1161  Local / Italiano (Italian) / Re: BITCOIN PUMP! on: September 17, 2023, 03:54:14 PM
1162  Local / Italiano (Italian) / Re: Fisco / Tasse / Legge sul Bitcoin on: September 17, 2023, 03:28:23 PM

1163  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People Are Not Nerdy Enough on: September 17, 2023, 01:43:34 AM
Yes, I am complaining that people are not nerdy enough. It's been 14 years since Satoshi published his white paper and the vast majority of people still don't understand what Bitcoin is and how to use it. Sure there are many people buying Bitcoin on crypto exchanges and speculating on it.

However, the average guy on the street that I speak to, and even many people on crypto forums still don't understand Bitcoin's potential as a virtual commodity, or it's potential to create an alternative to Fiat economies. Maybe the problem is deeper than just a lack of understanding about the technology? Maybe it's a lack of understanding about economics as a whole? How many people are economists?

I understand that my frustration might be due to the fact that I am coming from a very privileged position. What are your thoughts on this?
The problem is not about people not being nerdy enough, the problem is that people are simply lazy, that's it. From time to time I try to talk about finance, investments, and also cryptos with my friends but I can see how they're not actually interested even thought there is someone pretty much explaining them how to (hopefully) make money. People always complain about not making enough money, working too much, having debts, etc etc, then you actually have the opportunity to do things in a different way and... you're not interested. I just don't get. My only regret is discovering the whole finance/crypto world too late, I wish I had someone 10-12 years ago telling me just a few things about finance and how to invest for the long run.

Ah, curiosity, that's another thing that you necessarily need to have, the more curious you are the more you'll improve your life thanks to the knowledge that comes from that curiosity.
1164  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Preparations for BTC Halving and bull market on: September 16, 2023, 08:20:28 PM
My targets are clear and will sell in parts after bitcoin reaches new highs.
At this point it would interesting if you could share your targets: you mentioned selling only after we reach a new ATH, but does that mean that $80k for you would be acceptable since the previous ATH was $69k? Personally I wouldn't sell before reaching at least $110-120k, and that would mean selling at a price which is not even double the previous ATH, and to be honest if we don't reach at least those numbers for me it would be a big deception.
1165  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will be the biggest means of fulfilling dreams in the future. on: September 16, 2023, 08:00:19 PM
So if you want to fulfill your dreams in life then invest in Bitcoin then you will be able to fulfill your dreams very soon.
Bitcoin for sure can help a lot fulfilling your dreams but it's not an easy path because it means that you need to take a big risk, wait for several years, maybe even losing money compared to your initial investment, avoid the temptation so sell while losing money, and then, at the very end, hopefully the price will go up as usual. At the end unless you win the lottery (or you come from a wealthy family) there are no shortcuts in life.
1166  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't wait for the bottom without buying in the Dip. on: September 16, 2023, 04:18:01 PM
The market did not grow as we expected. We expected the Bitcoin market to be between $50K and $60K in mid 2023 to late 2023 but so far the market is under $30K. We have already crossed the middle period of 2023. Now we are at the end of 2023. The time left to the end of 2023 is that the market will grow a lot only then our expectations will be fulfilled. Looking at the market movement, it seems that the market may move to a good position very slowly. If the market slowly moves higher then we will have to wait some more time for the market to reach $40K to $50K. If we wait we will surely get something good.
September usually is never a good month for bitcoin, I don't really care about today's value, let's see how we end the year: if in the next months will reach $35-40k for me it would be a great result, and anyway let's not forget that the most interesting part will come in 2024 and 2025, this is just a transaction year.
1167  Economy / Speculation / Re: Key Accelerators to bitcoin bull market on: September 16, 2023, 04:05:29 PM
Bitcoin has grown massively since its existence and as cut across the bull markets as well which has made it a favourable economic conditions where  the market experience consistent growth by rising. And has resulted to the rise in prices in the bull market.

Key Accelerators that characterise the Bitcoin  bull markets are:

*Halving
*Education
*Devaluation/inflation of fiat money
*Spot ETF
*Regulations
*US presidential elections
*Institutional adoption
*Utility/Utilisation of Bitcoin
Right now, in my opinion, the accelerators have mainly been the halvings and the inflation of fiat money, especially the latter is the main reason many people buy bitcoin. Less important but still relevant I would say regulations, because if some important country decided to ban bitcoin that would have been a big problem (now we're past that). Now it's the moment of the spot ETFs and institutional adoption.
I don't consider the elections something very relevant. And, at the end, something that I hope one day will be at the top of the list, the actual utilization of bitcoin.
1168  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: DCA'ing isnt a bad strategy on: September 16, 2023, 03:52:12 PM
What is your opinion?
And and which method do you prefer to be used in this present market conditions?
For a normal investor, and by normal I refer to someone who doesn't have any particular financial skill (like myself Grin) I think the DCA strategy is one of the best things out there: you keep investing every month, you know you won't be wasting that money buying useless stuff, and if the market goes up you're happy, if it goes down you're happy anyway because you can buy more BTC investing the same amount of money. No stress, no margins, no need to check the price every 5 minutes, I like it.
1169  Local / Italiano (Italian) / Re: BITCOIN PUMP! on: September 16, 2023, 03:45:07 PM
Tongue
1170  Local / Italiano (Italian) / Re: BITCOIN PUMP! on: September 16, 2023, 05:37:38 AM

1171  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Keeping or recovering seed phrases during or after a natural disaster. on: September 16, 2023, 05:32:06 AM
The increase in the rate of natural disasters such as earthquakes, flooding, wildfires, etc. has got me thinking of how safe my seed phrase is when I store it physically. The recent wildfire in the US nearly destroyed the entire town of Lahaina, Hawaii. The recent earthquake in Morocco almost wiped out the entire region of Marrakesh. In Libya, the flooding devastated the entire city of Derna.

I have learned in this forum that it is not safe to keep or save your seed phrase online, on the phone, or on the computer. We are also advised not to keep them with third parties because they can be stolen or accessed by anybody. Rather it is better to write them down and keep them in different safe locations. Another option is to write it on fireproof and waterproof material like steel and keep it safe.

My problem is that these natural disasters happen without warning signs. Recently we just woke up to see that our entire neighborhood has been flooded because of the collapse of a dam in the neighboring country. The earthquake in Turkey, Syria, and Morocco,  and the flood in Libya were impromptu and everyone was only concerned about saving lives and nobody cared about personal belongings like seed phrases. The destruction caused by these disasters is so widespread that it could destroy all the safe places where you safely kept your seed phrase. Recovering these seed phrases saved on disaster-proof materials after a natural disaster is somehow difficult because recovering them with machines like escalators and other earth-moving machines will be close to impossible. In the case of flooding, these materials would have been washed away into rivers or sea.

I know that the security of our wallet is very important that is why it should be personal. I have heard of saving encrypted seed phrases in the cloud or online personal files. I know this is also risky but is there any means of saving my seed phrase safe from these natural disasters? That could atleast give a Bitcoiner access to a wallet after the loss of seed phrases during or after natural disasters.
I think that you mainly need to be prepared for the type of natural disaster you may expect and it also depends on your house, I try to explain myself better: if you live in Florida there is a way bigger probability of hurricanes rather than fire or earthquake but if you live in California is exactly the opposite so in one case you may place your seed into something that is almost impossible to move, on the other into something fireproof for example. Also if you have your own detached house, even if it gets burned to the ground or destroyed, probably it's easier to find your seed compared to the same scenario but while living in big apartment buildings.

I know there are several websites that sell stainless still plaques where you can write your seed on, those are also fireproof, that's a good solution in many cases.
1172  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How much Bitcoin is needed to buy iPhone 15? on: September 16, 2023, 04:03:50 AM
Just imagine after buying an iPhone with a large amount of BTC, then some months later, iPhone 16 was produced. Then you keep planning to buy that one with another BTC. That means you will use all your BTC to buy an iPhone.
That is a very unlikely situation for the majority of people: many bitcoiners are also hodlers, and that doesn't necessarily mean that your are going to spend 0 crypto, if you need a new smartphone there is nothing wrong with it; buying a new model every single year is a totally different thing. I don't know about you, but I know very few people who change their smartphone every year.
We have different lifestyles and some people are not interested in following the smartphone trend, many bitcoiners can afford an iphone 15 pro even though the price is 2 times higher but they don't use a cent of bitcoin to divert to non-investment except for investment needs in property, gold, shares and others for the purpose of profit opportunities. If someone uses bitcoin to buy other items such as an iPhone or other non-investment items, he or she has reduced the amount of investment assets for lifestyle needs but the price of the smartphone will fall every year.

Even though they have achieved financial freedom, they can realize their lifestyle needs of buying a new iPhone without using Bitcoin investment because the investment funds have been set for a profitability strategy, it is possible that in the future when the price of Bitcoin has increased, the accumulated price of the iPhone will be 0.002 BTC.
It's not about the smartphone trend, it's simply that there is a huge difference between buying a smartphone every 1-2 years and 4-5. At this point everybody in the world has a smartphone, is not something that we can renounce. Of course there are several brands, several prices, everyone can find what suits him the best. I like Apple products because they last a lot, I'm seriously considering buying the new iPhone because I'm still using a 2016 iPhone 7 (just to give an idea of ow long they last) and I can update it to the new iOS, also many apps run a little slow and sometimes also when watching a video there is some lag, but besides that it's impressive because it's 7 years old
1173  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What type of advice is worth giving such people? on: September 16, 2023, 03:43:57 AM
I have read some painful stories online about Bitcoin fans that lost their Bitcoin to hacks more than once and how they gave up because of the hacks, this made me curious about people on the forum, I will like to ask you guys how many times you have lost Bitcoin to hacks or your own mistakes, and why are you still not giving up.

Can you keep buying bitcoin if you have already get hacked like twice or more in the past?

Like a story about an American who lost his love for Bitcoin because of the hacks, I believe it's because of his own carelessness though, because you can't leave your wallet on a bench outside your home and not expect someone to steal it, and you come out and say your wallet was stolen by a thief, like what do expect?

What advice is worth passing out to people who have lost their Bitcoin more than once and are on the hedge of giving up?
You can lose your bitcoins because of some mistake, it happens, but if you lose them a second or even a third time than it means you are not willing to learn from your mistakes, and that is a very dangerous game to play when there is money involved. And usually these people don't blame themselves, they blame bitcoin...

1179  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN: Give people time! on: September 15, 2023, 04:00:01 PM
2. The amount of energy and time you expend preaching to someone about bitcoin is not a warranty that he will accept what you're offering. Maybe not immediately!
I tried to talk to my dad about bitcoin, but he didn't really listen. instead, he called me dumb for sending money online to someone. he thought i was telling him to invest because i saw it on youTube.
so, he didn't listen to me and didn't invested in Bitcoin.

from this, I have learned that do not try to tell people to invest in things because if they lose money, they might blame you. so, it's better not to give investment advice.
At that point, since it's your dad and (hopefully) you can talk with him without any problem, did you ask him why for him what you did was stupid? On what facts was his response based on? Did he actually do a research? Or was just saying things despite having 0 knowledge of the actual facts?

Non penso proprio sia donna.
No ragazzi non scherziamo.
