1421  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: May 05, 2023, 09:31:43 PM
What delays this fight is due to the promotional issues of Donaire. Probellum already ceased to exist due to its involvement with the Kinahans. So Bob Arum is once again correct and some of us thought he was just making excuses to avoid his ward Moloney facing Donaire. Moloney is already fighting next week for the vacant WBO belt while old Donaire's next fight still has no venue and a specific date.

Richard Schaefer should work this out fast because neither Donaire nor Santiago wanted to overtrain. There is no such thing as having a serious training camp that will last for 4 months or more. That is not beneficial and will have bad effects on the fighters. Maybe Schaefer should ask to return the favor of his friend Al Haymon to temporarily handle some of his fighters and stage this fight.
1422  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: May 05, 2023, 09:10:15 PM

All of that might be found on his new journey and as of now, it's already rumored that he already have another one to coach him but I don't think he will be given enough time because that same coach is also the coaches of Anthony Joshua, Charlo and Errol Spence. But I have no doubts that he can a learn a thing or two in this new coach because he also trained numerous champions already.

So it's going to be a repeat on Ryan Garcia as you have said, remember that he left Eddy Reynoso because he thinks that he is not giving him enough time, as Eddy had Canelo Alvarez that was his excused and so he parted ways and go to Joe Goosen.

So doesn't make sense to go to Derrick James then?

Anyhow, we wait if this marriage will work in the future, imagine Ryan becoming slick and improved his footwork with his new trainer. Because it seems that James is known to train black athletes so maybe he can improved Ryan a bit.

I would trust Reynoso and Canelo's words rather than the very talkative unproven Ryan Garcia. Reynoso has the time but he wants his precious time only for those that are fully devoted and follows his advice. The same with Canelo, he allowed some athletes like Oscar Valdez, Andy Ruiz, and Ryan Garcia to join his training camp but they need to train like hell and not bring negativity to the camp.

Derrick James was in my mind too but I did not mention it because the Charlos and Spence are very close friends of Tank. Spence seems cool but the Charlos might bully and laugh at Garcia if they are in the same camp. I can feel deep inside that Ryan is hurting and wants revenge because he was not given the chance to fight Tank at the weight class he wants. Maybe James can fly to the place where Ryan can establish his training camp but I am not sure if his ego is capable of surviving in the same training camp with the Charlos. There is even the chance of Tank visiting his friends in training.

Ryan won't become slick overnight but James can help him set up his punches properly and work on his defense. He really has the habit to become wide and open when he throws his power punch and Tank knew it.
1423  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Chat GTP destroy poker on-line gambling??? on: May 05, 2023, 08:50:15 PM
Chat GTP can only provide us with what is available for analysis and computations. It is not capable of reading specific people's minds and emotions in predicting the future based on fantasies. In a poker game, Chat GPT can only provide you the chances of winning your cards based on what is seen on the deck and its remaining cards.

So it's like a better version of a scientific calculator because it saves you time and effort from memorizing and making calculations based on your mind which is not that easy. Maybe in the future, a robot can read people's expressions and gestures that might help assess if they are worried and or comfortable with their cards.
Chat GTP is vital for students, and they made full use of it. Computer science students utilized it to repair code bugs, while other students used it to improve their essay writing skills and pose needless questions that required irrelevant answers. Chat GTP has surpassed other social media platforms; I found it useful in so many ways, but it's also detrimental since students will currently wake up and give chat GTP instructions on what happens next in the house. Saving and instructing chat GTP on online tasks to complete within a few seconds or minutes can completely stimulate their laziness and relenting in their activities as students and children.

I agree although we cannot deny the fact that generally speaking, Chat GPT is a big help not just to students. Very busy people can save time and effort due to Chat GPT. It might cause laziness to some people, especially to the next generation but they can always divert the time they save to other activities that makes them productive. The future will become more futuristic because basic stuff like doing research is becoming easier.

Chat GPT brings a lot to the table but at least online poker gambling is still competitive as it is. It might help someone to have an easier time making calculations but that is all this AI can bring. There is still zero chance of knowing the cards of its competitors and those that are in the deck.
1424  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is $30 dollars worth starting bitcoin? on: May 05, 2023, 08:30:57 PM
In my opinion it is a small amount to benefit from bitcoin. because the movement of bitcoin is very fast and very risky if the bitcoin market is going down drastically and, you can still invest $30 in bitcoin because there is no limit in investing in bitcoin. but don't expect to get a very large profit with very little capital. and in my opinion capital with $ 100 also does not have a large enough profit when bitcoin is on the rise and only get a small portion of the profit.

Yeah, profit from investments depends on the amount of capital although this also depends on the types of risk. Altcoins with small amounts have the chance to earn big but the risk is just too high. Bitcoin however is the most reliable but its growth in the next few years might not be that high so earnings from investments are also not that big if the capital is too small like $30.

Nonetheless, it is better to have investments rather than none at all. And the fact that someone has to squeeze a part of their tight income brings me the positivity that the guy has the mentality and the potential to become financially successful in the future. And it is also the rule of investing to start small since there is always the chance to make it grow in the next days to come.
1425  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 05, 2023, 08:10:09 PM
It was more or less clear that we would see a more resilient Warriors in game two as the Lakers took the home advantage after the first game they played very well. It was important for the Lakers to get a game, they did it. The second match could have been sacrificed. Now winning their home matches will be enough for them to pass the round. Anthony Davis was great in the first game, but he was like a ghost in the second game. LeBron also played very little in the second half when the gap widened. The bench contribution of players such as Hachimura and Walker is important. The Lakers should score more from the bench. If it's all up to the Davis, LeBron, Russell trio, it's tough. Every player has to contribute to the team. I would love to see the Lakers against the Nuggets in the Conference Finals. They have to win 3 more games and it will not be easy. They must defend in a way that breaks the Warriors' 3-point game plan.

We'll see if GSW can steal at least 1 in the next 2 games in LA. GSW had a bad winning record outside of their home but they must do it, it is the playoffs anyways and the team has too much experience in situations like this.

The Lakers however are capable of winning this series after bringing some players just before the trade deadline. The odds of this series remain in favor of GSW although it is close. AD needs to become consistent like Bron if it wants to win games. I am not really sold on to D'Lo, the guy is inconsistent as always over the years. The Lakers though have the depth now but they need to perform.
1426  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: MMA Info and Predictions - Bellator, KSW, PFL, ONE... on: May 05, 2023, 07:45:02 PM
I remember there was a claim before that bare-knuckle fights are safer than boxing and MMA. I haven't heard of casualties too but this should be due to their fights having shorter numbers of minutes per round and they have fewer rounds as well compared to boxing. Although I would like their rounds to be a little longer like 3 minutes per round. Without boxing gloves, hands are lighter so it will be faster and the impact will have more damage. But fighting bare knuckles can be prone to break hands.
Bare knuckle is just like a free fight in street Cheesy

I think it's more safer than boxing because the probability to have a serious brain injury or die is less, boxing is a known sport where it's ruined many boxers life. There's another stupid sport by Dana White, it's power slap. Unlike other sport where you can choose to avoid or minimizing taking damage, this sport make you have no way to avoid it lol.

I still wonder how this sport can get accepted by the regulations when it's really risky.

Bare knuckle isnt a street fight at all Cheesy At least because they have wrist tapes and some kind of rules Cheesy Doubt that is safer than boxing. Boxing has a cumulative damage, the result of punches will reveal itself with years. Bare knuckle - results are visible instantly Cheesy  But power slap is really more dangerous. In boxing or bare knuckle you at least have chances to dodge or protect yourself. In slap - it is a direct damage. It is super risky, as the edge between doing a slap and crippling a person is very small.

This power slap sport is indeed more dangerous if a participant becomes too active considering it does not need 8 to 10 weeks of serious training. While the slap impact on the face is not as hard as a fist, it is sure to land. I am not a medical expert but pretty sure being hit in the face even if there is a little distance from the upper side of the head can cause serious brain injury long term. Maybe in the future, the sport won't get approval from sports commissions anymore when there are proofs presented or when their athletes grow old and will show some of its effects.
1427  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA unders/overs tips on: May 04, 2023, 07:21:07 PM
The like they will be able to do it in the first half of the season. I don't know who is going to win the game, but I am not going to lie to you.

Mis is a tough one to take on the most important game of the season. The Spurs have been playing well for most of the season, but they haven't been the best team in the Eastern Conference. They need to improve their defensive play and that is going to be a key part of their game.

Min - Blazers under 226.5
Hawks Mavs under 242.5
Bucks - 76ers under 234

0-0 so far

The best part of this season has been to get a win on the road against the Spurs. They are in the midst of a playoff run and it looks

Weird. Are you a bot? But I doubt a bot can post like that. If not, what are you talking about mate? It seems like you came from a different dimension. The NBA is already in the conference semi-finals stage. Min (if you meant Minnesota), Blazers, and Mavs failed to qualify in the playoffs earlier. The Bucks are already out in the first round but it was the Miami Heat that beat them, not the 76ers.
Might be guessing things. We are now on the semi-finals and things are getting more interesting in NBA. Should be a closed thread I guess. But to those who are into NBA League especially this year wherein there are many changes with rosters,  betting is becoming more loud recently. One is with LAL and GSW who were rivals before. Odds are to LAL for game 2 even if they have won the first game and that is probably because of the homecourt advantage. Odds are simply the heart of the polls and will never dictate the outcome but could be an edge to gamblers as we all know. Die hard fans of each team are more likely pushing their biases to finals and the trophy itself. Glad that this season is havaing the hype as before.

Well, none of those guesses made it. The teams were not even accurate.

This playoffs is a little different. Dangerous well-experienced teams like GSW, Miami, and Lakers are in the bottom seeds and somehow managed to upset the top seeds.

Lakers vs GSW is really a close series. Prior to its start, I can say GSW only has a 55/45 slight edge. I already made a bet of -6.5 on GSW. They lost game 1 but it was close. And they badly needed a win before traveling to Los Angeles for the next 2 games. Money can be a factor to change odds because the house will try to balance its bets from both sides.
1428  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: May 04, 2023, 06:58:08 PM
I agree, boxing is now pure business, rival networks can't work with each other unless the fight is big and they are going to get 50/50, like in the Floyd vs Manny fight.

Building a legacy of a boxer is now always associated with the business. In fairness though, big networks and promoters are the only ones capable of organizing a big fight. Their influence can make a boxing fight generates a big revenue. The market strategy is a critical part of promoting a certain that's why they are doing everything and using all their resources to sell a fight.

As per Crawford, I don't blame him for being frustrated during his tenure at the Top Rank that's why he decided to part ways with Bob Arum but remaining a free agent is not really a good idea. He should at least consider finding another promoter.

Boxing Promotional Company / Networks > Boxing Sanctioning Bodies

I cannot blame a lot of people saying boxing is dying probably because there are big fights that are not happening. But the truth is boxing is still very much alive with purses getting bigger than ever. Before, there was only HBO and Showtime as the giant networks. Today we have DAZN, ESPN, and Showtime. The big difference before was the promoters can present big fights to either HBO or Showtime without much of a problem unlike nowadays.

I honestly think that Crawford did well under Top Rank. All his achievements during his days with Top Rank should be enough to enter the Hall of Fame soon. With or without Bob Arum, the Spence fight is not materializing and it even made him more inactive. I am not sure who's to blame that they went separate ways but I did do not like this very old version of Arum. Arum is in his 90s already and he seems too frank in public even hurting the image of his own fighters like when he mentioned before that he kept losing in some of Crawford's fights, and that Teofimo Lopez can go if someone overpays him. Or it could be Arum being old school is being conservative when it comes to money.

By the way @Kemarit, your wish seems granted. Tank is now #10 ranked by the Ring. Crazy! Cheesy Tongue

Hopefully, GG vs OG series ends earlier so I can stay awake since my bet is for Tunda playing against 9 Pandas.
It really ended too quick and it was just like abonus round for GG. Well, since mc is playing on OG. The famous quote about lower bracket has been applied to OG. And that is, "upper bracket is for b****s".

While it is currently on first map between Tundra and 9pandas. I like 9pandas to win this match up so that ramzes and quinn will face each other on the stage and having that game face.  Tongue

But before these, they've already been on the elevator at the same time and ramzes said that quinn was just facing the floor.

Yeah, that was real quick by GG. So well see how it goes. I still believe OG will win over the winner of EG vs Talon and enters the top 4.

Wish granted mate. We see a rematch between 9 Pandas and GG who just went to draw in the group stage. This time bo3 and with higher stakes with the winner earning a slot to the finals. I haven't seen an outright but it seems like GG is the favorite to win again another major.

Quinn's face reminds me of my friend in college. Silent and nerdy but wears metal clothes. We used to play DOTA overnight in an internet cafe with some of our friends. I only heard before that Ramzes is a bully. I didn't know he and Quinn have bad blood.
1430  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: May 04, 2023, 02:38:34 PM
I guess Ryan might not be satisfied on how him and Goosen put up their strategy. Anyways, we will see which one his going to pick next as he wanted to go and move up to 140 lbs.
That's probably the case and no matter how close they were as seen by the public, the results will speak for themselves and will make him realize that there's a need to change. Who are the candidates that he might pick or is anyone who's got a list of the potential replacement for Goosen after this parting ways?

I honestly see nothing really great about Ryan Garcia. He is good but not great and I do not even think he will ever become a world champion. Or maybe he can upset a champion or win a vacant belt because he is gifted with power but most likely he is not holding a world title for long. There's a huge difference between Garcia and the prospect days of Teofimo Lopez, Adrien Broner, etc.

Although he seemed to improve when he was accepted to join the team of Eddy Reynoso and Canelo Alvarez. But after his popularity continued to grow, he seemed distracted and tempted to enjoy life and it leads to their split. Joe Goossen is an experienced coach but he was probably picked earlier to cater to Garcia's demand.

After sacrificing and just following all of Tank's demands, the event was a huge success. Ryan can leave boxing and enjoy his life like he seems to always wants. Or maybe his ego is touched after the loss and will return. But if he wants to develop himself, he needs a coach that is Spartan-like when it comes to training and not a coach that will only follow his wants. I doubt Reynoso will open his doors again to Ryan. Maybe Sugar Hill Steward or Ronnie Shields?

Everyone is brutally destroyed in bare knuckle fights win or lose, they need to take a break and heal for many months after they finish fights.
This is extreme for me and I dont think it is worth of money to break down your body like this.

it is worth the watch but not for all faint-hearted for me bear-knuckle fights are just OK it is surely brutal because there are no certain gloves for the fighters but for me gloves or no glove it is still the same, in this Bare knuckle there are just no gloves but the effect is still the same in my opinion,

It's a growing sport and BKFC is spearheading it. I seldom watch them but KOs and TKO are indeed common. Cuts are very common as well, probably because they don't wear gloves.

I remember there was a claim before that bare-knuckle fights are safer than boxing and MMA. With that right mindset, everyone has a high chance of having a better future. Using cash only helps a lot as it makes you adjust and only buy stuff according to your priorities. It is easier to spend money by using debit and credit cards. Credit cards are even more worrisome to those people that have limited salaries. Having debts with interest because of groceries is a big NO.

Extra stuffs that are not part of our basic needs are not really bad sometimes. We just have to limit it according to our earnings. And savings for investments should be given priority over luxury.

I rarely visit land-based casinos. Many years ago, I used to bet mostly thru peer to peer and online sports betting with fiat. It was only after several months of investing in bitcoin that I finally decided to open accounts on some sports betting sites that are accepting it. Since then I continue to bet using bitcoin and sometimes altcoins too. Fiat online betting became a thing of the past as I felt more comfortable using crypto casinos and sports betting.

Another thing I notice is that most of the betting companies that are being promoted here in bitcointalk have their own representatives which makes it easier to settle issues.

2 big matches today. The semi-finals in the upper bracket. After OG's massive win over Team Liquid, they are now matched against one of the most consistent teams in this major. Liquid's really struggling to stay consistent with this new patch. Meanwhile, OG's weird in this major, they're doing well despite having 2 stand-ins. We'll see if their luck and momentum keep going but I guess Gaimin is at a different level.

Hopefully, GG vs OG series ends earlier so I can stay awake since my bet is for Tunda playing against 9 Pandas.

Made a bet on games between Team Aster and Evil Geniuses. These teams are almost equal but maybe the team from China will be able to win this one.

Congrats! Team Aster won against EG and as well as with BetBoom. There's now a triple tie in the group A and the first one that shall come to the playoffs is Team Aster.

The last game is EG and BetBoom and whoever wins this match which is just a best of 1 match will also join the playoffs while the losing team goes home.

Yesterday it was like that Team Liquid was one of the bottom teams but then they've managed to get to the upper bracket.

Nice win there mate! I actually bet on EG. It was annoying during the first aegis that they just easily gave it up. They would've at least tried to establish their presence near the pit. They knew Aster was only buying time to hold and for their cores to catch up and build items. The moment Aster had the aegis, it allowed them to farm and move with confidence.

Liquid finished strong in the last 2 days of the group stage. They went 5-1. BetBoom would've been in the upper bracket if they didn't lose 0-2 to no-hoper Execration.

And right now I have seen an interesting video for all of you guys it was on the Mighty Gaming Youtube Channel and it was from Demetrious Johnson himself it was his youtube channel and this is a 1 monthly ago video, and it was a training Video of Demetrious Johnson and Henry Cejudo and because each fighter have their individual fights Demetrious Johnson against Adriano Moraes and Henry Cejudo returning to the UFC to fight Aljamain Sterling, it was a great grappling video of the two, and Demetrius is really enhancing his grappling technique while training with Cejudo, well check it out yourself Demetrious Johnson trains with Henry Cejudo for their upcoming Title Fights!!!

It's been more than a year since I stopped following One FC. Although I am still updated on some of its fighters, especially DJ. For me, this fight is like 50/50 or maybe a slight edge on DJ since he has the momentum. So I am surprised by the odds at 1.49 on DJ.

The same with Cejudo being the slight favorite over Sterling. I never even thought that his fight with Sterling becomes serious since he's been trash-talking active fighters for years already. Cejudo may have a high IQ, experience, and skills but I still have doubts about his chances of winning. I doubt at 36 he is stronger than Sterling. But I want to be wrong on this one after Sterling posted online an apology form to his haters last year.  Cheesy Not that I personally hate him though, I just thought his Oscar level of acting made him the champion and the rematch was super close.
1439  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: April 30, 2023, 06:19:10 PM
This fight surely had it's share of drama.  Between Tank Davis claiming that people were trying to rub steroid cream on him in order to get him to fail a test, to Tank having a mole in Ryan Garcia's camp giving him information, to Ryan Garcia having an injury he suffered in training...  Not to mention the violence charge Davis was facing...  Then the bet for the purse...  Ryan Garcia wanting to be Tank Davis' friend afterwards...  This was one of the more unusual fights in recent memory.  It seemed to me that the drama surrounding the fight was bigger than the fight itself.

Controversies, trash-talking, and some other stuff can only hype and make the fight more popular and bigger. Ryan Garcia is a social media influencer and Tank Davis is PBC's biggest star so the drama made the event even bigger. Some of those are probably fake.

IIRC, this fight is the biggest non-title fight in boxing history after Mayweather vs McGregor. PPV buys were 1.2 to 1.4 million and live gate racked up $20 million. If the event grossed around $130 million, Tank could end up earning $20 to $40 million.
1440  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | July 25 on: April 30, 2023, 05:50:59 PM
So no surprised that he revealed a no rematch clause. And most likely believed in himself that he has the tools to beat the monster in his division. We all know that Inoue is the one moving up in weight so he is not tested at super bantamweight. And we have seen in boxing history that although you can be great in a division and dominate it, different story when you move up and facing a natural and bigger fighter than you.

Or maybe it could be the other way around. Maybe he believes that once he loses, he won't be able to win again, and his decision might be to move up in weight to try his journey in a new division. Both fighters are not champions, so honestly, I don't find it interesting to have a rematch. It will only delay Inoue's future successes if he has to fight the Fulton again in case he wins. If he can move up after winning a belt, then he is on his way to making history in boxing by winning as many championship fights in different divisions.

Inoue is the WBO mandatory so it would be hard for Fulton to demand a rematch clause. He can either oblige the mandate or vacate the WBO belt so Inoue can take it against the #2 rank. A rematch clause will also make the negotiation complicated as both Inoue and Fulton came from rival networks and promotions. Inoue just wants things straightforward and avoids the A-side, rehydration clause, catchweight, and other bs stuff the other fighters are doing.

I guess it is also more on the financial side which is why Fulton preferred this fight. The Fulton-Figueroa rematch at 126 is 50/50 and it is not even for the real belt, they will be fighting for the WBC interim version. He'll probably get paid around $1 million. Against Inoue, I heard from someone saying that he will get paid $3 million. Inoue is ranked #1 or #2 pound-for-pound and a Fulton victory means easy access to championship fights if he ever wants to move up in his next fight.
