Azam seems to be the right choice as the T-20 captain though I did not expect Azhar to become the ODI captain. Lets see how this move plays out.

Pakistan needs to groom young talents and find the right captain to be successful for a long time, not sure about the new players in the team, India did the right way when they were grooming Dhoni to take over as the captain he had support from senior players and former captains and then he took over the helm in every format and it was a gradual process and that is the case with Kohli too and now see how they are performing. Time will tell whether these changes will make an impact.

You may have your own different opinion, but Sarfaraz did take the team to number one in the T20s and successfully maintained that rank, so I believe that he should've at least remained the captain of the T20 side. There's a T20 world cup coming up in less than a year, and Misbah seems to be trying to ruin the team at this stage.

He even don't deserve place in T20 side, because of his slow batting Pak lost 2 match against SL and he wasn't even able to accelerate inning at the end. If someone did great in past doesn't mean he can continue same in future too.

Why you want to single out Sarfaraz Ahmed? I am not one of his fans, but we need to remember that most of the Pakistani batsmen failed during the T20 series. It is true that his scoring rate was not good during the first T20I match. But to be fair, he came to crease when Pakistan was struggling at 3/22 and he managed to build a partnership with Iftikhar Ahmed, which got Pakistan out of trouble. In the second match, he batted well for his 26 runs (made from 16 balls) before a perfect delivery from Hasaranga ended his innings.

Yes.. T20 is a shorter and more volatile format and therefore we had a higher proportion of upsets in this format when compared to the ODIs and Tests. But at the same time, if you want to win a T20 match, then you need to have T20 specialists such as Kieron Pollard and Mohammed Shami in your team. A few players from relatively smaller nations, such as Sandeep Lamichhane of Nepal and Rashid Khan of Afghanistan have emerged as T20 stars over the years.

And this is why I was disappointed with the ICC's decision of limiting the T20 world cup to just 12 teams (I am taking about the main tournament and not the qualifying phase before that). Since this is a format in which the minnows have the greatest chance of making an upset or two, they could have allowed at least 16 teams to participate in the main tournament.

Well... perhaps you are right regarding this. Babar Azam will be the captain of T20 squad and he has 12 months before the world cup. Pakistan needs to win this world cup, or at least finish as the runners up. They are currently the no.1 side as per the ICC T20 rankings and they are expected to perform better in this format when compared to any other formats. But a lot of challenges remain, and the reputation of the Pakistan team as the chokers in world cricket is not going to help matters much.

Do you really think that it was intentional? Sarfaraz Ahmed is a good player and it is sad to see him targeted like this. Everyone will be having their ups and downs and it is not a justification to make jokes on their behalf. If this is a genuine mistake, then PCB did the right thing by apologizing. Hopefully Sarfaraz can regain his batting form, as the pressure of captaincy is relieved.

Pakistan needs to leave all these distractions aside and prepare for the upcoming series against Australia. The first T20 match will be played on 3rd November, and they badly needs to win this series to keep their morale high. It is not going to be easy, and Australia is in very good form after the return of Steve Smith and David Warner. And they will be having the home advantage as well.

There is no need to get too negative after the recent series loss to Sri Lanka. Before the T20 series, Pakistan had won 39 out of 43 T20 matches and they were the no.1 T20 team according to the ICC rankings. Even now, they are the top ranking T20 side (comfortably ahead of the second placed England by a good 9 points) and their record stands at 39 wins out of the 46 recent matches.

However, it is going to be tight against Australia. But Australia seems to be in a lot of trouble as well. Apart from Steve Smith, none of the other batsmen are in good form. Even during the Ashes, it was the one man army of Smith which guided them to series win. Pakistani bowlers need to think how they are going to tackle Smith. If they can do that, then it's going to be their series.

There seems to be a hell lot of difference in personalities of both the players (Babar looks much more confused all the time than Kohli) but we'll see.
