1341  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin mixing is NOT money laundering, per se on: December 02, 2023, 04:44:27 PM
Bitcoin mixing may not be money laundering, but money launderers use mixers to launder money. That basically means anytime someone steals crypto and sends them through a mixer, that mixer is now guilty in laundering money and all those associated with it could also be seen as breaking the law. So mixers are all basically just waiting for their own shutdown.
1342  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 02, 2023, 04:41:25 PM

Free the tatas. It does feel like this. The market wants to go up over $40K but something is holding the line at $39K for dear life. I imagine it will break in time as there is clearly plenty of upward pressure on the price currently. I don’t think we spend another week below $39K. There is just too much demand at the moment.
1343  Other / Meta / Re: Theymos, when KYC will introduced? on: December 02, 2023, 04:38:39 PM
If you are talking about this forum, there will be no KYC.

Even those social media do not require KYC, not to talk of forums.

This isn’t exactly totally true. Some of us have already provided this forum with KYC information in order to properly be taxed for our income here. While I’m sure this is a very small number of users, it is a fact that users here have already had to provide this information, in my case several years ago, so it isn’t a totally crazy idea.
1344  Other / Meta / Re: Mixers to be banned on: December 02, 2023, 01:44:12 AM
This has long been coming and there really was no other possible outcome. Surely this will cause a bunch of people to become angry over the loss of income, but as I said, it was only a matter of time. I’m sure theymos held out as long as was reasonable to do so before making this difficult decision, but in the end there really wasn’t any other way to go.

Hopefully those who retaliated against me using the trust network for stating these uncomfortable facts before they became facts will rethink their actions.
1345  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: when did KawPow take off in earnings. on: December 02, 2023, 01:38:29 AM
It is pretty crazy. The price doesn’t seem to be that high so maybe some miners came off the network or something? I haven’t explored it much. I am surprised to see that even my old 1080ti rigs are once again profitable as a result. Those babies just keep on bringing profits year after year. Amazing really.
1346  Economy / Goods / Re: ~ Buying a TESLA CYBERTRUCK with BITCOIN ~ on: December 01, 2023, 11:54:00 PM
It looks like this is the range extender that takes the Cybertruck to 470+ miles of range on a charge. Leaks on the website also suggest it will have a $16,000 price tag. I’m not sure if it would be worth it, but I’m sure in certain situations it would be nice to have. I think it would have been cooler in the bed storage space, but maybe there will be aftermarket options.

1347  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should altcoins be blamed? on: December 01, 2023, 07:30:36 PM
The whole idea of wanting to invest in Bitcoin but then buying alts is ridiculous to me. People buying alts aren’t hoping to invest in good tech that is changing the world. They’re hoping their altcoin follows Bitcoin’s value rise so they can get rich quick and easy. Those types of people will always go broke and blame something. It’s best to not pay attention to them.
1348  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why sports betting? on: December 01, 2023, 07:26:53 PM
Reasons I'm into sports betting are simply because I love sports precisely football, and secondly that is the area of sports which I'm good at predicting, so I rather stick to betting on what I love and understand as gambling is both for fun and profit. I play football and understand things about football and that brought my interests generally for sports betting.
Sport betting is more profitable than many of the casino games that many people play in casinos that could be hard for one to make profits. Sport bet is one of the most interesting games we can bet on because the house does not have an edge on who is going to win or lose. Many casino games can be manipulated or programmed in a way that the house would have edge more than the people who are the gamers and gamblers. Once we understand this, we can advance in sport bets and bet more with higher probability of winning.

The house does have an edge with sports gambling. You just don’t see it the way you do with other forms of betting because the odds are adjusted to make sure they keep their edge. Franctoshi hit the nail on the head though that gambling on sports you watch can increase your entertainment watching by something you already enjoy.
1349  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 01, 2023, 07:24:30 PM
We got just at 39k or 38999 still new AYH

keep climbing.

Sure feels like we’re going to end the year above $40,000. I’d be surprised if we didn’t at this point. The market has been steadily rising for over a month now with no signs of slowing down. Pretty exciting considering we’re still a year away from when the market should be lifting off. I think we’re still just recovering from the FTX fraud.
1350  Economy / Goods / Re: ~ Buying a TESLA CYBERTRUCK with BITCOIN ~ on: December 01, 2023, 11:47:18 AM
I did finally receive communication from Tesla about my preorder. I guess this is how they’re trying to keep preorder holders who need a new car immediately happy. It read the following:

Cybertruck is Here
And your reservation is in the queue. While you await delivery of your Cybertruck, get $1,000 off the lease or purchase price of a new Tesla.* Place your new order by December 31, 2023, to qualify.
1351  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 01, 2023, 08:36:11 AM
Back above $38K and pressing against resistance. The 90 day chart makes it look like the market has been steadily rising for several weeks now. I wouldn’t be shocked if this continues right through the end of the year and left us above $40K for New Years. People are starting to take notice of Bitcoin’s performance this year.
1352  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 01, 2023, 07:31:40 AM
Friday is bringing us a couple of great matchups we can watch on ESPN. The first game is likely to be the Eastern Conference Finals matchup this year with the Boston Celtics facing the Philadelphia 76ers. Then the late game could very well end up being the Western Conference Finals matchup this year between the Phoenix Suns and Denver Nuggets.
1353  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Stand with Dublin and ireland on: December 01, 2023, 04:20:12 AM
I don’t blame Ireland in that they are fed up with what is happening to their country. Unfortunately, this is the way of the world right now and so far countries haven’t been able to resist the rush of immigrants and all the things they bring with them. Globalism is real and developed nations are likely to face a lower standard of living going forward as a result.

Are you implying because of globalization and all the processes behind it, the standard of living within all around the plant will start to get to an average, or something like it?
Because, in my opinion, if laws within the so-called first world countries were respected as they are supposed to, a new affluent of people moving to a new society would not matter.

Also, In the case of the United States, it is a country which was build by immigrants and most of the people living there are descendants of immigrants. It is a different thing if you start to consider the color of the skin of those immigrants or their country of origin, though. Immigration can bring challenges but also good things, when handled properly.

Yes, I am saying that globalization is going to be disastrous to the “West” way of life. Most people have no idea how bad things are going to get from the loss of the dollar as the reserve currency alone, add in an influx of immigrants and you have an economic nightmare on your hands. This is going to start being very clear very soon.
1354  Economy / Reputation / Re: After Chipmixer, Is Sinbad.io Next To Be Shutdown? on: December 01, 2023, 04:12:03 AM
Mixers will basically always fall victim to their own success. As soon as someone pulls off a hack and utilizes the service, it will be seized. This has been shown to be true time and time again now. I think in the future people will look back at the operators of these mixing services and think they were quite brazen to be operating so out in the open and even paying to advertise.

Looks like their signature campaign manager has locked their thread and is saying they aren’t going to release any funds from escrow… Bold strategy. Let’s see how it pays off for them.
1355  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 01, 2023, 04:05:57 AM
The Detroit Pistons are moving themselves towards record setting territory with how bad their start has been this year. They lost another one tonight to the New York Knicks bringing their record to 2-17. It doesn’t say much for the argument that the NBA needs expansion teams when they already have teams that can’t compete as it is.
1356  Economy / Goods / Re: ~ Buying a TESLA CYBERTRUCK with BITCOIN ~ on: December 01, 2023, 12:39:55 AM
Pretty disappointed at the $30,000 prince increase on the AWD.  I am priced out. May buy a model Y or a base Lightning.

I think a lot of people will be priced out. This definitely isn’t the $40K truck that was teased to get preorders. I think these prices will likely deter a lot of resellers too. I am glad to see an extended range option but if it takes up bed space that is probably not a realistic option. You can see a bunch of accessories that Tesla is offering using the below link.

The Cybertruck towing a Porsche 911 faster than the Porsche can do a quarter mile was a pretty amazing clip.

Here’s the information everyone has been waiting on… With range being my key concern, I think the All Wheel Drive model is the way to go.

CyberBeast:
$99,990
320mi range, 2.6s 0-60
2024 release

All-Wheel Drive:
$79,990
340mi range, 4.1s 0-60
2024 release

Rear-Wheel Drive
$60,990
250mi range, 6.5s 0-60
2025 release

The excitement is building.  You can feel it even on this thread. We’re just a few hours away from getting all sorts of new information about the Cybertruck. If I were to guess, I would say people will probably complain about the range and pricing while Elon will most likely roll out the Cyberquad as a surprise. Maybe some cool features like the solar panel option will also be unveiled.
1359  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have You At Any Point In Time Blame Who Taught Or Led You To Gambling? on: November 30, 2023, 04:46:11 PM
It seems a little crazy to be mad at the person who put you on to gambling. That’s a dangerous attitude to have where you blame others for your personal decisions. I think people would be much better off learning to accept responsibility for their own actions and taking the consequences without trying to find someone else to blame.
1360  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling game is not good and everyone should stay away from it on: November 30, 2023, 04:44:17 PM
Gambling might be bad for irresponsible gamblers or people with addiction issues that aren’t wise with their money. For a lot of people though it’s a way to add entertainment to games they’re going to watch on tv or maybe add a little fun with their friends when watching an event. Like everything, a little fun in moderation is perfectly fine.
