or correct me Smiley ) is that they are, do to the novelty and speed of the model, unable to secure outside funding in any great way. Thus, no room for absorbing some loss to get the next more efficient process rolling. So if you could get past that point, an IPO might very well give you the kind of maneuvering room you need to become a big player.

Just my 2 cents worth. I'm not pre ordering anything at the moment from anybody. I actually think your pricing model is quite fair. If I had the money to bet, I'd bet on your company and hedge it with KNC, who have largely proven themselves. The community seems to behind you on trust as well. I have heard good things about your FPGA units from a number of people who had no reason to lie to me. Unfortunately, I got into the game just after that was relevant Smiley

Best of luck, and if my fortunes change, I might just order a couple units from ya.
3206  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 07, 2013, 10:54:39 PM
So if the  order queue is so sacred,  Why did they give a miner away for free?  When there customers who paid months ago waiting for theirs?   Is there something i missed?

I could be wrong on this, but I think they announced their sponsorship of the Life On Bitcoin couple a few days before they opened the orders.

Plus, the conference was a set date, and they would be fools to miss the PR opportunity. It's just one unit, shouldn't affect the shipping queue in any way, and shuts up a whole load of naysayers in addition to promoting their product.

I would have done the same thing. It's just good business.
3207  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 02, 2013, 07:15:15 PM
PLEASE GIVE ME MY UNIT.
Shut up or I will kick you in your unit.

Dammit Phoenix, stop reading my mind!!!

what the f... happen with bitcoin rate???

Silk Road was busted, Dread Pirate Roberts is a killer and people is crapping their pants.

True story: http://krebsonsecurity.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/UlbrichtCriminalComplaint.pdf

Fuck me sideways.  Angry Why the hell can't shit like this EVER happen when I have money to spend???

All this hashpower coming, SR busted, floor drops out on a panic, guaranteed profit. DAMN!

I was just thinking the same thing, I have no way to quickly move USD into an exchange to buy BTC.

Seen this ? www.plus500.co.uk/ ..unless you mean just buying to hold. Recovering now, catching that little spike with leverage would have been nice. lol

My problem is no money to move into an exchange, even if that link did me any good in the USSA.

Yeah, I was talking buy to hold. This is a panic sell, and will likely rebound even higher, since if this isn't bullshit, it'll make the mainstream media by tonight, which will increase the exposure of bitcoin, which will drive more people to look at it.... Mr. Barnum was correct, in the long term. There is no such thing as bad press.

May I ask how you can seize BTC ?
Do they have them in their wallets or at least the private keys ??

That's simple. They had kept a hot iron on his chest until he revealed all his passwords and private keys.
If the "kiev" in your nick refers to a location, then I'd say that maybe you're confusing the methods of the US FBI and NSA with the methods of your country's former "guests" the KGB.

I doubt it. KGB was more professional than "our" boys.

hm, get me right please, I'm seriously wondering and do not want to spread any FUD or panic

since the US budget issue is not resolved now the nasa website http://www.nasa.gov is down, you cannot visit Statue of Liberty, and many other things...
..are customs still working ?

This is simply a political stunt. Customs is one of the places they steal money. It will be open.

These guys have been pulling allnighters. I hate you all. By the way, there is a reason as to why there was a slight delay. Rem I said Marcus is a perfectionist, and Sam is the one cracking whip about delivery being the greater priority. Well some middle ground was reached somewhere in between which I can't talk about. I'll let Sam take the honour there. Wink

Perhaps some people are unable to read any text which doesn't come with a meme image and from a user with a urinary-tract-infection-yellow ignore button? Smiley

You'd be surprised how easy is to get that urinary infection on this forum. Me for instance got decent yellow button in a few days for a few posts claiming some obvious things about KnC in main KnC thread. It was worth it, learned a lesson never to speak to a deaf ear on the internetZ.

Why you?

I probably was about fifty percent in agreement with you on the thread, but I never thought you posted anything particularly outrageous or "ignore" worthy.

That's because you like to hear some opposite arguments to form an opinion, but some people don't like to have an opinion. They like to be in a herd an only hear the noise of their own herd.

Let's put this thread to oblivion of no new posts update, few were interested in gmaxwell's arguments.

Mr. Maxwell has been nothing but cool to me, so I took it in the spirit offered. I disagree with his conclusion, as what they have done isn't egregious. I don't disagree with his observation in general. Those that jumped him for the policies of the operator of the forum have an axe to grind with someone else. My axe is unrelated to the forum, since I'm a fuckin' rebel by any definition you care to root out.

But yes, I like to hear all sides of an argument before weighing in. I frequently have my own take that ain't on any "set" side. Probably how I wound up an anarchist Smiley (and much earlier, captain of the debate team)
3214  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 02, 2013, 08:37:32 AM
Yes, why not, US government is the only1 where instead save the $ just rise the debt, the second crisis will by like chain reaction, less folks working for fed ect.  Maybe Obama will star mining too Smiley or just get btc income tax  Cheesy

Ok, gotcha. Just didn't understand your abbreviation.

I am an american by birth. I deliberately don't capitalise it, because that implies "citizenship" which to me means conceding ownership.

The ideals of the revolution, while rather convoluted, were still based on individual liberty and the idea that men should stand alone to the best of their ability, and have the government under their collective control to a great degree.

That has been utterly lost. On the Caucasian side, my ancestors fought a war to throw off the tyranny represented by a 5 percent income tax. I think most of us would fight FOR that today, if we thought about it. On the Cherokee side, my forefathers fought for the right of existence. They sort of won, but got relegated to prisons tepid swamps hellholes reservations.

Give a government an inch and they'll take your country.

Or, as I think a Rothschilde said, "I don't care what form of government a country has, If I can control it's currency". (paraphrased).

These are some of the reasons I'm so interested in bitcoin.

All the $ notes being counted here are false - they have the same serial number. Wink

Not to mention that they are Federal Reserve Notes.

se. crisis? Sorry, didn't follow.

Well, better more choices than more scammers.  Grin

True Dat!

And it would be nice for an ASIC manufacturer that's legit to be on my side of the Atlantic. Even fairly close to where I'm trying to end up at, though that will be significantly after he's projecting delivery. And after the BFL fiasco, I think we "murricans can use some better rep!
3218  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 02, 2013, 06:46:29 AM
I really doubt they shipped anything yesterday because nobody confirmed receiving tracking info. Also nobody from day 1 with hosting confirmed receiving any info on accessing the hosting portal and nobody confirmed activity on their pools (for testing)

However, I do hope units are assembled at a good pace!

I was following Megabigpower's bitfury units for most of the time they were getting ramped up, and a lot of people's units were shipped before they received any tracking info, as the team was busy shipping. Granted, it's a smaller outfit, but not by that much. I could see much the same happening here. They get it all out the door and THEN update.

Breathe, people. I think it fairly obvious now that they aren't going to screw you. They are only a couple of days behind the bitbet, which ain't bad. They did say they hoped to ship before the end of september, but the only "writ in stone' date they've published, that I am aware of, was Oct 15th.

BTW, even though I've been something of a cheerleader here myself, if I'd had coin to gamble I would have bet "no" in the bet. I would have been happy to lose, but I try to gamble realistically, and they did one hell of a job just coming close!

Fair enough on shipped rigs, but doesn't explain no hosted rigs hashing does it? Their schedule for those was hours after leaving the production line, which I always thought optimistic, but a day ..should be a few surely?

Wish I could answer that. The closest to an insider I have is being friendly with Bitcoinorama. And he ain't told me anything he hasn't said in public.

the english language is constantly changing and evolving all the time. When the usage of certain sayings or phrases becomes wide spread, that lexicon is integrated into the language and accepted as norm, whether it is grammatically correct or not. This is why we do not speak Yinglish the same the way they did a 100 years ago.  Tongue
True. But this is a technical term, being used in the correct context incorrectly. A bit different from street slang, dontcha know?
