Warriors have proven that they don't need Durant to win, so there's no reason they will trade their young talent in order to accommodate Durant. Also, that will affect the legacy of Curry as with Durant, his production might be limited since during the seasons that they won a championship with Durant, it was also Durant who is the Finals MVP.

They have proven it last season when they won a championship, so this team does not need another superstar to improve their roster as the big 3 is already enough to win a championship. Besides, there's no news yet that Wiggins will be traded, so they might keep him and they are still intact even with some new players will be filled for the players that has already signed with other teams.
I think that's one big question mark when Durant left them, if they can win and Steph has proven it. Although they have lost a lot of players already, GPII is one Portland now, JTA signed with the Lakers, and Otto Porter with Raptors, Damion Lee with the Suns, Nemanja Bjelica is also gonna leave for his beloved Turkey.

They have gotten DiVincenzo though, so he has a lot to fill with the Warriors. But still the core remains and hopefully Wiggins and Poole can stay as well.

Agree to that, as long as the core is healthy, they can play whoever is there for them. The system will remain the same and

the executions will be depends on how the new players will adopt, since there's no news about Wiggins' possible trades we

can continue to assume that Warriors might negotiate and try to keep him. It might be better to keep him together with

the big three and Looney.

There's a high tendency that they will gonna keep him because of how he was in the NBA championship games. They don't want to repeat the same mistakes as the Lakers did when they overhaul their roosters after they won the championship in the bubble season and the result was tragedic, they cannot regain back their momentum for the past 2 years no matter how they fixed it. Warriors should add some strong rookies to their line-ups not decrease their current strong chemistries by trading or waving players from their team.

I guess it depends on who they will trade for Gobert.

Bunch of players will be sent to Jazz for Gorbert, I don't know I don't like this thread or I think Jazz gets the advantage here.

https://www.nba.com/news/jazz-wolves-rudy-gobert-trade

Quote
Timberwolves receive:

• Rudy Gobert

Jazz receive:

• Malik Beasley
• Patrick Beverley
• Leandro Bolmaro
• Walker Kessler
• Jarred Vanderbilt
• 2023 first-round pick
• 2025 first-round pick
• 2026 pick swap
• 2027 first-round pick
• 2029 first-round pick (protected)

For one guy, that's too much in return IMO.

Well, I think Gobert is a fit for the Timberwolves, so I have given them a win that they got Rudy Gobert, but a loss for losing so many players and future picks I guess the Timberwolves are that desperate and just focus on the thing at hand but they drew a double edge sword that could also hurt them, So I can surely call this a desperation move,

I really suggest to read the article that I provide because that’s the latest on this trade talk, The Article you provide is 5 days ago while Brunson just leave few days ago to start this trade talk humor. The article says that it will makes it a lot easier for the Mavs to work out a deal with the Nets since it wouldn't have to be a sign-and-trade. Dallas would simply have to match Irving's salary with some combination of players these players which is very possible when they really want to push this trade. We have different point of view on how we see Kyrie Irving so I will not gonna argue about your remarks about him.

Well, it is not the date or time or if the article is the latest it is still a rumor I have read your post and article it could be true, or it could still be fixed and they still make it a last say if they want a possible trade, but the article that Kyrie Irving is still staying for the Nets was not a rumor, I have seen rumor about him going to take Russell Westbrook's place on the Lakers, and now this, for me it will always be a rumor when there is no further announcement that the Brooklyn Nets and the Mavericks could make a trade like that, and I surely respect each and everyone's opinion about any players here, but yeah that is how I see things, sorry if I have said offensive things on Kyrie Irvings part, and maybe the Rumor could also be true or they are plotting something let's just wait for further development,

Jalen Brunson - Losing Jalen Brunson was not the smart idea for the Mavericks and Brunson had gone to the New York Knicks, this is a win for Brunson and a loss for Mavericks,

The Dallas Mavericks won. Why they should keep a player that there's no intention of playing with them? Brunson chooses a team that is not a playoffs contender so it all end up with the money. Dallas offered him with $45-50M 3-years contract and that was just a reasonable contact but he wants more that's why he take the Knicks' offer of $100M+ for 3 years. Imagine he's already on a good team but chooses the worst team. Dallas didn't match the contract as that was just a waste of the salary cap where they can use it to get more role players. Brunson is good but he's not Luka.

Someone also posted here that Brunson's hometown is New York and his father was part of the coaching staff of the Knicks. It means it's a good decision for the Mavericks to let go of Brunson as they already did their best to make him stay. Brunson was really going to Knicks but just waiting if the Mavericks will pay him more.

Yep! I saw that post, that Brunson's hometown was New York  and his father was part of the coaching staff for the Knicks, and like I have said it is a win for Brunson and a loss for the Mavericks, I am indicating that Brunson really wants to move out of the Mavericks and go for the Knicks, sorry if I haven't indicated it any further, I was a loss for the Mavericks because Brunson is a good player even though he is not Luka Doncic, I think Brunson has contributed a lot for the Mavericks, that is why for me it is still a loss for the Mavericks, but they still let go of Brunson and you are right there is no further use for Brunson because he doesn't have any intention of playing for the Mavericks, Brunson wants to leave that is why I have said it is a win for Brunson, and a loss for the Mavericks because they lost a good player,

You're right. The Warriors were able to win two championships without Durant, and it's unlikely that they will significantly change their current roster for him. In addition, it's worth noting that the Nets want an all-star player in trade for Durant, and I doubt the Warriors have any plans to trade players like Thompson, Green, or Wiggins.

Yeah they can replace those players you just mentioned.  If they keep steph, dreymond, klay and Poole and Wiggins the rest of the team just has to play their role.  They got to resign looney too.  Warriors will be another tough out next year already.  No need to bleed the team just for Durant.  I could see if they got knocked out early but not with this squad.

And they don't have the money anymore. They have the highest luxury tax last season so they cannot also afford to add more just to seal another champioship.
I am just intrigued with how Durant suddenly want a trade.
Was it because he saw his former team mates in the Warriors won another ring even without him? It's like he is expecting the Warriors to want him back for it will increase their chance to get another ring.
Maybe the Knicks would want him, they are the other team that was pursuing him back when he was a free agent. I am not sure though what the Knicks could offer.

Knick fan here and although I would love to see Durant here there are 2 things at play.  Nets would never trade Durant to theor cross town rivals only to see Durant haunt them for the next 2 years.  And second not sure knicks have the pieces to get this done.  Nets will wantultiple firsts and strong pieces.  Best I can see here for the Nets is an ayton and pick and ship Durant out west only to have to deal with him twice a year.  Knicks would just be a pipedraem for knicks fans (me included)

Sharing a good long read.
NBA free agency 2022: What we learned during wild first weekend, from Kevin Durant's journey to Lakers' dreams

It's like the Brooklyn Nets just made an experiment but it failed. So what's next? A question that had been itching for many Brooklyn fans.
Durant wants a trade and I think Kyrie want the same.
They will be left with nothing if it happens or a roster with roleplayers unable to create chemistry or they could just stick with the plan and try the experiment one more time just to see where it will go.

My favourite team in NBA are currently Brooklyn Nets. It depends on what team Durant goes to actually.  Grin  However Nets haven't been doing very well for a long time. They have made signings like Seth Curry and Ben Simmons to change the starting five a little. Because they weren't playing that much well before. Seth Curry adapted to the team and started performing nicely. I hope to see his contribution getting bigger next season. However I have big doubts about Ben Simmons. He has had a lasting injury and I don't know how strong he will be able to perform by next season.

The Nets should invest in young players and make this upcoming seasons as their exposure to enhance their skills and sharpen them, they should back down a little so that they can re-claim what's for them if their current line-up is already strong enough to face heavy teams in the league. They should stop building a super team because that won't guarantee them a win, 1 or 2 superstar will suffice to teach the young players.

About Ben Simmons, I don't know about him anymore. He used to be an asset to the Sixers but he became a liability because of that small issues that he can't get over with. That already means that he's selfish enough to leave any team he doesn't want and the Brooklyn Nets is not exempted for that.

I cannot be the only one who thinks how surprising is that Golden State has that much luxury tax. I mean ok, splash brothers and Draymond Green might get big contracts(but still arguably), but the rest of the team seems like quite low paid roster. I couldn't believe how much Golden State is paying for everybody. The financial side of the NBA is getting too much to handle for me. I seriously cannot comprehend the new, high contracts. I just feel like this much of high contracts are unreal. But of course, it is just how things goes. The tv business of NBA alone would just show how big is the whole industry.

And I can't feel sorry for Durant. Since he left Golden State, he was never in a genuine team which is playing as a good team. All of his teams had big problems and couldn't be successful.

Miami Heat- They are doomed if there's no reliable additions with P.J. Tucker leaving.
Is he that impactful to the Heat? I doubt that. The team have enough in that position to cover his departure. Let's not also forget that they drafted a 6' 11" guy Nikola Jović. That's younger and taller than him so I think they are still good even if they are not very active in the trades yet.

Of course he was. Tucker though getting old, he is a just a perfect player in his own game.
Is he that impactful that the Heat will be "doomed" without a replacement? His stats doesn't support a "yes" answer. I think the team will be alright and remain a contender in the East with their current roster.

Quote
A huge inexperienced rookie is nothing compared to a veteran like Tucker with many years in the playoffs including his championship experience.
Careful not to judge someone early when you have not even seen him play with the team yet.

Quote
The guy is just too tough, a good passer who can also set up plays, he can defend and he can shoot. I expect Miami to look for a reliable replacement in his position.
Why would the Heat let him go in the first place if he's really that good as you describe. I can give him the assist but his other numbers look average for a power forward to be honest.

Of course, players win championships for the organizations, but the Warriors has a system that it's like so perfect that they can replace those players again as if nothing has change, the well oiled machine is going to play again no matter who the driver is.

And it's good to see those players getting a better pay specially Payton, he really played well in the Warriors uniform.

Also, that will affect the legacy of Curry as with Durant, his production might be limited since during the seasons that they won a championship with Durant, it was also Durant who is the Finals MVP.

That's the way constructs are now, it's all relative.  Every year the contract values will go up.  So for someone making 20 mil a year now will seem like a small contract in 5 years.  The more they sell tickets for and merchandise the more contracts will go up.  Again it's all reletive.

Feel sad for the Brooklyn Nets that what they gambled during the time they signed Irving and following Durant failed. It's a lesson now that even if a team signed great superstars, it won't be an assurance that they will be close now to having the Larry O' Brien trophy.

After the failed experiment and the Nets did their best to improve their roster for several seasons, looks like they will go back again to their usual where no aggressiveness to sign a big name won't be a priority.

Not unless they want to gamble again, then it's their decision.

They pay so high just to sign this guys but they didn't get good results in return and now they are pain in their asses because they can't take action on this current free agency because they have this two stars giving them huge head ache to their organization. Maybe its good for them if they find good trades with this guys and rebuild with their rooster because maybe for that they can get good results to their team.

Worst season of the Nets, they were eliminated by the Celtics in the first round at 4-0 score, no management would love that, of course they will think of moving some players because there's no reason for them to play together as they are not effective.

That was the worst season of both superstar, if they only have Harden, maybe they won't get swept by the Celtics but I think they will still lose because they are not fully healthy. Durant is not getting any younger too and he came from a bad injury, so he is not the old Durant and therefore he really need someone who could fill his role everytime he is injured.

Giving them higher value makes them more fragile. Glass.  Cheesy
Kawhi Leonard played 109 games in 3 seasons.
PG13 - 133 games played.
Anthony Davis - 138 games played. Yet, they call AD the most fragile of them all. He is young and he proved something in the bubble in 2020, I think some NBA fans should remember that. Lebron James may have got the Finals MVP but AD anchored them to win that championship.
Stats will never lie.

It really is a failed experiment by the Brooklyn Nets but with their superstars, they might get a good trade package for those 2 especially Durant.
Kyrie wants to be in the Lakers and Lebron wanted it as well but the question is who will the Lakers trade just to get him. Durant now want's to go to either Phoenix or Miami but that would be hard because I don't know who will either Phoenix or Miami want to trade just to get Durant.

I just don't know but if Kyrie will go to Lakers, the Warriors might get Durant again (guess only) and they have a good trade package to get Durant with Poole, Wiggins and Wiseman so they an get it if both parties will agree. The future of the Nets now is still unknown but we might see a picture of what they will be doing next season if Kyrie and Durant will be traded and which players will get in exchange for both of them.
