1302  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is a Store of Value on: March 18, 2020, 04:59:01 PM
Well, Satoshi meant for it to be used a currency just that it's finite supply also makes it suitable as a store of value. Until crypto enthusiasts learn how to hodl and really trust in bitcoin it's feature of being a store of value will never be felt because anytime there is any concern in the market people are going to dump it. Take a look at what's happening right now with the spread of Coronavirus

Hodl and ponzl was the cancer = segwit

This is a good reading

1303  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Antifragile Bitcoin Was Born To Thrive In An Economic Crisis on: March 18, 2020, 11:11:04 AM
BSV runs on same fundamentals...  Segwit not

either don't complain about SegWit or first remove every trace of it from BSV then start complaining about it. you can't have both and continue benefiting from most things that was introduced by SegWit and pretend you aren't using it.

that was done - only non-consensus / tech things are left to be removed soon

Fundamentals are as original BitCoin was designed for  - esp long term economics and legal compliance

P2P electronic cash, where coins have a trace of signatures - honest and tracable - as good money must be

... aaand most ppl did not get what SPV really is about - cause you need only miners for doing it as Satoshi designed
1304  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-03-13] Despite Bitcoin Price Dips, Crypto Is a Safe Haven in the Middle Ea on: March 18, 2020, 07:23:20 AM
@Jating. I would assume that the people who tell everyone that 1BTC = 1BTC consider it a currency and not a speculative investment. Ok, however, 1 bitcoin can buy lesser toilet paper, disinfectant soaps and hand sanitizers than when they bought bitcoin on $16k - $20k on December 2017.

Would you consider this as a safe haven?

Hmmm, 1 roll of toilet paper = 1 roll of toilet paper, thus, toilet paper is a safe heaven. But 1 bottle of sanitizer=1 bottle of sanitizer, so sanitizers are safe heaven.
Wait, we can extend this bs theory to everything!!!  Grin Grin Grin

Everything to also 1 scam ICO token = 1 scam ICO token?

@Betwrong. I reckon it presently appears to be a matter of speculation hehehe.

@hv_. There are safe havens. They are protected by large military forces supported and paid for by the people that use them.

sigh  - if sth NEEDS military forces - it is no safe heaven

But right: any ICO in crypto is a scam - incl ETH/ETC
1305  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is a Store of Value on: March 18, 2020, 07:19:20 AM
too many ponzi-like sales chills out there

keep it simple:

today: not really a SoV

Who on earth can predict the future? - so only if there is a big viral (lol) global adoption in terms of use (incl gov and regulators == global) -> than you can compare to gold / other comodities

today: bad SoV, bad volatile asset, not regulatory friendly instrument (next - see what Bitcoin ticker locked down the original protocol to be THE regulator friendly Bitcoin - that scales)

So. Fertig. Fertig?

The FED literally has no dry powder left.

It has plenty, but not without consequences.

The financial markets crashing touch one of the twin pillars (asset values).

Further steps will scratch the other twin pillar: treasuries/the dollar.

This pillar is the linchpin. Watch it the coming months to see whether all will fall down or this will have been another one of those ‘once a decade’ buying opportunities.

I agree with Wekkel here. The FED have unlimited firepower, don't underestimate them. Also don't watch the equity markets for when the FED pulls the trigger. They couldn't care less about that at the moment. Their focus is on the credit markets, they must absolutely not have a continuing credit freeze, and I can assure you the have the ability to fight it.

They can buy a lot of debt, government, corporate, even individual. And if liquidity issues persists they will continue doing whatever it takes.

not infinite - this will cause next hyper inflation and usd gonna be rekt after. but true, before there will be a price dump - er its happening

1314  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 15, 2020, 10:39:16 AM
Another honest thought...

As much as we all hate Tone Vays, I believe he was right about one thing.

Shitcoins.

They are a huge part of the problem and nobody can do nothing about it. (anybody can create a shitcoin and scam others before going to zero) Without all of them going to zero, I think bitcoin will have serious problems, price-wise against the USD.

Maybe they'll go away this time...

Take a look at CMC's homepage and tell me what you see. I only see shit. (other than #1) And people trade and hodl these shits with the hopes of them becoming the new bitcoin. And there are hundreds of thousands of them.

The shitcoin virus started with changing Bitcoin s DNA, copy, forking, whatever

Nothing really is of need, just to make some central forkers, devs, ICO foundations rich

@hv_. Is that the higher form of the bitcoin maximalist purity test hehehe? In any case, you are welcome to hold on to your coin religious beliefs while the rest of us will continue supporting development and progress on the cryptospace.

If you mean the 'religion' of honest money and stable financial protocol- you are welcome.

I wish just more had the real hands on experience on coding against (financial) global protocols.

Not really a religion

You tell everyone that it is not a religion, however, you subject all people under a purity test. Also, none of what you have told us answered the argument.

If I only could tell you start own critical thinking and research- all fine .

Finding out what Bitcoin really is, recommends lot of own PoW, time to be spend, maybe things to build hands on, ...

Keep on doing and building, but stay healthy and compliant

bitcoin - the DNA that did start everything

I don't want by any mean to minimize Bitcoin's place in all this phenomenon, but if you start talking about starting DNA I have to come in.
Bitcoin was not the start. Bitcoin inherited knowledge "and DNA" from its predecessors, like "b-money" and "bit gold".

Shure, but it fixed all the issues of trust into better money by having full traceability and by not working anonymously but peer to peer.

It changed all to declare money as a chain of SIGNATURES mined by honest miners following the rules set in stone ( as DNA is)

Good ya asked
