I'm not sure if Miami will continue to try offering what they've got or like what you said, they will stay with Hero and try to develop
his skills for more competitive capabilities.

Future draft picks will be the biggest offering + Herro, it could be 5 or 6 but not sure if Heat is willing to give up that kind of huge players. So the only thing for us is to wait and see how everything will go down.

Pretty sure negotiations are ongoing and they are staying away from public exposure to avoid issues. IMO the Miami Heat should go all in on Lillard otherwise I have doubts about their ability to return to the finals or even in the eastern conference finals after giving up Max Strus and Gabe Vincent. They also let go of Victor Oladipo plus 2 future 2nd round draft picks to earn more cap space. The Miami Heat obviously lacked assets for direct trade with Portland, so they badly needed a team or even more to facilitate a Lillard trade.
1042  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 03, 2023, 05:50:14 PM
It's hard not to notice it because it's been shared to almost all social media platforms and sports outlet are getting busy again because of this issue that Nonito Donaire himself posted. It will be hard for him to digest it specially after the fact that it came from his own father whom he thought he had his 100 percent unwavering support but in reality, he hoped that his own son will be defeated in his campaign to be a champion once again and worse, will be KO'd against Santiago. That's just too unfortunate man!

Yeah, just unfortunate that these things happened to the Donaires. If my memory serves me right, this is the second time that they have this kind of trouble. The first, it was on the money thing where Rachel (Nonito Jr's wife) was involved but this time around i don't read any article on what causes the break-up.

What kind of father that wishes hard to his son, grudges must be so deep that he hoped Nonito Jr will be KOed by Santiago but i hope one day everything will be well for their family.

I guess it's all about the money and the involvement of Rachel, obviously, the younger Donaire chooses to follow Rachel and then step aside his father. And so with this kind of thing, someone will really gets hurt and most likely his father didn't like that and so up to now, even though he has grand kids with Nonito Jr, he still can't get over that he was bypass. He doesn't need to wish it though as Inoue has knockout his son already.

A friend already had an agreement with both Junior and Rachel to talk about it to clear things up but at the moment their busy schedules cannot meet. Of course, Senior will be interviewed as well later. It's a sensitive long story and we only hope they will reconcile once again for good.

It's hard to judge them since they both have their own sides of the story. But it all started when Junior married Rachel and the wife later took over the boxing career. She changed the team big time and fired Senior as the coach. It hurt Senior but there were also allegations about him mishandling Junior's hard-earned money. There were many times they reconciled and then relationships went sour again.

With regards to the prediction, we all knew Junior is not getting knocked out, I cannot remember him getting hurt in this division and down below. Except in the Inoue fight, of course, the guy is also a living legend. But Santiago is not a knockout artist and even Senior knew his prediction is too far off. So Junior could've laughed it off and made some fun of how bad his old dad is at making predictions. Senior had been calling many times for Junior to retire, including the Inoue rematch wherein he was worried about the health of his son.
1043  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - July 29 on: August 02, 2023, 01:40:55 PM

Maybe the outcome of Canelo vs Jermell Charlo fight is very important because if Jermell Charlo were to win, I'm sure Crawford would see it as a good opportunity to fight Jermell Charlo by moving up, as a win would make him more popular.

How about Crawford - Canelo both have a claim to be a crowd drawer and a pound-for-pound king, I don't think Canelo can impose his skill and power against Canelo the way Crawford devastated Spence if they cross their path I hope they do, Canelo will have a beating more than what he gets from his fight against Bivol.

Crawford is already 35 not many years left in his boxing career, so his promoters and handlers should think of fighting fighters in the pound-for-pound list that he can fight in a catch weight.

That is a 3 weight, 21 pound difference. I doubt Canelo is capable of going down much further than super middleweight. If Crawford moved up and beat Canelo he would undoubtedly be considered among the greatest fighters ever. The difference is just too much for that fight to be possible any time soon. We could still get an idea of what would happen if Crawford fights Charlo and then we can compare their performance against the same fighter.

Definitely, however, if Charlo were to lose to Canelo, I think the fight between Charlo and Crawford might not happen as Canelo would become the champion, and therefore, if Crawford wants to challenge for the title, he would have to face Canelo at 154 lbs. But, I guess we are speculating too much for now; let's see the outcome of Canelo vs Charlo first, and then we can speculate on whether Canelo vs Crawford will happen.

As for Crawford, he can choose not to fight this year; he can enjoy the remaining part of the year by having a vacation, especially considering that he just made history this year.

The Canelo-Charlo fight happens at 168 for the Mexican's undisputed title. I guess Canelo is still the biggest name in boxing so there is no point in dropping down in weight, especially at 154 which is zero percent chance of happening. Besides, Canelo was already a former unified champion at 154 and even at 160. So the only titles at stake are Canelo's belts.

I believe Jermell won't return to 154 after the Canelo fight. But in case he will and provided the sanctioning bodies won't strip him because he's got overdue mandatories already, he might not give Crawford a shot at being undisputed at 154. Jermell is a very close friend of Spence and he already mentioned before that he won't give Bud that shot. Jermell believes that Bud has to work his way up to 154's rankings to earn his shot. Money speaks though, so we'll see if Jermell is willing. Besides, Bud being undisputed can also request any of the 4 sanctioning bodies to make him mandatory.

With regards to a possible Canelo-Crawford megafight, I already saw interviews before about Bud saying he is not moving up to 168 or 175. The guy is honest, direct to the point and he is smart knowing his limits. Here's Bud's latest clip I saw last week being asked again about fighting Canelo;

1044  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A weird belief among some gamblers. on: August 02, 2023, 12:52:05 PM
Gambling is also a game of luck, so we cannot deny that there are a lot of gamblers that have their own beliefs and even have traditional superstitious beliefs. I don't mind them but I respect them. Not a big deal at all. I believe people that are bothered by these kinds of styles are new to gambling. We know there is no science behind those beliefs but let's just mind our own business because it won't harm us.

Personally, I do not have my own gambling beliefs. Since my college days, I always thought of buying a lottery ticket every birthday because I might get lucky. I haven't done it yet, not even once though.
1045  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Where to invest 7k usdt on: August 02, 2023, 12:31:36 PM
There is zero way wherein you can earn $30 daily out of your $7k capital. Unless you will turn yourself into a Ponzi scam that lures you by paying you that amount in the first days until they will run away once there are no new investors throwing money into the pyramid.

It would be better for you to invest it in bitcoin but since you are in the altcoin section, you are probably expecting to invest in altcoins. But why not diversify it by putting like 50% of that amount into bitcoin and the rest goes to Ethereum and some other potential altcoins? I have many altcoins in my list that I am yet to invest but one thing that is in my mind is Doge. If Doge returns to its ATH in the year 2025 or early 2026 then it should be around 900% growth already. But most of the time, top solid coins that exist for many years already will break ATHs every bitcoin 4-year cycle so it means Doge might grow over 900% soon.
1046  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Irresponsible behavior at the Las Vegas Casino on: August 02, 2023, 12:11:39 PM
So according to his family, he was drunk? It has nothing to do with the man being a gambler then. Is it not common to see in the news people doing something crazy either in the casino, in the park, building or it could be in any place? Drunk people have the tendency to do something irresponsible and being a gambler is not a pre-requisite.

Actually, most professional gamblers are not fond of getting drunk in a casino otherwise they cannot focus and will keep on losing money. I visited a popular and world-class casino twice and I seldom saw people drinking liquor heavily.
1047  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Teaching children Bitcoin is not in vain on: August 02, 2023, 11:48:56 AM
This is a common idea in poor and developing countries wherein it tries to act at every opportunity unintelligently. This is also happening in my country. So what about people being late to buy those penny stocks that are now worth a lot? We're also going to teach our 10-year-old kids about stocks early then. Founders of social media applications and platforms like Facebook, Youtube, and Google turned its young founders into billionaires. So we're also going to teach our young kids about apps, social media, and programming?

Again, this doesn't make any sense. 10 years old is not even part of the youth, that is still a very very young kid who's supposed to play, and study the basics of education while exploring and discovering its natural gifts and skills.
1048  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Borrow to Buy Bitcoin is Not Advisable.Consider the Factors Before Doing That. on: August 02, 2023, 10:55:49 AM
No, it's just too risky to borrow money in order to buy bitcoin. This is not advisable and it stays like that over time. Generally, when you are into investing especially in a very unpredictable market, you are not even supposed to use funds that are not part of your savings. And even savings funds should not be totally invested into just one basket like bitcoin, stocks, bonds, etc. A part of your savings is also intended as your emergency fund.

I know there are some people that break the general rule of investing. And I am tempted in doing so, I felt like I need more funds for the coming 2025 bull run. But I know very well the risks of doing so. Maybe a small amount that I can also afford to pay? Grin
1049  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title on: August 01, 2023, 03:20:38 PM

Casimero is just surrounded by unprofessional people some of them are ready to exploit and his lifestyle made it worse. Even after the Butler cancellation, it took nearly a year for Casimero to fight again. Whereas Tapales after becoming overweight in his supposed WBO 118 title defense, move up right away in his next fight which made Tete the interim champion elevated as the new WBO champion which he later lost to Casimero.

Meanwhile, Casimero should continue to stay active because once Inoue becomes undisputed, I believe he is the main target of the first undisputed title defense and there is no chance of saying no once that opportunity comes. If in case Tapales becomes undisputed, the more Casimero needs to stay active to force a mandatory shot probably via WBO since the IBF and WBA already had their mandatories waiting to be announced.
https://www.talkimg.com/images/2023/07/31/Qb7E9.png

I like the idea of Inoue staying in the division to defend his belts. Nery is banned from fighting in Japan due to his failed drug test and missing weight against Yamanaka. Inoue will have to either fight him in the US or fight Casimero instead. I think many Japanese people would like to see Inoue avenge their countryman, but there is also those who believe a dirty fighter like Nery doesn’t deserve another opportunity.

I have said this in my previous post that the plan of Team Inoue is to unify the super bantamweight division and defend the belts once against Nery or Casimero so if the former has a questionable reputation and banned from fighting on Japanese soil then this makes Casimero the probable opponent whenever Tapales lose this fight. It may also be a welcome sight for Japanese fight fans if indeed Casimero will be the challenger as they want Inoue to punish him as a vengeance to all the Japanese that Casimero defeated.

IMO, Casimero is the only fighter in this division who has a higher chance of defeating Inoue.

Nice catch @FinneysTrueVision. Thanks for the reminder. I almost forgot that Nery is banned in Japan. I actually didn't delve much into the issue but I wonder why the result was not changed. But it was sad seeing the long-time champion getting stopped, I remember Yamanaka even made it into the top 10 pound for pound in The Ring Magazine.

Provided Inoue unifies all the belts, I really believe that Casimero is the prime target even if Nery is not banned in Japan. Nery might not be that attractive after Brandon Figueroa demolished him. While Casimero hasn't tasted defeat for a long time. Also, Inoue and his team are well aware of Casimero's taunts and trash talks. Although I am hoping this fight to happen in the US instead of Inoue's home crowd.

@bisdak40, based on Casimero's previous fights in this division, Inoue will easily beat him in all aspects. But even though Casimero failed to stop his opponent in his last outing, he will train very hard if he is facing Inoue so I still believe that he carries that power in his punches which helped him become a 3-division champion.
1050  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - July 29 on: August 01, 2023, 02:17:42 PM

If ever they will bring this rematch into the table, if both camps will agree, maybe it will take place.

Who knows if Spence will perform well and clear that excuses and convert it to a success, though seeing the fight the
winning chance might be slim. The level of fighting greatness from Crawford is way high compared with Spence, it
might be concluded if ever we hear an update with any negotiation about possible rematch.

Promoters would still make money in the rematch, so if both camps want to make it happen, there should be no problem in terms of profitability.

Although it was very evident how dominant Crawford was in the first fight, the outcome was still very entertaining, so the fans would still watch it.

This could be like a Pacman vs Morales situation, where Pacman lost in the first fight but came back in the next two fights to dominate Morales. So, let's not be too conclusive here; anything could change as Spence could figure out his mistakes and improve himself in the rematch, if it's going to happen.

Definitely, the rematch will happen. Spence wants it and Bud had no problem with the rematch as he understands it due to their agreement. In the post-press conference, Spence mentioned making the rematch at 154 and Bud answered he is good with it. This was anticipated as well hence why I also mentioned it in the past hoping any of the 4 belts to strip Jermell Charlo due to his inactivity or his long overdue mandatories and then let Bud and Spence fight for a vacant belt at 154 in their rematch.

Although I am not buying that Spence was dehydrated last weekend, he will come in stronger and bigger at 154. But it is hard to imagine how Spence can win over Bud. Spence and his coach Jamal James fought a perfect strategy but only to find out that Bud is just too accurate, too heavy-handed, and he cannot get hurt easily from the head down to his body.
1051  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: are you still strong holding btc on: August 01, 2023, 01:45:45 PM
You're right OP and I am also in the same situation as you. Unless we are so confident in our analysis then we can sell out bitcoins and then hope that we can buy again at a cheaper price. What I did instead is just continue to add every month. The goal is not just 2024 but 2025 or even more if in case I don't need to cashout during that period. So even the current price right now is still cheap compared to the potential price of bitcoin after the halving year where ATHs are broken according to its previous price movements.
1052  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Regis Prograis vs Devin Haney on: August 01, 2023, 12:53:54 PM

My assessment, if the fist between Devin Haney vs. Regis Prograis is really happening next October, in my opinion Devin has made a good decision for choosing to challenge Regis I'm sure many Devin and Regis fans agree they showed who is the strongest of them both in the ring.

I often see Devin Haney in the ring, so he is called the king of lightweight boxing, almost all the belts he has, in terms of age, maybe they are both very different, 24 years and 34 years, but that was not an obstacle for both of them to show their best in the ring, overall their records were not much different from 30 and 29, by winning 15 and 24 knockouts. despite the different ages.

I personally fist between Devin vs. Regis and I predict this boxing will be won by Devin, I'm sure he will win the WBC title this time. no real reason for me, just looking at the situation and luck.

Unless Haney is heading to PBC wherein the easiest champion to beat in Rollie Romero (WBA) resides, Prograis(WBC) is the next easiest based on his previous poor performance. Matchroom and DAZN though are keen on getting Haney back into their side while I highly doubt PBC will allow someone to beat their champion who's been loyal to them for many years.

Money-wise and legacy-wise though, Top Rank's offer for Haney to face the lineal champion Teofimo Lopez (The Ring & WBO) is the best choice. Either Haney is mad at Bob Arum or he just wants to get rid of the biggest names of 135 and 140 like Lomachenko, Shakur, Teofimo, etc. who are all under Top Rank.

Somehow, I want Regis Prograis to land his heavy hands-on Haney and score an upset. This is better for boxing rather than young Haney who already ducked a Loma rematch, a mandatory from Shakur and Top Rank's best offer for him to face the lineal 140 champion Teofimo Lopez.
1053  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Anthony Joshua vs Dillian Whyte II on: August 01, 2023, 12:26:57 PM
So now that Jamal James' best fighter was badly outclassed and was battered from pillar to post, I am pretty sure it has some mental effects on Anthony Joshua who is battling the mental effects of his previous defeats. He might start to doubt James' game plan and effectiveness. Luckily for him, he is facing a fighter whom he had already beaten by stoppage and is known to fatigue in the late rounds. After Spence's failed aggressive strategy by getting countered a lot, I won't be surprised if AJ will stick to his boxing skills and will only become aggressive if Whyte is getting hurt or gassed out in the late rounds.
1054  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 01, 2023, 12:04:12 PM
Lakers is considered to be a dark horse as well, if I'm not mistaken, of course some of the core is back but still, a ageing Lebron and then injury prone AD? Still not sure how far the Lakers can go in this season.

No matter what happens to them in the Lakers this season, they have already done their job and won the championship because that's just all that it matters when you are with the Superteam trying to be a contender in the NBA league. It will be more amazing when they can get back to the NBA playoffs this season because they easily made a great run last season and also beat the defending champion easily. The worse thing they did was signed Westbrook despite having multiple stars that can help them with the championship again last season.

It was Bron's influence that brought Westbrook into LA right? Anyways, he did bring a ring already. Heading to the next season, the Lakers are becoming a better team IMO so they are pretty sure in the playoffs again if AD is healthy. Although I still doubt they will reach the conference finals. The west is getting more competitive with the Phoenix Suns adding a 4th big star in Bradley Beal and of course, Denver after the championship experience will have more confidence than ever.

The team that I felt disappointed is Dallas. That team will be doomed since the arrival of Kyrie Irving. A good player but toxic, and injury prone and I just don't think his style is a good fit for Luka.
1055  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Beterbiev Vs Smith AUG 19 2023 SATURDAY IBF / WBC / WBO LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT Title on: July 31, 2023, 12:53:12 PM
Bad news! Champion is once again injured. This is really the disadvantage of an old athlete competing in the hurt business. He is currently the oldest world champion if I am not mistaken. Maybe Callum can pull a huge upset if he is able to catch Beterbiev first.

If Beterbiev beats Callum, he better strongly demands a Bivol fight next or he should move up in weight for a chance to become a 2-division world champion if he wants to enter the Hall of Fame. Too bad, the guy that beat, knocked down, hurt, and had a hotly contested trilogy in the amateurs against the legendary Oleksandr Usyk is not entering the Hall of Fame.
1056  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title on: July 31, 2023, 12:30:11 PM

If only Casimero has been more early on the division and gave up his career at 118 because his weight cannot do it anymore, he could've been a champion by now or else already on his way to fight for a championship. But since he was a bit late, Marlon Tapales was the one who waved the Filipino's flag and defeated the former unified champion, Murodjon Akhmadaliev.

Well, that's just one of the rare chances for Inoue to fight these boxers that are not stronger compared to him because since he has not had the two belts in him, there's no other chance to fight him other than bet some belts against him because he is now a celebrity fighter and to fight him will gonna have a huge prize for his opponent even if they lose the fight against him. Since Casimero has nothing to offer but a good fight, Inoue's camp will ignore him because they just don't simply take the risk and put their fighter in some worse-case situations with a potential fighter to beat him.

1057  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 31, 2023, 11:44:51 AM
Well, it's a slippery slope. Ideally nobody should be forced to play in a team or city that they don't want but they have huge contracts knowing that there will be consequences if not met. If he was a free agent he would have every right to reject teams but he's still under a contract and that contains any trades as well. He has to perform %100 even if he goes to other teams than Heat. But I guess we all know how it will end up. Dame will get away with a fine and play for the Heat this season.
That I forgot. Yes, he is still under contract so it's like telling the Portland Trail Blazers management to do something and make it happen that he will end up with the Heat. But I think the Trail Blazers won't be doing it if the offer is not right. The Heat doesn't have enough cards to trade with them in my opinion. They are actually undermanned with so many players injured, including Viktor Oladipo and Tyler Herro.
Well, there's always the buyout option if ever he is traded somewhere else and won't like to play, that's if the other end of the line is just trying to open up some space.

The Miami Heat is indeed in a difficult situation to offer something meaningful to Portland Trail Blazers. They did some movements to free some space. Actually, Oladipo was also traded and it is even accompanied with 2 2nd round future draft picks to make sure Miami Heat gets a trade exception worth $9 million. Earlier Miami did not match and let go of Gabe Vincent and Max Strus. I began to wonder if Miami matched the other teams' offers for Strus and Vincent, maybe Portland is willing to make the Lillard deal. But then again, I am not questioning the capabilities of Pat and Spo.

Regarding the Lillard situation, I am starting to better understand NBA's stand. Lillard still has a live contract and he is expected to perform 100% not just inside the court but off the court as well probably being an ambassador promoting the Trail Blazers' brand in getting better deals that is beneficial to the team. So Lillard can honestly tell the management his preferred next team which is Miami but he cannot say that he will refuse to play in any other teams. That's like threatening and putting his team at a disadvantage in making better deals.
1058  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if salaries were paid in BTC on: July 30, 2023, 02:35:12 PM
Salaries to be paid in bitcoin? Obviously, if this happens in many companies around the world then it is a big positive news on bitcoin and its believers. But then once again, how willing are these companies and how will the governments react knowing bitcoin is only considered a legal currency in only 2 countries? But in the future, if many countries will adopt bitcoin as a legal currency then I am confident that there will be many companies that will consider paying their employees with BTC. Consider me one of those people that are willing to accept bitcoin for my services.
1059  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 30, 2023, 02:15:19 PM
I am a big fan of Damian Lillard but I agree with James Harden saying he understands that each team, especially his current team would as much as possible look for the best deals. I would love to see Dame land in Miami but the NBA management makes sense. If players are allowed to talk a lot and make threats on deals in public, it would make fans believe that smaller teams and less attractive cities are really at a big disadvantage.

Anyways, I cannot wait for both Lillard and Harden to get transferred to other teams so we can have clearer views of the teams for the coming season. I smell doom on Miami if they cannot get Lillard as it did not match and traded some of its players in order to create space. Philly might be also in the same situation too if it cannot acquire reliable players as Harden's replacement.

This will hurt their chemistry so badly but the good part is PG13, Westbrook, and Harden have been teammates before so it almost balances the big change if ever they get Harden.

I think that's what's going to happen with Miami though, but at least they could still have Butler and Bam if the trade for Lillard materialized. And some of their role players have left as well for more lucrative contract so obviously they are in rebuilding phase and a Dame addition will be great for them.

So same case with Clippers, money wise, if they get Harden, most of there bench like you mentioned, will be depleted. So it's hard for management for decide in how they are going to balance their teams if ever they get Harden to Clippers and Lillard to Miami Heat.

The Miami Heat retained Butler and Adebayo as its core and wanted to build around them except if they can successfully attain Damian Lillard which could create a trio of superstars. I strongly believe that Pat Riley and coach Spo won't agree for the team to go into a rebuilding phase if they cannot get Lillard. If the management decides to rebuild the team then I am pretty sure Butler and even Adebayo will leave or request for trades. Butler is in his 30s already and he might not want to waste his remaining years in a rebuilding team.

The Clippers are in an odd situation. I am not even sure if Kawhi and PG13 are big assets anymore. Maybe PG13 still carries a good value but I am doubtful about Kawhi Leonard. Imagine if they get Harden and still retain Kawhi and PG13 but both of them can only play several games in a season? It is no different when Harden landed in Brooklyn with 2 big superstars yet we seldom saw them playing together due to injuries and other issues on Kyrie.

Well said, mate. This topic made me realize that I am somewhat occupied by some family problems which are stressful and at times consume my mind instead of focusing on the opportunities and accomplishing my goals in life. And it is not easy to escape them especially when you're living together. Right now, I am saving as much as possible so I can invest and then start another business sooner than later.

When it comes to spending, saving, and liabilities, I am very well aware of them. I do not spend over my means nor do I save money in order to buy something unnecessary.
