741  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 21, 2023, 04:00:42 AM
He needs to make it his team and use every opportunity to make them realize that they throw the wrong player out.
He couldn't have done that; the Warriors made a well-thought-out decision. If only Poole had a strong playoff performance last season, he probably wouldn't have been traded. Unfortunately, he showed the opposite of what he displayed during their championship run, and that left the team with no choice but to trade him.

It seems like both sides are content, and it appears to be a win-win situation.
A single season of bad performance in the playoffs is usually not a ground for a team to trade or let go of someone they believe is a potential. There should be something not told in public by the Warriors' management. Or it could be that they saw CP3 as a golden opportunity more than Poole hence the trade.

Fans are divided on the trade but it is what it is. This is a blessing in disguise for Poole to show what he is as a player since the Wizards do not have a superstar. We'll find out soon if he is a superstar potential or just a support type of player.
CP3 has been bad at playoffs all his life, that's his curse, he gets injured during the playoffs very often as well, I think his body can't handle a whole regular season AND then the playoffs, that's way too many games.

Let me put it this way, lets assume that you play all 82 games, not like too many players too nowadays, but lets assume that you did, that's 82 games right there, then lets assume the maximum, if you play the maximum that's 7 games first round, 7 games second round, 7 games on conference finals and 7 games at finals, that would make it 28 games, so someone would have to play 110 games a season if they do that, and the minimum? That would be sweeping everyone and winning the title in 16 games, that's still 98 games a season.

Not everyone does that, but it is really obvious why they do not play that many games, players end up getting like 70 or so games even if they are healthy and just rest because nobody can play 100 or more games a season, that's just not normal.

You know, it's quite frustrating when they keep implementing that load management strategy. It might benefit the players, but what about the fans? They're excited to watch the game, maybe even booked tickets in advance to see their favorite players on the court, only to be disappointed when a player doesn't play due to load management.

These players are highly paid professionals for a reason, and part of their job is to play. While nobody expects them to get injured, it's a physical game, and injuries can happen. It's tough to accept that NBA players today seem to be getting softer. If they had to play in the '90s, I'm not sure they'd last.

Whoever came up with that whole load management idea should really be banned from the NBA. It feels like they only thought about themselves, without considering the fans who shelled out big bucks for tickets, only to be left disappointed when they find out their favorite player is sitting on the bench.

I get that there can be valid reasons for load management, but some teams are clearly abusing it, and it's not good for the league anymore. Fans are a huge part of what makes the NBA what it is today, and the league should prioritize their best interests.

Load management is indeed abused or let's just say it's been exploited and strategized by some other teams. I remember the San Antonio Spurs with their aging superstars Manu, Parker, and Duncan rested one or two especially when they were up against a top-ranked team. However, I am not that accurate since some of them might be suffering from minor injuries. But maybe it was also one of coach Popovich's strategies and his team always entered the playoffs for so many years. And I was a huge San Antonio fan back then.

I do not agree with load management. The NBA though has a lot of games. There was a time when the management considered changing it but it didn't happen. I remember when Lebron explained the essence of having a long summer rest because their bodies need to heal and recharge, especially aging players like him and CP3.

The NBA is more on physicality and it demands a lot of energy. This is why some very good players in international events cannot keep up with the long gruelling season of the NBA. Either they get injured later on or they can't remain consistent. So I also do not mind lowering the number of games in the regular season. Maybe make it 58 games which means 2 round-robins at home and on the road. This way, great players like Kawhi, AD, Bron, CP3, Zion, etc. have a higher chance of remaining healthy or at their peaks during the playoffs. It also allows the fans to watch as many games as possible since there will be zero or fewer games that are played at the same time. Just my 2 cents. Grin
742  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Edited: How To Make Bitcoin Profit - Tell To Arab People - It Is Haram on: October 20, 2023, 01:37:15 PM
Not all Arabs are Muslims, mate. I do not want to dig deeper since I am not a Muslim. One thing is clear though, bitcoin is just a decentralized digital currency like the Egyptian Pound or the Saudi Arabian Riyal. There are actually big exchanges in Turkey, Indonesia, etc. so maybe it depends on the country and its interpretations on bitcoin.

Bitcoin won't give you interest either like stock dividends. Bitcoin's value can increase or decrease just like an ordinary currency of a certain nation. If the issue is bitcoin's meteoric rise during bull runs, there were also times when its price dropped big time. The same with the Turkish Lira when its value dropped big time several years ago. If bitcoin can be mined then so is gold and other precious metals and minerals.
743  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who among you here is gambling at work? on: October 20, 2023, 01:17:27 PM
I did play on online casinos in my office before. It was the time when I did not have much to do in office. I tried everything actually. I watched movies, played games, did trades, and did some other stuff with my officemates. I have a lot of work experience and this only happened more than a year since I later realized that I should try to make myself busy with something that is work-related.

Both online and peer-to-peer sports betting during work hours are common to me since this doesn't consume a lot of time. However, there were also times when I had to watch games live online or on our office televisions because having a bet makes games more exciting to watch. But of course, I made sure that it wouldn't affect my regular output at work.
744  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Traditional business or investing in bitcoin? which one is good? on: October 20, 2023, 12:41:10 PM
Sa ngayon parang ang nagyari lahat ng savings ko monthly nakalagay sa bitcoin and some other altcoins. Meron naman balak to start another business but only after the crypto bull run or after sa 4-year cycle ni bitcoin. So sa ngayon focus muna sa talpakan at sana mag grow nga savings para kahit papaano lalaki ang capital sa business, probably 2025 or 2026.
745  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cockfighting? on: October 20, 2023, 12:29:03 PM
I consider cock fighting a game that is more traditional than digital. It has not yet evolved into technological space as people have not yet given their thoughts on it. Then again, I consider it worthy a game for software development but what then will be the simulation behind the cock when they fight and their tactics. Asking this from the standpoint of one who understands that developments requires logic.

Maybe this is one of the reason why it has not yet entered the digital space as a game
Cockfighting is a popular regional sport found in some tribal and rural settings in some parts of Asia. This game is not included in the gambling section as it is not internationalized. Moreover, the venue of this game is not selected or there is no stadium, so this game has not received any international recognition.

In the Philippines, it remained popular, especially in the rural areas where vast farms for breeding are located although many of its owners came from the cities. The sport is probably dying on the international stage since it is a form of animal abuse. Here in my country, cockfighting has its own exclusive cockpit arenas. Cockpit arenas can accommodate hundreds to thousands of audiences. The big event is called a derby where millions of dollars are in the prize pool not including the bigger money involved in betting.

So I really thought that the Spaniards brought cockfighting here. I was wrong because it was actually the first time the Spaniards watched modern cockfighting in the Philippines and they documented it. The sport is already popular even in ancient times from China to India, Persia, and Eastern Europe.
746  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: October 20, 2023, 12:09:19 PM
This is certainly sad news. This announcement was also mentioned in Teddy Atlas' podcast and he expressed the blame on the promoters. It was very much similar to what I have said about much of these boxing events being similar to scam ICOs where the promoters hype the ICO, collect the money then dump on their own customers hehehehe.

These ICO scammers do not add anything to the cryptospace and similar to some of these events, they do not add anything to the sport of boxing.

Showtime is the network trying to convince us that Tank Davis is a champion in many divisions because of all these BS interim belts he won from the corrupt WBA. In fact, many PBC on Showtime fights had some sort of WBA title at stake. They legitimized these scammy organizations and are paying the price for it. Haymon will probably manage to get a deal with another network only to leave them holding the bag for these overpaid phony champions.

Good point right there. I am sad that Showtime left because together with HBO they made legendary fights that will never be forgotten. But part of me is happy because I do not like PBC. Since Showtime made an exclusive deal with PBC, the network sucked already. PBC most of the time is all about cherry-picking and nonsense PPVs. The most annoying memory I had was the times Danny Garcia headlined garbage fights before having the balls to fight with the other big names. And then at present, it is Tank Davis fighting tomato cans. One thing is clear though, Showtime and PBC have a solid casual community and fanbase.

I heard PBC is currently negotiating with Amazon Prime. There's also the chance that DAZN will partner with PBC.

Finally, the day of the playoffs has arrived, I'm already tired of waiting for it. Today the Dota 2 celebration will continue, cheers

Yeah, finally the long rest is over. But I liked the long rest since I lost most of my bets and needed some break as well. Cheesy

Very exciting games later as we start with the upper bracket. I'll be betting on Team Spirit and Liquid. Team Spirit is the only team that hasn't lost a map while Liquid only lost a single map during the group stage.

The season favorites Gaimin Gladiators and BetBoom are already in the lower bracket. So I am betting on them as well to survive their first series of games. Hopefully, I'm winning this time.

749  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: October 18, 2023, 11:19:46 AM
Its said that Usman who will fight against Chimaev. And whoever wins will hve a title shot against Leon.

Leon is fighting Colby next and I don't think he'll keep that belt. So we're very likely to see Colby Vs. Chimaev for the next title bout, which would be perfect if you ask me.

This is a head shaking decision from uncle Dana after he promised that the winner of Belal vs. Burns would challenge Leon Edward. However, I speculate that American politics might have influenced this decision. Uncle Dana is an outspoken Trump supporter and Colby also is another ourspoken Trump supporter. The presidential election will be on November heheehe. Perfect for the UFC's campaign for Trump if Colby is the welterweight champion hehehehe.

You misquoted me, mate. It was @bittraffic's comment. It's not happening though since Chimaev is now a middleweight which means Usman is not just a late noticed opponent but he is also moving up in weight.

So yeah, it is Colby vs Leon at UFC  296 this coming December 17 in Las Vegas. Belal could be next in line. I guess this was expected even before that Colby gets his shot at the title if not for the Usman-Leon rematch.

It would be a great advertisement if Colby is a champion before the US elections next year. I believe the best of Colby is more than enough to beat Leon. The only good news for Leon here is Colby's nearly 2 years of inactivity.

Sorry, I forgot to update myself. So whoever wins between Chimaev and Usman gets to fight Strickland?  This is gonna be epic if Strickland still can make an upset against Usman nor Chimaev.  I may not be rooting for Sean but it will really fun to see him defend his belt defeating Usman or Chimaev.

Colby is very favored by Dana despite his inactivity but he may actually beat Leon, very winnable for him so yep the wait is worth it to finally find a champ that he could easily beat.

No worries mate. I doubt the winner of Chimaev and Usman gets its title shot next. Both aren't in the top 5 of the middleweight rankings and the winner might not also get a top 5 ranking. Dricus du Plessis deserves a title shot but it seems that Adesanya might get another privilege for an immediate rematch once again. But I do hope Adesanya gets a tune-up first and then he fights the winner of Strickland-Dricus. Nonetheless, Chimaev who's expected to win against Usman needs a win against a top 5 opponent first to earn his shot at the title.

I also felt like Dana likes Colby. But what is weird though is letting him become inactive long enough. So I won't be surprised if somehow Edwards will pull an upset over Colby. But prime for prime, Colby should beat Edwards.
750  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Can we create a thread/post in english here the same as Indian Board? on: October 18, 2023, 11:01:53 AM
There's no problem creating threads in our local using the English language mate. Ang importante kasi is yung topic ay fit sa local natin. Pwede nga rin same topic lang sa international lalo na pag gusto rin natin kunin ang opinion ng mga Filipino.

The same thing na rin sa mga response. It doesn't matter basta maintindihan yung point. Di ako ganun ka fluent both English and Tagalog kaya pa mekus-mekus lang ako dito mga insan.
751  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do your parents know about your gambling habit ? on: October 18, 2023, 10:49:23 AM
Most of the grown up people do not live with parents. At such, the parents are not aware about the interests and habits of individuals. Do you parents know that you gamble ? What was their first reaction towards your gambling habit ?

For grown-up people who are already living outside their parents' home, does it matter if they are gambling or not? I just don't get it. Or do you come from a place where parents still play a major role in your life decisions even if you are already a grown-up person?

Personally, my parents know that I am betting regularly, especially my father since sometimes I use my online betting account for his own bets. No big deal though, I don't have to tell them and they don't have to ask me. It doesn't matter since I am a grown-up man and I have my own source of living. I have no debts to my parents and I am betting responsibly.
752  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Regis Prograis vs Devin Haney on: October 18, 2023, 10:18:19 AM
Here is the video of the initial press conference to promote the fight,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vzY12CDWpT0

Skill vs skills, it's not power vs skill as per Regis, he said that he is training very hard so we will see what skills he is talking about here.

So there's a lot of heated words thrown against each other already and so this is going to be going to be a interesting fight.

Thanks for sharing the video. Hey @OP, we might miss this fight if we don't bookmark the schedule. I'd like to request you to add the date to the thread title. This way, it can serve as a reminder for all the fans not to miss it.

Now, about the fighters – I thought Prograis was more of a quiet guy, but it's cool to see that his ego is getting a little boost because he sees Haney as a big threat. The fact that he's already being considered for Fighter of the Year might inspire Prograis to train even harder to beat Haney and get into that conversation. Let's be real, Haney is a beast in the ring, but this new weight class and the possibility of some trash talk from Haney is likely to fuel some heated exchanges, making the fight even more interesting.

Anyone here rooting for Prograis to win? or none?.....

Thanks for the heads up mate. I already included the date in the title.

Finally, they faced each other in the conference. I am also curious about what Prograis means that he is going to outbox Haney. Or it could be that Prograis is just trying to mislead Haney. The skills are obviously on Haney's side so Prograis has to focus on his strength which is power. But Prograis needs to work on his strength because he cannot allow Haney to just hug him and then hit him.

It's funny how a lot of the loudest mouths in boxing aren't the KO artists. Guys like Haney, Mayweather Jr., Jermell Charlo, etc. And you can seldom hear KO artists like Beterbiev and Prograis initiate the trash-talking.

I already voted for Haney by decision but personally, I want Prograis to win. So I support Prograis because he is the more exciting fighter by delivering knockouts in most of his fights.
753  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is doubling your investment more probable than we think? on: October 18, 2023, 09:42:48 AM
I also have fewer expectations this time. But I guess reaching its previous ATH at least is conservative which means it is still over 200% growth to the current price of bitcoin. This is why I am also considering altcoins since reaching their previous ATHs will give higher returns although they are more risky of course. But we can just allocate a smaller portion of our portfolio to some altcoins, especially ethereum which based on its current price is more than 300% if it returns to its previous ATH and it is very likely to happen within this cycle.
754  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you find yourself doing unnecessary purchases when there is plenty.. on: October 18, 2023, 09:14:49 AM
I guess it is normal for people to buy something unnecessary when they have the luxury. No wonder we have levels of clothes and other stuff with a price from cheap to very expensive like that of Loius Vitton, etc. They have the same purpose but the prices aren't the same. And there is nothing wrong with this as long as people are not trying hard to go beyond its limits.

I remember when someone borrowed money from me. Every time I tried to collect it, there were excuse after excuse. The lamest excuse I received was when the borrower and her daughters could not pay me because they spent the money enhancing their skin in a dermatology clinic.
755  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cash out or keep playing? on: October 18, 2023, 08:44:15 AM
When I gamble in a casino offline or online, I have an estimated playing time. So for example I win big early or in the middle of the time allocated, I will most likely continue to play. So maybe I will cut my winnings in half so I can continue betting on the other half until my time runs out or if I am getting bored then I will quit early. What is clear though to most of my previous experiences, I always tried as much as possible to go home with a win after a big win; it could be 50%, 40%, or even 20% or more than 50% for as long as the winnings aren't all lost.

757  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 16, 2023, 07:25:12 AM
Lillard finally made his debut with the Bucks. They defeated the Lakers on the road by 11 points (108-97) for the Bucks. He played only 22 minutes and 23 seconds, but his production wasn't that impressive, with a 3-10 shooting performance for the whole game, which is not what we were expecting. I guess he is still adjusting to his new team, or maybe he hasn't taken it too seriously since it's just the preseason.

But there is some positive news from the team; the points are well-distributed, which means the ball movement is on point.

Lopez    11
Antetokounmpo 16
Payne 12
Connaughton   12
Portis 10

Good numbers for these players, but the Lakers aren't playing with a complete lineup; they miss their leader, LeBron, so it's somewhat expected that the Bucks will win. Lillard has a lot of blending to do with the team, but the good thing is that he was traded before the season started, which gives them more time to build that necessary chemistry. So, let's stay optimistic.  Smiley

Yeah, this is the pre-season so players can just chill. Lebron and Middleton didn't play. The Bucks also let Thanasis Antetokounmpo and Ruben Lopez play. The stars didn't play long as Giannis and AD exited early. It's only Lillard who played over 20 minutes. Probably to test how he feels and acclimatize with his teammates. Lillard had a bad 3-point shooting last night hence the 3/10

I have a feeling that the Bucks are experimenting by starting Malik Beasley rather than Pat Connaughton. Nonetheless, I believe the Bucks will do well this season. They have Lillard and their bench remained strong. Cameron Payne is another good addition to the line-up.

758  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Don’t push playing more on: October 16, 2023, 07:00:01 AM
I keep losing lately as well. Maybe I have no luck or my analysis sucks lately and it needs more research. I am into DOTA 2 nowadays since it is The International, the biggest DOTA 2 event yearly. I also tried not forcing betting every series of games but maybe I just don't have the luck. The favorite teams are also losing.

Today I have no bets but I am not sure if I can stop the urge since this event only happens once a year. Maybe I won't bet today and will bet again tomorrow. If only this event lasts for months then I would like to have a rest for a week or even more. But I guess the most important is to stay within our budget. So far my account still has a remaining balance so I can continue betting if I feel so.

Greed talaga malala. Sad but it is really crazy since alam ng mga tao na scam basta too good to be true.

Kahit nga cp ko palagi pa din makareceive ng scam messages and imagine sa over 100 million Pinoy meron talaga makuha ng mga yan. Although sana lahat ng phones meron auto filter at mapunta sa spam mga messages offering or promoting something.

Try to think what are other possible ways to earn using your skills or hobbies mate. That way, you may not feel the extra burden of having a part-time job. There are a lot of opportunities nowadays, especially online.

If you love playing games, I heard there are games that allow you to earn $2 daily. A lot of games may not stay consistent over time but there are new games that are coming as well. But I keep hearing about Flyff Universe players earning for years now. It's an MMORPG game that I do not like since I prefer games like DOTA but I might try it one of these days. Some are playing the game for their monthly bills so it could be worth it.
