Centralised systems will always have whining, peer pressure and lawsuits to fall back on. That's why decentralisation for services is a lovely idea that most people will prefer to leave on the shelf. The only place it'll fly is in services that can't operate any other way. If there's a centralised service the average customer will gravitate towards that out of instinct. Ich hab da mal ne allgemeine Frage an die hodler, die ihre Bitcoin nicht gegen Fiat tauschen wollen: Spekuliert ihr darauf, dass man Bitcoin eines Tages als Zahlungsmittel verwenden kann und ihr Bitcoin dann benutzen könnt wie jetzt Fiatgeld?
trotz der starken kurschwankungen mit dem risiko innerhalb von wenigen tagen die hälfte des vermögens zu verlieren bleiben die HODLer in BTCitcoin investiert und das könnte folgende gründe haben: 1. Privatsphäre: es geht niemanden etwas an wie viel vermögen ich habe oder auch nicht habe ausser mir selber und manche teilen dieses wissen noch nicht einmal mit der ehefrau. 2. Absicherung gegen einen Crash der jeweiligen im wohnland gültigen FIAT währung: sollte z. Bsp. der EURO scheitern werden die länder zu einer eigenen FIAT währung zurückkehren. die vorbereitung dafür erfolgt im geheimen und die währungsumstellung erfolgt ohne vorankündigung an einem wochenende. in allen vorhergehenden währungsumstellungen enstanden daraus den bürgern immer nationale nachteile welche manchmal mit marginalen vorteilen entkräftet werden sollte (z. Bsp. man muss kein geld mehr umtauschen bei einem urlaub usw.) 3. Die schleichende entwertung von FIAT geld ist real: man muss sich nur die veranschaulichung mit den einkaufskörben über die jahre ansehen und sieht sehr deutlich, dass in einem einkaufswagen vor 30 jahren mehr enthalten war als in einem einkaufswagen von heute wenn mit dem gleichen budget eingekauft wurde. das ist IMO das stärkste argument für den glauben an den erfolg einer deflationären währung wie BTCitcoin. 4. HODLn ist im allgemeinen sicherer als Spekulieren: die erfahrung zeigt, dass wenn man bitcoins kauft und die ein paar jahre liegen lässt man mehr an rendite erhält als wenn man versucht aktiv die downphasen auszunutzen indem man seine bitcoins bei fallenden kursen verkauft und sie dann am boden wieder versucht zurückzukaufen. mag sein, dass einige wenige so ihre bitcoins vermehren können, die mehrheit dürfte den anforderungen für so ein vorgehen nicht gewachsen sein und am ende mit weniger bitcoins dastehen als wenn sie "nur" gehodlet hätten. Dass es Gründe für buy&hold als Anlagestrategie gibt ist jetzt nichts Neues. Die Frage war aber inwiefern das Sinn macht, wenn man nie verkaufen will. 1.Was bringt mir 1. Anonymität für mein Vermögen, 2. Absicherung gegen einen Crash, 3. Deflation und 4. Besser zu performen als ein Trader (Hodln ist spekulieren btw.) wenn ich mit diesem Vermögen dann ohnehin nichts mache? Wenn man nicht mal vor hat seine BTC irgendwann gegen Waren oder Dienstleistungen geschweige denn Fiatgeld zu tauschen? Darum gibts ja den neuen Hype-Begriff: Store of Value Was ich schade finde. Die Initial-Idee BTC als Zahlungsmittel zu verwenden, faszinierte mich sehr*. Jetzt heissts nur: hodlen, weil man wird eh reicher. Aber damit hab ich mich abgefunden. Womit ich mich aber nicht so ganz abfinden kann, ist die aufkommende Idee eines Bitcoin-Standards (ähnlich den Goldstandard-Zeiten). Ich denke das kommt gerade so sehr in Mode, weil soviel Geld gedruckt wird. Aber mir stellen sich bei dem Begriff Goldstandard immer die Haare auf (Danke Kostolany) *Die Faszination diesbezüglich gilt jetzt Ethereum und dem Defi-System drumherumIch verstehe das, ja und nein, Bitcoin kann das alles auch, man muss es nur machen lassen. Ich denke nicht, dass wir irgendeinen anderen scam-coin (ICO, .. zentral emittiert, verändert, vermarktet,...) braucht, Bitcoin Script ist mächtig genug, um mit genügend Hirn (PoW) alles compliant zu supporten, was man mit Smart Contracts , Defi-wattauchimmer, erreichen muss, nämlich Effizienz im Waren-Werte Bezahlen Austausch via sicherem Internet P2P, usw. Eth scaliert übrigens nicht, das war von Anfang schon klar, Bitcoin schon. Aber wie gesagt, PoW machen nicht nur Miner oder Satoshi.... |

They want to have all this power only for themselves under the present system.  In most cases of an exchange hack, the attacker can be booted off the trading platform for good. Not so with Bisq. One of the DEX's associated developers told CoinDesk that although the flaw was fixed, there was nothing to prevent the attacker – whose identity cannot be known – from accessing and trading on the platform again.

hmm, so you say because there is this halfening big blocks are good ?  Uh, no. I was saying bcashers who had been waiting up to 5 hours for their transaction to process woulda been pretty pissed if they had to wait for yet another block. Of course, the whole point of having bigger blocks isn't so you can cram transactions built up over the span of 5.5 hours into a single block, but it is a benefit in the face of bcash's wonky block times. Lol - define SPAM they even pay little fees -> no spam at all |

BCH actually went 5.5 hours without mining a block back in January. The next block was 2.3 MB. Good thing it has such a huge block size limit!  Here was the explanation from the reddit thread linked above: Can someone explain how there could be such a long time between blocks? Only thing I can think of is if a bunch of miners join, which raises the difficulty, then those miners drop off, leaving the diff way too high for the other miners to solve a block within 10mins. Is this what's happening? Precisely. BCH actually changed their difficulty adjustment awhile back to "improve" it but ended up introducing one that was much easier to game. Larger miners will drop off the network and then come back online once the adjustment has made the difficulty much lower so that it's quicker for them to mine blocks. "Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash" indeed. Just as Satoshi intended. Edit: aw, new block found. Fun's over.  It had a whopping 1094 transactions and was 612 kb. That's 10 transactions a minute! hmm, so you say because there is this halfening big blocks are good ? |

@hv_. Agreed, the American government can do a lot, however, why have they not done anything to the more than 1000 cryptocoins, altcoins, scamcoins, ICO tokens and more?
I reckon a lot might only be few.
Ramping up - get them educated,... they do a lot, but they are split quite a lot SEC, CFTC, NY BitLicence, .... And sure, they need to adjust / collude a bit with EU / ... to make things happen global. That all takes time and is coming next 1-2 y |
