Can someone give me a step by step on how to change the Trezor idle graphic using Windows 8.1 please? I wish it was just part of MyTrezor.com where you could select an image and tell it to use it. Thanks.

Step 1) Get https://github.com/trezor/python-trezor installed
Step 2) Change homescreen using proper commands

A user-friendly homescreen upload should come with next myTrezor.com release if I remember well.

i can't seem to get the python-trezor hack to work with 12.04?

can we get a sweep private key feature in mytrezor.com? please, please, with sugar on top

use case: enter private key in the web form, use as input in a payment
send the coins to either a trezor address (sweeping) or any bitcoin address (payment) with the rest going to trezor ...

workaround is using any wallet that can import priv key. would be great if mytrezor would be capable of it.

Entering private key anywhere on your PC is unsafe. No need to use trezor for it.

It would be better to allow to enter the private key completely into Trezor, without revealing it to the PC.

For example, trezor could show RANDOM letters from base58 alphabet, in the 3x3 matrix as for the PIN. 8 random letters, 9th for "Other". Since private key is 256 bits, it would require about 256/3 = 86 steps to enter single key. Alternatively, one of buttons can be used for Other, resulting in 80 steps and some button presses on Trezor.

When updating firmware, is the recovery seed always required?

Only if the update goes FUBAR. Normally it updates and you just keep using it. No wiping or reseeding.

ok thanks...I still haven't updated my firmware since I got mine...I think I am two firmwares behind now...

I'd update your firmware when you get a chance. No downsides, plus the past two firmwares have added some good features to the Trezor. (PIN is required to see account balances, etc.) I haven't heard of someone's update messing up before, but always be sure that you have your seed written down, in the off-chance that the update screws up your Trezor and deletes/corrupts your wallet.

Mine does the same thing, try using Firefox and make sure the Trezor's plugged into a USB 2.0 port.

I am having the same issue with Chrome browser in Windows. The plugin is gone from the plugins menu and it just keeps asking to download it even though I have reinstalled it numerous times. It still works properly in Firefox though so use that for now. Some issue with a Chrome update most likely.

I was coming here to mention the same thing. I've tried uninstalling the plugin and re-installing a few times, and it doesn't seem to work. Chrome + Windows for me as well. Guess I'm stuck with using Mycelium on my phone for now, hopefully this will be fixed soon though, I've been having this issue for a few days now.

I think the issue is that Google stopped supporting Java and NPAPI plugins. Java was scheduled to stop working sometime during April. The latest Chrome update must have finally blocked all Java and NPAPI plugins. Google wants developers to use PEPPER plugins instead. Use MyTrezor.com in Firefox or install Electrom 2.0.4. Both are still working with Trezor.

Yeah, I'm using Firefox or Mycelium for the time being. Haven't heard anything from anyone on the Trezor team yet. Some news as to why MyTrezor doesn't work on Chrome / ETA on a fix would be nice to know.

I tried it about 24 hours ago with no luck. I'll try again in a few hours though and hopefully it's working again.

I just had a chance to test Chrome out and it doesn't seem to work for me either. Maybe jackbox is using an older version of Chrome or something like that.

No. I am not using an older version of Chrome. It stopped working for me also. I was one of the first to report it. Then it started working again the other day. I believe my Chrome updated again (Chrome updates itself and never tells you it has updated). My current Chrome version is Version 42.0.2311.90 m.
