1621  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The government of my country always blame Bitcoin for their failure. on: August 16, 2022, 01:21:24 PM
Governments & Central Banks are never going to willingly allow bitcoin to thrive & become a worldwide medium of exchange. They’ll fight until they’re blue in the face but sadly for them, their resistance is futile & bitcoin is going to the moon. Nobody or nothing can stop honeybadger.
1622  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Looking for a crypto that won't depend on BTC anymore on: August 16, 2022, 11:21:37 AM
Cryptocurrencies are still such young, immature assets. Bitcoin is the King, probably always will be. Exchanges always have BTC-ALT pairings so it’s going to be a long time until that changes imo.
1623  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Africa needs a single digital currency to prosper. on: August 16, 2022, 10:03:51 AM
Lots of young Africa’s have started to adopt bitcoin over recent years. It’s mostly purely due to many of them unfortunately being unbanked. I don’t think many of them use it as an investment vehicle to try & get rich, it’s used as currency there which is cool.
1624  Other / Off-topic / Re: If you had to move from your nation to another nation, which would you choose? on: August 16, 2022, 10:00:45 AM
I’d move to a nation that has 0% taxes on bitcoin, specifically 0% capital gains taxes on bitcoin. I have researched it thoroughly for future reference.

There are many, some listed below.

1625  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mt Gox Upcoming release of funds to its creditors vs Btc Price on: August 13, 2022, 07:59:26 PM
I think some people will sell a % of what they get back but I doubt there will be many people selling all of the coins they get returned. These guys have watched bitcoin go from 3 figures to what it is now so I would imagine there will be a lot of smart people willing to HODL for a lot longer because they’ve seen the performance bitcoin has put in over all those years.

Whales could try & use the news to dump the price but I don’t think it’ll be as bad as some predict.

1627  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH could take over. on: August 13, 2022, 07:54:07 PM
ETH will never ever be worth more than bitcoin ($ value). That’s my simple prediction for you, I could get boring & talk about POW being a million times better than POS but I won’t.
1628  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Bitcoin so volatile?  on: August 13, 2022, 07:34:18 PM
It’s such a young asset so extreme volatility is to be expected. To be honest, volatility is your friend, bitcoin is the hardest money around. When bitcoin is in a large downtrend there aren’t many other investment opportunities so attractive. Volatility in your friend, use it to your advantage.
1629  Other / Off-topic / Re: What's your favorite subject in school? on: August 13, 2022, 07:31:58 PM
I didn’t enjoy school too much, I got bored easily & couldn’t concentrate. I got average grades but luckily for me I found bitcoin in 2015 & I made more money than anybody in my school year. I suppose if I had to pick a favourite subject I would say sports or English because I could cruise through that & pass without doing too much studying.
1630  Other / Off-topic / Re: A few reflections on online dating on: August 10, 2022, 07:23:06 PM
The mainstream dating sites are probably OK, I’ve never used them but I know people who do/have. I think it’s the way a lot of people meet guys/girls now. It’s a lot easier & less nervy to approach somebody online. Just be aware though, there are a lot of weird people online.

Be safe!
1631  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Papa John's store that made the Bitcoin pizzas in 2010 now has a plaque on: August 10, 2022, 07:05:57 PM
Cool, the staff look so happy in the photo Cheesy
It’s such a huge part of the early history of bitcoin. Maybe even people go there as a tourist attraction, that wouldn’t surprise me.

Any way, thanks for sharing. Always good to see something positive on the forum these days.
1632  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will be running in your mind if Bitcoin reaches $1000 again on: August 10, 2022, 07:03:25 PM
First of all I don’t think bitcoin will ever hit $1000 again, certainly not in our lifetime. If it did though, I would be worried because I have a lot of money stored in bitcoin. Once the worry passed though I would most likely put every fiat I have in because it’s he a great opportunity to make very easy profit.
1633  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Knowing Potential projects on: August 10, 2022, 06:56:44 PM
It’s a mine field investing in new, immature projects. You know what happens when you walk through a mine field? Most people get blown up. Some people hit winners but it’s mostly shitcoin roulette. I would advise to DCA into bitcoin & eth & forget about chasing the rainbow.
1634  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will you be in favor of Gold or Bitcoin !! on: August 08, 2022, 05:16:20 PM
Gold is useless rock which really can not be used as a mean of exchange. Gold is something that was useful centuries ago, I don’t see any great future for it.
The price has barely moved for decades too, pointless waste of time.

Bitcoin on the other hand is the best performing asset of the last decade. Make your decision wisely.
1635  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why I Disliked Bitcoin on: August 08, 2022, 04:47:13 PM
You must feel kinda stupid, OP. You really should be incredibly wealthy now it you weren’t so ignorant or risk averse in 2012. I started buying in 2015 because I knew it’d blow up. I don’t think I could live with myself if I stood on the sidelines & did nothing. Hopefully you bought enough in 2019 to have at least some exposure.
1636  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So we've gone from 1 meme coin to one hundred now ? on: August 08, 2022, 03:42:16 PM
They all have close to zero utility & chance of ever becoming a real life means of exchange. It’s just a shitcoin lottery & one I am not willing to play. Stick with the legitimate coins if you want a close to guaranteed chance of making it.
1637  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you assess the value of Bitcoin? on: August 04, 2022, 08:51:07 PM
Well if you have even a moderate time preference then there is never a bad time to buy bitcoin. Over time bitcoin always increases in value, it’s a deflationary asset, this is what it was designed to do. If you really want to time it well though then you do the opposite of what the masses do. You sell some when everybody is euphoric & Grandma’s are buying. You buy when everybody is crying & worrying, when mainstream media is saying bitcoin is dead etc.
1638  Other / Off-topic / Re: Smoking on: August 04, 2022, 07:51:41 PM
No I don’t smoke & nor should you. I’m not going to be too hard on you if you’re under 30 but if not please stop smoking. Think about your future, your family & your health. Why put yourself in danger of major disease? Look after yourself buddy, please think about it.
1639  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin and Antiviruses on: August 04, 2022, 07:45:06 PM
I uninstalled Mcafee on my laptop & turned Defender on, I’ve never had a problem. I do all recommended updates although I don’t use this particular laptop for anything other than bitcoin (reputable exchanges & Bitcoin Core) so my risk for downloading something nasty is very low.
