  Thanks

    I will try again.

I am inclined to donate it  as second prize in the Nov. contest.   I can tell  that for a prize it is nice,

but that mining  with and selling the rest on ebay  won't be as easy as it was with AM's block eruptors.

Does anyone have any idea why the transactions are taking so long the last 2 days? yesterday I had one that took 1132 minutes to confirm. today is better, But still taking a long time went from 5 min per. 3 days ago now 48 min per. and the 1123 yesterday is just wrong. So any idea what is going on?Huh

Blockchain confirm that is.

From the pool pay-outs or your own?

Transaction time depends on the network congestions (the amount of outstanding transactions) and how high up your transaction is in the queue (the size or outright absence of a transaction fee).

the 1123 min. one was from Bitminter yesterday. the confirms today are from me paying out. so this is normal? I have never had a transaction take more than 20 minutes to confirm. I guess the one from bitminter that was stuck from yesterday was holding all the later trans. up. I am good now, they have all confirmed. I was worried something was wrong with the network.

I would think that btc price of 320usd or more has made for more transactions. Think of a person that held coins from Last years price of 10 usd. I would think he is selling now.  I would also think outsiders to btc are buying coins like stock .

This pool is great, but I feel like the Terra Hash and its minig pool competitors out weigh by a lot.

Also, "name coin" is pretty useless. If it were LTC, that would be a different story.
I wonder how hard it would be to add / change that.

It's impossible,
BTC & NMC use 'sha256' hash and LTC uses 'scrypt' hash

Well, that said... another sha coin thats better than NMC and still managed would work then wouldn't it ?

No, NMC is currently the only coin that can be merge mined with BTC.

Namecoins are far from worthless too.  Currently they are $0.64 each on BTC-e.  All of the other SHA coins are worth far less than NMC.

Yes - Stephendaley is officially the awesomest miner on bitminter at the moment.  He may not be in the lead for the race, but he deserves some kind of special commendation!

5.8GH at 511 million difficulty would average 0.00569 BTC/day.

Everyone tells me "aw, you pay to  much to mine at the Guild", but then finding out about the perks and  you are actually paying fees equaling to almost that of the Guild it almost doesn't make much sense to switch pools for a lesser fee, right?

Bitminter pool is new to me. I've been mining at BTC Guild with good results but when BTC prices kept getting higher the less and less I was making. It just didn't seem right and I can't take hours out of my day to understand how it all works. They have a %3 fee, but Bitminter has fees also. That %1.5 prepay fee that defaults plus the standard fee right? I'm just learning my way through all these pools trying to find a good home permanently. One thing that the Guild does have is a manual payout process. Why doesn't any of the pools have this? Since I'm dealing with so little amounts here, it is nice to have a manual payout process. Maybe Bitminter has it and I'm unaware of it?

Anyway, I switched over to Bitminter around 5pm EST today and I'll see what kind of rewards I have tomorrow around this time. That should at least give me an estimate of a 24 hour earning period, right? Maybe this will be my new home. I only have 275Gh/s of hasing power and my Dad also has the same. I'll be bringing him along with me if the numbers are good here. Right now I left the prepay FEE on, as I wanted to find out if other pools do that same "perk" or not. Is that a standard thing to do or do all pools just pay right away? God the questions.
Well hello.

Yes, historically difficulty has dropped, though not often. If you go back to the Fall of 2011 difficulty went from 1.9 million down to 1.1 million (a drop of 40%) from August through December of that year. This was directly because BTC was dropping even faster: from about $10/BTC down to under $2.50/BTC. Miners were turning off their GPUs and selling them.

Don't count on this scenario to repeat itself anytime soon.
