We have a few days of DOTA rest before the Riyadh Master starts 5 days from now. While SEA is probably in its weakest season, another player is joining another team outside the region. Entity has a new offlane in this tournament, Gabbi.
And this makes Ceb play for the current OG squad as their pos 4. This is like version 2 of The International and for sure teams are going to go all in on this one.

That's cool. Every team that feels like they are still capable of winning has to change and do some experiments because last year, final qualifiers Team Secret and Liquid went on to play very well unexpectedly and finished 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Meanwhile, Quest Esports who's also on a good run lately and is clearly a black horse if it is able to qualify for TI thru the last qualifier seems to have some internal issues. A week ago, they parted ways with their coach Accell. And then ATF whose loan contract had just expired decided to leave citing Quests' offer as unacceptable. This is weird, Saudi is pouring millions to billions of dollars into events, sports, and esports so I guess ATF's concern is not about the money. So I guess Quest won't be the same again in the coming Riyadh Masters and TI Last Qualifier.

^^ It's a different story though if you are going to ask Bud Crawford. But they both admit that they talk on the phone for at least 30 minutes just to be sure that they are both on the same page as far as fighting each other.

So that is good enough to know that at least they go old school, I mean they are the one who makes the fight and didn't go the route on "talk to my manager". And with that, everything is set now. We will finally see a unification fight at 147 lbs and this is going to be huge.

Let's just hope that all of that were true and that Spence is indeed genuine about what he is saying because it will not be the first time either if he will act like a fool again and make another circus in the following weeks to make the fight in vain. Anyway, there's two more weeks to go and it seems that this fight is already unstoppable because judging from the All Access, both boxers are already looking forward to dance inside the ring.

Props to Bud Crawford for doing his best to finally make this fight. He made a lot of sacrifices for this fight to happen. I believe Spence was finally persuaded by Bud after learning about the mouth-watering 1.2 million PPV buys of the Tank-Kingry fight which generated over a hundred million dollars in revenue. Although there is indeed a chance for Spence to make a fool of himself by making excuses like an injury. But I believe that this fight is really going to happen. Spence is not getting younger too and those sanctioning bodies cannot protect him forever from facing these young high-risk and low-reward mandatory contenders.
1123  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are successful gamblers seen as addicts? on: July 14, 2023, 07:55:32 PM
Is an excessive gambler already an addict? But successful gamblers can be termed as professional gamblers rather than branded as addicts. Are we going to call Lionel Messi an addict or a successful e-sport DOTA 2 player worth millions of dollars a computer addict? There are a lot of people here in Bitcointalk that spend a lot of hours daily, they're addicts as well right? So it's like all people that excelled in their fields are addicts.

So addiction is not really bad after all. As long as we are benefitting it in a positive manner and we are able to balance our lives then I guess we're good.
1124  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Anthony Joshua vs Dillian Whyte II on: July 14, 2023, 07:34:17 PM

I wonder if Wilder is really next but it will be a very interesting fight. It would've been bigger than Fury-Wilder when they were both champions and undefeated and for the undisputed. Still, better late than never. But we'll see if they are really going to face each other next. The WBC already mandated Wilder and Ruiz for the final eliminator which means the winner will face Tyson Fury which is not really cool if we see another Fury-Wilder.

Probably it's going to happen Joshua's promoter has been entertaining this fight but Joshua wants to regain his confidence so he opted to fight Whyte instead, so if he wins against Whyte and Wilder wins against Ruiz they will face each other, it's not good to see another Fury and Wilder fight, I prefer the Wilder Usyk match the heavyweight division has a lot of great fights coming and there's a lot of new faces and familiar faces coming for the title, expect exciting fights in the heavyweight division.

I have the feeling that Wilder is also yet recovering mentally from his back-to-back brutal losses to Tyson Fury. Though he might have won a first-round KO in his return bout against Helenius, he was the one running backward instead of the other way around. If not for that huge counter, Helenius would've been able to do some damage on Wilder. The Ruiz fight will determine if Wilder is really back to his usual confidence when he was undefeated. And if Wilder wins, he also needs to decide if he goes for AJ or he will rematch Fury for the fourth time.

There are a lot of good fights to happen in this division with Usyk-Fury for the undisputed belts as the biggest. Usyk after Dubois might also get another mandatory from the IBF against the undefeated Filip Hrgovic and the WBO if Joe Joyce wins his rematch against Zhang. Only a unification fight with Fury will excuse Usyk from his mandatories.

Reports are coming out stating that James Harden is done in a Sixers uniform. Apparently he has had some disagreements with the GM of the Sixers and doesn’t want to play in Philly anymore. Shocker, Harden and Kyrie Irving can’t find places to be happy… People close to Harden are saying he has his heart set on playing for the Clippers this season.

I've seen the news about Clippers too. There's a pretty good squad there, I think Harden can play very well on a team like this. The Clippers are negotiating with a few more players, if they can continue to strengthen the roster, we will see a very good team in the Playoffs. This may be why Harden is so insistent on the Clippers Smiley

It is surprising because Harden mentioned before that he is happy in Philly and I believe it. The disagreement caused him to demand another trade. Honestly, the Clippers on paper are a great team but I am losing hope in Kawhi Leonard's ability to play a complete season or the playoffs. And just like Portland's approach to Lillard's trade demand, Philly will also shop Harden to other teams in case they can get better returns in this trade.

I felt bad for Embiid here, the current MVP lost an important teammate and there is no assurance that they will get another star player for Harden's replacement.
1126  Economy / Speculation / Re: This year is dumping ground for bitcoin on: July 14, 2023, 06:50:22 PM
I don't understand what this guy is talking about. From the date this post was created, bitcoin went on to grow more than 20% of its price. And if we talk about this year's bitcoin price performance, we are nearly 200% up already. So it doesn't make any sense that this year is totally a dumping ground. I even believe that bitcoin price will reach between $35k to $40k at its highest this year. Generally, bitcoin price movement this year is the opposite of last year's movement.

Maybe OP is expecting bitcoin to only increase in price with no corrections along the way? Or bitcoin will return to its ATH this year? I observed that it is always the inexperienced newbies that are getting desperate and disappointed every time bitcoin hits a correction.
1127  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What could make you get into a fight with your fellow gambler? on: July 14, 2023, 03:27:38 PM
Gambling has nothing to do with the nonsense. It is all about the personality of the persons involved in the story. IMO the winnings should be divided equally unless they both have pre-arranged agreement in case the bet wins. The person holding the account is just greedy, immature, and ignorant and for wanting a big chunk of the winnings.

So far I never experienced having trouble just because of a disagreement in gambling. In the past when I am mostly into peer-to-peer betting, every condition are discussed and agreed upon to make things smooth. Actually, they're all just simple and not complicated.
1128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Be watchful it's not yet time on: July 13, 2023, 08:53:00 PM
Well, I already started to slowly accumulate some altcoins on my buy list. It may look too early but I guess this is the perfect time to do a DCA on the top altcoins. We can always sell some during big pumps and then buy back again when the prices drop.

New coins are always very risky so it is better to avoid most of them until the market is clearly bullish which is expected to happen next year. There are exceptions though especially when their platforms are already existing like Arbitrum, Zk, and other projects.
1129  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: July 13, 2023, 07:51:26 PM
The MPL Indonesia tournament started today and I saw two matches that took place. It's surprising that it's been almost two years since I watched or followed MPL developments, but for this season I'm again interested in betting on one of the MPL Indonesia Esports tournaments. For tomorrow's match there are two BTR vs GEEK and AURA vs RRQ matches. This is a great opportunity to place bets as it is an esports tournament whose outcome is easy to predict.
Given that MPL matches are a little less difficult to predict than Dota 2 and LOL, it appears that not many people are interested in betting there.
But in reality, I also participated in this game; I merely waited a few games to attempt to get predictions about which club would prevail.
Upcoming matchups that I haven't entirely predicted but have tried to forecast are BTR vs GEEK (BTR victory), and AURA vs RRQ (AURA win). If my assumption is accurate, I'll try to forecast and wager on the following game.

I think there are a lot of bettors already in Mobile Legends, especially in the eastern part of Asia. Most of my DOTA 2 friends are into this game as they shifted during the pandemic as this is easier, more accessible and the game is much faster to finish. ML continues to grow although I am not sure how many hardcore players admire a mobile game.

I watched many games during the M4 and it was the first time. All I know is that Indonesia is one of the powerhouses in this game. There were a lot of fans and the atmosphere looked great. A few days ago I saw a lot of comments saying M4 in Indonesia was more lively than this year's DOTA 2 Bali Major.

Okay, so BetBoom is able to secure proper documents early and passed in the visa qualifiers. Are they just applying for visas in advance or they were already informed by Valve that they are part of the TI? But I am optimistic that BetBoom is indeed heading into TI with its complete roster. It's going to be very interesting.

We have a few days of DOTA rest before the Riyadh Master starts 5 days from now. While SEA is probably in its weakest season, another player is joining another team outside the region. Entity has a new offlane in this tournament, Gabbi.
1131  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 13, 2023, 03:33:38 PM
Anyone seen the much touted Jaron "Boots" Ennis this weekend against Roiman Villa? He won by a 10 round stoppage, and later it was found out that Villa suffered a broken nose. For sure we have heard his name as he is the rising star at 147 lbs and said to be the next champion and his name have been put into the discussions against Spence and Crawford.

So the hype is real, maybe him and WBA 'regular' champion Eimantas Stanionis will be a perfect match as both have been rank high in the stacked division. And as reported, Stanionis fight with Ortiz was cancelled.

Here is the KO: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rJZbtrut1sw

Jaron Ennis looks like the real deal. The IBF has not required Errol Spence to make a mandatory defense in 5 years so I don't expect that fight to happen anytime soon. The risk is too high and the reward too low which is why the top welterweights have avoided him. Both Ennis and Stanionis have been waiting for their opportunity to face Spence that they are owed as interim champions. PBC controls the welterweight division and has great influence over the sanctioning organizations and they seem to have no interest in seeing either fighter derail their plans for their cash cow Spence so we might just end up with them fighting each other in the meantime.

Sanctioning bodies nowadays are more friendly towards the big promoters and networks. They even adjust their own rankings in order to cater to these huge networks, promoters, and superstars. It's just so sad that these young prospects are wasting their years because their title shots are on hold. Vergil Ortiz is my top prospect of the division, if I remember correctly, he was already former #1 in the WBO and the WBC. Maybe it was Oritz and GBP's decision not to pursue the WBO since Crawford at the time looked invincible but it is crazy how the WBC changed its rankings and then called Thurman mandatory. It was annoying for Stanionis when the fight got canceled but maybe it was a blessing in disguise because Ortiz is a very very tough fighter and it will be more difficult for him to win in Texas.

I hope the rematch of Crawford and Spence will be held at 154 so Stanionis and Ennis will be elevated to full champions as they really deserved it. If Ortiz will continue his career once he gets healed then he can take the WBO route. Thurman most likely gets the WBC title shot but I doubt he can mixed it up with these young upcoming stars.
1132  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight (july15,2023 on: July 13, 2023, 02:22:34 PM
^ And I thought that the fight is going to be cancelled.

But if they are going to be included in the Spence vs. Crawford then the better for Nonito itself. For sure everyone is excited to see this fight in the undercard for the one of the most anticipated fight this year. I might chance my stance on the numbers, it might reach near 1 million because of this inclusion in the line up. So still, Donaire is the favorite although Santiago is chirping away some odds on his favor too.

I'm a bit disappointed that i won't be watching this fight on this weekend but on the other hand, happy that in spite of all of the circumstances leading into this fight, still this will happen and the good thing is that it will be in the undercard of the most awaited fight for this year.

As what @bbc,reporter have said that this fight will add more eyes to the Spencer-Crawford fight and definitely, it will also add revenue on the PPV as some of the millions of fans of Nonito will buy just to watch this fight.

If the odds for Santiago continues to go high then good for those who still believe in the power of the old man, might be slower this time but the timing is still there and he just needed a couple of punches to KO Santiago I believe.

This is a huge upgrade to the Crawford-Spence fight. I saw comments on social media praising this move. Every PPV event is supposed to be filled with great match-ups and at least 2 championship fights but we seldom see it nowadays. Prior to the move, the main supporting event is Pitbull Cruz against undefeated Giovanni Cabrera who seemed raw to this level of fight but hats off to him for taking it anyways.

The Mexicans and the huge Mexican-American community now have more reason to buy this event. In Ph, I wonder if this fight can be seen on regular tv aside from the live PPV which not everyone can afford.
1133  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 13, 2023, 01:43:19 PM
Dang Portland is willing for the waiting game on the Damian Lillard trade. So it seems that the Miami Heat only has a 50% chance of getting Lillard. The open market is silent right now, but the teams are pretty sure busy making negotiations away from public eyes. If Miami Heat cannot execute a good deal before the start of the season, then they are in for a rude awakening after losing Struss and Vincent who are both vital for the team.

Meanwhile, Victor Wembanyama just made a remark saying the NBA is less physical than his games in Europe. I don't know if it is the San Antonio management that wanted the kid to stay out of the media for a while but it is a good decision. The kid is still young and maybe immature with his thoughts just like when he said before that he doesn't need to gain weight in the NBA. Cheesy

Guys, is there a decision of Valve already for the DPC points of BetBoom prior to the TI12?

I saw some post that they've already decided and there's no deduction to their points of what Pure has made. If that's the decision and it's official then that's good for BetBoom as they'll be the one to complete the 12 teams to have a direct invite for the upcoming The International.

I am also waiting for Valve to make a public announcement on the issue but until then silence means there is nothing to change with regards to the DPC points. BetBoom also posted the other day the ranking wherein they are still at #12 so it could be that they were already informed that there will be no more additional punishment. I am glad that they remain intact. I did notice a comment wishing good luck for the visa qualifiers. Cheesy

Before TI we'll have the Riyadh Masters. We will see if BetBoom's rise to power is not a fluke. There's the juicy $15 million prize pool, so all of the participating teams will surely give it all as well. Many are getting bored of GG's dominance this year but I honestly find it interesting and they deserved those wins.
1135  Economy / Economics / Re: What's is daily budgets or expenses as a bitcoiner? on: July 12, 2023, 08:35:23 PM
When I was living in the downtown of a metro city, I was well aware of my daily expenses. I always eat outside so it was pretty easy to track and make regular daily budgets.

Now that I am living a little far, I cannot follow a daily budget. I need to cook my own food which means I also need to buy groceries. But I have lesser expenses when it comes to food and I am not paying monthly rent anymore. At the moment, $300 should be enough for my monthly cost of living but this does not include personal insurance for health, pension fund, and other necessities.
1136  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Anthony Joshua vs Dillian Whyte II on: July 12, 2023, 08:13:46 PM
Lol, even at the press conference, Dillian Whyte ask Eddie Hearn what's the taste of Joshua's ball. Because obviously, Hearn is still on Joshua's bandwagon and wanted to resurrect his career because admit it or not,  he is not longer in his prime with back to back loses to Usyk.

It could have been great if Hearn would answer "salty",  Cheesy.

But he says that Whyte will have to find it out during their fight.
Anthony Joshua needs to win this fight to meet Deontay Wilder which will be a new down in his challenged career but Dillian Whyte can spoil his day. Derek Chisora who was knocked out by Whyte in 2018 is predicting that although Joshua will find it difficult to win the fight but he would eventually will the match. He is predicting that Joshua will have a slow start but he will gradually improve in the game. One of the reasons he gave for Joshua's difficulty is the long flight from his training ground in Texas to Vegas before taking another eight hours flight to London. Chisora said that the long flights will make him tired which will be an advantage to Dillian Whyte who is training in Florida.

source

I guess this fight doesn't need to last long. Typically, in heavyweight fights, the match often ends early due to their knockout power and the potential fatigue that comes with their size as the rounds progress. However, if the fight were to last longer, I believe the advantage would be with the younger boxer, which in this case would be AJ.

Come on Derek Vaseline! Cheesy AJ and his team will fly back to the UK earlier as they do not want their fighter jet-lagged during fight night. But AJ is still a changed fighter and will hesitate to engage right away. AJ and his team knew that Whyte is known to fatigue in the late rounds so they will try to box and fight smart and will only go for the kill when the opportunity arises. But I do hope that Whyte is fully conditioned and has enough gas to go to war for 12 rounds if necessary. Because this is the only way he can win.

1137  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight (july15,2023 on: July 12, 2023, 07:44:25 PM
@btc_angela. I am not as optimistic as you on Nonito Donaire. If you again watch his rematch against Inoue, you will see that Nonito has already become slower in the ring in his older age. Also, coming back after a knockout loss at 40 years old? I shake my head why his wife allowed him to fight.

I respect Nonito, he is one of my favorite boxers and I consider him a little more skillful than Pacman, however, if to place money on him for this fight as the favorite? Diffcult hehe.

Since Donaire returned to this division, he relied heavily on his power, timing, and experience. But of course, as the years go by he will become slower and slower. And as Donaire mentioned, as long as his opponents do not possess Naoya and his power then he is good. And Inoue is quicker than Santiago and he is also a KO artist while the Mexican is not.

Many people expected Donaire to hang it up after his loss to Carl Frampton. It was a big surprise when he announced his entry into the WBSS tournament which needs him to drop 2 divisions. And it is even more surprising when he continued to fight after the tournament. Luckily for him, he is gifted with a power that is too hard to handle in this division.

I felt like Donaire continued his career for financial reasons. I also blamed his wife some years ago for why she let Donaire continue and that unbelievable drop in 2 weight classes that Donaire continued to make these days. Rachel Donaire is also Nonito's manager.

1138  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How was your first experience with gambling? on: July 12, 2023, 11:21:00 AM
I'd been gambling since I was a kid. But the first time I gambled online was around a decade ago. I am a sports enthusiast and I followed too many of them so I am well aware of those gambling sites' advertisements and sponsorships. So it was around a decade ago when at last I tried it by using my brother's bank account. I was looking for better odds during an NBA playoff rather than the usual peer-to-peer betting here in my country. I had accounts on Bet365 and Paddypower back then.

When I started to invest in bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, I also shifted to betting sites that offer cryptocurrencies as I found them easier and less complicated when transferring and withdrawing funds, and at the same time, I plan to invest more and hold bitcoin and other coins long-term.
1139  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it safe to keep your money in bank? on: July 12, 2023, 11:00:54 AM
Even if we say that there is still a bit of risk when we put money in the bank, it seems that in some other way, it is still really necessary in this age. All that is needed is perhaps to be careful in choosing the bank where we put the money.

Although, I don't trust much either, maybe even if I open one, I won't enter a large amount, as long as I know if it's necessary, because the e-wallet is actually in demand right now... And e-wallets are often accepted here in our country via p2p.

Just sharing this information mate in case you do not know. Almost all banks in our country are registered under PDIC, a government-owned insurance corporation. This means there is an insurance of P500k (around $10k) per bank depositor. If you have more than P500k then you can simply apply for another account to the other banks if you want to make sure that all your cash is protected by banks insurance. Only the very small banks especially the rural banks that have low assets are not applying for the nation's insurance. So we don't have to really get scared about losing our money in the bank unless our laptops and other gadgets are prone to malware which is not the fault of the bank.

So generally, yes it is safe to keep our money in the bank. But nowadays, people are more aware due to the internet of investing opportunities like cryptocurrencies, stocks, and other forms of growing our hard-earned money. So it is best to only keep money in the bank for our regular transactions and our emergency funds since the interest rates are very very low and are far from covering inflation.

1140  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: July 11, 2023, 09:46:49 PM
^^ Yes, saw this posts, not sure if the words comes directly from Donaire's mouth, but in any case, yes, I think I would say that 90% of the current 118 lbs, Donaire can beat them, not name Naoya Inoue.

So just a couple more days, between the two, and hopefully we will see some hype in the media as well as this is very important fight because WBC will have a new bantamweight champion in the process.

Yeah, I am pretty sure Donaire is aware of the current situation. The power of Donaire is just too much in this division. Since becoming a champion after that huge KO upset over Vic Darchinyan, there were only 2 fighters in this division and below that were able to survive Donaire's power punches, long-time champion Omar Narvaez who went turtle defense throughout the whole fight and Rafael Concepcion who came in 2 division overweight.

A few more days left and we will see if Donaire who's turning 41 this year will be able to break his own previous record as the oldest champion in this division's history. Santiago is not a KO artist so he is expected to move and box. Santiago only suffered a single knockdown in his whole career once which means his chin is tough and it will be put to another huge test this weekend. And we will also see if Donaire won't tire out in the late rounds if he cannot catch Santiago in the first 7 rounds.
