I still don't understand how to mine this coin. Got absolutely nothing. Any help anywhere in these 600 pages?
Forging is basically not something that is really important in NXT as a way to think about the coin. It's more in the nature of a "perk" when the transactions are going well and you have a significant amount of NXT in your active account. You basically get a chance to "forge" a block in the chain and get all transactionfees associated with that block. However, the chances of forging (when the coin has decentralised a lot) will be very low for most people. I think of it as a nice extra, nót as a way to earn easy money by just having it rest. Hope that clears it up a bit. But why not? I read that top accounts with 50M coins forge appx 35 000 coins a day which means you need 4 years to make another 50M. So even if the price stays the same and number of transactions won't increase you're fine. Four years is a good timing. Open and operate a restaurant for example is much harder and risky. No way you can mine 35k NxT with 50M. It's a lot of less than that. Less than 1k for sure.

OK, I think I figured out why Tor didn't work for me. It just didn't accept "localhost".
Can someone in the know confirm to me that if I go to 127.0.0.1/7874 in Tor, that basically this is what is needed to avoid the earlier mentioned DDos after TF has been implemented? If so, I can put it separately in the wiki.
Thanks in advance.
U can just connect to a few nodes. Later peers won't share ur address if u set "shareMyAddress" to "false". Also u'll be able to use HTTPS. It would also work directly with strong VPN and no TOR?

If someone creates a forum poll on nextcoin.org and majority votes for this min fee setting ratio (always keep min fee ~$0.10), would the devs implement it or would we still need to wait for the VS to be in place?
Jean-Luc, this is addressed to u. IMO $0.1 is way too much, it should be no more than $0.01 I think it'd be dangerous for the network then, no incentive to forge. Yes you have, keeping the network alive is enough incentive to forge. Otherwise your NxT holdings will become worthless. Charging $0.1 fee for every transaction makes NxT useless for micropayments. Now fees can be higher to avoid attacks, but it should be smaller in the future (nearly 0).

Además de "Proof of Work" y "Proof of Stake" tenemos "Proof of Nodes"

I think for the whole system to work, there has to be a tax against money not put into circulation. Cfb , is it possible to design such a scheme?
Not after Mixing is implemented. You won't get any results with this. You can just move your funds to another account you own. I think the right direction is lowering fees nearly 0, so if someone wants to hoard is ok, but he won't see his stack grow significally. In my opinion protecting the network is enough reward for all of us holding NxT, no need of extra fees.

Is anybody familiar with the marketing concept of positioning? It is what big companies spend millions of dollars to achieve the top spot in a ladder of products. I say cola, you say either Coke or Pepsi. There are probably dozens of other colas, but those are the two that people automatically respond with.
This is no accident. Hundreds of millions of dollars have been spent and sometimes misspent, remember New Coke, just to get people to remember their product.
NXT needs to establish the top position in a strong positive category. I have a plan on how to achieve a very powerful position for NXT that will allow it to eventually exceed bitcoin's market cap. I would think that most people reading this forum would kind of like that. However, I get the sense that maybe the community wants to just focus on the tech and not bother with messy marketing stuff.
I would love to be able to work 100% on NXT, but it seems that the community doesn't feel like it is important or maybe I am not the right person, then somebody else do this. NXT needs marketing focus or it will be the best crypto that the public doesn't want.
James
P.S. utopianfuture, following this thread is taking up all my available time. Unless I am able to spend fulltime on NXT, I doubt I can expand my scope.
+1 Marketing is also important, you miss a lot of potential customers if you don't have a good plan.
