1161  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The green shouldn't always be the reason to enter the market on: July 08, 2023, 08:02:23 PM
This is subjective since traders have their own ways of entering the market whatever feels them comfortable. I have had an online friend since 2017 and I noticed that he never changed strategies when it comes to entering his trades. He likes to enter during breakouts which most often contradicts my style.

Generally, green is a good way of entering the market since it already has momentum. But those that enter the market when it's red gain more. So it's like investing in altcoins. The higher the risk, the higher the reward.
1162  Economy / Economics / Re: What could Elon Musk be buying next? on: July 08, 2023, 03:05:03 PM
Elon Musk always has his sights on bitcoin and crypto currencies anytime. But when it comes to predicting his next big billion dollars purchase, it will be difficult especially this year since his Twitter is still struggling. Let us not forget that Twitter was already a losing company before Elon's takeover so it won't be a walk in the park especially since it is a different field from his companies. There's also Musk's huge space exploration which is in billions of dollars as well.

I believe Elon won't spend another $40 billion more or less on another venture until his current companies do well. And besides, the acquisition of Twitter is also with the help of Binance, so when its operations and income statement become positive, I won't be surprised if metaverse and crypto integrations are coming next.
1163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Crypto Passive Income on: July 08, 2023, 02:05:53 PM
Crypto exchanges are risky if we are to let them hold our coins for the long term. Its investment returns are still better than traditional banks' interest on deposits but the risk is more than its worth IMO. Maybe crypto exchanges should have an insurance system for their deposits to secure their users' funds. SAFU by Binance is a good start but it should not only stay that way. It's mind-boggling though if there are insurance companies that are willing to accept crypto exchanges or due to its volatility it would be too expensive that crypto exchanges are not willing to spend that much.
1164  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - July 29 on: July 07, 2023, 07:47:47 PM
2 years ago after fighting both, Porter mentioned that Crawford is the better fighter and is the best of the division without a doubt. But he is right, at this stage of their careers, Crawford's reflexes, strength, and mobility are not the same as some years ago which would be beneficial for Spence's close-quarters volume punches.

May I know what is your basis for saying that Crawford is not the same anymore? In my opinion, he is not the same because I believe he has improved as a boxer. He is still at his prime now, and I haven't seen a fight where he struggles. I know both fighters are different, but the quickness of Crawford is going to be his advantage here. In terms of power, both are KO artists, so there's no one who has an advantage in that area.

I haven't missed a Crawford fight since his clinical win over Breidis Prescott. How many Crawford fights have you seen in the past? I assume you watched the full fight and not the highlights? I saw Bud being less mobile, depreciated hand speed, and not throwing more combinations. The best of Bud would've finished Avanesyan earlier like 4 or 5 rounds. The guy's too slow and held his hands too high so I was expecting Bud to take advantage by constantly targeting the body and switching sides throwing combinations like he did when he fought Felix Diaz. Bud has a conservative style but he is really quick when he sees an opportunity. Bud also got hit a lot by a very slow guy and he is in danger if that was Spence's power punches that landed.

I'm a hardcore boxing fan and it's weird if you call that version of Bud an improvement over his previous fights. As an old saying in boxing, can't teach old dogs new tricks. And as Porter said, Bud won't change at 36. Anybody staying undefeated in their mid-30s onwards doesn't mean they are still in their primes like Bud and Beterbiev. Anyways, Bud has all the skills to beat anybody including Spence but it all depends now if he can still execute them properly.
1165  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: July 07, 2023, 05:38:18 PM
Unlike in the 80's, maybe the era for most of us here who started to watch boxing. And then we see those legendary fights, even trilogy just to settle the score. Now it's a totally different era. And we really don't know who is really the best in the division unless they face each other.
The world has really changed; everything now is only about the money. Well, boxing is a form of entertainment, and those who entertain the people get paid. So, it's understandable that some boxers would evade opponents they think are hard to beat. That way, they can stay in the business for a long time and continue to make money. Nowadays, pride has already been replaced with price.

And because of it, many people branded boxing as a dying sport. I for one have been disappointed a lot of times especially when fights are not being made of some fighters waited too much until their rivals are out of their prime. And yet, it is a fact that the purse involved in boxing is growing bigger than ever which means the sport is very much alive although it is becoming more of a business aspect. There were even years when Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. became the highest-paid athletes. And prior to Ronaldo's insane offer from Saudi, boxing's biggest superstars can easily become the highest-paid athletes if they fight 3 to 4 times per year.

In this division, I am confident that WBA Takuma Inoue and WBO Jason Moloney are willing to unify the belts to determine the next undisputed champion. The same with Donaire if he wins against Santiago for the WBC diadem. Not sure about the IBF though, Rodriguez is expected to become champion again and he is with PBC.
1166  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How to spot a x100, x1000 or x10000 coin ? Isn’t this the million $ question ? on: July 07, 2023, 05:09:24 PM
It is very difficult and very risky to hunt for coins that have the massive potential of growing x100 coins or even more. But maybe investing in little amounts is worth the risk. I learned a lot in the past. We should not invest in lottery coins during a bearish season. Maybe this is the time to start looking for these types of coins since the bitcoin halving is happening in less than a year.

After losing thousands of dollars trying to catch the next x100 or x1000 coins, I am staying away from it and would rather focus my investments on bitcoin, ethereum, and other potential altcoins.

1167  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - July 29 on: July 07, 2023, 01:42:23 PM
The fight is going to be on July 29!!! Only 22 days more before we witness who becomes the king of the welterweight division hehehe! We also have another superfight with Fulton vs. Inoue. This month is good to be a fan of boxing.

Also in an interview, Shawn Porter said that Spence has a huge advantage over Crawford in punch output. However, my question for boxing experts of the forum. Will this he enough to win the fight?

Shawn Porter says Errol Spence will have a huge advantage over Terence Crawford with his physical presence and his high punch output on July 29th.

While Porter does rate WBO welterweight champion Crawford (39-0, 30 KOs), he’s incapable of matching IBW, WBA & WBC champ Spence (28-0, 22 KOs) with his volume punching.

Crawford has been a pot-shot fighter his entire fifteen-year professional career, and he’s not going to change now at 36 years old.

Much of the predictions were for Crawford before this month. However, presently there are new storylines that are being argued for Spence. The skeptical me is beginning to think that this might be manipulated to end on a draw and give the promoters another chance to collect more money from a part 2.

The odds though are still favoring Crawford believing this current version is still enough to beat the bigger and stronger Spence. Although it is not the same as what I've seen some years ago, the current odds are a little close.

A draw is possible but it's still very difficult to bet on that. This event is promoted, televised, and presented by Spence's handlers so the scorecards will favor him, especially during close rounds.

I believe there is a rematch clause for both of them so a rematch is imminent unless the fight is one-sided.
1168  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin maximum price on: July 06, 2023, 09:22:33 PM
I voted for $40k because there is no $45k. But it is somewhere in these ranges I believe the highest price of bitcoin this year. Now I am starting to ponder if my projected $25k happens again. I am planning to invest more if bitcoin drops again to $25k and this price might not happen if bitcoin reaches $40k in the next weeks or a few months. I am putting my monthly DCA on hold since last month because of my new target buy price.

Anyways, once bitcoin reaches its highest price this year, we expect another dip which may continue to happen until early next year when the halving happens is nearing to happen when the price will once again start moving up.
1169  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 06, 2023, 07:21:48 PM
The Boston Celtics is now out of the race to directly take Damian Lillard. I can't wait for this Lillard saga to end and I am really hoping that the Miami Heat will do everything to take him. Because in spite of Lillard warning the other teams that he will be unhappy if he is not playing with the Miami Heat, there will be many teams that are willing to take the risk just like what the Raptors did on Kawhi Leonard some years ago which result on them crowning as champions although they did lose him after only 1 season.

Anyways, The Portland Trail Blazers continue to shop Lillard to other teams in the hope of getting better deals and leverage over Lillard's preference, the Miami Heat.
1170  Economy / Gambling discussion / Boxing: Anthony Joshua vs Robert Helenius (replacement) on: July 06, 2023, 05:11:11 PM
Robert Helenius is officially now the new opponent of Anthony Joshua this weekend. The 39-year-old Helenius just won a fight a few days ago in his native Finland. That was his return bout after losing a first-round knockout against Deontay Wilder.

A rematch is coming between former unified champion Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte this coming August 12 at the O2 Arena in the UK. Both fighters are rebuilding but the winner might get an eliminator or even a title shot. Whyte was KO'd by Tyson Fury last year for the WBC belt while AJ has a back-to-back defeat at the hands of unified champion Oleksandr Usyk.

AJ will remain a favorite in this fight but we better not count out Whyte. AJ is a completely changed fighter which is something Whyte can capitalize on. If AJ continues to try to box, not letting his hands go and Whyte is well-conditioned conditioned for a full fight then it will be a very exciting one. AJ might also get his confidence back knowing he already TKO'd Whyte when both of them are still unbeaten.

1171  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs Jermell Charlo - September 30th in Las Vegas on: July 06, 2023, 04:14:00 PM

On Canelo's future, he might make one more offer for Bivol, if he does not accept, I speculate Canelo will try to negotiate a big money fight with Benavidez then retire.

I don't think he will retire at 32 he is still in a peak of his career, boxers will only retire when his body cannot keep up anymore, boxers career span is very short with the exception of great fighters like Pacquiao, he will continue to fight he is in a division where there are a lot of prospects and I don't think he reaches the epitome of his career to be called the greatest Mexican fighter of all time or even the greatest boxer of all time.

Canelo just signed a 3-fight deal with PBC that will start with Jermell Charlo and then Benavidez and Jermall as the most potential next opponents. Canelo will be 34 after that deal. And we're not sure if he gets past Benavidez or an active Jermall next year.

Without a doubt, Canelo has ambitions of becoming the greatest Mexican fighter of all time. Provided Canelo wins all his PBC fights, he might continue his career and will look for fights that will add to his legacy including a move to cruiserweight if a champion accepts weight limit and rehydration clause. He can go back to Matchroom in order to rematch Bivol, but it won't be easy. Bivol is younger than Canelo and has a more conservative long-lasting style.
1172  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bet on live game or while game hasn't started yet? on: July 03, 2023, 09:55:30 AM
Most of my bets are made before the games start. I felt more comfortable with it since I can do my assignment by making additional research apart from my own observations.

Although live game betting is also interesting. I had big wins before especially in NBA and DOTA where I am waiting for the underdogs to take a lead before making a bet on the favorite team prior to the start. Although sometimes it is annoying when odds changed a lot real quick and you cannot bet properly. It is actually one of the main reasons why I stop live betting. So I just made bets before the games start and then relax and watch the games more focused and more enjoyable since I am not trying to catch some odds that sometimes you cannot take.
1173  Economy / Speculation / Re: Any chance to fall below $30k bitcoin ? on: July 03, 2023, 09:35:07 AM
My mind says that we might head to $35k or even $40k before another huge correction. I am still confident that bitcoin will touch $25k once again though. I haven't made my June DCA because I was busy. So now my DCA will temporarily stop as I will try to wait for a major pullback to $25k.

Anyways, it would be safer for you OP to start your own DCA. We may never know if the price we are waiting for won't happen so it's better to purchase regularly when bitcoin is either up or down. You can do it weekly or monthly depending on your capital. I am doing it monthly although there are times when I did it weekly depending on the situation too as we have our own analysis bias.
1174  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to lose weight? on: July 03, 2023, 09:25:55 AM
It all boils down to how badly you want to lose weight. It's easy to say but in reality, it is hard knowing how busy we are these days.

If you can control yourself from taking too much carbohydrates and then just drink a lot of water then it should be doable.
1175  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banks offering investing in Bitcoin on: July 03, 2023, 09:13:26 AM
It's good that banks are starting to accept bitcoin and are offering it already to their customers. In my country, there are already banks that are also offering the same while some banks are doing it thru their other platforms.

And yes OP, it is possible that governments can collect taxes from these banks and companies, and in return, they can impose fees on their customers. Just like our local stock market here. Every time you make a trade there will be fees and tax.

I can only hope though that local exchanges and banks offer competitive rates. Most here in my country has 3% to 5% spreads and that hurts a lot. And also tax should be low just like in our local stock market which is less than 1%.
1176  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do not limits your investment... on: July 03, 2023, 08:53:37 AM
I used to do the same technique last 2017. I am not basing my investment in USD or USDT or my local currency but on bitcoin. I buy altcoins to grow my number of bitcoins. I went on to grow my bitcoins into something I did not imagine. I had a bad decision though as I sold them all last 2018 during the time when it has their lowest value because my emotions were running high and I cannot sleep well already. I was starting to get scared if bitcoin drops more and it might turn worthless.

So I am starting all over again. I am trying to do the same technique but I am finding it hard but maybe my analysis becomes clearer next year or by 2025 when the market is bullish. But I am also considering other altcoins especially those that are still standing tall like ethereum.
1177  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will you invest in a project that might take years to outshine the market?? on: July 03, 2023, 08:29:56 AM
There are thousands of projects here in the crypto industry. I also made a lot of start-up investments in the past but lately, it is getting more difficult to analyze if a project will live up to its hype or not. So now I am just investing in projects that are already in the market, especially the top ones.

We have to understand that a project might have a great goal and be very useful but it also needs a community to support and investors as well to keep it alive while the product is being developed. The only project that I might invest in now is a play-to-earn. I know it is very risky but I missed playing games that have the potential to give you rewards.
1178  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does lottery rewards expire? on: July 03, 2023, 07:59:49 AM
It will be weird if winning tickets do not have expiration dates. But maybe there are countries or companies that are offering no expiries on their winning tickets? After all, it's been paid and the prizes will once again start from their lowest and then grow back every time there are no winners during draws.

In my country, our lottery sweepstakes have a 1-year expiry date which is a lot of time already. Big winners usually do not claim right away for privacy purposes. I even heard about a winner in our local lotto sweepstakes that claimed his prize nearly a year already since winning.
1179  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs Jermell Charlo - September 30th in Las Vegas on: July 02, 2023, 05:33:16 PM
Nice, as I have said in the previous thread, everyone might be caught off guard with Jermell now facing Canelo, It's all business for PBC and Charlo and Canelo himself. Perhaps he has read the backlash from the boxing community about him and PBC choosing Jermall as Canelo's dance partner as Jermall is inactive. So they look for the best opponent for Canelo at PBC outside of Benavidez and that is his twin brother Jermell. Weight might be an issue as he is fighting at 154 lbs. Nevertheless he will have all the time in the world to bulk up to 168 lbs and most likely this could be his dream fight or at least both of the Charlo wanted to fight Alvarez. But I guess majority will still favor the natural super middleweight champion in Canelo here.

Jermell can bulk up and his height is decent at 168. But still, it is 14 pounds added to his body and he is not used to fighting at 168. I also doubt Jermell has the power to back off Canelo. Canelo will be aggressive in this fight and would score a stoppage.

David Benavidez and Jermall Charlo are probably next after Jermell. I doubt there are any other popular names PBC can offer to Canelo's 3-fight deal. WBA regular, David Morrell would've been perfect together with WBC interim David Benavidez but the former's market can be a problem knowing that PBC invested a lot of money to get Canelo and it needs to make marketable fights in order to profit from the deal.
1180  Local / Pilipinas / Re: 6 Crypto Friendly banks sa Pinas on: July 02, 2023, 04:02:02 PM
