Cilic is out, and it was a routine for Thiem, he was a much better player today then before US Open, if i may say that think that RG made exception to have Thiem and Djokovic in the same part of the draw, and they will be semi-final partners, cannot wait for that match, will be very interesting to see where is Thiem right now, he kicked-out Djokovic last semi-final, and now seems that he is better than last year, and Djokovic is not that good as last year
Be careful Nadal is in great shape too. Like Thiem, he just won his first match in the tournament in 3 sets and 2 hours (against Gerasimov) Tomorrow Djokovic will play his first match in the contest (against Mikael Ymer)

Surprising this is the final grand slam event of 2020. And what a shame since Roland garros should of been back in July but since the circumstances forbid it being til after the summer. I liked the promotional footage they put infront of the event on the tennis channel. "The sport will endure as we move on from point to point during tough times..." Very inspirational for those who watch sports to pass the time until the circumstances we are all in has indeed passed. It has a strange ambience surrounding this tournament most certainly. https://www.thestar.com/sports/tennis/2020/09/27/lucky-few-french-open-fans-weirded-out-by-near-empty-roland-garros.html

Medvedev is out which is a huge upset for the un-seeded Fucsovics and also Monfils is out also so two top seeded players out already in the first round. Nadal looks in fine form as he was training hard for this tournament however I still think Djokovic is the one that wants to prove something after what happened at the US Open so it will be interesting to see how he goes in his first match.

I saw the statistics at the start of the match that Medvedev from 2017 always lost in the first round of the French Open, I didn't think that would happen again this year but the results were repeated, quite disappointing. Serena Williams advance to second round, She only had a tough match in the first set against Ahn.

Did anyone of you guys check the odds and put a bet? Nadal is the obvious favorite followed by Djokovic and Thiem. Who do you guys think will upset them? Tsitsipas is very inconsistent will Schtwartzman and Zverev but comes short. It will boils down to Nadal and Djokovic again? The odds is still attractive, but I haven't put any bet as of yet.

Nadal has an open road to semi-final, with Zverev there, do not think that anyone can kick him out Djokovic has an open road to semi-final as well, with only major player there, if we can call him that on clay, is Khachanov Tsitsipas, Schwartzmann, Wawrinka (would not count him out), Shapovalov are in Thiem line to semi-final, and who reach the match will have to face Thiem in QF, and then Djokovic will probably wait in semi-final Zverev does not have reputable players in his draw part as well, but he is not that good on clay, and i presume that he will be out during the tournament

Djokovic will have Matteo Berrettini in QF and then Medvedev in semis. Another possibility is Tsitsipas in semis as well. But we all know why Nadal is the favourite here, he is nearly unbeatable in French Open, 93-95. I think it will only be Djokovic who might be his top competitor.

Yes Djokovic seems to be very strong this year, he beat his first opponent Mikeal Ymer in 1h38 only (6-0, 6-2, 6-3)

If you think that Nadal will win the French Open (what I also think) than I would suggest to place a bet on freebitco.in. There you can get an odd of 3.03 for Nadal to win the title! Odd for Thiem to win is at freebitco.in around 2.75.

Watched Tsitipas and Rublev today, they both had a tough time adjusting to RG clay after playing Hamburg final just 2 days ago. Both went 2 sets down and managed to turn their matches. I am very glad they did it since I expect great things from both of them and it would be a shame to lose them in round 1. I expect much better performances from them in next rounds after they had few more days of training and rest.

If that is true, those odds have some real value. I guess liquidity is probably low if the odds got slanted that much in favor of Thiem. Did not even know they had a sportsbook

That's right the odds are not fixed and the pool is shared for all bettors who placed a bet on Nadal. I believe early bettors earn more percentage of the pool but its not as much as to placing a fixed bet with one of the sportsbooks. I think the only danger to Nadal not winning is Djokovic and Thiem, I do have a small bet on Thiem like I do every year on the French Open.

But I'm sure if will change as we get closer to the finals. But if got in early, of course higher odds for you. Thiem is next against J. Sock, not expecting any upset for now. Serena and Halep (1) will also be in the court this day. I need to check the schedules though, so that I can watch. So it's a 5 setter win for Tsitsipas and Rublev? Damn, but yes, probably adjusting on clay court.

I am starting to think that she won't win another slam. She has stumbled quite a few times in the later stages of finals recently, and she is also showing uncharacteristic vulnerabilities as in the first round here. The second set was easy, but the first really was not. I think the problem is mainly mental, but obviously with each tournament the physical side becomes harder as she nears retirement.

Odds are indeed not fixed, but you get indeed a time weight multiplier, which makes it interesting. I just checked and the odds for Nadal to win are now @4.6. Just crazy! Okay, the odd will probably drop a bit, but keep in mind that these bets will be closed before the quarter finals.

We have some very interesting result from French Open as Azarenka US Open finalist lost in straight sets against 161th ranked player Nadal Thiem and Schwartzman thrash their opponents won respective matches in straight sets Zverev is stuggling as he is in 3rd set with 1 - 1 on board.

Watched almost a whole match between Ruud and Paul Tommy today and I must admit there was some good tennis played in this one but always just from one player. One of the strangest matches I ever watched, it ended with 6:1, 1:6, 6:3, 1:6, 6:3 for Ruud (bold). I am specifically targeting these players I see as "surprise winners" for hopes to cash in on some nice handicaps in the later stages of the tournament but so far the matches I have seen did not gave me much confidence.
I watched Tsitsi, Rublev and now Ruud all great clay players which could end up far in the tournamnet and all of them lost 2 sets in the match. I am expecting more from them, especially from Rublev who played some extraordinary tennis in Hamburg.
