This is how dominant the Denver Nuggets can be when they are focused. Even if they are an underrated team, they can also be a championship team.
The Phoenix Suns may have been shocked at the turn of events in the 2nd quarter. I didn't expect it too. It's not just about Jokic, everyone was contributing whenever they are given the minutes and I think they will be a better team than the Suns if they bench keeps this consistency.
Tomorrow, we will find out who the Season MVP will be. I am betting it will be Jokic for the third time.

The first game is still behind and I'm not sure if the Denver Nuggets will dominate this series, the Suns are also a pretty good team. I think we can watch one of the best series of this year. In the first match, they won the match thanks to the difference in points in the second quarter. Jokic's performance was not perfect, but they still won the match, so they can have an advantage in the upcoming matches. I wouldn't be surprised if he becomes MVP, he's a good enough player to champion a team on his own Smiley

Phoenix Suns and Denver Nuggets are like the western conference finals to me. Phoenix has a good bench as well but their main advantage is the experience. KD has been in the finals many times and Booker, CP3, and the team have been in many playoffs including finals. This really matters when it comes to close games in the final minutes and when the series becomes close later or when they're behind and need to continue focusing to win the remaining games.

Overall, Denver has the best line-up from starting 5 to the bench but Jokic, Murray and most of them have limited experience. Hopefully, they won't tilt during clutch situations. I'm cheering for Denver this season to win the finals. And yes, Jokic should get another MVP this season over Embiid and maybe over Giannis too.

Finally, I bumped into this thread again after I started to random my posts in different threads in the last weeks. I feel bad for SEA nowadays. They turned worse. Maybe the 3 slots should be given to other regions like SA or CIS.

SA is the same in SEA. I think WEU is worthy to have more slots because they have most of the team that is dominating the Dota2 scene. The competition on that region is very tough that is why they developed a very strong gameplay which other region can’t beat during majors tournament. SEA is indeed a thrash since the quality of Dota is already decreased because we can’t use the meta properly.

Yeah, maybe more slots for WEU. But how about Team Secret relocating to SEA? Grin I bet teams like Team Secret, Nigma, etc. can dominate the region.

Meanwhile, in group A, BetBoom coming from the top 4  is now down in a 3-team tiebreaker series after losing the second map against PSG. The same with Group B, beastcoast is also waiting for its own tiebreakers. Talon and Extreme are still holding their last chances in their second games. Talon seems winning and might secure playoffs spot but I am not counting out Team Spirit yet, especially in this new patch.

Since when did China become willing to adopt and regulate bitcoin? Hongkong although it is generally under communist China rule has its own government as well and is a huge financial hub. Hongkong needs to blend with the latest technology if it wants to continue being competitive on the world stage. Taiwan on the other hand is a very rich industrial country like Japan known for its advanced technology. Bitcoin as one of the best technological innovations in the last decades earned its place to be accepted and regulated, especially in modern countries and states like Taiwan and Hongkong.
1445  Economy / Economics / Re: Food Crisis - Improved, Worsen or still the same in your country (No Change)? on: April 29, 2023, 01:52:39 PM
Generally, food in my place is back although not really the exact normal before the pandemic. I live in a metro city and so far basic needs are available. There are goods though that are expensive like meat. Some goods with ingredients imported like those that usually come from Ukraine and Russia are also pricey.

The main problem in my country however is it is controlled by the oligarchs. Meat became scarce during the pandemic and was expensive. After a few years, the price should be back to normal but the companies that provide the feeds were also quick to increase their prices massively reason why the price remains high.
1446  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: April 29, 2023, 01:27:16 PM
...And with that win, I shoot up Tank to be my #1 p4p list, followed by Naoya Inoue.

How about everyone? What do you think of Tank's performance here, are you with me ranking him the top p4p boxer right now?
Jeez, mate! You need to relax and take a breath. You just got carried away by the popularity of Tank and Garcia. Tank just beat another undefeated prospect. Only that it is more popular than his previous cherry-picked opponents. Garcia is not a world champion. Tommy Fury beating popular Jake Paul doesn't mean he is on the same level as champions Opetaia, Okolie, etc.

Tank's never been in The Ring's and Transnational Boxing Rankings Board's top 10 pound-for-pound. And his win against another undefeated yet unproven and non-champion Ryan Garcia won't merit an entrance to the top 10 let alone at rank 1.

No, I'm not, that's how I see it though, but at least let Tank be in the top 10 now. I just check Ring's list of p4p and I saw Juan Francisco Estrada at number 10. Nevertheless, might be the start for Tank to really up his opposition, maybe he should really fight the winner of Loma vs Haney.

Barring boxing politics and network affiliation, this could easily be made. Although Tank was asked this question if I'm not mistaken, but he didn't answer it directly. While Haney said he is willing to fight Tank next. Let's see how it goes, as I have said, this performance will at least break him in the top 10, IMHO. Josh Taylor is number 9 when he has a very close fight with Jack Catterall and almost lost that fight.

I cannot really imagine how Tank can enter the top 10. His resume is just too weak that he is not even worth mentioning in the top 15. Tank is only a 1 division champion, that's it. And he was not the lineal champ when he became a champ at 130. He's never been in a unification fight. His best win was over former champ Jose Pedraza where Tank took the IBF belt. The best name in his resume was Yuriorkis Gamboa but that was not the quality version of Gamboa. Or maybe Leo Santa Cruz, a 4 division champion. LSC though despite being a 4 division champion will never be mentioned among the greats since he was a product of politics and corruption. Probably the only fighter that was given the privilege to fight for the vacant belt in 4 divisions.

{..snip..}

Although recently, Tank is not listed by Ring as number 10 now. Maybe they just updated it to include Tank and removed Juan Francisco Estrada, and this is the first time that Tank is making it on the top 10.

Maybe he will start to climb in the ranks now, depending on who he is going to face next. I know that p4p list is very dubious and it's very different across, SI lists include David Benavidez, Shakur Stevenson and Devin Haney. So we can argue that those should not be in the list as well, specially David Benavidez. So I guess the organization that released their list could have some reasoning behind them.

SI, ESPN, Boxrec, Boxingscene, etc. are just garbage rankings. The pound-for-pound and lineal champions should come from an organization without politics and affiliations which is why The Ring was called the bible of boxing and which is why the TBRB should now be considered the most credible. Maybe only hardcore fans will get this.

You haven't seen the career of El Gallo then mate. Tank is nowhere near the achievements of that Mexican. If pound for pound is based on popularity then Tommy Fury, Jake Paul, Edgar Berlanga, etc. are in the top 10. But what is it with Ryan Garcia that its conqueror all of a sudden deserves a top 10 ranking?
1447  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: April 29, 2023, 12:58:19 PM
The biggest issue in boxing nowadays is corruption. It is obvious that it is not easy to make fights between rival networks and promotions. But it should've been doable at times if only these sanctioning bodies are capable of strictly enforcing their rules.

If a mandatory is announced which includes a deadline, the sanctioning body should issue a purse bid if no agreement within the deadline. If the champion is not interested then he should be stripped of his belt and let ranked #1 and #2 make a deal and pursue a bid if necessary. It is that simple. However, these sanctioning bodies especially the WBA and WBC are too money-oriented which is why they do not want to pressure these big networks, powerful promoters, and boxing stars. The IBF is probably the most reliable although currently, it seems like it is also heading into the WBA and WBC direction.
1448  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Coins.ph Official Thread on: April 29, 2023, 12:25:24 PM
As others suggested, Binance and Bybit P2P are two of the best options for now.

Or with the advent of e-wallets like Gcash and Paymaya, we have more options and might sway away from Cebuana or M Lhuillier (as far as I my experience, if you are going to be cashing out big amounts like 20k and up, you have to notify them early so that they can prepare the money).

As an Americano I can't use Binance for that purpose although I have seen the P2P to Gcash work pretty well. I have both Gcash and PayMaya, am waiting from to enable crypto deposits and trading. Someone I know here got early access to Gcash crypto and it appears to work pretty well. It seems like Gcash is limited on remittance partners tho.

Luckily Coins.ph fixed the problem and the solution is to wait 12 hours before receiving an email from Dragonpay, then I need to tell the cashier the payment is from Dragonpay. That worked the last couple times I did it. Kind of annoying but at least it works. Still can't transfer funds to other wallets, however.

Too bad, Binance P2P is really the best nowadays when cashing out in Ph. Quick, safe, and cheap/free. Are you married to a local? If yes, then you can use her name to create a Binance account. And if you want to secure your funds alone, then you can fund and use it only during cashouts.

I'm also curious as to why you need to visit a remittance center just to withdraw funds. IIRC, foreigners can open bank accounts and acquire ATM cards. That would be easier for you to withdraw anytime 24/7 with just a maintaining balance of Php 100 to Php1,000.

Execretion is terrible so far, so betting against them seems profitable as well.

they will be playing against TSM tomorrow. Im not sure, both are terrible imo and I might just go for draw on this one.
Well, BetBoom managed to stay unbeaten so they continue inside the top 4. Execration seems to have acclimatized after a very bad day 1 and day 2. They had a draw with TSM yesterday and they won game 1 against BetBoom. BetBoom is in danger of the upper bracket if they cannot get a draw here. And Execration is now a hopeless team so they should just give it all now without pressure.

1450  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: April 29, 2023, 11:12:55 AM
The matchup of Knicks vs Heat and Sixers vs Celtics is quite close two teams as well, surely if teams were switched and Knicks or Heat played Celtics or Sixers, I would say that Celtics and Sixers would have beaten the other two team, but now that that they are facing each other, it is not going to be easy at all, and that is a tough situation to be in. I hope that they will do a lot better, I hope that they can make it work as well as possible and my favourites right now is Celtics and Heat.

Celtics because they have been playing very well both all season long and during Hawks series as well, whereas Heat also beat Bucks so it could be great too. Depends a bit on injuries as well, if all is healthy, that is my prediction, Heat vs Celtics final for the eastern conference for sure.

Indeed, the eastern semi-finals have an odd pairing. The favorites to win the conference Boston and Philly are matched early while both Miami and NYC are the underdogs. Although it is hard to count out Miami Heat since they have too much experience in deep playoffs and has been upsetting higher seeds thru the years even with just a single superstar in the team. The Heat though is ravaged with injuries, even Jimmy Butler has an injury, hopefully, it won't get worse at least during the entire playoffs.

In the west, I consider Denver and Phoenix as the top dogs as well yet they need to face each other in the semi-finals. I really want to see Denver and Jokic win the championships this season.

Trading meme stocks and cryptocurrencies are too risky, especially in big amounts and money that you don't own. Someone mentioned that it is already gambling, well I guess there is a higher chance to win in gambling than hitting the jackpot thru meme coins and stocks.

By the way, embezzling $5 million and only getting 3 years of imprisonment? That's not bad. Maybe the guy should just hide the money or buy bitcoin and send it to a hard wallet and he'll be rich after his term in prison. I am sure that there are a lot of people willing to go to prison for 3 years for $5 million. Cheesy
1452  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: April 28, 2023, 08:59:03 PM
NBA deputy commissioner Mark Tatum said "it's only a matter of time" before a homegrown Filipino player makes it to the NBA.

Don't get me wrong but it just creating false hopes for PH aspirants honestly.

Just imagine, there are lots of good players in College basketball in the US like ACCA, NAIA, NCAA, USCAA, etc. that still can't make it to the draft list or worst, end up being undrafted even listed on the draft list. And at some cases, will be granted to play at NBA but only for a few days contract and later on, will be sent to G-league.

Not having a "talangka" mindset but that's the reality for a pure-blooded PH player who wants to enter the NBA. A player really has to be a phenomenon, at least, to at least even recognized at the draft selection even just hope that there's a chance to be selected at the last rounds.

But what will an NBA official says when ask about it? That might be the safest answer as they do not want to offend the fans. As a matter of fact, I also read nearly the same line more than 10 years ago when another NBA official was asked. I also became more realistic when I studied drafts and potentials many years ago after Japeth Aguilar was sent to the US to continue his studies while at the same time developing his skills. There are many amateur leagues in the US, hundreds to thousands of schools, and there are also foreign pro leagues and schools in Europe, Africa, and other parts of the world. So it's like when you are not in the starting first 5 in your school, NBA teams scouts won't see value in you. In many pro leagues, not only that you need to become a starting 5 but you need to dominate and be a star for a chance to enter the NBA. Next time, maybe sponsors and well-to-do families should send abroad local hopefuls from PG and SG positions where local players sometimes excel during international tournaments.
1453  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: April 28, 2023, 03:43:41 PM
Congratulations to Errol Spence, he is now inactive for a year. Maybe it is best for boxing if he stays inactive for a while. If there is no Thurman or Crawford as his next opponent, he should be stripped of his WBC. I doubt he will face Jaron Ennis after a year of inactivity, so hopefully, the IBF belt will strip him too. The WBA also has a regular champ in Stanionis which is enough to warrant as a mandatory but corrupt Mendoza is buying Spence some time and mandates a fight against Vergil Ortiz. I really hate seeing Ortiz and Stanionis fighting each other at this early stage of their careers. Maybe Ortiz should pursue the WBO belt. I want to see Ortiz, Stanionis, and Ennis become champions and then face each other in unification bouts.

Without politics and network affiliations, Tank still can't enter the top 15 or maybe the top 20 as well since those Japanese multi-division and unified champs in lower divisions have more achievements and there's also Shakur and Haney. El Gallo has had a lot of big wins over the years to his credit and his defeats were close, against the very best, and were avenged. He is even rated #6 by TBRB. Josh Taylor had an off night against Catterall but that doesn't change the fact that he became undisputed. And Taylor did not take all the belts in only 1 or 2 fights just like Haney who was only elevated as the WBC champion and only unified it once to Kambosos. So Tank really needs to mix it up with the top dogs in the division instead of picking the top most talkative ones. He's campaigning at 135 for years now yet he never even tried to fight for the belt. It would've been easier to arrange a title fight before when they were not fully unified. Now, all the belts are in Haney's hands.

I am not sure if The Ring really worked independently nowadays but it is supposed to be independent, free from conflict of interest and bias. There are doubts after Golden Boy Promotions purchased it, even if there was a promise that it will operate just as in the old days. The acquisition though led to the creation of the Transnational Boxing Rankings Board. And I also consider TBRB as the most reliable, although they only recognize lineal champs in divisions and do not award belts like The Ring.
1455  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I am only trying to stay safe by gambling less on: April 25, 2023, 01:33:01 PM
Generally speaking, there are similarities between gambling and investing because they both involve risks. But if we are to go deeper and be specific, there are big differences. Even trading and investing are not completely the same. Gambling is a form of entertainment while playing and betting. In sports betting, we have a good chance of winning as well if we know really well the sports which are also comparable to making research when we invest money into an asset like crypto. In trading, we have the charts and various indicators to use as our basis and of course, research is still needed to make sure the asset we are trading is healthy and reliable.
1456  Economy / Economics / Re: marry rich: marry fiat rich or crypto rich, which is better? on: April 25, 2023, 01:11:02 PM
What is wrong with you mate? You seemed not educated the right way. Married for me is all about happiness mate and money is not everything. I would rather stay single forever for as long as I am happy and free to roam anywhere. We were not born to impress our parents, friends, and the media. Who cares about them, I live my life my way.

Crypto and fiat can co-exist although I would prefer the former if I only have to choose 1. So I also prefer a woman that is into crypto or at least not against it. I don't care if she's rich or not because it is all about compatibility and love that will make relationships long-lasting.
1457  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Politicians behind the development of gambling platform on: April 25, 2023, 12:49:44 PM
I think responsible people should run for leadership of country. Its not exactly about owning gambling businesses. Obviously I googled to know what this e-sabong thing is. It is cockfighting game which is really terrible for animals. I think the thing that should be outlawed is animal fights. Regular gambling does not hurt any living being. I would never trust such kind of guy, establishing very inhumane way of generation money through gambling, looking for political power through money he made etc. I hope he won't get voted we don't need that type of people around.

Online sabong or online cockfighting is already illegal in the Philippines IIRC but our country is probably one of the most corrupt in the world. So illegalities continue to run here when you have the power, money, and connections from various officials to cover and protect your illegal business.

Many of these dirty government officials won because they spent a lot of money on assistance during the COVID-19 pandemic where a lot of people suffered financially and had difficulty accessing food and other basic needs.

I thought Curtis Blaydes could defend Sergei Pavlovich's hits and pull him into deep water, but I was completely wrong. As soon as the match started, I immediately realized how wrong I had been. Sergey Pavlovich swings such punches that they're all so strong and fast for heavyweight opponents that it's hard to see those fast punches. What will happen now? Does he need to play one more match before the belt match? Heavyweight complicated up Ngannou, Jones now Sergei is a total devil triangle.

I really have the feeling that Pavlovich was understated and will impose his skills in order to land his power shots on Blaydes. But knowing Blades and his experiences against top UFC fighters, I was still confident that he's got enough and will come out stronger against Pavlovich. Pavlovich is just so heavy-handed that his jabs are enough to hurt Blaydes which affected its focus and set up for more damaging blows to land.

I doubt Ngannou going back to the UFC anytime soon. It's Jones and old Miocic for the heavyweight title next. 1 or 2 more fights for Pavlovich and he gets a title shot. I still want to see more of Jones at heavyweight. I felt like Gane was just rattled facing the GOAT that leads to his defeat.
1459  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: April 25, 2023, 06:43:47 AM
As for Tank Davis. I wonder if he is now ready to fight for a title. He should stop cherry-picking his opponents because I would love to see him vie for a title for a chance to become a 2 division world champion. His mindset of being the face of boxing though might be an indication that he will continue to cherry-pick his next opponents.
I already assume that few weeks after this fight, after we know the winner of Lomachenko vs Haney fight, there will be a hype that will surface soon, and people will start calling for Gervonta Davis to fight the current undisputed champion next because that is indeed the right thing to do. People are already tired seeing Davis fighting a less risky opponent as that's what he did in the past or what Mayweather did. But since he is now not with Mayweather, I guess there will be no issue for that fight to happen.

I'm pretty sure that there are many hardcore boxing fans tired of Tank cherry-picking his opponents over the years. Despite that, he is well-marketed by PBC and Showtime. And he is the biggest star of PBC and Showtime after Wilder's losses to Fury. Floyd Mayweather was the biggest superstar during his days and today his fans and supporters are in Tank's hype train. This also indicates that Showtime/PBC is nowhere near the level of DAZN/Matchroom when it comes to superstars of the sport and the talent flooded ESPN/Top Rank.

That being said, there is a big chance that Tank will become a champion. Haney is expected to beat Lomachenko and then will move up in weight which will vacate all 4 belts. Haney was already struggling since the rematch with Kambosos in making weight and I doubt he can hold for long. Tank has the regular WBA belt which means he will be elevated as WBA champion if Haney moves up in weight.

...And with that win, I shoot up Tank to be my #1 p4p list, followed by Naoya Inoue.

How about everyone? What do you think of Tank's performance here, are you with me ranking him the top p4p boxer right now?

...Without Inoue in the same division, he is surely the right boxer who should own it now but I'm just quite confused because they should've made an announcement this month regarding the details and the date of the fight.

You are right. I just realized that this fight still has no exact date and venue until now. I believe both Donaire and Santiago are now in their final few weeks of preparations. They were expected to have started their training camps in early March or even late February so this fight badly needs a venue and a May date ASAP.

I believe the issue here is Richard Schaefer's involvement with the Kinahans, a global Irish syndicate. Probellum already decided to shut operations earlier but later Schaefer was named as president of Anthem Sports which is expected to become the new promoter of Donaire. But there is also the tendency that Anthem Sports is having difficulty dealing with sponsors, venues, and television networks just like Bob Arum earlier shutting down the chances of working with Schaefer.
