Since the beginning of the World Cup, we have discussed that West Indies could be the favorite as the host nation in this World Cup tournament. West Indies have multiple performers so if a reliable player is out, then all the other players do well. New Zealand had West Indies in their group Naturally we thought that New Zealand would be the group champions from this group and West Indies would secure the next round from the second position but look at the reality. New Zealand exited the group stage before the West Indies qualified for the quarter-finals.  

I thought before and still think that West Indies are very strong team in T20 format. Especially since I watched the T20 World Cup final between West Indies and England, I became a complete fan of the T20 format. There was an all-rounder named Carlos Brathwaite in that match who hit four sixes in four balls in the last over to give West Indies the title. But this time he is not included in the team for the tournament, maybe there are more experienced and best West Indies team than him. The West Indies team has jointly organized the World Cup with the United States as hosts. The West Indies team may have participated in this World Cup as one of the favorites with the advantage of the home ground.

We didn't give much importance to Afghanistan before the start of the World Cup tournament but this Afghanistan now has a good enough position in the points table.

All the Afghanistan bowlers are currently in form. In the few matches they have faced so far against the opposition, their team's bowlers have played a major role in their victories. The fast bowlers of the Afghanistan team are also bowling well and the spin bowlers are also bowling well which in a word is a consistent performance. The understanding between all the players of the Afghanistan team is getting better in this World Cup due to which they have strengthened their position by playing well.

I was listening to the "Club Prairie Fire" podcast and i guess Michael Vaughan mentioned that it was $50 Million, maybe i misheard, but even $15 Million is a lot for gate money.

LOL.. if it was actually $50 million (from just one match), then the ICC will be hosting all of their major tournaments in the US. Attendance was around 34,000, and the gate collection was $15 million (which equates to around $440 per ticket). Given the fact that majority of the tickets were priced at $300, this number sounds reasonable. And there was a lot of coverage in the American media for the first time (especially after the Americans managed to defeat Pakistan). So overall, it turned out to be a bright decision from the part of the ICC to make US the co-hosts.

Financially, may be a good decision but that specific fixture generates a fair amount of money anyway. Didn't some premium seats priced at $2k-$17k?

IDk much about coverage but they did read the scorelines and results like they do in baseball. We have to wait and see how it pans out but from a spectator's point of view, I didn't enjoy much and missed many matches.

This time, if the Pakistan team will not qualify for the Super 8s then they must have to play the qualifiers round in 2026 for the T20 World Cup but I have a question.

In 2016, when a T20 World Cup was played in India then on that time, the Pakistan team was also out at group stages but after that, there was no World Cup for the next 5 years, as in 2017, there was a Champions Trophy and in 2018 there was no World Cup and in 2019 a ODI World Cup took place while also no World Cup in 2020 but the question is in 2016, India went into the Semi-Final and lost to it, then in 2021, Pakistan made their place into the Semi-final while India has been out from the group stages.

In 2021, Pakistan went into the Semi-final while India was out of the group stages. After that in 2022, India played no qualified round because they were out from the last World Cup but then you say, they have done good performance in the 2016 World Cup, then if Pakistan did not qualify for the playoffs of 2022 Pakistan had to play this World Cup qualifies round but now when the Pakistan went into the last World Cup final and considered as runner up of 2022 so what if they gave bad performance in 2024 and have to play 2026 qualifies round. Why?

In short, India played one Semi-final and out the next World Cup group stages but they have not played qualified for the next but on the other side, a team that played one time Semi-final and one time final so why if the have to play qualify rounds if they would not qualify into the super 8s

Pakistani team performance is very bad in all formats. Pakistani team bowlers should out Canada team at 60 score but that was hard win against Canada.  I like winners and I don't like Pakistani team because they are losers and they are playing for himself. No player is playing for the team ,Babar azam captaincy is not good and she should resign from the captaincy after the World Cup. You are right But I think Pakistan didn't play a qualifier for the 2026 World Cup because in the ICC T20 Rankings Pakistan team is in seventh position and the Top 8 teams including Pakistan will direct qualify for the World Cup 2026. Pakistan is a very strong team in twenty cricket played most semifinals 6 times in World Cup history and its the first time for Pakistan ruled out in the group stages of the World Cup. Pakistan team made some changes and got out old players like Ifthkar Ahmad and Imad Wasim from the team and I think Muhammad Rizwan is also out from the Pakistan team in the twenty formats because his strike rate is very low and includes some aggressive young talented players in the team. I hope the Pakistan team after some changes becomes the world best team in twenty cricket.

From gate revenue's perspective yeah but not sure about the kind of Pitches New York rolled out and the weather situation in Florida is suitable for spreading the game.

Sure we did get some low scoring thrillers but it's too much when every game is low scoring affair as it's the opposite of the absolute road and both are extreme and bad for the game if it's keep popping up in every match.

But in yesterday match with Uganda squad, their performance was unbelievable and wonderful I know now this performance was useless. First New Zealand bowlers cleared out the wickets of Uganda batter very fastly and restrict them at low quality defeating target of total 40 scores. Just this batter Kenneth Waiswa was succeeded to collect above 10 plus scores (11) otherwise resting batters was lost their wickets just for fewer scores. Congrats New Zealand sqaud for this useless victory, in batting inning, 40 scores defeating target of Uganda sqaud was fastly achieved by New Zealand batter in 5.2 overs. Devon Conway displayed amazing performance with picking 22 scores and unbelievable shots. Some more matches were played today but most of them were finished without any outcome because of heavy rain.

From the day when Pakistan and England played the final match of the 2022 World Cup, these both teams downfall started from there. Not only in this World Cup, at the last ODI World Cup, their performance was too poor and we all have seen what happened to them both, even England could not come up to 8 but in the last match, they won it by chance and came up because top 8 teams will be a part of Champions Trophy 2025 which is going to be hosted by Pakistan.
However, at the same time, the Pakistan team's performance was too bad from that time until today. Check out any series that they played, and you will find either they lost it or won it with very struggle even against small teams.

I think this time we all have seen Saim Ayub's performance in this World Cup, Now have to give chance to him in the next series and try him in ODI because in this World Cup he is playing fully like a ODI match also we can try him in the test too but he was also not good there as we have seen his performance in the test match against Australia on 2023 December series. Now, I think they have to check him on the next PSL and in different leagues because he cannot play in green jersey or any international match.

Pakistan must face up to hard truths of modern T20

The point is that Pakistan team selection wasn't best for this World Cup as the selectors fail to understand that different players are suited for different formats of the cricket.

I agree that West Indies looked like a dangerous side at the very start of the tournament. Every player in the WI batting lineup is a match-winner, and we have seen it many times in T20 cricket. Rutherford single-handedly took the game away for NZ. New Zealand was very much in the game, but they lost back-to-back wickets and the match. New Zealand should have won against WI to make things more interesting.

The Afghanistan team surprised me the most in this year's T20 World Cup. They looked like a different team and won comprehensively against New Zealand. No one was expecting that Afghanistan would be the team which qualifies for the Super 8 from this group.

If it was ODI cricket then I wouldn't have considered West Indies as favourites, because in ODI games you usually don't bat against the batter, you have to be patient and stay on the wicket till 50. But since it is only a 120-ball game, a West Indies player can change any game in an instant. West Indies have included some veteran players in their squad which has added to the strength of their team. This team is a balanced team as it has good quality bowlers good quality batsmen and most of the time great fielding saves several runs which is a big advantage for the team. West Indies will be one of the favorites to win the World Cup trophy.

^^ Windies might be the favorite in this edition of WC due to home advantage and power hitting but we shouldn't forget that this is the same Windies team with more or less the same outfit, that failed to qualify in the Last T-20 WC and ODI WC.

That is not possible. Pakistani Cricket board will shuffle the batsmans and bowlers and we will see a huge change in the performance of Pakistani team . I Know Pakistani team played very bad I last 2 to 3 months . They lost two series and then they lost the position in super 8. I think, Pakistani team can improve their performance and they will focus on their mistakes and they will emit it . Imad Wasim admitted his mistake against India when he didn't hit and only made 2 runs in the over. Then Imad Wasim out and Pakistani team lose the match due to great bowling of Bumrah. I think New Zealand team is hard working team and they will and they will improve and no new team take the position of both teams ,Pakistan and New Zealand.

You are right,  but we can't give the credit to one or two players because when team wins the match whole team is appreciated and whole team wins due to whole team. No single can win to the game or tournament and I think, in the last match Afghanistan, whole team played very bad especially all bowlers because Afghanistan team strength is bowling and they could not win the match due to their batting. We saw a huge pump in the Afghanistan cricket due to great bowling. Five years ago , Afghanistan team were silent and nobody wanted to talk about Afghanistan team because they are mental players and they are hitters but cricket is a game of mind and that is not game of strength but that is game of technique.

Does any one remember Joe Burns? He played a total of 23 test matches for Australia, with the last match occurring in 2020. Now he has decided to represent Italy (Burns recently became an Italian citizen, as his grandfather was born in that country). In the final of European Qualifier A, he managed to hit 108 not out from just 55 balls, as Italy made a massive total of 244/4. They won the match by 160 runs against Romania. It needs to be seen whether Italy will qualify or not, as they need to finish among top-2 in the regional final.
