941  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Taproot and bech 32 supported CEX on: December 11, 2023, 01:38:34 PM
But those two exchanges give you a choice to receive in Taproot address, which could be cheaper it terms of fees than send to native segwit or other types.
With the same inputs and outputs, the cheapest is bc1q addresses.
If the inputs is higher, example is when you are consolidating your inputs, bc1p is cheaper.
If you are sending to many addresses (high outputs) with 1 or few inputs, bc1q is cheaper.
942  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Taproot and bech 32 supported CEX on: December 11, 2023, 12:54:09 PM
All address types are compatible with each other. You can send from one address type to another.

I saw this article: https://www.binance.com/en/support/announcement/binance-will-support-the-bitcoin-btc-taproot-upgrade-8578eea0104f439c85f50fbdc99bf7c2

You should be able to receive bitcoin with your legacy address or segwit version 0 address on Binance if you send the coin from pay-to-taproot address.

If you are in any doubt, you can first send to a noncustodial wallet that is segwit version 0 before sending to an exchange.

Segwit version 0 addresses start from bc1q.

944  Economy / Economics / Re: How come both the "gas" and "fee" prices shoot up without ETH and BTC move? on: December 11, 2023, 08:50:11 AM
For almost 2 days my transaction process was stuck and it had not been confirmed.
If your unconfirmed transaction is not more than 500 bytes in size, not less than 10 sat/byte, not having unconfirmed parent, you can use ViaBTC free accelerator to accelerate the transaction. If your txid is successfully submitted, your transaction will be confirmed in the next block mined by ViaBTC.

Isn't this a loss?
What loss are you referring to?
945  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: The so called fuel subsidy removal. on: December 10, 2023, 09:33:04 PM
No matter what, we should say no to corruption and embezzlement. These are parts of what that have crippled Nigeria into what is happening presently.

I can understand you, Obasanjo and Jonathan time were better. Especially Jonathan's time when Nigeria became the highest in GDP in Africa. The GDP increased significantly during Jonathan's time, and it is still higher than our GDP right now. But if not because of corruption and embezzlement, Nigeria would have been better than it was also in Jonathan's time.

The problem worsen in Buhari's time. He closed border and inflation started. It still continues this time. I can remember my neighbors were able to put on generator for 3 to 5 hours at night before Tinubu become the president. Either they do not on generator now or they put on the generator for just an hour. It is true that life was better without fuel subsidy removal. But we should still say no to corruption and embezzlement.

What valid reason do we have that the present government officials are not corrupt and embezzling money. Or what makes you think that corruption has reduced or that there is no more in Nigeria? Do not let us deceives ourselves.
946  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Always get alternative to your fund. on: December 10, 2023, 09:19:56 PM
My town is not in a way you will need to take a taxi/bike two or three times. I have friends, sellers that are my customers and neighbors. There is not place I am that I take bike, it is no more a problem for me to settle the bike man as long as I get to my street.

If I do not need cash, or want to buy something, I hardly take my ATM card along with me. When I am outside, I am careful with my phone. Only what will take the phone from me would be those that will threaten me with weapon.
947  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Why most beginners so much believe bitcoin can make rich on: December 10, 2023, 03:24:00 PM
@Y3shot
What I see about people around me is that they think they can invest in bitcoin to either make profit from it or lose. Because of the loss, some people do not want to invest at all but later not happy if the price of bitcoin has gone up.

Beginners believe bitcoin can make them reach because the price has always been going up in long term. As the marketcap is increasing, the price may not increase as it was before, but the price is still going higher in long term. It is not a wrong believe if they can research and learn when to invest and when not to invest.

If someone still invest in bitcoin in time like this, it is good because next year is halving and we are expected all-time-high.
948  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Better way to earn a merit on: December 10, 2023, 03:12:55 PM
It obvious am new here yea am a newbies. What make a post earn a merit ? What are the characteristics of a good post and how do we earn a merit for our post and other activities happening here and how is Bitcoin always important in the forums . So Member, full member, hero member, Lagendary and so on pls let have the tips thanks ❤️ #bitcoin Lords
When I first started to post on this forum, the first thing I did was that I went through the topics and posts that are given merits. I also looked for people that are merit sources and the posts they are giving merit. I noticed if you post something good and useful, you will get merits. I started to bring topics which are about scam on this forum and also about something related to bitcoin. Before I knew, I have my 50 merits.

It is not only about bringing the topics, also there are people that will post on your topic's thread. I read all their posts and reply when necessary. You replies can also be given merits. And you will grow.

The more you will grow and rank up, the meore you will understand more about this forum and know more about how to earn merit. Later, when I have spent some months on this forum, I started to respond fast to new topics. You can use forum notification or ninjastic telegram bot to track new topics. My replies are useful and constructive and I noticed the merit given me are more.
949  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Over use of opportunity on: December 10, 2023, 03:04:51 PM
The discussion is not about the over use of opportunity. Over use of opportunity because the state government do not allow the use of Keke driving as business anymore in your state? Like I said, it is not over use of opportunity. Also it will only be in the state capital. Or is the ban all over the towns in the state? This is common in a state that is becoming more well developed.
950  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Altcointalk forum go be our second online home? on: December 10, 2023, 02:49:26 PM
Your point is misleading! 80% of active accounts on altcointalk are teleported high ranking accounts from Bitcointalk.
If you have a statistical information about it, prove your point. I am still not certain that you are correct. If you are good on Bitcointalk, you will be lazy to do anything on Altcoinstalks which I am quit sure about.

I am not on the forum and I am not having any plan yet to register. So I do not have much information about the forum than the absolutely low traffic on Altcoinstalks.

This is not a comparison post because Altcointalk has always been in the shadow of Bitcointalk for a long time, but things are changing due to the forthcoming censorship on Bitcointalk. People value free speech, and removing it would leave this place as desolate as the desert.
Not comparing directly, but the reason I can not join the forum and the reason most likely good forum posters will not join that forum. Get that right. The traffic is 10 times lower or more than Bitcointalk.

Take bounties away from Bitcointalk and the traffic will fall drastically.

We already have the Nigeria Local board With child boards and that's something we have not been able to archive here.
This thread is not about taking bounties away from Bitcointalk. I have not seen anywhere theymos talked about that. Only mixers, and it is because of obvious reason. This is off-topic to bounties.

Also this is off-topic to Nigeria local board discussion.

Import your seed phrase on Electum tomseldn your coins.

If you are not still able to spend your coins. Click on view -> check ✔️ coins. On the GUI, click on coins -> right click and freeze the UTXOs that are very small to spend from before making transaction. Or select to spend on the UTXOs which are not dust and use them to make a transaction.

If you are using a mobile phone. Download Bluewallet. Import the sed phrase. Click on the wallet which is in blue, click on send -> the three dots at the upper right corner -> coin control. You can select UTXOs which are not dust to spend from.

If you want to be using open source wallet and leave close source Trustwallet, better to generate another seed phrase , keys and addresses on the open source wallet instead of using the imported seed phrase which is generated on a close source wallet.
954  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Air gapping on: December 09, 2023, 01:11:28 PM
I am in doubt in this.

There might be malware sitting in BIOS.
I do not think there is any problem if the flash drive used for the installation is not having malware. Reinstalling the OS has been the method that people are recommending.

One way that might work easier (somebody more knowledgeable should confirm) is to boot from a Tails USB and at boot time select (in offline mode settings) to stay without network (now the default is with network on). It's not my blog, I've found it on web search, but one of the last images on this page shows what I want to tell.

Of course that if you want to use it for air gapped wallet you may want o enable persistence and so on, hence still things to learn and check.
I hearrd that tails OS comes with Electrum installed. It would be a good option for airgapped devices.

I was thinking to remove the WiFi card and Bluetooth but my laptop Is inbuilt so If I want to remove this things i will have to unculple the laptop which might lead to damage.
You can check some YouTube videos for it. Just search it on YouTube and you will get some useful information that would be helpful.
955  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help me to calculate my trading profit on: December 09, 2023, 12:57:27 PM
This is trading, which is related to gambling. You can not always trade and win. Not a curse but that is just how trading is. Be it simple or compound interest, you can not have the right calculation because your calculations in reality and in relation to your trading would be only about profit while not considering the loss. The money that you can not afford to lose to trade with, do not use it to trade. Get your trading money, and do your calculations with just adding the profit and subtracting the loss to know your actual PnL.
956  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: How do we measure crypto adoption within our country. on: December 09, 2023, 12:50:04 PM
@Dailyscript
You can read the crypto adoption methodology used by analytic companies, like Chainanalysis annual report. An example is the link I posted along on this post. See below.

even though we never get an official statement regarding the adoption of crypto in the country, the frequency of it use and the popularity it has attained in the midst of most youth goes to show it acceptance in the country.
There are many of them, although not from Nigeria. Here is 2023 crypto adoption index 2023 by Chainanalysis. Nigeria is the second:

957  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Air gapping on: December 09, 2023, 12:35:00 PM
Removed the WiFi card and Bluetooth. Format and reinstall the computer OS. That will let you to be 100% sure that your device is 100% not having malware.
958  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: message Not enough funds. You need to set a lower fee. on: December 09, 2023, 10:44:20 AM
I think you are using 2fa wallet. If so, you will not be able to send funds without paying for the service.
To disable 2fa you need to select the corresponding option when restoring your wallet from the seed phrase.
Did you see that the amount of fee to be paid is more than the amount of bitcoin that OP want to send? So high fee like that can not be because Trustedcoin. Indo not think it is a noncustodial 2FA wallet but because of high inputs will likely be the reason.

And the service costs 0.5 mbtc, so you should just disable 2fa and send your coins.
The fees are:

Batch size                     Per transaction price               Batch price
Pay every 20 transactions:             0.000025 BTC/tx          0.0005 BTC total
Pay every 100 transactions:     0.0000125 BTC/tx         0.00125 BTC total

959  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Fake money is in circulation, let's be guided. on: December 09, 2023, 10:36:48 AM
If you are a seller and receiving naira, you would have seen someone paid you with fake money before. In bank, at the deposit, you will see fake money that has been perforated and attached to the wall for people to see. It has always been like that everytime. If you are not careful, or not careful enough, you would have been paid with fake money and be at a loss before you will realize. So it is not a matter of this time, but everytime.
960  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Altcointalk forum go be our second online home? on: December 09, 2023, 09:00:13 AM
How we see the matter?
People wey never register there, this one na update.
Boss CryptopreneurBrainboss, how about you go open service thread there, I don see other managers they open service thread for there.
We never know how next year go be shaa, but no effort wey waste.
Let us see the traffic in both sites.

For Bitcointalk:
https://app.neilpatel.com/en/seo_analyzer/backlinks?domain=Bitcointalk.org&mode=domain&locId=2566&lang=en

For Altcoinstalks:
https://app.neilpatel.com/en/seo_analyzer/backlinks?domain=Altcoinstalks.com&mode=domain&locId=2566&lang=en

Mixero campaign has been launches on the altcoins forum, but can you compare the pay with bitcoin forum one:

Bitcointalk:
[CFNP] Mixero ADVANCED MODE Bitcoin Mixer Signature Campaign | Sr+ up-to $250/w

Altcoinstalks:
[CFNP]Mixero ADVANCED MODE Bitcoin Mixer Signature Campaign | Ver: Altcoinstalks

For signature campaign, I see people active on Altcoinstalks as people that do not know how to rank up on Bitcointalk. Altcoinstalks daily, weekly, monthly and yearly traffic are significantly low if comparing it with Bitcointalk. It is a place of less opportunity.
