Such a league would be good for Saudi Arabia given the way they are approaching the sport. Interested in investing in the sport and the potential of cricket in their country regionally".  

If Saudi Arabia has taken the initiative in this regard then surely they will implement this concern. And the cricket world will enjoy another IPL-like T20 tournament.

There is no doubt now we have a young crown prince who is already involved in many controversies and trying to change image of this kingdom and himself but it's never been easy because right now if any country wants to have the biggest franchise league in cricket it's not possible without India, and they are already announces their players never been involved in this league so most chances this could be not going to happen even if we have something this could be not near the IPL, but they can achieve some better figures due to their huge influence in few countries like they have in soccer and also their huge investments can do something.

But I guess this could be not near the IPL anyhow and ICC also can't do anything mean they will never be direct party in this case with they have no enough power to force other boards for this franchise league in near future.

Right now, money or profit is no problem for the Gulf region countries because they are investing huge funds for the change of mindset about them after having good experience in soccer clubs around UEFA now they are investing for their own leagues and as Qatar organize soccer world cup things are completely change competition is on for few countries to organize events like this which is surely not easy just because of this now Saudi Arab are having intention to bring cricket in their limelight even this is not easy task but most chances we will have one of the best league from their side which will also give huge profit and salaries to players.

First matches of the ACC Men's Premier Cup 2023 were played today and Nepal and Hong Kong emerged as victorious. A total of 10 teams are taking part in this competition, and out of them only 2 teams have native players in their squads (Nepal and Malaysia). The winner of this championship will qualify for the Asia Cup ODI tournament, which will be held sometime later this year. I really hope that Nepal would win this tournament, as they have some promising young players like Sandeep Lamichhane, Rohit Paudel and Kushal Bhurtel.

That is why he is trying to diversify the economy. And unlike Qatar, Saudi Arabia is not exactly swimming in wads of money. They do have a large population of natives to take care of. Qatar has only 300,000 citizens, while KSA as per the latest census is home to 25 million natives. That explains why Saudi Arabia is more accommodative of the outside culture when compared to Qatar. But only time will tell whether their big plans will get realized or not.

@Patrol69 it’ll be a clever move because the new captain will only be there for formality, because we all know that MSD will be taking all the decisions on the field. Furthermore I’m baffled as to why are CSK bowler’s doing this, and it reminds me of the previous match fixing scandals which rocked the IPL hopefully I’m wrong and the bowler’s aren’t doing this on purpose.

It can be said that Saudi Arabia is starting to make proper use of its natural resources. So far they have not taken any big initiative. Despite being financially prosperous, they did not see any such action. But now they have learned to realize that not only depend on natural resources. They are now competing with the big countries of the world. As a result of their revolutionary steps, we are witnessing major changes in the working environment today. I actually have a little negative take about this. I did not like them relaxing the rules just for Western people to visit their country. If you tolerate everything, you stand for nothing.
We have seen in the past that they have stood very strong about their rules and regulations. I would have liked for them to stay that way. But it is also understandable why they did this.

Are you saying that the IPL will penalize Ms Dhoni and may force him to sit outside for slow over rate ? or are you saying that CSK will be dropping MS Dhoni as their captain permanently because of the bowlers he has. Either way, Ms Dhoni has a huge fan base in Chennai and i really doubt they would force him to sit out due to slow over rate as it will irritate the fans as we all want to see him bat and in his last few years of his Cricketing career.

They are always going to be a very important country economically in the whole world. We all know that the big countries all around the world are always buying oil from them. And previously that’s why they have always been very important economically. But now as they have made the country open to visit for people all around the world, they are also earning money in that way.

Crude oil consumption has reached a peak and now the exports from Saudi Arabia are declining. The prices are struggling in the $80-$90 per barrel range, and this is despite all the production cuts being implemented by the OPEC+. Saudis are more intelligent when compared to some of their neighboring states. They don't have any other natural resources apart from oil, and they know that they will be in trouble once the EVs replace gasoline and diesel driven vehicles. But then the question arises. Can this big spending on cricket be justified? Without the Indian players, I don't know how they are going to make any sort of profits.

This is a good thing for the associate nations players, in my opinion. They will be able to improve their performance and also use that experience when they play for their home country.

Of course, BCCI is going to ban their players from taking part in various tournaments that does not make them money directly. That’s because they think of themselves as some premium product that everyone has to buy to see.
