ViaBTC free accelerator can not be used for your transaction because your transaction size is 8422 bytes. Any transaction size greater than 500 bytes can not be accelerated. Also the fee rate you used is 8.551 sat/byte. To use ViaBTC free accelerator, the fee should not be less than 10 sat/byte. The transaction should not also have unconfirmed parent transaction.

You have no option than to wait until node your wallet is connecting to drop the transaction from their mempool so you will be able to respend the coin in another transaction. I will advise you to import the seed phrase on Electum so that ones a node connected to your Electrum wallet drop the transaction, you will be able to spend the coin. Some wallets will keep rebroadcasting the transaction instead, and not recommended.
984  Economy / Exchanges / Re: How do i unlock frozen fund on mexc exchange? on: December 05, 2023, 03:29:17 PM
If the OP use limit order and the trade has not yet been filled. Bitcoin trading volume is high, and high on MEXC. He can see where he can cancel the order (that is not yet filled) below where he placed the order. He can cancel it and change the 'limit order' to 'market order' to convert the coin.

Although, we do not yet certain if this is what OP is talking about or not. Uploading the screenshot here on this forum would be good for us to know what is actually going on with him on MEXC.
985  Economy / Exchanges / Re: How do i unlock frozen fund on mexc exchange? on: December 05, 2023, 03:12:47 PM
What could be the possible cause? I don know how to insert the screenshort for you to see what I mean.
You can use https://talkimg.com

To use it:
Click on 'start uploading image'. It will take you to the images you have on your gallery that you want to upload,  select the image that you want to upload and upload it. After you click on upload, you will see the 'BBCode full' link. Paste the image link on this forum.

You can adjust the height and width of the image by adjusting the number below, that you see on the image link that you want to upload.

Code:

986  Economy / Exchanges / Re: How do i unlock frozen fund on mexc exchange? on: December 05, 2023, 03:01:30 PM
MEXC is a centralized exchange. Contact the exchange customer care if you have a frozen fund.

But likely that your fund is not frozen. You need to explain what actually happened. Or you place a limit order and the order has not yet filled. Check if you have an order that is not yet filled.

Bit if your find is truly frozen, contact the exchange customer care.
987  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Is Samsung blockchain wallet safe? on: December 05, 2023, 02:14:04 PM
It is a mobile wallet and it is online.

Use cold wallet for savings or for the amount of money that you can not afford to lose.

You can use Electrum as a cold storage: https://electrum.readthedocs.io/en/latest/coldstorage.html

Or you can buy a hardware wallet like Passport: https://foundationdevices.com/passport/

Or you can go for a multisig wallet:

988  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: A noobie question about secret words on: December 04, 2023, 03:40:46 PM
I understood coins are being held on Electrum servers
Bitcoin is stored on the blockchain, not on Electrum server.

Orpichukwu is right, what that is most important is your seed phrase. If you have your seed phrase, you have your coins. If you use seed phrase and passphrase to generate your keys, you will also need the passphrase with the seed phrase to recover your coins.

You need your 12 recovery phrase or rather seed phrase...
It is worth knowing that seed phrase can be 12, 15, 18, 21 or 24 words.
989  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Mixers - Are we the product? on: December 04, 2023, 02:53:33 PM
What's the point then, of using a mixer, when your funds can be traced so easily? Do its methods of mixing really work, or could it be that this is intended functionality for someone to get the short end of the stick?
Not that your coins was traced, but it was noticed that coins was sent to you from an address that belongs to a mixer. So people that used Binance to receive coin from the mixer address were affected. But people that are using decentralized exchanges will not be affected.
990  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Mempool is congested, use ViaBTC free accelerator. on: December 04, 2023, 02:40:25 PM
What I noticed recently about ViaBTC accelerator:

The free submission is no more congested (you know what I am talking about). I mean the 100 transaction per hour which takes less than 10 seconds to have been used up, it is no more like that.

Your transaction may not get confirmed after ViaBTC mine the next block. It will take longer time but your transaction will still later be confirmed.
991  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: New transaction accelerator on the market - mempool.space on: December 04, 2023, 02:28:16 PM
The issue is, there's currently no user here in Bitcointalk that reported their experience with mempool.space's accelerator.
It would be great to have some legitimate feedbacks.
Since I have registered an account with mempool.space since some days ago, this has been what was displayed anytime I signed in:

Quote
You are currently on the waitlist. You will get notified once you are granted access.

I am not still able to have access to the accelerator.

I also doubt anyone that knows ViaBTC free accelerator will want to use any paid accelerator.

I noticed recently that ViaBTC accelerator free submission is no more congested all of a sudden, but transaction that has been submitted successfully may not get confirmed in the next block that ViaBTC mine. It is taking longer but it will still later be confirmed.
992  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Nothing beats keeping them safe but I really want to know on: December 04, 2023, 12:27:17 PM
12 words seed phrase is secure enough to protect your coins.

24 word seed phrase is having 128 bits of security just like 12 word seed phrase. If you do not let your seed phrase be seen by an attacker, both are secure enough.

I can see that some crypto wallets this days are giving their users the option to create new wallet using 12 recovery seeds or 24 recovery seed
It is worth knowing that seed phrase can be in 12, 15, 18, 21 or 24 words.
993  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum + Ledger Multisig? on: December 04, 2023, 11:56:26 AM
When creating a new multi-sig wallet, make sure to use the Master Public key that you previously used so you can reaccess the wallet address on the multi-sig wallet you created.
Did you mean master private key?

It is not 2-of-3 multisig wallet, neither the number of signature needed are more than the number of cosigners. To recover 2-of-2 multisig wallet, everything needed are the two seed phrases, master private keys or private keys.
994  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum + Ledger Multisig? on: December 04, 2023, 10:29:11 AM
What I understand is when a hardware wallet is connected to software wallets like electrum it creates something like a watch only wallet. A watch only wallet doesn’t have any risk because no keys or seed phrase is stored on it, just the master public key I think.
Watch-only wallet is created when you import master public key generated by seed phrase or master private key, or when you import address or addresses. This is not the same as when you connected your wallet to a hardware wallet, or when you setup a multisig wallet with a software wallet and a hardware wallet. You did not connect Electrum with the Ledger with 2-of-2 multisig, it is just that you will need the two wallets to make transaction.
995  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum + Ledger Multisig? on: December 04, 2023, 10:14:13 AM
Multisig wallet are more secure and safer than single signature wallet. There is increase in security in this wallet setup.

And since if I try and make a transaction on the electrum multisig wallet, I still need to sign it with the hardware wallet then broadcast it; it is an added security. Is my understanding correct?
I am not a Ledger wallet user, but if it is 2-of-2 multisig wallet, you will need the two wallets to sign the transaction.

From what I've understood, your keys never leave the hardware wallet when signing transactions, correct?
Yes, your Ledger seed phrase and keys never go online.

Also, if the hardware wallet gets lost, I wouldn't be able to spend the coins too unless I restore it on another device. Correct?
Yes.

998  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What are the alternatives of mixers with the legalities? on: December 04, 2023, 08:33:01 AM
It's not a perfect method but a simple way to get rather anonymized coins is to use 2 exchanges not requiring KYC. You can send your BTCs to the first exchange, converting your Bitcoins into another cryptocurrency there and then sending those coins from this exchange to the other one. On the second exchange you can convert the altcoins into Bitcoin and withdraw those funds to a fresh new BTC address. Those BTCs won't be connected anymore to your former BTCs on the blockchain. You can also use LN to send Bitcoins through the Lightening Network from your wallet and then withdrawing them from a platform or a submarine swap provider to an address on-chain.

This could work to cover up where your coins are actually coming from, and it does not cost too much (based on the transaction fees you pay), but there are some drawbacks you should know about.  Pretty much every exchange, even the anonymous kinds keeps logs of stuff like your IP address and the wallet addresses from where you put money in or take it out.  So if someone was really determined to track you down, they could get the logs from both exchanges and connect the dots right back to you.
Also that using coinjoin such much and more easier. You can access coinjoin directly on the wallet that is supporting it. Example of the wallet that is supporting coinjoin is the Whirlpool on Sparrow and Samourai. On such wallets, you do not need to send your coins to anywhere, just click on Whirlpool to access the coinjoin directly on such wallet.
999  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Please help verify if this a fake crypto exchange website on: December 04, 2023, 08:20:59 AM
You don't need anyone to tell you it's a scam mate, to be completely safe and not put yourself in any compromising situation know this any exchange or platform requiring you to pay any fee to get your funds has a high chance of being a scam.
100% of them are even scam. Or if I should make my statement more accurate, 100% of the ones that I know or that people told me are all scam. Although, it is good how the OP asked the question here, he has learned one more thing today.
1000  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: New transaction accelerator on the market - mempool.space on: December 03, 2023, 10:06:37 PM
The acceleration service is have used is viabtc for free it works perfectly for me but that is only when your transaction fee is less than 40 sat/byte
I think this is a typo. The fee should be at least not less than 10 sat/byte. The transaction must also not be more than 500 bytes. Also the transaction must not have unconfirmed parent.

Recently the free accelerator is difficult to use unless you wait for another one hour to submit your txid. It takes seconds for the 100 transactions to have been submitted now. Although, I am still using it and it is working.
