1141  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: would you play more on casino when your country plans to ban BTC? on: July 11, 2023, 09:25:05 PM
I don't think it will change my gambling spending. My gambling spending depends on my current financial situation and my available time because there are times when I am very busy. So if ever bitcoin and altcoins are going to get banned in my country, I will continue to hold them and of course, accumulate them. Generally, there are more crypto adoptions rather than more countries banning them. Even China could change its stance given the current situation in Hongkong wherein it is now accepting and even inviting crypto firms.

And there are always the peer to peer transactions everywhere. Bitcoin and crypto demand are getting high so I won't be surprised if the rate becomes even more higher in a country where it is banned. Plus if ever a ban happens in a democratic and open country like mine, it won't take that long before the authorities will reconsider accepting them again otherwise it will be left behind.

Check if there is existing thread before posting something like this. We are discussing it already: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28

Lock this thread.

My bad, since last year I switched to Google Search and surprisingly it did not catch the thread which is just made official a few hours ago. Locking it now.
1144  Economy / Gambling discussion / Boxing: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou on: July 11, 2023, 08:07:52 PM

This a surprising move by both fighters as they now agree on a big showdown in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia this coming October 28. But there were rumors already in the past few days that there was already a deal made and they are yet finalizing on the details. But this could be the best option for Fury after ducking Oleksandr Usyk for the undisputed belts. Usyk already has a schedule against his WBA mandatory Daniel Dubois and the WBC is yet to make a decision on their mandatory which makes Fury free from any responsibilities. Meanwhile, Francis Ngannou is more than a year inactive and as per his agreement with PFL, he is supposed to make a tune-up boxing match before challenging the big names in boxing. Money speaks though and this Saudi opportunity is too hard to say no for Francis. And Fury might be busy negotiating again once Usyk is done with Dubois, Wilder is busy coming to an agreement with Andy Ruiz for the WBC eliminator and AJ already has a schedule against Whyte.

There are no number of rounds yet announced. I'd be surprised if this is scheduled for 12 rounds. This is not an exhibition match either so it won't be surprising if the WBC will make a special approval to make this fight a voluntary defense. Anyways, I wonder if the poll is worth asking compared to which round Fury will stop this inactive Ngannou who's making his boxing debut.

Still, this is a massive fight. Fury is still considered by many as the real lineal heavyweight champion since he never lost after receiving that recognition from his victory over Wladimir Klitschko many years ago. And Francis Ngannou is branded as the hardest puncher in the world.
1145  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Positive thoughts and attitude towards Bitcoin. on: July 10, 2023, 08:34:13 PM
Nice inspiring story mate. You have the qualities of a successful entrepreneur someday. With regard to your bitcoin investment, I am not sure if putting 80% of your revenue is advisable. I have no idea about your ongoing business profit so maybe keeping 20% is good enough for you. But it's best if you stick to investing amounts that you can only afford to lose. This way, you still have enough funds in case you need something for urgent use and you don't have to be forced to sell your bitcoins especially if the market is down.
1146  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Olympic Games, but doping is allowed?! on: July 10, 2023, 07:49:38 PM
I did not even bother to watch the video or read the links. I don't think this will work. The tournament will have a hard time getting television airtime and I wonder if there are giant companies that are willing to sponsor this type of event. If ever the tournament goes thru event without much-needed support from the media, it won't be recognized by sports associations and groups including its world record if ever it breaks some.

The biggest question will be about the participants. It doesn't make sense to join the tournament because they will be banned by their organizations and regular tournaments. A participant will have nothing to do and earn after the tournament then? This is a crazy idea and there will be no top athletes willing to join.
1147  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My personal savings now I will invest in Bitcoin on: July 10, 2023, 02:12:55 PM
That's the negative side of saving your money. After years of saving, the real worth of your money is lesser due to inflation. Even the interest rates of the banks are just way too small to offset inflation, especially for a country that has a struggling economy and you just mentioned that Bangladesh is facing financial problems.

Just like you, I also wish I knew bitcoin as early as possible. But there is no such thing as late in bitcoin these days. We're still in a bearish market and we are expecting it to recover starting next year.
1148  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 10, 2023, 12:19:43 PM

I honestly don’t think that he will be able to live up to their expectations. If he is in really good form then probably he can perform well. But this is a mistake that they do with a lot of players. They just overhyped him and when he is not performing as expected people tend to absolutely forget about him.

It is too early to tell. The kid is young and shows a lot of potential. If he can work with Pop on what he lacks and needs to improve, then he can be something. If Tim can be great with just fundamentals, Wemby can also be. It will be a lot of work but that is just commitment. He already has the best coach on his side. If he can commit to the work needed to improve, then he will not be just an overhyped prospect but a real NBA superstar.

Wemby is probably the most hyped before entering the NBA ever since I follow the league. Lebron was also hyped but the internet and the media and social media are not that big during that time. Of course, Wemby is not that hyped if he is not really that good, and since he is still so young his potential is also very high.

With regard to Wemby's bad performance in his first game, I don't think it deserves a lot of criticism. He was probably pressured and nervous because that was his first time and everyone was expecting him to dominate the game. But he did play well in his next game. Wemby had 27 minutes of playing time and produced 9 of 14 for a total of 27 points with 12 rebounds. That was a great performance already. There's still a lot of work to do though but he is still 19 so he needs to relax and not feel the pressure.
1149  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | July 25 on: July 10, 2023, 09:03:11 AM
By the way guys, be sure to lock in your bets while we still have more time as the lines might not be the same anymore inside the 48 hours span. Good luck!

Thanks for the reminder, I haven't lock in my bet, and when I check it though, almost all options are now open.

I might look for "Will the fight is going to distance", as the odds are still very attractive to me. Yes at 2.03 and No at 1.70.

I haven't locked my bet in this fight as well unlike the Crawford vs Spence where I already locked in the 1.77 odds because I thought the WBO champion will keep on gaining favor.Cheesy But thanks for the reminder because I realized I am yet to bet on the Donaire-Santiago bout which happens already next week.

I am also looking at the odds if the fight goes the distance or not though I might also take an Inoue ML at 1.30 something. I have confidence the Inoue will win even when this fight goes to the hands of the judges. But of course, I want to see KOs and TKOs. Inoue is yet to fight in this new division and we'll see if he is capable of hurting the top dogs, especially Fulton who already proved his big heart and tough chin after surviving the Figueroa unification bout where he won in a very close debatable decision. Fulton was hurt several times by Figueroa but was able to hold on and was never down once.

On this fight, I have the same thoughts as with you. As I have said, I'm seeing Fulton as trying to get very tough and will want to proved that this is his division. He might run though and will used his boxing IQ and try not to fight toe to toe in the beginning. That Figueroa shows that Fulton too has heart and will not go down easily so let's see if he can do that and last the distance against Inoue here. Yes, lots of fights this July so it's really hard where and who to bet to, maybe a good parlay will do as well.

Yeah, I am as well curious as to how Fulton will fight Inoue. He surprised us when he fought toe to toe most of the time against Figueroa. I am also thinking that Fulton will use his boxing skills to outbox Inoue but maybe he will surprise us again by trying to become the aggressor. Maybe he will clinch or corner Inoue and then box in the inside which would need a lot of strength and energy. I doubt Inoue is used to fighting a dirty battle which would deprive him to utilize his best asset which is his blinding speed.

Maybe a parlay on Inoue and Donaire makes sense. And if you want to make the odds near 2.0 you can add AJ as well. Another exciting fight is between Oscar Valdez and Emanuel Navarette, it's a guaranteed war pretty sure.
1150  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Anthony Joshua vs Dillian Whyte II on: July 10, 2023, 08:26:23 AM
the worst mistake of a fighter is when he goes back to fight the guy who defeated him, that's because most of the time when the fighter is undefeated and loses to someone, the tendency is to want revenge, but he starts to let his emotions affect him, even if he is a professional fighter, even if he has won other fights after the defeat, still when he faces the fighter who beat him he starts to get carried away by anger and I lose focus, in my opinion in the case of this fight I will wait for the days of the fight are approaching so I can have an idea of who can win the fight, and it's true that many years have passed since the two fought

and many things have changed, but the central problem is that even though many years have passed and a lot has changed in terms of the fighters' achievements, this fight is about emotions, both fighters will have emotions when fighting and that could hinder the loser of the last fight, so I'll wait until the days of the fight get closer to see what I'm going to bet on

True, a rematch means there are psychological effects. In the past, there are a lot of rematches that happened. I remember when Oscar De La Hoya lost a very close fight to Sugar Shane Mosley at 147 but later became a unified champion at 154. He then challenged Mosley in a rematch with intentions of avenging his previous questionable defeat. Mosley before the fight lost 2 and a draw in his last 3 fights which further hyped the odds for a De La Hoya victory. But when the sound of the bell began, Mosley looked like a fresh confident fighter, and De La Hoya failed to dominate. In the end, all of De La Hoya's belts were taken by Mosley after securing another close but unanimous victory.

I believe AJ is still battling with his emotions after suffering 3 defeats. It will be interesting how his approach in this fight knowing he already stopped Whyte before but at the same time, he knows that he is also vulnerable especially if Whyte goes beast mode. Whyte has nothing to lose already, he should train hard and work on his stamina so he can attack AJ, or else it will be AJ attacking him.

The only team that currently stand a chance to win against GG is actually Betboom with their original roster which include Pure but Im pretty sure they will kick Pure out after the incident so yeah there we have it, GG is going to win the TI for sure

They secured a spot, so they might not replace him. It will be hard for Betboom to adjust this close to TI.  If they find a replacement, they might not have a good rapport with the rest of the team which could lead to a very poor performance. And the only tournament they could test his replacement would be in Riyadh which is already starting a week from now. Pure may be stupid but he is their best bet going into TI.

It's pretty sad what happened on BetBoom. They just started to build a bigger momentum which is also very crucial at this stage while TI is happening in the next few months. They even beat GG 2-0 in their latest series during the group stage in Bali. So definitely it is BetBoom that has the real potential of ending GG's dominance.

If they kick Pure it also means BetBoom is out of TI direct invitations. Although there is a chance that Valve who's yet to make an official announcement will deduct points on BetBoom because they continued the tournament with a stand-in. I just hope Pure won't get a ban even this season because I like a complete BetBoom this coming TI. And hopefully the US will give Pure a visa too if he stays with BetBoom.
1153  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do not limits your investment... on: July 09, 2023, 08:47:52 PM
Currently i do limits all my crypto-investment since we enter the bear market cause not all my investment turned out to be that profitable sometimes one can to learn to invest what he can afford to lose. Market sentiments used to be good back then when almost all investment turns out to be profitable but that's not the case anymore hope things will get better soon.

We'll mate it is a general rule to always invest what we can only afford to lose. Yet I may be a hypocrite if I continue to say that I am also following that rule. Last year, I had the idea of selling my house so I can invest bigger in the crypto market although I did not do it. But lately, I am once again thinking of investing bigger and the one that is in my head right now is to take a bank loan. In order to minimize its interest rate I can offer my house as collateral. But of course, I have no plans of maximizing the loanable value of my house, maybe 25% to 50% of its value.

By the way, you don't expect to earn big time in this period and last year since we are still in a bear season. But it seems everyone is already anticipating a big bull run starting next year which means the perfect time to accumulate is now?

1154  Economy / Economics / Re: What could Elon Musk be buying next? on: July 09, 2023, 08:16:10 PM
Elon Musk is an all-around successful person who handles everything perfectly. He can change a market with just one statement. When Elon Musk announced to buy Bitcoin, at that time a large number of people followed his statement and bought Bitcoin, which caused the price of Bitcoin to increase a lot. Then he bought the most popular social media Twitter with a huge amount of money. Later he may be planning to buy some other big company in which case his list may include Facebook, Instagram or other social media.

Elon Musk is a great businessman and a master of innovation but I doubt he is perfect in everything he touches especially the market. And by the way, Twitter is not the most popular social media, it is not even in the top 10. As per statistica.com, Twitter is only ranked 14 behind Chinese giants QQ and Sina Weibo. Still sitting at the top are of course Facebook and YouTube.

Twitter is a struggling company and it is very interesting to see if Elon can actually turn it into a profitable one which I believe he can but not that fast and easy. I even believe that Twitter's net deficit became bigger. Elon might be lucky that he turned the company into a private one rather than making its stocks available to the public which would've dropped heavily after some backlash with its current users.
1155  Economy / Economics / Re: Has the popularity of bitcoins reduced interest of people in stocks? on: July 09, 2023, 07:55:22 PM
The popularity of Bitcoin is currently a serious threat to stocks, because many stock investors have switched to using Bitcoin because they are very tempted by the benefits they get, without having to wait a long time they can get very large profits, of course this is far different from the stock market which only gives us a few percent of profits, so currently the stock market must be able to compete with the crypto world, especially bitcoin so that they are equally relied on by investors.

In my country, I can feel that our local stock market is losing its steam to the public of the ever-growing popularity of bitcoin and crypto in general. Although it is not that serious because the biggest volume in our local stocks came from huge institutions from foreign and local. The ordinary traders' volume may not be that serious but if the trend continues, our local stocks will become less popular among us local citizens.

The halving of bitcoin which in the past meant a huge bull run in the whole crypto market is pretty sure to make another huge interest to our local population here in my country. I can only hope that our local government will cater to these huge crypto exchanges like Binance rather than adopting a hostile approach towards them.

1157  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bet on live game or while game hasn't started yet? on: July 09, 2023, 07:06:56 PM
So I tried to do live betting again today in the DOTA 2 Bali Major. I was waiting on my preferred team to somehow fell behind when the odds are high enough for them but once again it isn't very pleasant catching those ever-changing odds. Sometimes I am simply forced to just take a bet even if with undesired odds or lose the opportunity to bet on a specific game. Later on, I just went on to bet pre-game because I felt like I was not focused on the game anymore which I am supposed to enjoy especially because it is the finals already.

So as always, live betting can be profitable but it also annoys you at times. And it also takes away your focus on the game but maybe some of you will have the same level of fun even if you missed some seconds of the game.
1158  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 08, 2023, 09:57:38 PM

Bob Arum doing that kind of thing when in-fact he already have the right to dictate and demand because they are on the A-side is quite unheard of. But I see your point, it will be pointless if he will argue and make the fight much longer if ever the sanctioning bodies will give the green light because instead of getting some profits out of it, he cannot generate something if a fight will not exist.

On that side, where Beterbiev is already close to retirement, maybe the chance of surrendering the right might take place, Bob Arum is a well-known money maker person he will do everything to suck all the money that he can deal with, as for the possibilities, he may rather give the right to Hearn and let them negotiate to make sure that there's still money that he can collect,

but then again it will be depends from how these two handlers will communicate and close the deal, updates will be provided for sure, once there's a negotiation that take place between Beterbiev and Bivol's camps.

To be fair, all these promoters are business minded and will squeeze as much money if a fighter is not managed well. But I do consider Eddie Hearn, the youngest of the Big 4 as the most open-minded and willing to work with anyone. Although it is weird why there are so many talks about the issue of making Beterbiev-Bivol when it is a fact that the former has 3 belts compared to 1. So if Bivol is that determined, he should tell his promoters and DAZN to let ESPN and Top Rank do the job. Bivol just needs to make sure the fight is not happening in Canada and Texas, and maybe he can also demand to have the approval of the ring officials. Maybe it is not Hearn unwilling here but DAZN itself.

The sanctioning bodies have zero to very little power since they are not supposed to issue mandatories to their champions against fighters that are already world champions. Unless the sanctioning bodies secretly talk to each other and agree unanimously to do something like when the WBC mandated its champion Canelo to face GGG who was at that time also the WBA and IBF champion. Still very unlikely, because even these 4 sanctioning bodies are very sensitive with each other and besides they also do not want to put pressure on these giant networks and promoters.
1159  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you stay updated on: July 08, 2023, 09:28:18 PM
Nowadays there are a lot of ways to watch games live especially the big events. You can pay online or even watch them for free. UFC's big events including its Fight Nights are always available everywhere. In boxing, for as long as they are televised by the big 3 which consist of DAZN, ESPN, and Showtime it should be a problem looking for live links. You'd be forced to choose whom to focus watching though as these big 3 networks are at war with each other so they usually have their own weekend events as well. But you can focus on the world title fights as they tend to be the more exciting and competitive fights. I am using VIPRow most of the time but there's also Sportsurge so you can choose a lot of its sources.
1160  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 08, 2023, 08:57:41 PM
But give him 2 or more years experience and training with Spurs then he will be a very good center. Spurs is known for scouting talent like Robinson and Duncan. I think they can develop Wemby properly since this is their chance to have another great player that will carry the franchise for another championship in the future.

2 years is more than enough. For me it should be just around a year's transformation and he should see a vastly improved Wemby. But I do agree, their #1 picks in the last includes Robinson and Duncan and this two brought them a dynasty in the 2000's (together with other players).

The good thing about Wemby being picked by San Antonio is that the team is proven to have developed even players that were drafted late and turned them into big stars. And there's also the legendary Tim Duncan and David Robinson.

Honestly, I am not even surprised by Wemby's first game in the Summer League. And even this coming NBA season, there is also a big chance that he won't win the Roy. Wemby is just 19 and his body is not yet matured. The potential though is too high that is why he is hyped a lot.

And because everything in the feeds and headlines about basketball is nearly all focused on Wemby, many are not talking about his potential rival Chet Holmgren of OKC playing today against Dallas. It is already in the 4th quarter and OKC is leading by a huge 14 points. Chet so far played 23 minutes and is 5/10 with 14 points while grabbing 9 rebounds.
