1061  Economy / Gambling discussion / Boxing: Regis Prograis vs Devin Haney (9th of December) on: July 30, 2023, 12:22:51 PM

This news is already circulating and reliable sources are telling that the undisputed lightweight champion Devin Haney already agreed to move up in weight to challenge super-lightweight champion Regis Prograis this coming October 28 in Las Vegas, Nevada. This is another big fight coming up and the young Devin Haney finally gets his wish to move up since there were issues already in the past that he is killing himself to make the lightweight weight. He will be tested against the 2-time champion and heavy-handed Regis Prograis.

There is a lot of drama in Haney's situation though as most fans and even the stats are saying Vassily Lomachenko beats him and deserves an immediate rematch. There's also the WBC's mandatory for him to face 2 division champion, Shakur Stevenson. And lastly, Top Rank's offer for Haney to face the biggest name at the junior welterweight, the lineal and WBO champion Teofimo Lopez. More updates soon if Haney will be stripped of his belts at 135 as he wanted to keep them while testing the waters at super lightweight.

1063  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling experience using loan money on: July 29, 2023, 12:24:02 PM
Are there really high-ranked members here that are borrowing money in order to gamble? This doesn't make sense unless someone is in a hurry for a big promotion with good odds of winning or taking a bonus.

However, in land-based casinos, I heard about and even tried to finance with a friend so we could start small lending offering money to those regular players in the casino. Of course, there will be collaterals like watches, jewelry, motorbikes, or even cars. The loans are also short-term they should be payable in days, a few weeks, or within a month. My venture didn't work well though but I know it exists here in my country which is ridiculous but most of them if not all are rich people.
1064  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you like Meme Coins (Pepes project)? on: July 29, 2023, 12:02:59 PM
I've never been a fan of meme coins in my years in crypto. But lately, I am starting to open myself to any possibilities in an unorthodox way. Still, I am not preferring meme coins because it is like I am buying a lottery ticket. The only meme coin that I want to recheck including its charts since the beginning is Dogecoin. I believe this coin is already a regular part of the top coins so its previous all-time high will be broken once again in the next bull run or at least its ATH will be revisited again. So I guess it is worth the risk.
1065  Other / Archival / Re: How to manage bitcoin correctly? on: July 29, 2023, 11:41:17 AM
If you are not good at investment management then just hold bitcoin long term. The best strategy so far in making it easy to buy bitcoin is to do a regular DCA like weekly or monthly whichever feels you comfortable. Only invest money you can afford to lose of course.

Another thing to point out is you take note of the 4-year cycle of bitcoin especially if it continues to move the same way. So plan long term and try to withdraw only after the year of the halving period as it is always the year where bitcoin is at its highest price.
1066  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 29, 2023, 11:21:53 AM
I am a big fan of Damian Lillard but I agree with James Harden saying he understands that each team, especially his current team would as much as possible look for the best deals. I would love to see Dame land in Miami but the NBA management makes sense. If players are allowed to talk a lot and make threats on deals in public, it would make fans believe that smaller teams and less attractive cities are really at a big disadvantage.

Anyways, I cannot wait for both Lillard and Harden to get transferred to other teams so we can have clearer views of the teams for the coming season. I smell doom on Miami if they cannot get Lillard as it did not match and traded some of its players in order to create space. Philly might be also in the same situation too if it cannot acquire reliable players as Harden's replacement.
1067  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - July 29 on: July 29, 2023, 10:57:59 AM
So it seems like the Crawford vs Spence event has some more fireworks pre-fight night. Have you guys watched the altercation between former champion Caleb Plant and 2 division champion Jermall Charlo? Caleb Plant landed a slap on Jermall Charlo's face before the security was able to separate Caleb. There were also rumors that the wives of twins Jermall and Jermell had another fight in the parking lot. Cheesy So I am now changing my previous prediction of 800k PPV buys to a million plus in this event.

Can't wait for this event to happen. Looking forward to Nonito Donaire breaking his own record as the oldest bantamweight champion in history and the oldest champion in the present. There's also a battle between Pacman's MP Promotions fighter Isaac Cruz and his close friend and former coach Freddie Roach's protege Giovanni Cabrera. And the main event, I am looking forward to seeing Terrence Bud Crawford as the first ever 2-division undisputed champion in this  4-belt era.
1068  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Anthony Joshua vs Dillian Whyte II on: July 29, 2023, 10:30:28 AM
I have a feeling that AJ goes for the offensive against Whyte right in the very first round. So it is either he hits Whyte and gets a stoppage or his offense will stop once Whyte starts to connect as well. Once Whyte will connect his own punches and AJ feels it hard, AJ's mindset will change and his confidence will go down and will shift into boxing trying to outbox Whyte. I do think Whyte will run out of gas and will slow down in the later rounds so AJ can take advantage either by knockout or by outboxing him.

On the other hand, Eddie Hearn opened up his 3-fight plan for AJ provided he keeps on winning.

AJ has to be careful as he has been knocked down before, so he isn't as durable as he thought. Maybe he will have huge confidence since this is a rematch, and he has already beaten Whyte before, so he has already won the mind game. As long as he follows the game plan well, I'm sure he'll have an edge in winning this fight. It's not necessary to KO Whyte; what's more important is that he wins impressively, as a positive outcome of this fight could open up another championship opportunity for him.

If he could surpass Whyte, I doubt he could pass the next level which is against Wilder.

AJ's confidence will be boosted by a lot of Spence wins this weekend over Crawford but I also think he will lose some of his confidence if his stablemate losses a beatdown. Still, he should be able to overcome Whyte who's slower and is known to fatigue in the late rounds.

I have a feeling that Wilder might be in the same mental situation as AJ. In Wilder's last fight, he was backing down and was the one getting hunted which means he was scared of getting KO'd again. Heleneus is old and slow and was countered but I can imagine if it was someone quicker and mobile, Wilder might get sparked if he can't land first. Nonetheless, that win might also bring back much of Wilder's confidence.

^^ Yes, I think it's a good plan money wise for Eddie and Joshua as well. Having to fight Dillian Whyte here, bring back Joshua mind and his confidence and then look for Wilder which we have been waiting for many years, when they were still has no defeats in their record and when the Gypsy King is not yet making a comeback. But everything has change now, Fury comes back, takes all the glory beat Wilder and then Joshua losing to Ruiz and it's the start of his being reluctant to pull the trigger. But at least he can still make a lot of money and maybe this 3 HW's can smell the Saudi money, LOL. Perhaps we are talking here about minimum $50M-$100M waiting for them if they all make a fight in Saudi whether as undercard or facing each other. (Fury vs Usyk, Wilder vs Joshua in same card).

That would've been a huge super fight between undefeated champions for the undisputed championship. But Wilder later admitted that he chickened out even if the offer from Matchroom and DAZN was already so huge and there's also the rematch clause which happens in the US if the first match happens in the UK. Wilder is always known to duck fighters and was even holding the undisputed championship hostage many times because his team was unwilling to unify with former lineal 3-belt champion Wladimir Klitschko citing the Bronze Bomber is not yet ready for the Ukrainian.

1070  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I'll always tell people about bitcoin on: July 28, 2023, 03:52:28 PM
Good for you. I can only hope that you are not charging people in your sessions introducing bitcoin like many so-called gurus are trying to do.

Personally, it's not that I am scared to get the blame if in case their investments fail to materialize, it's just that I want privacy and I don't want people to know more about me. And I also continue to tell some close friends about the potential of bitcoin especially on the financial side although most of them are not convinced. But many of them contact me during bull runs and some are just looking for some free treats.
1071  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are there age limits to Bitcoin investment? on: July 28, 2023, 03:19:54 PM
Bitcoin is decentralized so obviously there are no age limits. However, exchanges and other centralized platforms that are mostly used in purchasing bitcoins are following regulations so minors are not allowed to transact.

There are many reasons why kids are not allowed to do investing in not just bitcoin but including other assets like stocks. Kids are supposed to be studying, enhancing, and developing their gifts and skills to become better beings in the future.

But there are exemptions as well, when I started into crypto investing I was able to befriend some minors and they were able to digest well what bitcoin is and actually earned a lot during the 2017 bull run. Maybe those kids are gifted with financial and technological abilities that they shifted some of their free time into studying bitcoin and the ways to earn online where they paid mostly in bitcoins.
1072  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Greed can cause a lost bet, (true or false) on: July 28, 2023, 02:56:51 PM
Cmon bro whats a man without his greed  Grin Grin. And am speaking from experience too, there are many times where one plans to go away with their winning but instead end up going away with nothing because of the opposite taught of how you could gather more instead of the one you intend going with and this was my major problem when I was letting my greed in the way of my gambling life.
haha, thats true, greed is an inherent aspect of human nature, and in our modern lifestyle, it's challenging to avoid it. personally,  i'll admit, i'm not immune to greed, struggling to maintain control over my winnings. when i win $100, i crave $150, and when that's achieved, i yearn for $200, only to find myself losing it all eventually.  :p, sometimes this is like a joke, not stopped when get win and in the end i play for nothing can withdraw.  Grin

This reminds me of when I played Utopia some years ago where players can choose the race they want to play, humans are one of the races and one of its characteristics is being greedy. So greed is indeed part of us and it is up to us if we are going to activate it especially when we are into gambling.

Most of the time, greed leads to losing a bet. I experienced it many times too not just in gambling but in some other ways like investing. The best way is to just follow the plan and be contented with any profit small or big.
1073  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: July 28, 2023, 11:58:27 AM
Without any doubts , yesterday was one of the best days of Dota2 this year and the fact that Talon lost in that way really made me sad because that team deserves to win a Major man...they really do. For Liquid , what can you say? the luck was with them on that throne vs throne match up.

Then , we had the mega crazy comeback of Team Spirit who can never be counter out from a game as their most impressive skill as a team is to play mega good in defense and we all saw yesterday what Yatoro can do if his team will delay the game just enough for him to build those items that will win them the game as I'm sure only a few of us believed that Team Spirit can make a comeback in both game 1 and 3 against BetBoom.

Great matches yesterday. Somehow I am glad Liquid was able to steal that deciding map. I still believe they are pretty much better and more clutched. So far they already made huge hard wins in the upper bracket. I believe they are now the favorites to win this tournament.

I am still a fan of Team Spirit but I never thought that BetBoom fell into a comeback. I am so hyped on BetBoom and won all my bets on them so far and now they are facing earlier than expected against GG (provided it wins over Quest which is expected).

Nonetheless, all these remaining matches are pretty great and exciting. I am still rooting for GG and BB in the lower bracket.
1074  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - July 29 on: July 28, 2023, 11:38:45 AM
On a side note, there is a friendly bet between the two mayors representing this fighters,

Quote
Dallas Mayor Eric L. Johnson and Omaha Mayor Jean Stothert made a friendly wager on Wednesday ahead of the undisputed welterweight world championship showdown between Dallas-native and unified WBC, WBA and IBF welterweight world champion Errol “The Truth” Spence Jr. and Omaha-native and WBO welterweight world champion Terence “Bud” Crawford, taking place this Saturday, July 29 on Showtime PPV from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

https://www.boxingscene.com/spence-crawford-dallas-mayor-makes-friendly-wager-with-omaha-mayor--176466

So probably this news will boost the already hype fight because of the involvement of the mayors hehehe. Just couple of days left before the fight. We are going to see the full weigh-in and see the body language of the two.

And most likely everyone has his own analysis and could have put their bets already.

Now that's a great friendly bet. Too bad most of my boxing personal friends are too busy with their lives and I am not sure if they are watching this fight live. Another friend connected with me but he is a changed man who's not into betting and liquor anymore for years now. Would've offered some wonderful stuff if anyone is interested. Grin

Anyways, Texas and Nebraska are always supportive of these 2 fighters ever since. Spence though has a huge market advantage knowing how big and rich Texas is compared to the rural-like state of Crawford. I just finished watching their last conference and it's cool, no bad blood but there was some trash talking including from the crowd. So from my earlier prediction of around 500k PPV buys, I believe that it should get a minimum of 800k now but hopefully, it will reach more than 1.2 million buys. Tickets are all sold out so an expected 20k fight fans will be watching.
1075  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Anthony Joshua vs Dillian Whyte II on: July 28, 2023, 11:18:31 AM
That's always been the case for Joshua after his first loss to Ruiz and Usyk. In the second Usyk fight, he had a breakdown after the fight.

So this is very important for him, Although he did get a new trainer, but still as the first round starts, it will be just him and Dillian Whyte. And it will be more mental for Joshua here than physical. He might be in the best shape of his life, but if his minds has started to doubt that he can win, then it won't help him here, IMHO.
The breakdown is so hard to see for Joshua's fans and camps but it is what it was it's a hard climb for Joshua but he is very prone to a breakdown he easily gives out when faced with a good adversary we first saw this in the Ruiz Jr fight he spits his mouthpiece and failed to answer when asked if he wants to continue after getting a knockdown, and on Usyk fight he became passive when Usyk was attacking him, I'm sure we will see a little bit of that trace when Whyte shows no respect to him in their coming match.

It's all in the mind now for AJ if he see flashes of the Ruiz fight in his mind in this fight. And we will see how Derrick James can motivate him in this fight. As @inthelongrun, he is training with a lot of great boxers as well. So hopefully, he will be extra motivated to train very hard in the same gym, sweating it out with the likes of Ryan Garcia and Errol Spence Jr.

So it's a mental game going forward for AJ, he should go back to his old style. And not be hesitant and let his hands go if needed. Because after the his first lost to Ruiz Jr., for sure majority of us has notice that AJ doesn't want to pull the trigger, and unsure without to punch 1-2 or just go chase the opponent in the ring without throwing any power punch.

Definitely, that's the weakness I have seen in him now because he was once a champion, and now he has plenty of losses already. When the problem is mental, it's not hard to rise up from that since what your mind says, the body will follow. However, there's good news because AJ has won his previous fight, so maybe he has slowly recovered a bit from his losing experience. Now, he's facing a fighter he has beaten before, and I'm sure he knows how to do it again.

1076  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to grow the bitcoin you have? on: July 26, 2023, 04:48:22 PM
There are no proven low-risk methods to grow your bitcoin. Something not mentioned in there that can also grow your bitcoin is trading but this is a very risky method as well. So you better keep your bitcoins intact in a hard wallet and hold them long-term.

Since you do not want to risk your bitcoins, you are probably busy with your life and earning. So how about buying bitcoins regularly in order to grow them even at a slow pace? I've seen a lot of people here in this forum that are doing it. I am doing it as well but monthly and not that big.
1077  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A neighbor next door on: July 26, 2023, 04:28:17 PM
You better stay away from your neighbor as much as possible. Make yourself busy and occupied so he understands it later on and won't distract you again. In the case that he is asking you about bitcoin, you simply give him the basic information but you don't teach him the best way to buy, sell and hide bitcoins. Of course, you also have to tell him to search on the internet if he wants to learn more about bitcoin.

This is why I just want to stay silent and keep myself private about my investing in bitcoin. Unless people are just too close to me and I can feel comfortable sharing them. Nonetheless, bitcoin has its own risks which is something ordinary people cannot take especially during bear season.
1078  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Pros and Cons of Crypto vs. Traditional Gambling on: July 26, 2023, 02:58:34 PM
This might differs from your country of residence unlike our country there are free access to fund with your card or possible make some direct transfer using our local currency to the gambling site without any delay it quickly reflects to your balance on the gambling site. The decision are being made by bettor to either fund their account or not there is no restrictions to funds one's account unlike the traditional gambling site where one often go with fiat and they sets some restriction on the whether it's your decision to gamble with such amount to avoid accusation and theft from the betting shops.

So it really differs from country to country. Although the last time I tried funding an online gambling account was more than 5 years ago, it was denied and I also inquired other banks but to no avail. I came from a very open country yet I doubt there is a change of stance from the bank's perspective. Thanks to casinos and sports betting sites that are now allowing cryptocurrencies to be used as regular currencies. Crypto betting sites are very friendly to me and my countrymen that bet regularly.
1079  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 26, 2023, 02:38:17 PM
Moving forward, Tatum is also expected to have the same huge max contract in his final year with the team and not exercise his rights on his Player Option.
Well, that should be given. They cannot just let Tatum be left with a contract that is lower than the number 2. Cheesy
He also did so much for the team I think he will be the future of it if they want a higher possibility of a championship. Locker room issues will become the Celtics' management problem if they won't do the same favor for him.

Brown's agent made a great job in securing the deal. I wonder how the negotiations went on as Brown is not a top-10 player. Yet it somehow managed to just slightly edge Steph Curry as the highest paid in the NBA this coming season.

With that new deal, pretty sure Jason Tatum get his own version and it will be bigger than Brown unless he is willing to sacrifice millions of dollars in order for the team to save money. And there are also the other superstars that will demand higher pay once they are qualified for new deals.
1080  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Anthony Joshua vs Dillian Whyte II on: July 26, 2023, 01:51:04 PM

Ryan Garcia posted a picture of him, Anthony Joshua, Errol Spence, and their coach. Anthony Joshua seems happy and this is important for him to regain his confidence. Not sure if undisputed 154 champion Jermell Charlo started his training yet but it would've added more motivation for AJ to train harder. And there's also 3-belt holder Errol Spence grinding hard for his undisputed fight against Bud Crawford. A win for Spence this coming weekend would surely make AJ more empowered. But a loss, especially if Bud will clearly dominate the fight would make AJ think about Jamal's effectiveness and questions himself if he is training the right way.
