1001  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Transactions stuck in mempool with Sparrow on: December 03, 2023, 04:21:47 PM
It is similar to the Sparrow website: https://sparrowwallet.com/

Avoid.

Sparrow support replace-by-fee to increase the fee.

It would be better to increase the fee of the last transaction until it is enough to get all the transactions confirmed.
1002  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin transactions - are we living in stone age? :( on: December 03, 2023, 04:06:59 PM
0.05000000 BTC: $1,979.94
Fees paid: 498.3K Sats - $197.32
A transaction that paid $197 this time is just the sender's fault, because bitcoin transaction fee is not as high as this. Or maybe the person's transaction has too many inputs or outputs.

As a community, what can we do to stop this madness? Or being decentralized, comes with its distinct downsides?
Use lightning network.

You can use side chain for making transactions, but which are not bitcoin but altcoins. Or use altcoins for making transaction. You can hold your bitcoin.
1003  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Pending transaction for 4 days with 35 sat fee? on: December 03, 2023, 01:50:11 PM
I doubt it's legit, especially when the website design isn't very well designed and there's no mention which pool used to perform acceleration. In addition, that user seems to perform SEO spam which is common occurrence on this forum.
Yes, it is a scam site. The fee to be paid for instant priority is $1067. Fee to be paid for highest priority is $35.

Instant priority
Highest priority

Those two seem more inaccurately used.

There are two instant priority.

Instant priority is stated to be 60 minutes. Highest priority to take 5 to 10 hours. Second instant priority to take 1 to 5 hours. The site domain was just created 2 weeks ago. It is definitely a scam site with little effort.
1004  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Btcaccelerator.info - fake transaction accelerator on: December 03, 2023, 12:42:28 PM
See two others ones: Are this scam sites or real? I am guessing they are scam sites

They want people to pay $1067 for instant priority. Lmao.
There are even two instant priority. Very lazy to do it rightly. I am wondering why some people will fall victims of this.

All "bitcoin accelerators" that were not offered by any mining pool is obviously scam. What i know about accelerators offered by mining pool are viabtc, antpool (free), and btc.com, but unfortunately the two of them stop their service.
Binance has a mining pool also and they provide acceleraion service. Mempool.space is also having acceleration service but not a mining pool. Just only the site that is not a mining pool that is legit as of now.
1005  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Wilfred Bonse arrested in connection to Patricia hack. on: December 03, 2023, 10:19:01 AM
What evidence do you have that Patricia isn't a scam company? I once mentioned on this board how Patricia stole my $200 Steam card not once. Other of my colleagues too.
I have friends that this happened to in other platforms. No one have the evidence that a site stole their gift card. As a Nigerian, I know what I am talking about. There are people that the gift card code is sent to them by someone else, not that they buy the card directly. Did you buy the card directly and sold it, or you were sent the card?

I guess you missed the part of the Police report on Patricia and the said link to the politician. Why would the Nigerian Police cleared Patricia from their Investigation book for only recovering 50m? That's not even 20% of the total lost fund.
As I read the whole news, I did not see any investigation carried out against Patricia. You can point to it in a quote.

You should not just make the conclusion at ones, the  ₦50000 is linked to ₦600 million of the stolen money.

Patricia is operated on Nigeria jurisdiction and if there is obvious scam on customers , the law automatically takes it place. The Patricia hack is semilar to the FXT guy who's currently serving life imprisonment. Same case with the Wanted NBA trader who's on the run.
This is completely different from FTX. FTX has not been hacked when SBF was arrested. SBF arrest was as a result of customers money misappropriation and not the hack. Patricia CEO did not misappropriate any customers money, at least what is revealed to people as of now.
1006  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Pending transaction for 4 days with 35 sat fee? on: December 02, 2023, 03:04:27 PM
But as Binance asks for 0.23208799 BTC  and Viabtc 0.2785056 BTC, while mempool for only $678.96 (!?) I guess waiting is the choice?
Paid accelerators are demanding too much and not worth using. Instead of paying too much, the best is to just invalidate the transaction by increasing the first (parent) transaction fee to invalidate other transactions. If he wants to pay coins to other addresses, he can send the coins to all other recipient addresses in one transaction and use fee rate that can make the transaction to have high confirmation priority. Or he can just increase the fee of the last child transaction, using fee rate that is significantly enough to make the transaction get confirmed.
1007  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Pending transaction for 4 days with 35 sat fee? on: December 02, 2023, 02:43:06 PM
Thanks for both responses.  I can’t bump the fee unfortunately.  Can anything else be done aside from keep waiting?
Which wallet are you using. Not a noncustodial wallet?

If it is a noncustodial wallet, you can import the seed phrase into Electrum to pump the fee if you want to invalidate the child transactions. But a wallet that flag a transaction to support RBF should also be able to pump the fee.
1008  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: One of the best Coin to invest in now ( you can't afford to miss it) on: December 02, 2023, 12:19:40 PM
I read observation from Charles-Tim, say dis topic suppose move to altcoin discussion, I no understand, I de feel say as we de discuss bitcoin matter for here say we still fit discuss Altcoin matters for here too? Unto say all of dem na cryoto matters, I think say we suppose discuss am, unless say di particular topic get issues, like as person don start similar thread.
This topic perfectly fit the local board. I did not even report it. What I mean is that the OP first created the topic on English board which you can see with the ninjastic link that I posted above. I reported the topic to be moved to altcoin discussion, I mean the first one he posted (on English board) that was later deleted. OP later translated it to Pidgin and posted it in local board. There is nothing wrong about this thread, we can discuss about any altcoin.
1009  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Wilfred Bonse arrested in connection to Patricia hack. on: December 02, 2023, 12:06:35 PM
Believe that PR stunt at your own risk; it was an elaborate scam by Patricia to reopen their scam company and regain the faith of Nigerians.
Can you elaborate on this. How is Patricia a scam company? What evidence do you have that it is Patricia that hacked their own exchange? An absence of an evidence, is an evidence as an absence.

Only 50m has been traced as reported by the police, and Patricia has been cleared of all charges in less than 24 hours, yet her customer has yet to be refunded. Patricia should have been imprisoned and the company's working licence revoked in a working country.
Who charges Patrica? I did not read anything about that. Very possible that the exchange may be under investigation, but I did not read anything about any charges. If I am wrong, you can give me a link.

With how it has been, it is Patricia customers that are most likely to be in lawsuit with Patricia, but I did not hear anything about that.

Why should Patricia owner (which I think you meant as Patricia) be imprisoned?

Normally I never took this matter really serious because it looks more like a staged scenario and I agree with Ige that the  license would have been revoked in a working country which simply means that nothing is real in Nigeria especially if you have the money and this is Patricia toying with people’s money and I believe a lot of negative things must have happened in cause of all this dramas and you should know that with news and stories like this, it will be very difficult for people to accept crypto in a country like ours.
Crypto is widely adopted in Nigeria. Most Nigerians are not even using exchanges that are in Nigeria, most Nigerians make use of foreign exchanges.

Secondly, if the license of the exchanges that are hacked should be revoked, most known exchanges like Binance, OKX, Kucoin and most other exchanges licences should have been revoked because most exchanges have been hacked.

Recently Poloniex and HTX (formerly known as Huobi global) were hacked. HTX was hack two times this year. Most well known exchanges that were hacked since 2020 were able to reopen after short period of time and refund their customers. I can blame Patricia because it has been long before the exchange open withdraw, and not yet to all his customers.

But I know that if truly Patricia has paid all his customers, it would be declared in the public.
1010  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: The enemy of success on: December 02, 2023, 10:05:14 AM
Take for example in crypto procrastinating when to buy and sell too can be dangerous. Take buying an asset like Bitcoin for example if we keep procrastinating when the price falls to a very low amount then we buy that time might never come similarly for selling if one keeps procrastinating when to sell the market might just take them off balance and they might end up selling below a major profit or selling at a loss. Procrastinating is a danger to growth and productivity
If you have the money to invest on bitcoin but not buying, it might not be procrastination. It is not procrastination if you make analyses and see the market to be in favour of the bears.

But if you do not make that kind of analysis and just want to buy, or you know already that bitcoin is undervalued and the recent happening in the market is showing more signs of the bulls dominating, having naira to buy but not buying and postponing when to buy, that is procrastination. This will definitely be what will happen to some people and they will only later noticed that they are late already when the price of bitcoin has gone up significantly.
1011  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: You done recive your own on: December 02, 2023, 09:48:52 AM
Let's assume that this is true, My few questions regarding this are,
1.  What criteria was used to selecting the household that the said 25k would be given to and when was the selection done?
2. If a government is giving it citizen a renewed hope, is it through a policy like this or won't it be better you use this money to train people to becoming skilled at something so they can be of help to themselves. Mind you, that 25k isn't even enough to take care of an adult for two weeks in this current economy.
3. Where is my own share of the money?   thus is the most important question they have to answer because that 25k go really help my life this morning.
I was told that some people have collected theirs. Let me repeat myself again, I was told. I have not seen anyone close to me directly that received anything.

I have not filled any form to be eligible for it.

Make more research, but this is the form one of my relatives gave me some weeks ago for it: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSciS7DW25pLiZaz-y_YhUAGZUoKM-V2-Whi2r46NTMdya5gsw/viewform?usp=sharing

This are also included on the WhatsApp message that I got it from:

Quote
25,000  program for 3 months.

Let's try to do it,

You will be asked this
1- Tenant
2- Landlord

Whichever one you choose is right, but the 1st one is ok

The cost is 75,000 for 3 months which is  25,000 per month.
1012  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Pending transaction.. on: December 02, 2023, 09:33:28 AM
I'm using exodus on my iphone and my balance doesn't include the pending transaction amount.   Is that snapshot is a desktop version?
You can not use Electrum on iPhone, but you can use it on Android. If you need iPhone wallet that you can use child-pay-for-parent, you can download Bluewallet.

https://bluewallet.io/

Bluewallet indicates it as pump fee.
1013  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Pending transaction.. on: December 02, 2023, 09:05:28 AM
I have a pending transaction received on exodus wallet that has no confirmations for 5 days.   Can I import the seed phrase on to Electrum to use the this method, child-pay-for-parent?   Also, on mempool.space it shows the fee rate at 44.2 sat/vB and effective fee rate 18.2 sat/vB, what does that mean and how much should i set the fee on Electrum?
Exodus is a close source wallet and not a wallet that I can recommend.

But you can do child-pay-for-parent on Exodus.

What if I get a warning about paying extra fees?
If you try to send out your Bitcoin from a transaction that is not yet confirmed on the blockchain, Exodus will warn you that you are paying higher fees for spending an unconfirmed transaction. This will create a CPFP transaction.

You'll also receive this warning if you are sending out lots of UTXOs or a very large sized transaction that will incur higher-than-usual fees.

CPFP transaction fees are higher to incentivize miners to include the transaction in the next block mined. Make sure you’re willing to pay the extra fee before proceeding.

If you don't want to pay the extra fees, you can wait for all of your incoming transactions to be confirmed on the blockchain before sending a transaction out.

The child transaction can be into your own address, or using one stone to kill two birdy if you have a transaction to send to someone.
1014  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: If you were to convert your Bitcoin (BTC) to Fiat (NGN)…. on: December 02, 2023, 08:17:46 AM
I think you mean to convert fiat to bitcoin, instead of to convert bitcoin to fiat. If you do not have enough coins, you do not need to buy at once. But you need to hurry because the day United States SEC will approve spot bitcoin ETF is getting nearer. I think it will be between December 25th to January 10 based on what I have been reading online. But the price will still increase more as bitcoin will halve in April 2024 and more people will invest. Bitcoin is likely going six digits before 2026.
1015  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Verifying the PGP Signature to electrum? on: December 01, 2023, 06:55:32 PM
Go though this guide:

[GUIDE] How to Safely Download and Verify Electrum [Guide]

Or this:

In order to be able to verify GPG signatures, you need to import the public key of the signer. Electrum binaries are signed with ThomasV's public key. On Linux, you can import that key using the following command: gpg --import ThomasV.asc. Here are tutorials for Windows and macOS. When you import a key, you should check its fingerprint using independent sources, such as here, or use the Web of Trust.
1016  Other / Meta / Re: Mixers to be banned on: December 01, 2023, 06:46:01 PM
Hosting the forum on a US jurisdiction was a wrong move after all. Move the danm thing to NK where the government don't give a fuck!!
I do not think this is a wise idea, because later, theymos and those that are behind this forum will be the government target as they will be seen as the ones promoting mixers.

If you want to make sure the ads are of better quality in general, then you should ban every bullshit that is advertised, no matter what the advertised product is.
Never mind I asked this. Did you read the OP?

So that is your decentralized forum?  Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin
No one says this forum is decentralized. It is actually centralized and we all know that.
1017  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What are the alternatives of mixers with the legalities? on: December 01, 2023, 06:22:05 PM
This thread is a little the similar to this thread: best coinjoin wallets

Because this forum wants to ban mixers does not mean mixers are not existing anymore.

You can also be converting bitcoin to monero and back to bitcoin on decentralized exchanges.
1018  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: best coinjoin wallets on: December 01, 2023, 04:12:21 PM
Whirlpool in Sparrow and Samourai. Also Jointmarket if you run your own node.
1019  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: One of the best Coin to invest in now ( you can't afford to miss it) on: December 01, 2023, 02:56:38 PM
I remember I reported your topic to be moved to altcoin discussion, but it was deleted:

https://ninjastic.space/topic/5476186

After it was deleted, you translated it to Pidgin and post it on local board.

There is no one that will not know doge on this local board.
1020  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: What influences your decisions on: December 01, 2023, 09:45:59 AM
Trading can be a means someone can make money, but it should not be considered a full time job. It will only mislead new traders and they may likely see it as gambling after losing coins/money. Trading is very similar to gambling, only just few differences. They are both highly risky.

To make it in trading, you have to follow the trading rules, not letting emotion to change your trading plan. You should not use more than the amount of money that you can not afford to lose to trade. If you have $1000, not going more than $50 to $100 is better. Not using leverage, or be using low leverage. Some traders can start to trade with just $20 from the $100 they have, but later increasing the money if the market is not favoring them but not go more than $100 and not using high leverage.

Investment is different, but many altcoins are shitcoins and not worth investing on. If you want to invest on good coins like bitcoin, make research about when price can increase and fall and know when to buy. Right now, bitcoin price will still increase, it is not bad to buy now. If the price reduces, do not sell, but wait until it reach all-time-high. Likely it will get to six digits some months after halving.
