1021  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: As a gambler do you have a potential winning amount limit? on: August 07, 2023, 07:40:21 AM
I believe that gambling is for fun. Even though I am mostly into sports betting only these days, I am still having more fun and thrill watching games that I have a bet. I do have my own minimum limits for winning, but not that high. And my betting budget always corresponds to my regular earnings and it is not even based on my overall assets so it won't hurt if I lose.

Don't believe in people posting on social media and making stories about earning regularly on gambling. If someone earns regularly in gambling then it must be on poker.
1022  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Day trading is perfect work for jobless peoples on: August 07, 2023, 07:00:32 AM
Funniest thread I read today. I am not laughing at jobless people because officially I am jobless as well. But the point of the thread is wrong and it is actually the opposite. Jobless or people not generating income regularly should never do day trading. Trading is easier said than done after seeing people earning a lot of it. And day trading is even more difficult compared to the other type of traders out there.

This is why I firmly believe that financial management should be mandatory in all courses and even companies and government offices should have a yearly financial management training.
1023  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: Axie Infinity Philippine Thread on: August 07, 2023, 06:03:00 AM
Hmm.

Wala nako balak laruin to at mas excited nako sa ibang NFT games. Sana meron mala-DOTA or ML.
1024  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 07, 2023, 05:59:59 AM
All the Lakers need this year is to be safe and get a number 6th playoff spot, and then they could maximize the usage of AD by being dominant in the playoffs. They cannot be in the play-in tournament again, because it adds more strain to the fragile AD. It's still best to get a safe spot so they could rest for a bit while preparing for the intense playoffs.
Oh yeah, you are right, let's not also forget, despite being in the play-in last season, they still managed to be in the Conference Finals, so I guess that's one good reason why they are giving AD that huge contract. It's just that, Jokic is in his damn best condition and can even shoot from far away with AD on his face, that's why they lose.
Why just number 6 when they can get a higher with their new players, and it seems like they're better right now than last season.

Even though AD played really well last season, whether you're an NBA Fan, or a Laker fan, you can't remove the fact that when he's playing, there's always a chance that he might get injured. I mean his past injuries created a stigma towards the Laker fans that they always think that he might get injured. I might be wrong of course, but nevertheless, AD is a big piece towards their success last season, and in the playoffs though they just got swept by the Nuggets. Anyway, with regards to the match-up between AD, and Jokic, I don't see AD defeating him in all stats. Maybe in rebounds, but in overall performance, Jokic has the upper hand over him.

AD's a dominant player, and an all-star as well. Now he is starting to regain his confidence after those injuries in the last 2-3 years. I just hope that he will continue to play like what he was last season, and prevent himself from getting injured because he's a big part of the team's success.

It's still better when positioned way higher than #6 if possible. The Lakers will have a tough decision on AD and even on Lebron who's already old. I guess they will have to put them on the court and limit their playing time to avoid injuries. The Lakers went into reinforced mode in the second half of the last season and I am seeing an even better version of line-ups so if given the momentum they can really play even in the top 4 for the chance to have the home-court advantage.

This is a very exciting season, especially in the West. I can't wait to see if Denver after becoming champions will become a better and more confident team and the Phoenix Suns with Bradley Beal. Also, regarding the betting odds, I am feeling it will be Denver or Phoenix as the favorites this time.
1025  Economy / Speculation / Re: Should we rely on prediction? on: August 07, 2023, 05:39:10 AM
well for me? i use prediction as one tools for my decisioning but that doesnt mean that everything in predicting will be on because there are also coming from my own research and sighting each projet.
though in bitcoin? yeah I completely trust and i need nothing to explore more.

Exactly mate. I actually do not get the point of OP. It's said we need to be in reality. Lol! We are already in reality. And predictions are very important unless we are not interested in investing even outside of crypto.

We cannot just invest without our own predictions or other predictions that we felt confident of becoming a reality. We invest because we believe in a prediction. How dumb it would be to invest without a future outlook that it would grow over time. The stock market and other trading platforms won't exist if nobody is making predictions. Even in our ordinary lives, we have our own predictions like how we took our college courses because we believe it is beneficial to us in the future.
1026  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 07, 2023, 05:07:25 AM
...
Also, the PPV numbers, could it generate more than the recent Spence vs Crawford fight?
No way mate! Let's bet. Cheesy Many casuals already understood that their idol Jake Paul is not that special after losing his first fight against a real boxer. Although they have no idea that Tommy Fury is not even a top 20, very raw and clumsy so some might believe Paul's statement that he improved and that he is a real prospect to become a world champion. So maybe this can reach 500k PPV buys.

The undercard is not that exciting either, it's a mismatch. Amanda Serrano clearly beat Heather Hardy years ago so at 41 she will lose worse than their first match. My PPV buys prediction in this event is 300k and I'm already generous with it as this could be much lower.

I would have to agree that this fight is not even getting close to the numbers that Spence and Crawford did. It is the second biggest fight of the year, it's a professional fight. As compare to Nate Diaz vs Jake Paul who is purely for entertainment as this is just a exhibition match and most likely they are just here for the money.

And if might not end good for Diaz, going to be competitive in the first 3 rounds. But after that, Paul's will take over as per his experience in boxing. Maybe less than 500k PPV buys for me.

Yup, there are no high expectations about this event specially about their figures that somehow it will be comparable because majority of the people knew that the results are already clear enough even before the bell rang and as expected, it did happened where Nate was defeated and Jake Paul won and it is not that surprising anymore because Jake Paul can only defeat MMA fighters who are transitioning to the sports of boxing.
Next up is their rematch inside the cage and I seriously hope it will happen just like what was said days prior.

I didn't watch the fight. Pretty sure I had more fun yesterday watching Gerard Butler's action movie, Kandahar. The fight is nothing special, it's only good for the casuals who haven't seen or heard the real fights like Crawford and Inoue earlier. The undercard would've been a good show if only they picked a better live opponent. Jake Paul tried hard entering the arena riding a tank. Cheesy

But I'm just glad Nate is finally getting his well-deserved pay. I heard he is about to get paid $10 million for that event. I wish he just choke Shake Paul until he gets unconscious but I knew it won't happen as he might not get his purse. As for the rematch in MMA, I highly doubt it. It's only marketing in order to draw interest to people that there is a rematch under MMA rules. No way Paul is going to do it against an MMA legend. Maybe Paul is willing 5 years from now, at that time Nate is too inactive and old.
1027  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Regis Prograis vs Devin Haney on: August 07, 2023, 04:47:18 AM
Weird. We have more votes for the defending champion Regis Prograis rather than the undisputed champion Devin Haney. Do you guys want to see Devin Haney lose or do you just believe that Regis lands his powerful punches?

I am bored with Haney's fighting style and he is supposed to lose against Loma. Now he is avoiding a Loma rematch, avoided his mandatory on Shakur, and avoided the real lineal champ at 140, Teofimo Lopez.

Regis had a bad night in his last fight and if he performs the same way again, Haney will have an easy time outboxing him. Still, I believe Regis knows he needs to perform better this time. I won't be surprised if he hits Haney with his signature awkward but powerful punches, this is the only way to beat Haney. If he cannot hurt Haney then he will lose his belt.

1030  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you rather start/grow a business from scratch or buy an existing business? on: August 05, 2023, 07:13:06 PM
But X is the only business that Elon bought right? Elon built many projects before that were successful.

Given that capital is not a problem, both are good depending on the situation and type of business that you want. It will be a combination of both as I want my businesses diversified.

I am also planning to have my own business probably by 2026 which is after the bull run, so it's cool to read some useful insights here. I have no problem starting from scratch or buying an existing business like paying for a franchise.
1031  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What's the best Altcoin for this moment to accumulate right now? on: August 05, 2023, 05:10:33 PM
There are many coins at the top that are really good to accumulate. Those top 10 or even top 20 coins are mostly likely to break their ATHs .

For now, I have a long list of coins that I am planning to buy. Maybe I cannot accumulate all of them but at least I already have my own preferred altcoins to invest.

Ethereum
BNB
Syscoin
Gala

I am planning to accumulate more of these projects. I am not a fan of meme coins so I stay away from them except Dogecoin and maybe Shiba as well. Dogecoin is also one of the coins that I am looking to buy at $0.070.
Indeed, there are many good from 1-10 or 1-100 in cmc, but indeed we have to choose carefully because we don't know what will happen to them in the future, we also have to really monitor the project developer that we are going to buy, because it could be like Luna and FTX, we must have thoroughness in the ecosystem and its development financial management.
For Ethereum, BNB and Gala I understand the potential of these projects, but I just found out that Syscoin is the coin you are going to buy, may I know what is the reason that made you interested in buying Syscoin, this coin is not very popular yet, and there is no in the top 10/20 on cmc, can you give me a reason.

Indeed, we need to be extra careful in choosing which project to invest in. As you mentioned about FTX and LUNA, it means that even the top coins are not even guaranteed safe although they are way better than those low-valued projects in terms of risk. So this is where diversification plays an important role in investing. We will never put all our eggs in one basket.

I just realized that Syscoin is not in the top 100 anymore. It's an old coin that was created like 10 years ago. Developers are still at work, decent community and their volume remains decent as well. It is also listed on top exchanges. The main reason why I also pick this coin though is because it always breaks its previous ATH per 4-year cycle which is based on the bitcoin halving. ATH is at $1.30 which is more than x10 based on the current price. And I am expecting another ATH in 2025 or early 2026.
1032  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 05, 2023, 04:30:24 PM
Ricky Rubio announced his stepping out from professional activity to take care of his mental health. So, the World Cup is coming and he'll be out there for sure.

Does this means that it's possible that he's also going to be out of NBA and won't play for the Cavs when the regular season starts if he's not yet okay?

Nah, I don't think he'll give up his NBA career, it's a bit early for the 2019 FIBA MVP to give up this early. I mean that's his bread and butter right there and his passion as well. If he thought skipping the FIBA world cup could bring goodness to his career, pretty much everyone in the same shoe will do the same. It's also good for his mental health that the Spanish team respected his decision.
He should be more ready in the coming season so he won't lose but improve his value, otherwise he's going to disappear unnoticeably like the other role players in the NBA, since he's actually close to it after recovering from an injury he was struggling real hard when he have rejoined his team in the middle of the season.

It's very unlikely that Rubio will give up his NBA career. And it's common for NBA stars to take a pass on world cups, especially the American superstars since it is the Olympics that they are giving more prestige. Rubio is already 32, so he better takes care of himself physically and mentally if he wants to continue playing in the NBA once his contract expires after the 2024-25 season.

And Rubio will be excited in the coming NBA season with the arrival of Max Strus to Cleveland. Last season they already made it 4th in the Eastern Conference during the first-year stint of Donovan Mitchell so I am expecting the team to be better this coming season.
1033  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 05, 2023, 04:04:02 PM
~snip~

Most likely the case is all about the money. There are boxing families that are destroyed by it, and I read years ago that Sr wanted more cut from Donaire's pay check and that Jr doesn't want to give everything to his father.
Possible that it is the main reason.

Well, this does happen everywhere when they can't agree with each other or there's someone that has been hit by ones pride. So, in the end, instead of uniting and helping each other what happens is that they're striking each other.

Right, the root of the issue is money. But we can only speculate since there are 2 sides to the story. Rachel is good when it comes to social media. For many years, the stories are told mostly by the side of Nonito Jr. Lately, there's a long post by Nonito Sr. which starts from the very beginning when his younger son just started embracing boxing until the present. Not sure if you guys are interested and it's for you to find out.

1034  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Anthony Joshua vs Dillian Whyte II on: August 05, 2023, 03:07:33 PM

So this fight is called off after Dillian Whyte's samples went positive according to VADA. Rumors are that Matchroom is looking for a replacement to face AJ in the main event. We'll see if they can find someone willing to face AJ in a week's notice.

The main supporting bout in this event is a battle between undefeated heavyweights, the IBF mandatory Filip Hrgovic, and Demsey McKean. Maybe AJ should take McKean but it could be too risky. I have zero belief that AJ takes Hrgovic. The Croatian deserves a title fight in years already and he will butcher AJ if given the chance as Whyte's replacement.

1037  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - July 29 on: August 04, 2023, 02:38:20 PM
^ They already is under pressure on the numbers that Tank and Ryan has put up in their fight and I doubt that even if it is the biggest fight at 147 lbs since the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao, it will still be second best for this year.

But it's a biggest for Spence and Crawford and they should thank themselves for having this great numbers as pay-per-view and those who watch their fight live even if the price is steep.

No need to be pressured by the Tank-Garcia figures as it was boxing and a celebrity fight. Tank and Spence are on the same level of fans although it also means something because Spence is a unified champion while Tank is not even a champion for many years already. But Kingry is just too popular, he has no championship experience yet the casuals flocked and bought his biggest fight to date.

The numbers aren't final yet, it could be 650k or 700k. More like Jake Paul's first fight against a real boxer had higher PPV buys at 800k. Spence is not a trash talker while Bud seems not trying to make Spence mad or he's probably worried that Spence might cancel the fight. Cheesy But still, it's a big successful fight, it should be able to generate at least $80 million in revenue. Crawford and Spence can take home $20 to $30+ million each. And the legacy of that fight is more worth than the money since they're all rich multi-millionaires anyway. Bud became the first-ever 2-division undisputed champion in this 4-belt era. This fight will live forever and will be watched by future generations to come than May-Pac and May-McGregor.
1038  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A person who won 600k$ in lottery on: August 04, 2023, 01:37:40 PM
From what I heard, it is different when we have huge money that we didn't expect. $600k is not that big especially when officials and politicians will exploit the winner. The lack of financial education made that person helpless because his mindset would be too different.

There was a time in my life wherein I imagined myself winning more than $10 million in our local lottery. I even put it in Excel on my office's computer on how I will spend it. Charity, family, relatives, businesses, real estate, and cars. It somehow motivated me, yet when my crypto investments last 2017 grow big, I was kind of lost and didn't remember the previous learnings I had. The market fell big time in the next couple of years wherein I was forced to sell 99% of my holdings at the cheapest levels fearing that it may turn worse.
1039  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It's safe to say - gambling is a guy thing. on: August 04, 2023, 01:02:54 PM
For me, it has to do with the past wherein most women are staying at home to take care of the kids, do the cleaning of the house, cooking, and any other household-related chores. That tradition was practiced in nearly all parts of the world and even this is still observed in many countries. So men are the ones earning money so they are usually the ones having the luxury to spend it for entertainment which includes gambling.

In modern and open countries, there are already a lot of changes far from the early traditions. Inside a large mall here in our city, there is also a big bingo game place where I always observed that most players are mostly women.
1040  Economy / Speculation / Re: Should we rely on prediction? on: August 04, 2023, 12:39:20 PM
What is your point OP? Are you something new or what? Of course, predictions are only predictions. Should we rely on predictions? Well, it depends on you. We all have our own biases.

And it's time to face the reality? We are already in reality. Would you just buy bitcoin without your own prediction or with the help of someone's prediction that makes you feel confident? It's crazy, this is nothing compared to just playing dice or other games in a casino that are fully dependent on luck. You got to have an educated prediction that supports your investment plan.
