1481  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is on 30k how was your feelings ? on: April 20, 2023, 06:03:03 AM
Honestly, I felt a bit happy and at the same, I am thinking about its next dip. Cheesy I guess this is the effect when you are doing a DCA on bitcoin. I am supposed to buy a little last April 11 as part of my regular DCA but it was the day when bitcoin and the whole crypto market went mooning. I am happy because it shows to those in doubt that bitcoin is really going back to its old price and will establish another ATH soon. But before the major bull run next year, I really need to accumulate as much as possible which is why I also want to lower my cost in order to have a bigger ROI in 2025.
Yes, there is always the potential for a price drop even though over the last 4 months the price of bitcoin has shown a recovery. If you do DCA, that's great because it's a great process for collecting bitcoins. I think we'll be back at $20k over the course of 2023, but probably not if the hype and FOMO continues to build.

Today we are back under $30k, so maybe it's still time to buy some on the dip. On the potential for new ATH, I think we can expect it in 2025 or after the 2024 halving. I would make sure to buy before the halving because I think there are definitely good areas to do entries this year.

When bitcoin touched $30k I was expecting a $28k correction but it only touched $29k and then back to $30k again yesterday. So today, here it is the $28k correction. I managed to purchase some satoshis to complete my DCA this month. Now I believe $25k is still reachable but I just do not know when. Maybe in the next few weeks or months, we will see it at $25k. For now, I expect the price to move back to $30k again after a healthy correction.

I would be glad to see bitcoin reach an ATH next year because it only means that there is another ATH in 2025, maybe $200k? $100k is my conservative ATH target but I am hoping for something higher.
1482  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can owning 1 Bitcoin make you rich in 2023? on: April 19, 2023, 09:40:34 AM
Most of us want to become rich but it is not recommended to put all your money into bitcoin just because of your dream that this currency is the one that will change your life. We still need to work harder and look for more streams of income in order for us to have enough savings and allocate some of it into bitcoin and other assets.

Owning 1 bitcoin does not make you rich in a short time. Maybe it will in the long run. But if in case you will sell it now, it is enough for you to do a lot like starting a business.
1483  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: No late comer in bitcoin Investment. on: April 19, 2023, 08:34:45 AM
There is a lot of potentials to invest anywhere. There is no such thing as late in investment either in bitcoin or other assets. As for bitcoin, this year or maybe some months before the bitcoin halving next year are the perfect remaining time to invest. Everyone is anticipating another huge bull run next year and 2025 and no one wants to get left behind. There's still plenty of time to learn more about bitcoin before starting to invest. There's still plenty of time to accumulate bitcoin before its price will break its previous ATH and establish another ATH. But just like some people that are hesitant over the years, every journey starts with a step.
1484  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: how will it be? on: April 19, 2023, 08:14:41 AM
If OP invested the amount during the time of his post, he would have been in profit of around 10% of his capital. If he is still holding his capital because he is waiting for bitcoin to drop lower then he might need to wait for some weeks or who knows it won't happen again. That is why if I am to be asked what is best for newbies, they should do a DCA (monthly or weekly if the investor has the funds to do it). Diversification of assets is also necessary IMO including crypto. He can invest 50% of his capital in bitcoin, 25% in ethereum and he can do research for potential altcoins and invest 5% in each of them.
1485  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for April on: April 19, 2023, 07:53:54 AM
After finally breaking $30k, I thought bitcoin correction happens. But so far it only touched again the $29k mark and is now back again at $30k. I believe bitcoin will now slow down a bit, maybe it will end at $31k at the end of this month. But since it is now over the $30k mark, I am calling April bullish although not that much.

I might have to wait until next month and see if there are lower dips for my DCA this month. Maybe $28k is doable in the next few weeks to come.
1486  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Josh Taylor vs Teofimo Lopez on: April 19, 2023, 07:29:38 AM
It's always funny, and a bit annoying to listen to see Teofimo Lopez interviewed. But at least Teofimo seems to finally recognize that he is facing a fighter that is not just good but great. Earlier, Teofimo was caught on camera asking his team if he still has the fire which probably means that he starts to doubt himself especially when he is fighting the former undisputed and lineal champion of his new division.

Josh Taylor flew from the UK to Newark, New Jersey during the Stevenson-Yoshino fight because it was a big Top Rank event and he also thought that Lopez will be there to hype their fight. Lopez didn't attend though and Taylor is now bullying him online that he is a coward and he is hiding. This is probably the first time Lopez is not trash-talking his opponent since he became a world champion. Lopez seemed a little bit down mentally lately and is looking for motivation. He also hopes Loma will beat Haney. Maybe he will be motivated if Loma beats young Haney.

1488  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | July 25 on: April 19, 2023, 05:38:39 AM

For now this delay and having more time is something that is really that he needs.
If he wasn't injured during training, he wouldn't have needed it. But things like that can happen, and as fans, we should be thankful that the delay isn't too long. According to the latest news, the fight can still happen this month of July, so the hype will only increase more as the fight is still on.
Yes, Inoue and even Fulton do not need this delay if not for the injury. The delay is even more costly especially to Fulton because he cannot be in fighting mode training camp for many months, which will burn his body. Fighters usually set up training camps for 2 to 3 months, they cannot overtrain. So this means both fighters have to stop their training for some weeks and then they will set up their training camps again for the coming July fight.

This would really be a good fight for this year and lots had been anticipating for this one.
This is one of the most highly anticipated fights, so it's unlikely to be a boring one and could even be a candidate for the Fight of the Year award.
This is my most anticipated of all the scheduled upcoming fights. Inoue is #1 or #2 pound for pound right now and he is on a mission to become a 4-division champion which will be the highest a Japanese can accomplish (only Ioka is their 4-division champion). The most important mission for Inoue though is to become the first 2-division undisputed champion in the 4-belt era.

I am also curious if the light-handed Fulton will try to become the aggressor against the heavy-handed speedster just like what he did against Brandon Figueroa.
1489  Economy / Economics / Re: using credit card on: April 18, 2023, 06:20:45 PM
I'd been offered many times by banks for their credit cards and some of them are already free of annual fees but I always refused. What for? We are not supposed to spend money beyond our means. I only have 1 credit card and it's because it came from a friend working in a bank so I cannot refuse although I seldom use it and at the same time the card also functions as a debit card. I prefer using debit cards or cash because I am more aware of my current financial status.

Credit cards are still useful, especially during emergencies. But still, a responsible person should have savings for emergency purposes.
1490  Local / Pamilihan / Re: [NEWS] GCrypto is now available to selected users on: April 18, 2023, 06:05:16 PM

1491  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't invest money you can't afford to lose out of greed. on: April 18, 2023, 05:51:59 PM
This is probably the most common tip or warning to newbie investors. Not just in crypto but investing in general. We can predict the future based on charts, research, and other information but there are always no guarantees of what will happen in the future.

Newbies over time are victims of this. Maybe because of greed or because they always thought that they are late if they take time to make thorough studies. When I started investing in crypto, I also felt the urge to invest right away so I won't be late but thanks to my patience and investment experiences, I did not dive right away.
1492  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: April 18, 2023, 12:58:30 PM
Games later:

Hawks vs Boston Celtics (0-1)
Knicks vs Cavaliers (1-0)
Clippers vs Suns (1-0)

I'm keeping my options open for these games, but I would like to bet on teams that really need a win. The spread is high for the two teams that I'm planning to bet on, but I guess I'm confident to bet on them.

Therefore, my bet is on the Suns -7.5 and Cavaliers -5.5.

I like both of your picks. I think Suns and Cavs will try everything to even the series and if they play well that handicapped is possible to cover knowing the nature of both teams, they are good when they are in control of the game.

It will be more on Durant and Booker to really come out strong as they are facing another super team
who can really give them a hard time to beat.
I have the same picks but I haven't made my bet for today yet due to the same thought that the spreads are high, especially on the Suns. But it is really necessary for both the Cavs and Suns to win game 2 because it will be harder for them to catch up when the court switches to the opposing teams.

Meanwhile, Boston is the safest bet on ML at 1.21 excluding overtime. I really want to earn some nice profit in this playoffs after my string of losses last year so I might need to bet safely and sacrifice the high rewarding high odds.

1494  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if they tried it on: April 17, 2023, 11:44:30 AM
This is impossible unless there are valid reasons that people won't rebel. Imposing this on democratic and open countries is like suicide if you are the government leader. Maybe in some countries like North Korea and China where communists are controlling it for many years already. Even strict Iran is having unrest due to issues involving rights and women.

But if this happens, obviously I will try to hide my crypto assets in hard and non-custodial wallets. And maybe I will join anti-government groups as well. Cheesy
1495  Economy / Economics / Re: Al Transforming Job Market on: April 17, 2023, 11:23:41 AM
Sooner or later AI later transformed into robots and other machines are the ones doing human jobs with less error. Densely populated countries that are relying on labor might be a problem in the next decades to come unless birth control is successfully imposed. Even programmers might be soon with lesser demand if AIs are capable of doing the programs except on sensitive matters wherein humans are needed.

With this, education and enhancing the skills and interests of our kids are becoming a must if we want them to have successful careers in the future. And before that, we better plan ahead especially when it comes to financial security before engaging in married life and starting a family.
1496  Economy / Economics / Re: Maybe Not Possible For Governments To Get Off Fiat?? on: April 17, 2023, 11:03:57 AM
Isn't local fiats beneficial to its governments? Governments want to have a grip on their countries as much as possible. So replacing a local fiat with bitcoin is very hard to imagine. Maybe restore gold as the standard form when it comes to the issuance of fiat supply per country? The United States is the most powerful country and due to its influence, it is successful in making its local fiat the international standard currency. It would be hard to drop the US dollar as an international trade standard due to politics unless you are an enemy of the US or you are on the side of China and Russia.
1497  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: April 17, 2023, 10:41:05 AM
Lol! So Henry Cejudo after 3 years of inactivity really has a 50/50 chance of winning against Aljamain Sterling? I understand Cejudo is also a legend just like Jon Jones but I wonder how many times they are capable of winning a championship fight right away after years of inactivity. I really like Sterling to lose his belt but I am now tempted to bet on him because of the odds. I really thought Sterling is a heavy favorite or at least something at 1.50. Sterling is even the slight underdog on some betting sites. Cheesy
1498  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: April 17, 2023, 09:41:05 AM
Zhilei Zhang is an Olympic medalist and his name made waves when he turned pro which is unusual for Chinese boxers. But when he continued to face bum after bum, wasting the prime years of his body, I thought he is just another prospect that did not even try to face top-ranked fighters for a chance to become a world champion. Things changed when he gave Filip Hrgovic all he could handle last year in a very close fight. Although I believe Hrgovic just had an off-night performance, it was his first fight since the death of his father. I always believe that Filip is above all these fighters (except Usyk and Fury) for years and his title shot is long overdue, thanks to his promoter Eddie Hearn (the same promoter of former WBA, IBF, and WBO champ Anthony Joshua) who continued giving him nonsense fights probably to stay him away from becoming mandatory to AJ.

So with that previous solid performance by Zhang, I doubt the Juggernaut cherry-picked him. I always have doubts about Joyce, he is too slow. But Joyce did pass with flying colors when he annihilated the arrogant Daniel Dubois and that unexpected stoppage over former champion Joseph Parker. Joyce picking Zhang was like measuring himself about how good he is compared to Filip Hrgovic (IBF mandatory) and his readiness for the possible WBO mandatory against Usyk.

Still, it was a big upset after Joyce's previous solid wins over Dubois (WBA mandatory) and Parker. As for Zhang, he is heavy-handed with quick hands and a very tough chin but mobile fighters like Usyk and Fury should be able to box him in circles and maybe stop him in the late rounds.
1499  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do women engage in crypto trading on: April 16, 2023, 10:57:02 PM
OP do you belong to a country where women are treated as second-class humans? In a normal world where women and men have the same rights, this is not even a question. Men and women are both to be educated and both can establish their own careers according to their choice. That being said, it is normal for women to engage in crypto trading just like men. This is not even a big deal in a normal country. I saw a lot of women traders here in my country and even mentors there are women as well. Thru social media, I am following a lot of women traders, especially in our local stock market where I am invested as well.
1500  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Martingale strategy in casinos on: April 16, 2023, 10:36:56 PM

milewilda you said a very good point! base bet should be very small relative to the balance, and eight failures for example in dice, this is very little, even on 2x when using a martingale strategy can be a drag over 30 reds, so the bet, If you use more than 2x, you must do with the expectation of 40 losses

All in all, Martingale is not really dependable in all of our betting activities. It's not a bad strategy especially when we are lucky as well but we better have our limits set before we even started playing with this strategy to avoid more losses. I never experienced being dragged to 30 to 40 straight losses but this is indeed very possible. I cannot imagine starting with a very small immaterial amount just so I can survive many losses using Martingale. Also, depending on a certain strategy might lose the fun of betting.
