After 46 yours of owning the team the Buss family has decided to sell their majority share of the Lakers. The new owner will be the guy that already owns the LA Dodgers. https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/45539931/buss-family-agrees-sell-lakers-mark-walter-sources-sayI think it was just a matter of time this would happen. The franchise has such a high evaluation, everybody would think about taking this money. Supposedly Jeanie Buss will stay the "team's governor" in the foreseeable future.

10 Billion USD evaluation for the Lakers, IT is one of the best time to sell because of Luka and King still in the team. Same move that what the previous owner of Dallas did. I think, many teams will do the same in the nearest future. selling your shares but you still have the say on the franchise. Looking forward for the Lakers roster this coming season.

WOW. 10 Billion is crazy. The valuations of NbA teams has gone absolutely nuts in the last 20 years. Looks like I’ll never be able to afford the Sacramento Kings. I guess I should’ve held onto my coins. The Lakers are in the final year of a dynasty, so Jeanie got out at the right time. Congrats to the Buss family.

Buy and HODL Bitcoin if Bitcoin reach at $1m per coins then maybe you can afford Sacramento Kings But kidding aside, Lakers deserve that value since there historical success tell everything plus they got 17 championship which is a lot that's the reason Lakers franchise is so expensive. Also Lakers is global icon and the new owner could take advantage on its popularity to gain more money from the franchise. This is also good deal from Buss family since somehow they manage to retain their position and still the governor of Lakers.

How time goes by, still remember watching the Lakers when they won the championship in the 80's with Jeanie's father. Now, she takes over and still continue to lead the Lakers in the Kobe and Shaq era till the last championship with Lebron in the bubble. I guess it was about time that the Buss relinquished the majority of the Lakers. And it looks like the Lakers will still be in the good hands as the new majority owner has another team in the city. So congrats to him and the legacy that they left as owners of the Lakers will be cherished by fans.

This is bad news for Pacers fans. Rick Carlisle says Tyrese Haliburton a game-time decision for Pacers in Game 6 vs ThunderIt looks like there’s a strong possibility he won’t be able to play in Game 6, arguably the most important game for the Pacers and yet he might be out. With that, I seriously doubt they’ll be able to extend the series. As much as I want to back them to win, I’m giving up if Haliburton doesn’t suit up for Game 6.

First, I would think $10 billion is way overpriced for an NBA club, even if we are talking about the Lakers. But then I came across the information that now the average cost of NBA clubs is $4,6 billion. By the way, 25 years ago, you could own an NBA club for $300-400 million.

After that long years they've decided to cashout decent amount of profits, for me it's a timely manner that the Buss family let go the majority of their shares, they can venture to new businesses using that profits from taking care of the company. Let see if how the new management will work with the team and how they'll be able to push seeking for another title next season. It's a tough call for Rick Carlisle knowing the value of Hali for the team, though it's also a concern for Hali's future if in terms of capabilities the management will risk him, let see if what will the decision if he'll be playing with limited minutes or he'll be bench and let his teammates play and take care of the business.

There’s already a lot of money now on the league due to social media exposure which makes the sports in spotlight globally. The salary of each player is also increasing so it’s not surprising that value of each NBA club will fluctuate on insane level after 25 years. The popularity of basketball rapidly increased all over the world that even EU and other region are already importing NBA players to boost their team while in the past they don’t care much about basketball since they focus on football.

Haliburton still wants to play, but if the management decides otherwise, he can’t do anything about it and will just have to watch from the sidelines. Although he didn’t score much just like Siakam, his presence and playmaking still make a difference. Not to mention, he’s the one taking clutch shots. But if he forces himself to play through his injury, I don’t think he can deliver what Indiana needs and worse, it could negatively affect their overall play. With Haliburton’s condition, I think their chances of getting the ring have become slimmer.

He draw the main defense of the OKC so his presence alone is already a big help for Siakam and other player play aggressively. He is the main reason why Pacers is winning most of their match aside from his clutch 3 points he is always productive on last quarter which is crucial on all their comeback game. I doubt anyone on Pacers can replace his role as the best closer on last quarter of the game.

The last game of the NBA season is potentially upon us. If the Indiana Pacers can't fend off the Oklahoma City Thunder for another game then tonight is it. Sad to see it, but honestly for me it ended when the Timberwolves and the Knicks lost. I hope we see a little more star power next season, but I have a feeling we're witnessing a changing of the guard and the stars we've been watching for 15 years are about to take a backseat to a bunch of young no names. Makes you wonder who the next LeBron, KD, & Steph will be.

The NBA finals may end tomorrow. OKC is leading the series 3-2. I don't know how true it is, but I read a story on Twitter that Indiana will be playing tomorrow's game without Haliburton. Haliburton is in a very mediocre performance, but even if he starts the game without Haliburton, Indiana will definitely want to use him in the coming minutes. Tomorrow is a must-win game for Indiana, and I think Indiana will win this game and take the series to the last game.

Owner of LA Dodgers, LA sparkes, Cadillac f1 team that is joining in 2026, and Chelsea. That is a hefty list and adding Lakers to that is also a great addition without a team. These teams rarely ever lose valuation, in years like covid maybe, but in most cases teams increase in value over time and make for a great investment.
Like how Mark Cuban, the most famous one, spent less than 300 million to get Dallas, and then sold it for 3.5+ billion dollars later on. So that is proof that it is not a bad investment at all. I am not saying that is the best one by far, of course there could be better ones, there ARE better ones, but this one is a fun business, while also making some good money from it at the same time as well.

Wow, the sale of the Lakers is major news. At first $10 billion sounds like a very high number but considering inflation, the value of the dollar and the growing sports industry, these numbers start to make sense. The Lakers are one of the few NBA franchises almost guaranteed to be profitable. When you think about the Celtics being sold for $6.1 billion just two months ago, the difference between the two is remarkable.

It was reported that he has a strained right calf and that he's questionable for game 6. However, There's also a report that he may push through even if he's not 100% healthy. I think any player who will have the chance to win it all after a 25 year franchise drought without making to the finals. I personally think, with or without Hali, the OKC might going to end the series in game 6. Hali played terribly in game 5. I'm not sure if it's because the injury was already there early in the game or it's was just an awful night for him. Now that he's injured, I don't think he can contribute that much. Honestly, the Pacers are in a really really bad situation right now.

That is right, it's written now in the history that this is the most expensive sale of a sports franchise. Good for both former owner Buss and the new owner, Mark Walter. We might see some acquisitions from other sports too that their franchises are going to get sold for a higher price. This is where it is going and if the teams like Celtics and the others will surely become more valuable in the next years.

Indeed it is a really huge sale!! It must be a record sale of a team in NBA history at the same time. Now I'm wondering what the next steps are going to be by the new owners. If they have vision they can make this team great again. I want to win the Pacers in Game 6 as well, but Haliburton will not play or at least not in his usual self and will not show up putting all-star stats, I'm afraid the Pacers fans will watch the opposing team celebrating on their home court.
If Haliburton really fails in playing in Game 6 then we both might get disappointed at the end of the game tonight. He played a huge role in many wins during the year. His injury status still looks doubtful.

Lebron is retiring, LA recently acquired Luka which means they believe that Luka will be the new face of the franchise and soon will worth higher than $10B. I just hope for the best on LA franchise and Mark Walter as new owner but honestly this is a huge risk to take. They should find a great Center player!

His injury status still looks doubtful. On ESPN's official website, this is what is appearing: That phrase "every intention" is a big one. He wants to play, but it still depends on the doctors on whether they will allow him or not. This calf injury might dictate the outcome of Game 6. If he will not play, they might lose despite playing on their home because that might affect their morale. I guess the best option for this one is to let him play limited minutes only, and let McConnell have more minutes because he played really well this series. I would consider that as an option if I'm Coach Carlisle, but who knows. He might be cooking other things that we as fans don't know. Anyway, I hope that he will play in Game 6.
