This is a very bad decision for their team to risk their star player health that will cost his total career in the future. He will received negative criticism regardless if he will play or not if they lose the game so he should just sit on the bench and trust his teammate.
He can also just play on crucial time like 4th quarter and very minimal minutes every quarter to lessen his foot pressure.
You have just ended Haliburton's career there if he does that even by force lol. He tore his Achilles and not just a simple foot pressure. He might not even stand properly the whole season. And even let's say he can play, the crucial time is the most physical part of the game, as every ball possession is a must to score. It’s sad that they haven’t learned from what happened to some star players in the past, remember Durant and Thompson? Both were rushed to play even though they weren’t 100%, just to help their team. The result? They reinjured themselves and ended up missing the following season. That kind of gamble isn’t worth it if the long-term damage is that severe. Maybe the player also pushed to return, but at the end of the day, it’s the management that should make the final call. They’re the ones who invested in the player’s future, so they should be more careful in protecting that investment.

I think they are oblige to play even when hurt since its already in the finals, if its just a regular season they will not let him play, but my concern is that why would he's doctor give him a clearance if he/she knows what will happen, that its worse that could end the career of Hali, they should be more concern for long term, since hali still young, although we might not know if the there could be more opportunity in the future, since they already traded one of their core player. Should the decide if the injury is leaning to something worse player will not be allowed?

I believe Haliburton is the one who push to his limits by keep playing despite the risk. He is looking forward for this very rare opportunity to be on finals with 1 win away. It’s just too bad that one mistake cause him a lot that worsen his injury.

Last night was the Mavericks-Lakers game at the NBA Summer League. Many people wanted to compare Flagg and Bronny. But what I don't understand is why they're comparing Bronny to Flagg. Flagg is a superstar prospect, while Bronny is just an average player.
Here are the stats from last night's game:
Flagg: 10 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals Bronny: 8 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists

I received the notification on my phone about this, but I sincerely do not have any interest, so I didn't open it. No disrespect to Bronny, but a big part of the reason he was there was his father. He has not proved anything yet. Flagg, on the other hand, is a rookie, and we don't know yet what he can contribute to his team in the NBA, but still, I believe he will be like Paolo Banchero, who will lift his team up. I think the NBA just wants to make a rivalry out of them, but the truth is that they are doing it wrong. Lebron is a great star without any doubt, but they don't need to use his son to gain audience. There are so many good young players today.

That doesn't make sense. NBA won't create something like that in general and in any case involving Bronny just to gain audience. Fair enough, Bronny is there because he's still on his rookie season and entering sophomore the next season. The NBA Summer League scheduled was formalized way back months ahead and no one even knows if both Bronny and Flagg will play on that game. There's no rivalry or something that the NBA do to gain audience. Bronny is the famous Lakers player there while on the other hand, it's Flagg for the Mavericks. Expect a great audience. It's just that fans compared them which should be out of the context since the real competition was on the actual season. Just take it with a grain of salt.

Well, Bronny can be called a stable player, considering he performed about the same way in the summer league last year. As for Cooper, I was surprised by his stats. More specifically, he made so many shot attempts in this game, which is unusual for a rookie.
He’s been given the green light, and rightfully so.. he’s not just any rookie; he’s the number 1 overall pick. Most likely, he’ll be a starter right away, and this is the perfect time for him to get used to the NBA style and really familiarize himself with the system. as for Bronny, man, I hope he gets more playing time next season and becomes more stable.. it’s tough seeing him constantly criticized, he’s clearly living under the shadow of his father, and that kind of pressure isn’t easy to carry. The downside for Cooper is that he is not playing against NBA stars at the moment, he is playing against Summer league players. And he is not at high school or college anymore and even at summer league level he got some trouble. People are saying "he will get used to it" but what is he even getting used to right now? He played high school and college before, and he is playing at g-league level players mostly, or end of the bench players for nba, he is not playing nba starter level players, so he is not getting used to anything he hasn't seen before, and even with that, he still played quite badly. I do hope he gets better with time, but that will happen with experience, most players are not at their best all of their rookie season, they keep getting better later on, after like 4th season they start to peak.

Agree to that, players is an investment for the team owner they have the last call to whatever decision that the team needs, a temporary solution might work but in the long term goal, it might affect the player condition, much better to complete the process of healing and make sure that the player already healthy before giving the green signal to play, invested time may bring better long term outcome best for both individual and the team itself.

Yeah, they should give Cooper Flagg a few more seasons before we really see his potential. The problem with being a 1st pick is the high expectations, especially if that pick was hyped even before the draft. We shouldn’t judge based on draft or summer league performances alone. Sometimes, there are players who perform well in the summer league or even in their rookie season, but end up getting washed later on.

I think his coach mentioned that he's not going to play for the entire season as he might just end his career if he forces himself to play. And that's why he's passing on for this season and will be back for 2026-2027 season. Who knows what's next. I remember last 2023-2024, Chet Holmgren got also injured and didn't play for his first season and it was a quick thing since he's still young and just this recent season, he's got his first title.

It's because of their names and fans wanted to see which one will be on top. And they guarded each one, there were highlights that Flagg was backing down on Bronny for a iso play and Bronny playing tough with his defense and then he was called for a foul. After that, Cooper got the ball again but he immediately goes for a turn around and make it. They are also talking during the game, not sure if there is trash talking between the two but obviously there is some communication and most likely the fans see this and so they make this comparison. Nevertheless, if we see the highlights of the game, it's more on Cooper had a dunk and overall had the better game between the two. At least the Mavs fans are over with Nico decision to trade Luka. Now, they have a exciting recruit and if he lives up to his name, he could be the Rookie of the Year and then help Dallas maybe into a good spot next season.

Make a strong comeback and make him healty, We saw Grant Hill and Rose destroyed their career by playing early and not let the wound heal completely. It is a long career waiting for him, he should stop, rest and chill for the next season.

Rehabbing an achilles tear takes a long time and players aren't confident doing the same movements they were doing before the tear. Fear of reinjuring themselves usually. He will be doing physical therapy for a few months minimum after it heals. If the Pacers went deep in the playoffs there would be a small chance he could play, but I doubt they go to the playoffs with the roster changes currently.

I think the management knows the risk already, that's why they will have to keep Haliburton for the rest of the next season. Yes, their center is gone for good, but most of the core will still be there. However, with no Haliburton, I doubt that they will have a deep run just like what they did this season. And speaking of Pacers, they have resigned Isaiah Jackson has agreed to a three-year, $21 million deal to return to the Indiana Pacers. I guess he will be their replacement for Turner. However, I cannot understand that they are not willing to pay Turner a good amount of money? doesn't make sense. Anyways, what can Pacers fans says about this? Not that Jackson is not that good, but Turner brings so much in the table and one of their core that's why they become a good team.

You have just ended Haliburton's career there if he does that even by force lol.
He tore his Achilles and not just a simple foot pressure. He might not even stand properly the whole season. And even let's say he can play, the crucial time is the most physical part of the game, as every ball possession is a must to score.
With the rebuilding of the roster of Indiana losing their center and the superstar, it is right not to play Haliburton the whole season. Make a strong comeback and make him healty, We saw Grant Hill and Rose destroyed their career by playing early and not let the wound heal completely. It is a long career waiting for him, he should stop, rest and chill for the next season. I wouldn't say they are in a rebuilding process, sure they might have lost Turner, but they have a replacement already. It's more that they will not have Haliburton next season that might concern them. However, we still see that they will have almost the same team members or a few. The good thing is that there are a lot of them that can really step up. Siakam will be their main offensive weapon now, but the others like Toppin, Nembhard, Nesmith and Mathurin and TJ will have a big role now.

I guess they are not in that process since I think Myles Turner is the only player signed with other team. They still have deep roster with also have good players addition that can help their team to win a championship. But there's nothing to expect much on Pacers next season since as we know Haliburton is out for the entire season which can possibly affect their run. But let see maybe Pacers would surprise us and there's a new player would step up since they need someone to step up and fill the gap what has been left by Haliburton on their team. The team would rely on Siakam for a while so let see if he remain consistent and reliable player for them next season.

Honestly I don't think Pacers will have this opportunity again next season. Like you guys also mentioned, they won't have Haliburton in the first place because of achilles injury. With whom they are going to fill his space? Siakam can't take full responsibility there. He is good but not enough to carry the team by himself. We saw it in the finals while Haliburton was injured.

Just like what happened when Kawhi left the Raptors before, Siakam alone won't be able to carry his team, now that Hali needs to rest the chance of Indiana to be on the finals again is not that high, though we can't conclude things as we don't know what might be the adjustment or might be trades that may take place when the new season start. Let see if how they'll be going to perform without Hali leading them in terms of creating plays, not that much with scoring but his presence attract the defense of their opponents which can get a good look for his teammates to advantage making a good look to take the open shots.

Being beaten by OKC had nothing to do with Haliburton being injured, just look at game 6 where he had 4 points in 34 minutes. I think they can still be a good team, even without him. He is solid but not yet the guy you can rely on all the time, he showed it in the finals where in 7 games (or 6 because of the injury) he only had more than 20 points 1 single time. Losing Miles Turner for me personally will have a bigger impact and unless they find a good replacement for him it MIGHT become a long season.

I think his coach mentioned that he's not going to play for the entire season as he might just end his career if he forces himself to play. It is a long career waiting for him, he should stop, rest and chill for the next season. He's really gonna take a rest for this entire 2025 season. I think many of the players who's looking forward to their good careers in the NBA have the same decisions. Also Jamal Murray did that so, it's a wise decision for him and his team as well if they're going to look forward. I wonder if they already have a replacement for Myles Turner since he's already traded to the Milwaukee Bucks. Well, it's a good addition for the Bucks.
