1241  Economy / Economics / Re: Taking loan during high inflation? on: May 18, 2022, 10:57:06 PM
I also don't suggest to do it and that's the actual risk if that's the strategy of other people. I knew wealthy people that have been borrowing money to buy another assets and this is a common style to them and that's making them more wealthy.
But in able for you to do it, you have to make sure that you'll be able to pay the loan + the interest of it and most wealthy people have a lot of sources of income and that's why they're free in doing it. And if you're just an average and minimum wager man, you'll hardly do it.
Borrowing money is only good if you don't rely on a single investment, and that you have lot of sources that generate an income other than crypto. That is why most wealthy investors are capable of this, to expand their investment because they have been doing profits already in their previous investments. Since the more an investor own a lot of investments, the quicker he will become financially stable and secured.
1242  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is everyone that got in late last year in the red now ? How bad is it ? on: May 18, 2022, 10:31:55 PM
Those who made the purchase late last year are at a loss of course. They must be around 50% below their entry price. But this should not be registered as a loss because this is only paper loss. And the decision will be theirs. If they think this is now the time to let go of their Bitcoin then they are deciding to take the loss permanently. But if they are deciding to hodl and keep their Bitcoin despite the bear market, not only will they not incur permanent loss they will also make some gain later on. Needless to say, the latter is the better choice.
Losing is part of investing, but if we can learn to avoid and incur losses, that will be much safer. I can sense that those who bought coins at their peak price are surely in loss right now, but if they did not end up panic selling and chose to hold, then there's no losses anyway. So not everyone are at loss right now, some have learned to get along with the market, and some may developed fear and end up panic selling before all their coins ran out of value.
1243  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What are some expectations for a newbie aspiring to learn, earn and impact? on: May 18, 2022, 09:55:07 PM
<snip>
If you aspire to impact the forum positively and understand that this is a community of members, then you should know that your actions are personally motivated and the only guaranteed reward is impacting other members positively; ranking up and building meaningful connections come in secondary.

You do not have to pressure yourself to accomplish an idea or devote more time than you can, or cash. Just enjoy the discussions.
Everything can be learn in the forum, in the crypto market. It just takes time. Especially for a newbie who lacks knowledge and experience. So my advice is, never expect much, just enjoy the forum alone and learn from all the discussions. You will eventually start learning in the long process, start to participate good discussions in the forum, and earn a decent income in the long run. So just take your time, no need to rush.
1244  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How low can BTC go this time around on: May 18, 2022, 09:23:03 PM
I think now Bitcoin will break through the support at $30,000 and it's not impossible that it will continue to decline but that doesn't mean Bitcoin won't be able to recover. What is happening to the crypto market at the moment can be said that the market is currently entering winter and my advice is to hold it for a long time until the market returns to spring.
As of this writing, bitcoin is already $29,220 and i think there's more possibilities that it will go lower in the next days. The cheaper the price, the most likely we have to buy more bitcoin because no matter how low it dips, it will always recover again. And when it recovers, the whole crypto market will start to stabilize again. If we can hold bitcoin for a longer time, the higher the value it will reach, the bigger the profits we will achieve.
1245  Economy / Economics / Re: A decision to make on: May 17, 2022, 11:41:14 PM
Would you rather buy a house to live in or rent an apartment to invest in bitcoin  Since bitcoin is experiencing bear what decision will you take make use of the season or let it pass.
Bitcoin may be the best asset nowadays but the fact that losing is still inevitable, then that won't secure your future either. So i'd rather buy a house first because that decision alone comes with future security, and that you will not lose anything from buying a house, instead you can also make it as an investment if you plan to sell it in the future or convert it into a rented apartment. Bitcoin investment can wait, and its surely my second priority.
1246  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Did you live through the last bear market ? If so, what did you learn ? on: May 17, 2022, 10:38:48 PM
So lets go back to 2018 - 2019

Market cycles are full of patterns so I think it's time to sit back, compare and try to come up with a good strategy for the next 2 years.

Assuming we are in a bear market, what can we expect ? Let me first just say that this is my first bear market, so I feel a little unprepared as I lost a huge amount of money ( I'm still in the green fortunately )
It's tempting to start "accumulating", however, Bitcoin is expected to hit a bottom of 11K by some credible experts, so buy now and cry later kind of thing.
I see some Alt coins going past the negative 90 % mark, with some like Star Atlas ( one of the biggest play to earn games in crypto ) approaching the negative 99 % mark. Many other projects find themselves in a similar predicament, but I just noticed UMA, Injective Protocol and Super Rare pumping hard today and yesterday so not everything is in the red. Can we expect some sort of a trend here ? Are some coins bound to do well even during a bear market ? From what I've heard, early ( 2018 - 2019 ) investors in Theta, Chainlink and Ethereum made huge gains even before the bull run started late 2020. Chainlink especially went parabolic, but then crashed mid year. Early 2019 AAVE investors also did extremely well, 5000 % gains from what I hear. All this during the bear market. Gains that were comparable or even better to the bull run. So am I reading it wrong ? Let me know.
The last bear market was hard actually, that you are not profiting and just sitting back while waiting for the market to recover. This made me realized that the market will always go through its own cycles no matter what so we better lived for it. And keep the patience during bear days because its the only way you will never come into losses. And as much as possible, take time to sell your coins while their prices are at peaks, becaus when the bear season comes, you will only be buying and hodling all the time, and there are no profits coming in.
1247  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto trading has caused more depression in 2021/2022 on: May 17, 2022, 09:49:57 PM
In the past few days, the crypto market has taken a diped turn.
People have committed suicides.
What more should we expect
Its quite unfortunate actually. The recent incident on luna dumped is really shocking and I am not gonna say no one would do such thing due heavy loss especially on those bet all im theit hard earned money. Its really depressing how this turns out plus the market sentiment. But of course they should be always ready and dont forget the golden rule that invest only you can afford to lose.
No one's expecting really about the sudden dump of Luna, and those who were not able to control theirselves anymore end up in depression and worst is some committed suicides. Though things like this is very inevitable, but if they did not put their eggs in a single basket, then they won't be feeling this frustration these days. And of course, they should never ignore the very first rule when it comes to investing, always invest what you can afford to lose.
1248  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you knew the founder of Bitcoin, would you still use it? on: May 17, 2022, 09:19:21 PM
Regardless of who founded BItcoin, although this might be a group I believe that is we would still use it, let take for instant, right now we are made to believe that the founder and originator of bitcoin is an unknown man names which are satoshi nakamoto, although many of us don’t even know who this satoshi nakamoto is we have already believed in what he has created and it has really proven to be more than amazing, I believe if this originator which we were meant to believe wasn’t true then we would still be using Bitcoin
I guess it does not matter of who founded bitcoin, what matters the most is the real use of bitcoin in our daily lives. It can be a great asset and a good currency in the future, so what more can i ask for? And besides, if Satoshi or let's say a group founded bitcoin, if they really want to sell their bitcoins and causes financial catastrophe, then they had made it already when bitcoin was still at its very high peak.
1249  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Luna just became the new Shiba Inu on: May 16, 2022, 11:16:20 PM
I know it sounds crazy but hear me out. Crypto is mostly about speculation, lets be honest.'
(...)
Exactly and people should not only focus on terms of the prices of cryptocurrency or they are just here because of money like an investment. They must first appreciate the real use of cryptocurrency, like how it works or the real use of it in our daily lives.

Speaking of Luna and UST, I was really surprised about it, I didn't expect it will go that low, -100%, gross. It seems it is impossible for Luna to reach it even $1, the supply is extremely high, as time goes by it will be abandoned or forked, depending on the decision of the team.
Even myself i was totally shocked seeing its current value in the market, because everyone thought that Luna will still be more valuable in the long run. But let's say Luna is an exception, and majority of the coins in the crypto market are only for temporary gains, and they will be left undervalued the rest of the days. Sad to say, but Luna end up just like Shiba Inu, and until now its still uncertain about its future value. Well, its really good to invest in coins with high utility case, but the problem with majority of the investors, they don't even know what coins are those, so they end up investing in shitcoins or meme coins.
1250  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to avoid huge cryptocurrency disappointment on: May 16, 2022, 10:37:00 PM
The most important thing for your journey in cryptocurrency market is

  • Never spend more money than what you can't afford to lose.

Prepare for bad and worst things because your journey in cryptocurrency might not be smoothly and rosy. Lots of ups and downs, challenges, success and failure.
That's the most basic thing that an investor should always put in mind. If he can only invest on his extra money, then its less likely that he will get dommed in crypto or in any types of investments. And of course, if he starts to invest, make sure that you are not putting your money in the wrong coins, or the shitcoins. Invest in bitcoin first. That's more safer that any other coins to invest.
1251  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk won't save Doge or Bitcoin this time on: May 16, 2022, 09:42:47 PM
We are back to the 90s, the Fed raised the rates by 0.50% - nothing is going to stop the trend of further rate hikes - which in turn will keep on taking the air out of the balloon so called Crypto.

Whatever the trend of the market right now, Elon Musk may be a great influencer but could do nothing about this. He's only good for hypes but still leave the market inevitably down after that. And with the market's condition right now, i don't think Elon can still save his dogecoin from dropping its own value. Except for bitcoin, because no matter how it drops its price, its still going to recover on their own.
1252  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Inoue vs Donaire II discussion on: May 13, 2022, 08:58:46 PM

Boxing nowadays is just for money. They are now allowing exhibition match fight with pro boxer and non boxer inside the ring with officials and televise. Boxing nowadays is not the same glory compared when Pacquiao prime era below. New boxing champs are dodging each other just to maintain perfect record and also more good fighter is now entering MMA rather than boxing.

That's the sad reality, even exhibition fights can generate a lot of money, so some boxers would just choose a scripted fight as it's not too dangerous compared to the real fight. But these two, they will have a real fight and Donaire as we all know will never back down, he is always up for a challenge and will try to avenge his loss.

Yup, some people can't really deny that huge amount of money offered if they decided to partake on such exhibition fights and aside from that, they can also gain more from the revenues afterwards so it's really tempting for them. But anyways, I believe Donaire is still part of those few boxers who chooses pride over money and this time if he will win, a trilogy is needed to materialize fast before he decides to retire.
For boxers who do really make out some exhibition matches then these are the ones who are already that famous or part of hall of famer considering that they could generate out lots or high interest
in terms of people or its fans which could really generate high revenue or profits for both boxers and its promoter. For Donaire then if he would able to beat up Inoue on this rematch
then it would really be likely to have a Trilogy and this is something thats more exciting rather than on seeing any exhibition joke matches.
For sure, nobody would indeed want to watch the said exhibition fights if the fighters aren't that known or famous in the industry. In the past, only those retired boxers who are also famous are making these fights but now, we can see a mix of boxing and MMA wether they want to fight in the ring or octagon (not yet happened) but it is quite clear that they only wanted to make some money instead of entertaining the people and fans.
That's why we should support a real fight. Fans are the ones who would dictate if the fight is going to be profitable or not, and exhibition fights are profitable because people are supporting it, without our support exhibition fights will be gone.

Anyway back to the topic, we will see this coming June 5 if how would Donaire and Inoue adjust for the 2nd time.
Just less than a month and we will see this anticipated fight, hopefully Donaire is 100% fit and he can surprise the world of boxing again.
No doubt Inoue is very powerful, but experience and a big Heart, Donaire has that.
1253  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your NBA Champion this season? on: May 13, 2022, 08:36:34 PM

Maybe, we can see a repeat this time as we don't know for sure who will move to the next round, will it be the Suns or Mavericks? We'll see if the Mavericks can force a game 7.

I clearly see the patch is easy for the Mavericks, they have their play clicking on their home court, so I'm expecting they'll shoot better compared to the Suns. While game 5 is a clear dominant win by the Suns but Dallas will take their revenge and take the series to the last game on the road.
The series is now tied as the Mavericks have won on the Game 6 (113-86), they limited the gameplay of the Suns and dominated them each quarter so that they can't get a good rally and chase the lead. Luka as always makes the lead contributing 33 points while also grabbing 11 rebounds, they buried the Suns with almost 30 points. Now that they have forced their way on Game 7, this makes things more interesting to see if they can still end the series in their possession while playing on Phoenix.

They are in a tough situation once they are on the road, but game 7 is game 7, they need to play harder to achieve a better result, and that is the W. Luka would make a headline if they upset the number 1 team this season, and we all know they are capable, so trusting them to beat the Suns is surely not a problem. What I like about the Mavericks is that they are a healthy team now, Luka is killing the Suns, some players from Mavericks just need to stepped up because this is the last game.

It's hard to imagine Dallas will be in the NBA Finals. Not saying it's not gonna happen, but people does not expect that.
1254  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Davis vs Romero: May 28 on: May 13, 2022, 08:14:07 PM
^^ ML for Davis might not be a good idea to bet to. Maybe the range or if Davis will score a KO is a higher odds.

Romero is good, but maybe he bite more than he could chew in this fight. Davis has been knocking out/down his opponents recently and he has been in the 135-140 capturing belts. So it will take a lot from Romero to score a upset win, but who knows, this kid is really good that's why Floyd wanted to test him out against Tank.

Still waiting for other betting options Grin What I'm seeing now is not tempting me.

Both boxers are good and maybe Romero can show off some skills to make Davis struggle or push him into his limits. This kid (Romero) won't be in this kind of position against the Tank Davis if he were not this good or even a close par with the latter. Anyways, we already saw some upset this year, I don't know but I also have a bad feeling on this one.

You won't see the entire market until the last day before the fight, bookies normally give the full odds that time. Well, with a huge market, you can choose and experiment with what you like, besides, upset is possible just like the Canelo vs Bivol fight, it was an upset because Canelo was the public favorite, hence bets are on his side to win.
1255  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Warriors vs Grizzlies 2nd round discussion on: May 13, 2022, 02:51:51 PM
No are you crazy.  This is the playoffs.  One slip up at home and it's tied 3-3 and last game at Memphis.  You don't "intentionally lose" games in the playoffs trying to set up a home game series clincher lol.  Especially as the road team (meaning game 7 you'd have to win on the road".

What don't you guys get lol.  Memphis is the overall 2 seed.  They are a REAL GOOD team.  This isn't golden state playing the Orlando magic or something lol.
Warriors are next to Memphis and if you are going to compare their experiences, Warriors have the advantage but this is already playoff and yes, anything can happen. There’s no such fixed game here because all teams wants to earn the spot in the finals, if there’s Game 7, it will be the home court for Memphis and that could be a crucial game for Warriors. Too risky if Warriors will let the game 7 to happen, they should play their best.

They cannot afford to bring this series to Memphis, their best chance to win is on their home court, and I trust that they'll be able to do that since they are still perfect on their home court.

Las game, Curry was only 14 points, and Poole just made 3 points, it should not happen again. Curry has to score over 30+ and Poole should score 20+ points. Everyone on the Warriors has to play well, follow the game plan and take care of the ball to limit turnovers.

Golden state warrions always manage to have a strong come back win after there huge deficit lose. There home court advantage is really there strong weapon. I’m just concerned if they manage to go on the next round and still have this kind of inconsistency on there game plan. Mavericks/Suns are both good team and hungry to win. GSW might be in the tight spot in case they will carry over this bad habit of them to the next round although Grizzlies still has a chance to tie the series but without Ja Morant, I really prefer GSW to win on this match.
Let us not talk about the next round yet, Warriors still has a job to do, and that is to finish the Memphis tomorrow, if they can't then they don't deserve to be in the WCF. Suns vs Mavericks is having a great series thus far, but they are already in the last game of the series, so may the best team wins.

Curry has to be an MVP tomorrow, don't give Memphis another chance.
1256  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambler turns 60 pence bet into £157,865.59 on: May 13, 2022, 02:24:00 PM

Only a small number of people can get such a big win while others suffer losses. Even if he is very familiar with certain sports or he is familiar with many sports, it is not necessarily that he can win all of them because it also requires luck that will not come together. However, the win definitely changed his life into someone who has a lot of money and hopefully he can put his winnings to good use.
Luck is major factor that plays a vital role in deciding how much you win or even don't win anything at all so for sure there are some cases where players are having that luck charm which made these big wins possible with such small amounts. How he use depends on him and we can only hope for our luck to shine also but play in limits.
I think luck is the only factor which makes a person rich in gambling. Otherwise some unlucky person like me when tries to gamble would get a hard slap on the face and will come out from casino crying and losing.
Now after a lots of attempt - I would not dare to gamble. Because in the end I know I will lose. My luck is so hard on me.

Luck might be the reason why this player has won such an amount. I hope everyone could be that lucky but there are times that we're unlucky and destined to lose. If gambling luck would be for everyone then the powerhouse will lose everything. I guess it would be better if lucky gamblers would share their strategy.

This kind of odds is just like betting on a lottery, you'll experience a lot of losses in this kind of game, so if you are not willing to take that loses, then you cannot expect that you will be lucky right away. Though this is sports betting, it still look like a lottery (at least for me) due to the odds combined or we call it parlay, and you need extreme luck to win.
1257  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: May 13, 2022, 01:13:29 PM

Mavs and Suns are going to game 7, I am also expecting Bucks and Celtics will have a game 7, otherwise it'll end on game 6 If the Celtics repeats the same mistake. They could've the lead by now If they didn't become comfortable with their lead in game 5.
Girzz and GSW might have a game 7 as well since the Grizz has been performing their best even without Ja.
The 2nd round is really interesting for most of the series.

In my own opinion, the suns will lose game 7 to the Mavericks this Sunday  because there is no way a team can win a game in Dallas because its tough to play there and the mavericks are a good 3 point shooting team and the suns are really in trouble because if they lose game 7 Chris Paul will never hear the end of this. Suns had their chance last year and have had an air of entitlement, arrogance and overconfidence this year.

Dallas will be playing at the home court of the Suns, they have not won a single game in this series on the road as well, so the advantage is on the Suns. What I like about Dallas is they have the momentum in game 7, so expect a great game, for sure it's an intense game and a very physical game.
1258  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Coping Strategy for Bitcoin Price Crash on: May 12, 2022, 11:42:21 PM
When things like this happen it's easy to spot those that got into BTC / crypto as a way of commerce vs those who got into BTC / crypto  for a way to invest for their future vs those who saw it as magical internet money and a way to get rich.

As of now we are not even CLOSE to the largest % price drops.
We may or may not get to them
I'll keep buying.

-Dave
I believe only the strong hands will be able to survive this time and those who keep taking the advantage will always make profits in the end. The market crash may stay for long, and for some of us, its a great start to buy bitcoin and all those coins with high potentials, but for others this may mean the end of their crypto career. But always know that we will not lose if we won't sell this time, so just keep the patience and stay strong.  Crypto is something you can't expect to always on the rise, its has its own high and lows like any other real life life investments.
1259  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to grow my wallet? on: May 12, 2022, 11:19:46 PM
Assuming I've made up my mind to hold on to a token for many years but after a year this token hit a new ATH what should I do as a newbie? Sell or not sell?
If you think that coin will no longer increase its price anymore, then take time to sell. And buy bitcoin. That way, you will never regret selling it as you now have bitcoin that will definitely bring good profits if you can hold it for long term. If growing your portfolio is what you mean, then start to buy another potential coins to fill in your portfolio once you have made significant profits from investing in bitcoin. Or once you have extra funds, invest in established altcoins.
1260  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: An advice for newbies and plebs on: May 12, 2022, 10:06:45 PM
Simply stop day-trading, or any more active form of trading. Preserve your capital and wait for the market to be in the same situation like 2020 again, when investors were excited to throw their money in crypto. The market narrative has changed, people are not as excited. The market has always followed a bull - bear cycle. Save your money, and wait for the next opportunity.

2022 - It might be a bear market.
2023 - It might be the next opportunity to buy the Bitcoin DIP.
2024 - It might be the new BULL MARKET.
Day trading is not that profitable anymore, the reason why many of us here preferred long term trading instead. Though we are expecting the market to follow bullish and market cycle, but it seems that the market will always have a long term duration of bear market these days, this is why long term hodling is encouraged. However, knowing the market is very unpredictable, so let's grab every opportunity that comes and make profit when the timing is right.
