Is anyone of you have an idea on how the new team from Japan, Reject May plays? I have seen them in some posts and I have no idea about this team for Dota 2 that is based in Japan.

It is the first time hearing this team name from the Japan. And the players that they have, the roster itself are unknown names and never heard of them.

Anyone who is familiar with them?

I also heard about this team a few days ago. They're all new to me as well. But Japan is pretty sure a country with a lot of gamers including DOTA 2. In the past, I remember some Japanese teams participated in lesser events. Maybe their teams are not just good enough to make it into Division 1. I heard Sony is one of its main sponsors so it should be good financially. But they have to prove it and make it into the bigger competitions otherwise Reject will just withdraw from the DOTA 2 scene just like the other big e-sports teams in the past who failed to win significant matches.
I just hope that many Japanese will also get into Dota 2. I've got a friend that's base there but just a casual dota 2 player and in no way gonna reach the pro scene. But what I am saying that there are players there but not that much wide of range.

And for this team, if Sony is one of their sponsors. I guess that many pro players would like to even touch Japan team or any mena team. These regions seems to be financially well if it's about salaries and stuff.

But of course, the competition for now is in WEU, EEU and CN.

Japan is rich itself and is the 3rd biggest economy in the world so a Japanese team participating in big DOTA 2 events can somehow promote the game. I'm curious about which region are they participating in. Maybe in the SEA? Cheesy I find it awkward if they belong in the Chinese region since both are not on good terms.

Meanwhile, there are rumors circulating online that Riyadh Masters next season could be worth $45 million. That would make it the biggest prize pool not just in DOTA 2 but in the whole e-sport history. Next year is also the targeted Esports World Cup by Saudi Arabia as part of its plan to become the world's esports hub.
542  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Ryan Garcia vs Oscar Duarte (December 2) on: November 29, 2023, 08:33:04 AM

Boxing is not a beauty pageant your skill and power and your behavior are what will get you more support and fans boxing is mainly a man's sport so looks don't matter, Garcia gained a lot of fans because of his speed and skill that he showed off in his social media account and the way he fights but if he keeps losing like the way he loses against Gervonta I don't think he can maintain his followers and supporters, you will only retain your supporters if you keep on winning but once you take a lot of losses your reputation and popularity will slide.

That's right and the pressure is on this guy because he was all hyped and it was proved by Davis in their last fight now that he already got his first loss, he should strive to improve himself by not exaggerating in his videos rather he needs to show the world how skillful he is in this upcoming fight. Honestly, he cannot afford to lose this one and expect to have a blockbuster fight once again, he needs to keep winning in order to convince the fans that he deserves to be watched and supported in all of his fights.

I do think that Ryan Garcia still has the hype behind him, even if he get his first lost against Tank Davis. I mean Davis is one of the best on that division, we can argue that he is, besides the unified champion in Devin Haney. So there's nothing that he can do in that weight and there are many stipulations that go against him when he sign the contract. So they are slowing rebuilding his name again by fighting a good knockout artist but haven't been in 140 lbs in Oscar Duarte. It's just me though, even if he afford to lose, maybe he can salvage his career but it might take sometime again. Just like what AJ is right now, back to back loses from Usyk, and yet he is still wanted to fight and will have to go against Wilder in the future as both of them have tune up fights schedule.

Well, Ryan has over 10 million followers on Instagram which made him rich even if he stops boxing. So I can't blame him for his exaggerated videos because he's got a lot of fans on social media. But I'm a hardcore boxing fan so I want him to get knocked out again. Cheesy

I don't know if Tank Davis is one of the best in the division because he's unproven. He's been in the division for years already but he never thought about fighting for the belts except talking and hyping himself. Haney, Shakur, Loma, and even Kambosos fought for the belts and proved their place in the division. I heard Kambosos and Loma might fight for the vacant IBF belt if Haney wins over Prograis. I guess Tank can get a free belt since his paper belt can be elevated by the WBA as its real champion if Haney vacates all his belts in favor of staying at 140.
543  Economy / Economics / Re: this makes a huge impact on the economy. on: November 29, 2023, 08:13:59 AM
I noticed majority of the people in my area tend to spend more money then usual when they get their salary, like buying things they don't really need.
I said majority of people because my dad owns a grocery store, I have noticed that most of the customers tend to buy more stuff on the 1st and 10th day of the month because on these days they get paid in my country.
I already seeing this pattern on news or business related youtube videos, but I didn't think it was a big deal.
Now I realized that its very important to consider this behavior of people when making business decisions because it can have a big impact on the sales or finances.
I am surprised by it because in my family we usually buy only things we really need, I am starting to understand how other people's spending habits can affect the business.

Do you also find yourself spending more on you payday?, or you approach your expenses differently?

My parents used to always shop for basic necessities monthly when they just got their salary at the beginning of the month, they would definitely set aside half of the money to save as savings so that when an emergency happened, we wouldn't have money difficulties and because my parents get a salary on a regular monthly basis, it is better to spend on a month's needs rather than buying them on a daily basis and currently I actually also apply the same thing, I shop for my family's basic needs weekly because my partner and I earn money regularly weekly, we save the rest for our future needs. spend the money you get for your important daily needs then save the rest, that's the teaching my parents keep telling me.

I really hope all people have the same mindsets except for those rich people since they already have the luxury to do it anytime. Buying supplies daily or a few days in between is somewhat costly and time-consuming compared to buying weekly or monthly. I also buy my supplies every month and some of them are even good for over a month. There are also discounts when bulk buying. Saving is a must for a normal family and companies and institutions should always remind their workers about it. Some companies here in my country used to have yearly assessments of their employees' financial situations and I find it very useful
544  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 29, 2023, 07:52:30 AM
So as expected earlier, the San Antonio Spurs led by a rookie phenom has lost 12 straight games. Luckily for Wemby, it is not the worst, the longest losing streak on the Spurs' franchise was 16. At the moment, they are on a long rest which can re-energize them a lot. I guess their next game against Atlanta is crucial, they should win it and cut the streak while they're at home. Otherwise, I'll start betting again that they'll make history in their franchise since they're facing stronger opposition after their game with Atlanta.

Might be good to beat on them though as they will surely be the underdogs in their every game and who knows, they might suddenly win at least 1 game to break that spell and for us NBA bettors, it will be good.

But against Atlanta? still a solid team in my opinion. We will see though, it seems that there are a big pressure on the shoulders of Wemby now, they will have to stop that bleeding and he should lead the team

I haven't seen much of Atlanta's games this season. But they're supposed to win games and enter the playoffs. They have a decent roster although not like the other teams filled with All-Stars. And Atlanta just lost again today against the Cavs. They're in a 2-game losing streak. This might be a good chance to beat Wemby and the Spurs to end their losing streak. But should the Spurs lose against Atlanta, I'll be betting on their opponents again in their next games as they're heading to make franchise history.

Kings vs Warriors might be a good game tonight. They have this kind of rivalry in the bay area.

Yeah. Great match-up. Luckily, I haven't bet on a handicap since the Kings only won by a single point. GSW is known as a 3rd-quarter or a 2nd-half team but this game is the opposite as the Kings were trailing double digits until their rally in the second half that somehow gave them the sweet victory at home.

And yet OP is very active on free bets in this forum. OP, you're a hypocrite. If your father's life got ruined then it's because of his lack of discipline. It's like you telling to stop companies from selling ice cream because your father became addicted to it and became obese. Basically, everything is bad when done excessively, even eating.

Modern countries allow betting companies within regulations because it is another sort of fun and entertainment just like spending a ticket to watch a movie or paying to scare yourself riding in a rollercoaster. It's all a choice and people are lucky to live in modern countries where freedom exists.
Can't blame OP, it's not like everyone here practices what they preach strictly anyways also it's not like OP is trying to be a gamble hardcore because it's free bets right? It's not like OP is spending money. The difference was that OP's father's life got ruined in gambling because he spent money and got addicted to gambling. You're wrong about countries regarding allowing these betting companies, they allow them not because they think it's fun and entertaining for the people, they allow them and regulate them because gambling is a really good way to make money for the country through taxations on these companies, gambling industry is very different from entertainment industry in terms of why they're regulated and allowed.

Free bets or not if you despise betting and are telling people to stay out of it then just stop supporting it like creating accounts.

And yes, gambling is another type of entertainment. And you're wrong that governments allowed gambling just because it is a good way of making money through taxes. Governments have their own standards and rules for accepting business applications. Governments make it clear that businesses have a good purpose for their citizens. Maybe gambling is not for everyone since the poor should not bet but it's absolutely a form of entertainment for those who can afford it.
546  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Regis Prograis vs Devin Haney (9th of December) on: November 29, 2023, 07:02:06 AM
But with Haney, it's all about that "W" – the entertainment factor is usually missing in action in most, if not all, of his fights.

LOL, yeah, it's a bit sad but true. He's got that Mayweather style in him. It would be a amazing to witness if someone could really give him a challenging fight. Fingers crossed that Prograis might be the one to shake things up. I'm betting Prograis and his team are cooking up some strategies to counter Haney's style and come out on top.

With the fight just a few weeks away, time's flying! I hope they've cranked up the marketing strat to make this showdown a success, both at the venue and on PPV so they'll enjoy that sweet revenue, right?

His fight with Linares was actually one of his entertaining fights where he was forced to fight toe to toe. Almost beaten by that veteran but most of it is initiated by Linares. It's when you can find out that he really can open up to risk his chin in order for him to have a chance to counter. But this is when he finds out Linares isn't as fast as he was in his prime days but to sum it up there is a good exchange in that fight. So far nothing else even if you watch his old fights.

I remember Haney hugged Linares more than you can imagine in a boxing fight. Haney was somehow forced to engage because Linares is a quick type of fighter. Linares would've been quicker but he was already past his prime during their fight.

This time though, Haney is facing a slower fighter in Prograis. What Prograis needs is proper timing. Prograis should also be the aggressor in this fight because Haney can run all night and throw jabs and quick combinations enough to win a decision. Prograis also needs to be the stronger fighter so he can never allow Haney to easily hug him. Haney is also a dirty fighter who throws punches while hugging so Prograis should be the first to initiate a dirty fight every time he gets hugged.

548  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Question for those who loose too frequently in gambling on: November 28, 2023, 06:43:55 AM
There are only 2 types of people who continue to bet even if they are losing most of the time. It's either they're addicted so they continue betting without thinking. The other one is a responsible gambler. There are also times when I keep on losing but I still continue betting. Most of the time I just stop betting for days or weeks and then when I'm back again. It's because I am betting within my limits so I am not really worried if I lose. And since I enjoy betting, I have no plans of stopping unless it is necessary for me to stop.

550  Economy / Economics / Re: What would you do in this situation? Invest or save? on: November 28, 2023, 06:00:24 AM
If my dream business requires an estimated capital of $20k and I only have $15k, I will not start another business. Instead, I will use that $15k to invest in crypto. There's no guarantee in crypto investing but we do know that bitcoin so far has 100% success of growth every halving and the following year. And since bitcoin halving is already happening next year, I will absolutely start investing right now. I'll do a monthly DCA of $1k in bitcoin until its price reaches $50k. $500 monthly on ethereum. Maybe in the middle of next year, I'll be open to any new opportunities in crypto as well. In previous years NFT and metaverse made headlines so we better watch out on what's something new in this cycle.

By the end of 2025, I am expecting my crypto portfolio to surpass $20k. So by that time, the crypto market is expected to correct heavily, and it is time to start the dream business.
551  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why the rich win gambling more than the poor. on: November 28, 2023, 05:37:33 AM
That's why they're rich because they know how to grow and handle money. Gambling is not a good source of income. These rich people might be risking big amounts but it's actually small in terms of their assets. Most poor people have less understanding of how the financial system and gambling works. Actually, poor people aren't supposed to gamble regularly. Gambling is also about a deeper pocket which is why the house usually wins but the rich also have the funds and for that reason, they can sustain losses until luck changes sides.

Losing is normal as we don't have the luck all the time. So we better not insist and keep on betting. In the end, it is always better to stay within our limits and be responsible adults.
552  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What Coin is Best for short term speculation on: November 28, 2023, 05:15:04 AM
It depends on what kind of best. If it is about multiplying your investment to the highest level then it certainly belongs to the riskiest coins out there, probably meme coins, new coins, or low-valued projects. In terms of stability, the best coins are obviously bitcoin and then followed by ethereum.

Right now my portfolio is still heavily into bitcoin at around 70%, ethereum at 15%, and the rest are doge, link, sys, gala. I'm also planning to take once again some risk on new coins but I'll do it next year which is the halving year where the market is expected bullish.
553  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Binance CEO CZ bumaba sa pwesto, at nagkipagsettle on: November 27, 2023, 12:04:25 PM

Wala naman kasing mas easiest at the same time mura pa para pang cashout.
554  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Ryan Garcia vs Oscar Duarte (December 2) on: November 27, 2023, 11:52:48 AM
Garcia still attracts a lot of boxing fans but they need to see a Garcia who can become a multi-title boxing champion, not a social media king, and this will be answered on December 2.

He is a total package, handsome, knows how to use his mouth, and boasted of a lot of followers from his social media account. And if I'm not mistaken, he could be the most followed boxer, or at least top 3 or top 5.

You can remove the 'handsome' part, as I'm quite certain that's not the primary reason why he has numerous fans eager to watch his fights. Besides, most boxing fans are men, and the focus is on a real fighter who can dominate opponents in the ring and deliver an impressive win.

I believe the reason he has a good number of fans is his ability to generate buzz by talking a lot. He easily captures attention and gains traction in the boxing world.

I'm talking about his social media presence because that factor also includes why Ryan Garcia is popular. Take for example his Twitter (X) account, https://twitter.com/RyanGarcia. It has almost 300,000 followers, do you think all of them is boxing fans? Of course, not, majority of the followers could be ladies, because of his good looks (no homo).

And again we compare him to his boss Oscar Dela Hoya, this is an old 17 year article from the Internet.

Quote
De La Hoya, for his part, can’t match Ali’s braggadocio, nor does he try. That’s not to say, however, that people don’t take notice of his looks. But where Ali gained fans by actively outshining the opposition, De La Hoya has actually lost support due to his slick appearance. Why hate a fighter for being beautiful?

https://www.popmatters.com/peterson060522-2496177344.html

So perhaps that's one reason as well why there are some hate on Ryan Garcia.

I think a lot of women are also following Ryan just like Oscar when he was still fighting. Oscar used to be cheered by a lot of women even during his weigh-ins. Although Oscar is more decorated being a gold medalist in the Olympics before becoming a 6 division world champion. But Oscar marketed Ryan just like himself who also started from humble beginnings. Both have similar storylines as both are inspired by their moms and were marketed as sweet handsome kids who have ambitions to conquer. Ryan at 20 years old purchasing his mom a brand new house and a Mercedes became a trend outside the boxing community. Ryan is also more active on Instagram with over 10 million followers and it made him financially well.
555  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: November 27, 2023, 11:16:37 AM
I am presently watching Benavidez vs. Andrade. I reckon if this Andrade has good stamina and he can maintain this performance, he might have a chance. However, it appears that he became careless on the last seconds of the 4th round. This might be caused by low stamina and being tired.

I am quite certain that this will end before round 7. I will be very shocked if Andrade will go to a decision heheheh.

Andrade's awkwardness kept him in the fight for a while but Benavidez is too strong and every body shot was zapping the energy out of Demetrius.
Benavidez was never hurt by Andrade so he just pushed his way forward and broke him down.

On the undercard I was impressed with Subriel Matias who maintains his perfect KO win ratio and also improved his streak of wins by retirement. I don't know if it's a record but 5 straight opponents quitting is even better than Lomachenko's streak when he earned the nickname "Nomaschenko".  A unification against Teofimo Lopez could probably sell out Madison Square Garden.

Jermall Charlo looked a bit rusty but still got the win against a naturally smaller Jose Benavidez Jr., who also only has one good leg. Charlo's best days may be in the past and I can't see him being competitive against Canelo or Jose's brother David. It seems like his best option might be Caleb Plant.

Too bad I was late in this event. If the sport is all about achievements then Matias-Ergashev is definitely the main event. Nonetheless, it's the only title fight and is the best match-up of the event. I have high regard for Ergashev, what I just don't like leading into his first title fight is his more than a year of inactivity. It'll be cool if Matias is given the chance by PBC to unify his belt against the other champions. But I doubt PBC will allow its popular but underserving WBA champion Rolly to get butchered by the Rican which should be the easiest to make as both are in the same promotion. WBC champion Prograis is with Matchroom while the lineal and WBO champion Lopez is with Top Rank.

I expected Jermall to destroy the sacrificial lamb, Jose Benavidez but he failed. If Jermall won't get Canelo next, I hope he won't face another bum next and should fight Plant, Morrell, or Benavidez. He should've been stripped of his WBC belt.

The main event was also expected so I did not even bother to score. If that was an active and younger version of Andrade a few years ago, I'd give him a better chance of finishing the whole 12 rounds due to his awkwardness, better reflexes and he's used to fighting long fights. What's more interesting is if he gets Canelo next with his long overdue WBC mandatory. But I'll be fine matching him against Morrell or Jermall if there's no Canelo.

Hmm, so it seems like I have no choice but to buy bitcoin at any price for my November DCA. When it was at $30k something I thought the price movement was too quick so there should be a slight correction at least at $28k. Then it's $35k I planned to buy it once it drop to $30k again. We're now about a week before the month ends and the price still hasn't dropped even if there were postponement news and there's the CEO of crypto's largest exchange Binance giving up his post.

So is the current price at $37k still a FOMO when the previous bitcoin ATH was at $60k something? Grin
