Austin Reeves declining a 4 year $90,000,000 contract extension pretty much ends his days in Los Angeles. I think they’re going to have to trade him so they don’t risk losing him for nothing. That gives the Lakers some interesting roster possibilities. We’ll have to wait a few months to see just what they can do with this.

he should take the offer or find fast a team that want him, so that he will not end like Dennis, also his performance last season are ups and down, if someone offer him a bit higher he should take it , if the lakers will not match the offer of the other teams, still young but business is business.

This is the challenge on him now. I doubt there’s a lot of team that will value him like Lakers since his game is not that dominating unlike other star player caliber that can carry the team alone.

I don't know...  I think his numbers show he deserves more than he is getting and I think he will get more.  If I were to make a guess at what he's worth given what other people with similar numbers have been getting lately...  I would say he should get $27 million per year.  Over 4 years that should be $108 million, or about 18 million more than the Lakers could offer.  That number scales to his next contract as well, so by taking that deal he would likely be leaving $40+ million dollars on the table over his career and that's if he only signs one more long deal.  I don't think this is a Dennis situation.  Dennis was being offered WAY more than his numbers justified and he was absolutely insane to turn it down.

He really deserve more bigger contract since he show quality performance and have promising feature.

Although some critics says that he is a good role player but we can't deny the fact that he have star potential if given a chance. His stats on 2024-2025 is 20+ pts  4.5 rebounds and also 5.8 assist, He is lethal shooter from 3s and that's really huge and make him eligible to get more bigger contract for another team.

So let's see what he can get from another team and hopefully he won't became a Schroder 2.0 since its really a huge waste of money if that happens.

It’s already proven that developing younger core player with potential to improve long term is much better rather than choosing a player with high salary that is not consistent at all.

Lakers can squeeze a lot of young core in exchange for Austin from team that still doesn’t have solid star player. They already have Luka so I believe every player now on Lakers is already disposable to build around Luka.

He dont want the contract now but he can still play with the Lakers, BEcause he still has a contract to play for th eteam.
But his manager and Reeves has their own plan which will give them a greener pasteur. Though he should be playing well or better than this season for them to succeed on their plan.
Dennis might fell in the wrong plan before, but I hhope Austin will not be on the same boat as before.

Its time for Austin to show that he deserve to get more bigger contract on other team that's why he need to step up on next season so that he could get those things that he want.

If it happens that he struggle and didn't perform well for Lakers din there's huge possibilities that many teams would turn back on him and that's huge waste of opportunity for him for not accepting the offer made by Lakers to him. I can't see who's the winner on this one because the Cavaliers might have the biggest trade steal in this off-season, or worst trade as well. It will all depend on how healthy Lonzo Ball will be once we enter the regular season again.

This is actually a big risk taken by the Cleveland Cavaliers. We all know how long Ball was injured, two seasons and a lot of games in the last season, because of knee injuries and surgeries.
I say the Cavs are really brave at taking that kind of risk because there's a chance that the injury will recur. Still, this is a good addition to them, and I do wish he could at least be healthy when he is needed. Cavs will probably push for a championship and take more trades and sign-ups because they really played well last season, taking the top spot in the East with 64 wins.

Lonzo Ball is trash IMO. He has played 287 games and missed 211. Who would want that type of player on their team? Someone who is available for half the season at most and comes with a ton of baggage and a sense of entitlement that is nuts. Cavs are basically praying the guy is available and will likely be disappointed because he's made of glass.

Yeah, he went also to NBA academy in South Sudan and just as the same as Siakam. These are incredible players and they've trained well just to take that spot.

From having no complete accessory and equipment for training, they're making their impossible ways into reality.

I'm not expecting a lot from being a rookie, he won't probably get a lot of playing time there.

I read the news too, but from what I saw, it was still just suspicion he was still under investigation. So why was he already arrested?

I doubt he’s the only player doing this, if he even did it. In the long run, players will just get smarter with how they place bets to avoid getting caught. It might not even be just one player involved - it could be more, which would make investigations even harder.

Maybe if they used non-regulated betting platforms like Polymarket ( assuming they have markets like player props ) it might be a safer place for riggers to operate.

According to official report, Beasley is still under investigation like what @stadus said above.

But clearly he is indeed suspicious since last year due to his performance. I think there’s some other player that under investigation due to this same pattern.

I guess that the scouts have seen on how South Sudan did on Olympics. And with all his way to his dream, to the NBA, he for sure going to do everything he can in his capacity. He's huge and there seems to be a new thing in the league about the big men. He will have to be trained and the Suns can use him. Is Bol Bol still with the Suns? they've got a lot of big men there but they can't utilize them properly. There should be a good rotation for the bigs there to perfectly use and play with Booker.

I agree because Jokic is now the basis of being a good center which can do versatile role despite having a huge frame rather than the regular big for ring protection.

However, there’s still some outstanding center like Hartenstein that do OG role yet contribute a lot just because his team is so balanced on their respective role.

He just needs to land on team like OKC that has balance rosters. I doubt Suns can give him enough play time considering their play style.

Yes, but you can't blame those NBA fans that have eagle eye after this news has surfaces. I remember a very crucial game in the playoffs wherein Malik has one of those costly errors in the dying seconds that cost them their game.

It was not an errand pass, it was a good pass to him and he was open for a three. Unfortunately, he didn't received the pass and so that is one suspicious acts on him. Nevertheless, the NBA is a very good organization in terms of investigating their players and it's a tight proof before they really put down their victim like in the case of Jontay Porter.

I only read that Malik follows Fanduel in his social media, it's one of the biggest sports bookies in the US. It's not conclusive, but only legends know.
