1581  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will World Economic Depression Affect Bitcoin? on: June 29, 2023, 08:19:41 PM
So if ECONOMIC DEPRESSION happened again in the world, will it affect bitcoin with it fellow digital currencies? Because economy is the back bone of everything in the world. What affect economy affect all other things. And bitcoin is the father of digital currency.
What is your say.
It all depends on what you mean by "affecting bitcoin": will it affect its value? Probably yes. Will it affect the way it works? Absolutely not. Bitcoin will keep going despite the value in dollars, euro, or whatever other fiat value. Many people make confusion and think that bitcoin's value somehow affects the way it works, but it doesn't. So if I were you I wouldn't worry about this possibility.
1582  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Being Knowledgeable before Bitcoin investment is very Good on: June 29, 2023, 07:35:07 PM
I came across a post made on this forum by someone that says he has $20k for investment as such he was looking for people to advice him on how to go about it, for me it was actually a bad idea consorting everyone for investment advice because you could be lured by scammers to invest on a shitcoin as such loosing all your money because of lack of knowledge about Bitcoin or any investment in general, as someone that has no idea on investment I think the first thing was research google to learn more and also the risk involves. so I was thrilled to create this topic, so everyone could help by sharing there own knowledge on what someone that has no knowledge about investment should no before venturing into.

I may not be the right person for investment advice that's why I'm asking everyone to share their advice, views and knowledge incase something like this should come up, so people could learn and no what must be done before going into investment.
I know what thread you are talking about and pretty much it's an example of what you shouldn't do before investing. On the other side, I don't think that investing in bitcoin requires too much study, I try to explain myself better: once you have a general idea of the economical system and the inflation, and then you read what bitcoin is about, I don't want to say it's a no brainer decision investing but almost. Then you can dedicate more time to understand every little detail, sure, but having a basic understanding is more than enough in my opinion.

1584  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How much do you think Bitcoin will rise to in the next round of bull market? on: June 29, 2023, 03:31:57 PM
How much do you think Bitcoin will rise to in the next round of bull market?
As usual it's impossible to predict something like this but, considering what happened in the past and the ongoing situation with the bitcoin spot ETFs, I would expect something between $130k and $160k. Why? Because I think that we can easily double the old ATH, which was $69k (approx) and usually after we make a new ATH there are a few more. And again, let's not forget about the ETF's money ready to flood the market.
1585  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My bitcoin journey mistakes and moral lesson on: June 29, 2023, 03:09:59 AM
In 2016, when I first heard about Bitcoin. I never had any knowledge of the existence of a bitcointalk forum or even a detailed idea of Bitcoin itself, the first mistake I made was to listen to people's advice in respect to investing in Bitcoin. When I started reading and researching about bitcoin and its technology, A time came when I made up my mind to invest my little savings in it, but I decided to involve my parents, siblings and friends so that we can invest concurrently. But They came to the conclusion that bitcoin and all online investments are scams and I should not make such a wrong step if not, that am going to lose my money, I was confuse at that point
I'm sorry but I am a little confused now: I guess back in 2016 you were pretty young, hence the decision to talk about this investment opportunity with your parents, etc, so probably at your age you already knew how to use internet and look for information. Now you're telling us that your parents and friends made you change your mind because, I quote, "They came to the conclusion that bitcoin and all online investments are scams"? How did they do this kind of research? Where did they find this info? Did you look as well? Or did you just trust their word? I mean, seriously, I would never ask my parents for an opinion about bitcoin, they have no idea what it is and they have no idea how to find info about it. Probably you didn't believe in bitcoin enough to take the risk and buy otherwise no way you would have just trusted them.
1586  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Newbie Crypto Advice on: June 29, 2023, 03:01:54 AM
Hello I am looking to invest my 20,000 dollars for retirement but I don't know the best crypto for me to put into to save myself from inflation. I'm 64 years old and don't have the time to learn the ins and outs of this crypto stuff so if anyone can give me advice I would appreciate it.
You can contact me through the forum or via email I appreciate the help
To be honest it's hard to take you seriously because all what you are saying doesn't make any sense:
- Why would you tell on a public forum you have $20k (theoretically) to invest?
- Why would you tell you know nothing and you don't care about learning?
- Why would you ask for help using emails when it's full of scammers?

I don't know what your final goal is but I see a lot of BS here.
1587  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you still do business with them? on: June 29, 2023, 02:58:37 AM
I know that many other centralized exchanges may declare bankruptcy - but let's ignore this for a moment and assume that these companies gets back in business would you patronize them? Would you still do business with them? I know the whole talk of move your bitcoin off centralized exchanges but we cannot denial the fact they that they still play an important role in the crypto community.
I would never trust again an exchange that went bankrupt. Who can assure me that it's not going to happen again? If you go bankrupt you had a really bad management, at that point just start a new clean exchange. I feel like it would be like fixing a totaled car instead of getting a new one, why would you do that? How could you trust it?
1588  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Relationship between social media and Bitcoin on: June 28, 2023, 10:48:58 PM
Basically, what I'm trying to say is that social media is powerful,and its high time we understand that no matter how good or bad a post is,it has the potential to affect the market. Possibly, I believe social Media will play a significant role in Bitcoin's promotion, indulgence, maturation and exposure because of it's educational power.
For sure social media have a lot of power and influence because there are a ton of people who just blindly follow their idols, so no matter the shit they suggest, they are going to do as they say. The problem, for this kind of people, is that they can't make money out of bitcoin so usually they prefer to "suggest" some shitcoin that is clearly a scam. Very few people actually do a good job promoting bitcoin, all the others have some kind of conflict of interest and they just want to make as much money as possible.

Pure io sto scrivendo meno.

1590  Local / Italiano (Italian) / Re: Nuovo Governatore Bankit e Cryptovalute - Non è un buon inizio... on: June 28, 2023, 10:07:24 PM

1591  Local / Italiano (Italian) / Re: Notizie spazzatura su bitcoin/blockchain on: June 28, 2023, 06:00:00 PM
* bitcoin cash
* bitcoin abc
* xrp
* ethereum
* solana

1592  Local / Italiano (Italian) / Re: BITCOIN PUMP! on: June 28, 2023, 05:56:56 PM

1593  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Small Birthday Gift - Bitcoin on: June 28, 2023, 03:06:05 PM
Already she had Binance, so requested her to send the bitcoin address and send a small amount of 0.0011BTC as birthday gift.

I know it is not good to send gifts to the centralized exchanges. During the conversation she said she is interested to learn about trading and for that purpose she had downloaded Binance. While meeting her in person I will brief her better about the security and need for non custodial wallet.
Of course it's good that you are going to explain her the problems related to keep funds on exchanges but what worries me the most is this part: "she is interested to learn about trading", I mean, for real? On average 85% of the traders lose their money, is she so confident she's going to to be in that 15%? I don't know, isn't it better to explain her how bitcoin works and just buy a little every month instead of trading?
1594  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A bitcoin retirement plan with a disturbing length of years. on: June 28, 2023, 01:44:29 AM
I have this colleague of mine at workplace who is a bitcoin enthusiast just like me. Often times at work when we're less occupied with our job we kind of spend such moment's  discussing about bitcoin generally. Two days ago he was telling me about his plans to start buying BTC with 20% of his salary every month for the rest of the years he has to retirement that's when he will then take it all. And based on the company total years of service he has 16 years left to his retirement.

With the way he was talking to me about it he appears to know exactly what he's about to do and how its going to end for him. But for me his idea has left some apprehension and questioning in my head due to the length of years (good 16 years) he is going to keep up with. From my angle the years are too much as no one can certainly say for sure about what the future of cryptocurrency and bitcoin holds despite how positive it could be looking today.

In my opinion I wanted to talk to him with a logical conclusion why he should reduce the length of years, not to do it at a stretch of straight 16years he has in mind without applying risk management technique, maybe by splitting those 16years into four interjecting years. As in he should in every 4 years be taking 50% of whatever total amount plus profit  till it gets to the 16years he planned. At least in worst case scenario this method could save him something reliable to fall back onto.

How do you guys think about this idea of mine for my colleague? Can it really be helpful to him in the long run or it may just obstruct his original plan killing the whole idea?  Please all opinions are entertained but whatever your opinion might be, also try to put the length of years involved into consideration.(16 years)
Reading your post it looks like your final goal is to change your colleague's mind and, for me, that is a very bad move because we are talking his money. It's totally fine for you telling him about your concerns and what you would/wouldn't do, but don't push it too much because if for any reason he decides to listen to you and at the end you were wrong, well, I wouldn't like to find myself in that situation.
1595  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who Buys Bitcoin When The Price is 100k$? on: June 28, 2023, 12:01:29 AM
When you buy Bitcoin hen the price is 100k$ then how much will you sell it back to make profit because at that time the price of Bitcoin might not exceed 100k$ and if the price didn't not exceed that amount you will become a loser in the business so how does the vendors do at that time?
Or you buy at that time and thinking that it will go up to 200k$ but ironically, the price come below 100k$. What will be you faith/fate.
I think that in a certain way we can compare the $100k to the $1k and $10k: they are all psychological numbers that could stop some people from buying, and many others would be willing to sell. But it's impossible to predict what will happen, back in 2017, when BTC reached $10k for the very first time, in a few weeks was almost at $20k so who knows how many people sold at approx $10k and then, because of the fomo, bought back at $13-15-18k? And then it dropped again to $3,500 so probably many lost money twice.
1596  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banks offering investing in Bitcoin on: June 27, 2023, 11:57:10 PM
Now I wonder, do they just want to enter the market and profit off of it or are there some other intentions? Since they offer an exchange for business users, could it be possible that the system could be used so the government could actually tax Bitcoin by taxing the company investing in it trough the bank account?
Banks are finally realizing that many people want to buy bitcoin and shutting down people's account won't benefit them at all. The banks with that way of doing business will end up like the dinosaurs did. The smart ones will just make some profit as usual. If the banks offers something is because they can make money out of it, as simple as that.
1597  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you dare to pawn your bitcoin? on: June 27, 2023, 10:34:44 PM
No different then taking a loan against your BTC from some of the larger places that do it online.
The biggest issue I see is regulation and price volatility and the rules that you are agreeing to when you do it.
I agree with you, I see this just as a way to overcomplicate something that already exists (borrowing online, or even on this very forum). What if the laws change and the other person, somehow, feels entitled to keep your BTC because they went up in price? Personally, I would never take such risk, too many grey areas.
1598  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Forever on: June 27, 2023, 03:19:45 PM
Guys, this is my first post here.
After noticing your nickname I would say "welcome back to the past"  Grin

Bitcoin is something so extraordinary and beautiful that it managed to break the entire traditional system without turning back, it managed to remodel and change the whole human perception about capital. Today, knowing both worlds, it is the only currency that I trust, it is the only system that I trust and I will dedicate my life to carry this forward. Bitcoin forever.
Maybe in your future is actually like that, over here, for the moment, we're still at the first steps. Anyway it's pretty crazy the amount of things that happened in the last years, I feel like the price right now is very underestimated, those who are still out have a huge opportunity to jump in. In 1-2 years probably many people will hate themselves for not buying...
1599  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin whale 'awakens' after 10 years. on: June 26, 2023, 08:39:58 PM
A Bitcoin whale account unexpectedly comes back to life after 10 years as it transfers an equivalent of $37.8 million to another wallet. Data on Lookonchain on June 8th reveals that a Bitcoin account that had been dormant for over 10 years has transferred a total of 1,432.93 BTC, equivalent to $37.8 million, to a new address named 'bc1psv'.

The last activity of this account was on April 9, 2013, during the period known as the 'Satoshi era,' when it received 1,432.92 BTC at a price of $195 per Bitcoin. This means the investor had invested $280,000 and could potentially make a profit of nearly $37 million if they decide to sell all the coins in the wallet at this time.

Currently, the intentions of the owner cannot be determined. Data from Cointelegraph shows that every previous awakening of a 'whale' has resulted in significant fluctuations in the Bitcoin market. The event has garnered attention from the cryptocurrency community due to the potential impact of the origin of these coins on early-stage participants.
The first thoughts after reading the thread: it's impressive to see someone who had the possibility to invest/risk almost $300k in bitcoin back in 2013, this person is either super rich, so can lose $300k without any problem, or a huge gambler and believer at the same time. For sure his bet paid out very well!

Second thing, I saw people worried about this guy selling, I don't see the problem, the market won't change because someone is selling 1-2k BTC...
1600  Local / Italiano (Italian) / Re: L'halving è alle porte on: June 26, 2023, 02:48:20 AM
