...in other words make investments with free money...

Seriously OP? I mean, this is possible because there is a chance that we can work for it especially if we have the skills. But you forgot that you are giving advice to newbies here. So how exactly are they going to invest with free money? Even very programmers or community organizers need crypto experiences in order to get hired.

The other pieces of advice are very important although I keep hearing them a hundred times on Bitcointalk and other social media platforms like Facebook. I also prefer listening and reading advice from high-ranked and well-experienced members here rather than new members spamming topic after topic from their research that are also mentioned and tackled many times here in Bitcointalk.
1182  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How is your Gambling Pattern Like? on: July 02, 2023, 03:10:28 PM
I am not tracking my gambling results because I am not depositing or withdrawing regularly. My balance is my only basis if I have reached my limit or not yet. Nowadays, I don't have a lot of free time so gambling addiction is the last that I need to worry about. I even missed a lot of games and tournaments that I usually bet like DOTA 2, NBA, boxing, and MMA.

The best way to control your gambling is to keep yourself busy. I am pretty sure that there is a lot of stuff that you are interested in. Pay attention to them or look for any activities like fixing something in your house and others.
1183  Economy / Economics / Re: Ignore this Classic Business Law or Follow Your Instincts? on: July 02, 2023, 02:18:43 PM
For me, it is still very important to fully understand the stuff that we are going to invest in. It's our hard-earned money after all so we better spend it or invest it meticulously. Investing without understanding what really it is all about is already a sort of gambling and we do not want our investments to just depend on luck.

I would rather miss some opportunities because I still stick to my principles before investing. But there are always exceptions, of course, I can probably risk and follow my instincts but only with minimal amounts that won't hurt if in case it fails.
1184  Economy / Economics / Re: Am I a bad person if I manage to avoid taxes? (Hypothetical question) on: July 02, 2023, 12:17:52 PM
We all the different beliefs. I have nothing for those people that do not want to pay taxes because of their principles. But those rich people and huge companies that are generating huge profits but still doing tax evasions should be penalized.

In my case, I came from a very corrupt country. I also felt like the tax is not worth it since our corrupt officials and oligarchs are the ones benefitting. Aside from our regular tax deductions twice every month, there is also the yearly income tax and the most painful additional tax is our Value-Added Tax which is another additional 12% of the normal cost of our goods and services.

Dame leaving Portland will be a sad thing to see, an era ending basically, he did his best there but the team never really put any decent pieces together for him to be successful, they never had even another superstar level player which is usually needed to win a title since most teams that won in the last 10 years or so have been teams with at least 2 great players, maybe more.

In the end, we are going to definitely see him leave to a team that will be fighting for a title chance, I am not saying he will leave to a team that will win the ring, but we are not going to see him go to a tanking team anymore, he is already old and if he wanted a bad team then he could have stayed with Portland. I still 100% suggest Celtics, that's an amazing fit without a doubt.

I'm sure it was a very good decision for Dame. That team did not have a chance to become a champion, you cannot make a team champion alone. It's sad to be on that team for a basketball player who can achieve great things with a good team. If he can come together with a few good players, we can see that he will be much more successful this season Smiley

I'm very glad that Dame finally is demanding a trade. After years of Dame's loyalty and embracing the city and the team, it is time for him to join a team that has real potential. Lately, Portland Trailblazers do not deserve Dame. Dame used to be called the best PG some years ago but unluckily for him, his prime years were not matched by the management with players that can help him and the team become a serious championship contender.

I'll be surprised if Dame will join Boston but indeed it will be a good fit since Tatum and Brown are also team players. Anyways, any team will surely try to acquire Dame and are willing to adjust and accommodate him.

Online casinos are just like land-based casinos, they will follow the laws of the countries they are offering services.

A lot of us here would probably say that online casinos are the ones that can be exploited easily by minor players. But in my experience in my country, I never saw once when I am in a land-based casino where the security guards are asking people for their IDs. I saw a lot of people coming in and out that seem underage. Except in Singapore wherein you need to present your passport and locals are asked for their IDs.
1187  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why is crypto trading so similar yet so different from Forex trading? on: July 01, 2023, 09:21:21 PM
There is not much difference between crypto trading and forex trading. Forex though is money representing countries while cryptocurrencies are digital currencies or tokens representing companies, organizations, platforms, and other various projects which are a little similar to stocks.

In actual trading, there are no forex platforms that offer spot trading. But we can buy foreign currencies in banks and money exchanges. In crypto trading, spot and leverage exist depending on your preferred style of trading.

^ That’s a big blow to the Nuggets. He anchored their bench and in a position where they struggle. I think if Denver really wants to repeat and get themselves in the dynasty conversation for real, they’re going to need to pick up a good shooting guard. Beal would’ve been the best prospect but he’s gone to Phoenix. Maybe they can try to get Anthony Edwards or something.

Denver will be fine. $22 million a year is just too much for them to match especially since he won't be playing as a starter unless injuries happen. Denver just signed veteran Reggie Jackson as its replacement for only $10.25 million in 2 years.

Bradley Beal or Anthony Edwards are big superstars and I doubt Denver is willing to deform its proven core while at the same time, it further exceeds them more millions of luxury taxes. I actually believe that Denver after winning the title becomes stronger with more confidence and experience. Their biggest opponent is probably maintaining its core players to stay healthy, especially Murray and MPJ.
1189  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs Jermall Charlo Super Middleweight (September 16) on: July 01, 2023, 07:32:51 PM
Hmm, it's getting weird though, but there are reports that it will not be Jermall Charlo the 160 lbs champion and who is inactive, but his twin brother, Jermell Charlo, the reigning undisputed 154 lbs who is supposed to fight Tim Tszyu who is now going to face Canelo Alvarez at 168 lbs Sept 30th.

This is now a very interesting plot and for sure there will be haters and gonna say that Jermell duck Tim, hehehe.

I also saw a post of an undisputed vs undisputed from PBC itself so this is true. 2 years inactive Jermall Charlo will be substituted by his twin brother, the undisputed 154 champion Jermell Charlo.

I don't think the odds will change with the shift of opponents. Jermell is also inactive although a year only but he needs to climb 2 divisions to fight Canelo. Canelo will be very aggressive in this fight being confident that Mell cannot hurt him.

Partly ducking in the part of Jermell but honestly, the champion took a more difficult mission and of course, he will also earn the biggest money of his pro career.

Tim as the interim WBO will be elevated as its new champion. Jermell vacating the belts also denies Crawford's huge ambition of becoming the first-ever 3-division undisputed champion in this 4-belt era. I don't think Bud has time on his side unless he continues to fight in his late 30s which will be very difficult.
1190  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who Buys Bitcoin When The Price is 100k$? on: June 30, 2023, 09:09:23 PM
I guess this was also asked some years ago. Most people that bought bitcoin at $1 sold their holdings earlier because who will buy bitcoin at $100?

Fast-forward, bitcoin is now at $30k and it even reached $67k 2 years ago. Bitcoin is also expected to reach $100k either next year or the year 2025. And I believe its growth will continue over the years. Decentralization, blockchain, and borderless transactions without the need from 3rd party companies will always have high demand.

People will continue to buy bitcoin no matter how high its value is. Personally, I will continue to use bitcoin as much as possible, especially when it is more convenient.

James Harden trade destinations: Clippers lead the pack, but Knicks, Heat, Celtics and Bucks loom
https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/james-harden-trade-destinations-clippers-lead-the-pack-but-knicks-heat-celtics-and-bucks-loom/
Los Angeles Clippers
Miami Heat
New York Knicks
Boston Celtics
Milwaukee Bucks

Where do you think James Harden will land?
I am taking the New York Knicks out of the picture. They are already strong with Brunson around, they don't want to confuse things on the point guard position.
Boston Celtics too. I don't think they need more guards. Malcolm Brogdon did too much for them and I doubt they will trade him. He is one of their gem whenever Tatum and Brown takes their rest.
Milwaukee Bucks too. They have Jrue Holiday there and luxury tax will be pouring if they consider it.

I think the best spot for him is either LA Clippers or Miami Heat. If there's a betting line for this I'd pick the two but if only one choice will be provided I think Miami Heat will be his landing point. Remember, they are making ready to take Damian Lillard if ever the Trail Blazers will trade him, well Harden is not that far from Dame.

James Harden is the biggest name in the trading block now. The odds would favor the LA Clippers because it is the team that Harden personally wanted to play. Personally, I am losing some hope in Kawhi Leonard's condition to become healthy for a full season or the playoffs.

But I will not count out the other teams, even those teams that are not on the favorable list. Many teams are willing to make adjustments for Harden. I am also hoping Harden will consider playing with Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat.
1192  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | July 25 on: June 30, 2023, 07:51:43 PM
There will be a time in the future for sure that he will have to fight in other countries like in US or somewhere in Europe, or even in the Middle East if Inoue will face an opponent that have a much bigger name than him. But not now because the organizer and promoter is more inclined to make the fight happen in Japan as it was already evident that they can generate big profits in that certain country and considering that Inoue won this fight and will take the undisputed fight, I'm also confident that they will contest the fight in Japan again instead of the Philippines where Marlon Tapales came from.

Actually, even if Inoue will face a much more popular or so-called "big name" opponent compare to him, it's not the basis of where the fight will take place. Since boxing is associated with business, big matches should only take place at proven associated with a big market.

If let's say Marlon Tapales will have a shot at a unification fight against Naoya Inoue, just in case the Japanese monster won this match against Fulton, don't expect that the Philippines might be chosen as one of the venues even for consideration.

And besides, I see that guest boxers are even more determined to pulverize the host in front of its home supporters.

So far there are no other names bigger than Inoue. So we expect his fights to remain either his native Japan which is already a very rich country and the 3rd biggest economy in the world or the United States where his promoter Top Rank is based and also the home of its partnered network ESPN.

But at least Inoue is also willing to travel anywhere. He already fought in the UK. And there are also chances of other countries hosting his fights if the offers are bigger just like the Middle East, the UK, etc.

At the moment, even if Inoue moves up to 126, he remains the biggest name. His pound-for-pound status also made him very popular. Currently, #1 by TBRB and #2 by The Ring. Crawford or Spence might take #1 whoever wins their unification. At 130 though, Oscar Valdez is a big name although I do not know if Inoue would even reach that division.

Holy shit I just read the last page and didn't understand anything. It looks like arallmuus is a secret DOTA expert also, now I know if I ever promote back to BSFL in Division 1 to watch out for him.

I thought I will try to come in here and get some tips next time around since you all seem to know what you're talking about.

I saw mentioning about regions being tough, Indonesia is the toughest? Or where?

Yeah, one of the most active here if not the best. So there are DOTA 2 questions in the tournament? Would've loved to join the tournament but it'll mess up my sleep. Cheesy

In DOTA 2 there are only 6 regions. North America, South America, Western Europe, Eastern Europe, China, and Southeast Asia. A team can have players from different regions. There are a lot of Indonesian players from different teams but unluckily there are none of them able to qualify for this Bali major which is the last of the 3 majors this season. The final event of this season will be this coming month of October, known as The International.

1194  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs Jermall Charlo Super Middleweight (September 16) on: June 30, 2023, 01:33:05 PM
     -  I think Charlo will win there, because from what I can see if he is only Canelo in terms of stamina and skills of punches, this is just my assessment. Although most of this is Canelo's advantage, but for me I don't think so. We'll find out when they're in the ring.

Although, they are both showing off and teasing each other, let's see who is telling them the truth when they are both fighting.

Maybe you lack more assessment,

1. Charlo is 160 lbs as his best weight. They are going to fight at Canelo's best weight of 168 lbs. So think about it, Charlo needs to add additional 8 lbs in his frame.
2. Charlo has been inactive for more than 2 years because of mental issues.

I think it's important to factor this two if you are going to make your prediction in this fight.

Sometimes it's just easy to say things especially when there is nothing at stake. But maybe the guy already made a bet on Pussymall. No offense though, I just don't like how Jermall is calling up Canelo for years now yet he never even entertained a fight against Boo Boo and Benavidez which are easier to make.

The assessment of a Charlo victory is just too hard to imagine now that he has become inactive. Jermall would have had a better chance a few years ago when he was active. I did not mind his so-called personal reasons that made him inactive. Who cares, he was given VIP treatment by the WBC anyways.
1195  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Teacher and Classmates Labeling Bitcoin as a Ponzi Scheme or a Scam on: June 28, 2023, 11:35:50 AM
We have different personalities and I am one of those that wanted privacy. So my advice if that was my nephew is to stop starting discussions about bitcoin. That will save him energy from arguing with those less-informed people. Besides, when the value of bitcoin increases big time, especially in the future, his family and you will be glad that there are zero to fewer people who knew that you gained a lot from bitcoin's increase in price.

But if you guys wanted to make it right and are spreading bitcoin awareness in public then I salute you.  But it's hard to debate with the teacher though as he/she might get offended and becomes personal which might affect the kid.

...And I thought that Morrell vs Benavidez is done deal, perhaps Benavidez waiting for the result of this fight and he could be next in line for Canelo next year in Cinco de Mayo, two Mexicans on their holiday week, gonna be huge.

Yes, it really looked like Morrell vs Benavidez is a done deal as even PBC or Showtime IIRC posted it. In the past, I believe that Benavidez is the only one that is willing to face anybody. It's funny though, Benavidez literally ducked Morrell upon knowing Canelo is signed with PBC. So what is Benavidez doing in nearly a year? His nearest date for Canelo is Cinco De Mayo weekend. He needs 1 or 2 fights prior to that. So is Benavidez going to stay inactive or cherry-pick weaker oppositions to preserve his big-money fight with Canelo?

All that talks about Canelo ducking Benavidez and Charlo for years by preferring to stay with DAZN. Canelo did mention before that instead of waiting for him to fight Benavidez and Charlo, why not both fighters fight each other while he is consuming his contract with Matchroom? Both Charlo and Benavidez did not face each other even if they are in the same promotion and network. So it seems like everybody becomes a duck when they become the A-side or when they have something to milk like a championship belt.

I don't know if Charlo did have the chance to fight Benavidez as David might be campaigning at 160 lbs and we all know that he has some issues with drugs and lost his belt that way. And then Charlo becoming inactive and then Benavidez get his shit together and now becoming one of the best fighter that might challenge Canelo in the future.

But if the fight against Morell is not going to materialized then I guess his career will be frozen waiting for the Canelo vs Charlo outcome.

So him and his father better be accepting the fight with Morrell to keep them busy instead of going inactive as this could be a excuse if they lost to a not so prime Canelo.

David Benavidez is at 168 just like Canelo while Charlo is the WBC champion at 160.

When Canelo became 168's undisputed after disposing of PBC's Caleb Plant, PBC/Showtime and Matchroom/DAZN were in a tug-of-war to get Canelo. Prior to Plant and after leaving GBP, Canelo wanted a per-fight basis contract so literally, he was a free agent although his next fights were with Matchroom and DAZN. Things became different when Canelo collected all the belts at 168. Both Matchroom/DAZN and PBC/Showtime offered 2-fight deals ranging from $80-$100 million in total. Matchroom/DAZN offered Bivol and GGG while PBC/Showtime offered Benavidez and Charlo.

Jermall Charlo actually keeps on calling Canelo prior to PBC's 2-fight deal offer. Can't blame him though, who would not like a shot at the biggest cash cow in boxing? Even Spence keeps on saying he wanted Canelo too although Jermall has a more realistic shot. Charlo was the WBC interim when Canelo has the real WBC belt during his 160 days. And they're only 1 division apart. Jermall, later on, started cherry-picking and staying inactive to preserve his 0 in order for his chances to remain alive in the Canelo lottery. I can't even remember Charlo calling David for a fight.

David Benavides is not so confident by canceling Morrell. If we're only for the money though, WBA interim, Morrell is a huge risk for Benavidez because it is obvious that he gets a Canelo shot if Charlo losses.

That's pretty impressive. BK8 will have more audience reach. Would love to see Emiliano Martinez wearing a huge BK8 display. And it's cool that they are more involved in charities and not just the business and profit side.
1199  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs Jermall Charlo Super Middleweight (September 16) on: June 26, 2023, 01:51:15 PM
Finally, the dream fight of pussymall Charlo comes into reality. Bad timing though as Canelo caught him inactive. But this fight is the main reason why Mall is either cherry-picking or just staying inactive to preserve his 0 which is as always attractive to Canelo.

It's crazy how Moneyricio Sulaiman is not stripping the WBC belt but most likely that his organization is being paid by PBC to treat them beyond its rules.

Anyways, I would love to see Cownelo butchering Charlo into oblivion. But maybe Canelo is not the same anymore so I just voted for him to win by decision. Rumors by the way that Canelo signed a 3-fight deal with PBC are circulating. So most likely 2 more fights in 2024's Cinco De Mayo weekend and Mexico's independence day weekend in September. So this deal is probably the reason why Benavidez opted not to face the undefeated Cuban David Morrell as it might be too risky.
1200  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are there real sports bet groups on: June 26, 2023, 01:18:12 PM
The only legit groups that I have seen are betting groups that are only sharing their own picks and bets. Nothing more, nothing less. Those so-called betting experts that are selling their picks are fakes and are only for the money. No difference between so-called trading experts that are busy convincing in selling their services rather than spending their time analyzing the market and trading.

I noticed a few people that keep hitting their picks but they are not asking for fees and there are also days that they are losing. So there's no way I am paying for someone's betting calls.
