I'm done with ethereum, i still mine it but it's at a good price to sell it as soon as i hit a block. I know a lot of people have gone all in on eth but I'm just not that confident in it.
This is the first time I really think that ETH is overvalued. $18 per ETH right now doesn't make sense ($700 BTC doesn't make sense either). It should be very interesting to see what happens after the halvening. I think BTC will definitely correct to $500-600 if not more (considering it will rise more in the next days, it can hit $800-900 but I don't think we'll see 1k). After that I think will find refuge in ETH and we can even see it at $25-30. However it won't be by own merit really since not a lot of dapps or development have taken place in this period... Do you think if it $1k it will be questioned? Like the government and other parties who dont want something as high as that? Just thinking though and if it is the case then ETH will be safer for a lower value. We'll see, when Bitcoin was above $1000 in 2013 there was a lot of pressure from certain government sectors but it was a different era with Silk Road making a lot of noise. I wasn't involved with BTC at the time but that's what I've read.

I use the bitcoin quite a lot to buy good goods, which can be paid the credit cards as well. I am helping the community.

Well bring it on, you know I'm holding strong from months ago so anything above $20 is great news. Well, you got your great news thanks to Bitcoin. ~$20.50 as I write.

Want to get into ether but is it easy to get into as bitcoin? I will think it is the right time to get into since bitcoin price is on the increase.

Was stopped out in my position, don't feel too bad though, it was only profits from ETH that I lost.
As of now? 4-5% of supply in the hands of these hackers and the code of the TheDAO exposed as terribly insecure and fubarred. ETH could seriously go sub-0.01 imho.

So ETH is not meant to be store of value right? Just for burning gas on ether blockchain for smart contracts Vitalik told us, not really a currency, just worthless electronic token, right guys?

Forgive my petulance and oft-times, I fear, ill-founded criticisms, and forgive me that I have, by this time, made your eyes and head ache with my long letter. But I cannot forgo hastily the pleasure and pride of thus conversing with you.

The worst is yet to come. Vitalic has switched the DAO to use Proof of Vitalik for security with a planned HF to arbitrarily freeze peoples assets and is currently making demands that all exchanges halt trades by his decree so investors cannot flee a burning building. He is undermining not only the trust and reputation of the DAO but in Ethereum as well. I expect slow capitulation after a sharp correction when some of the exchanges allow deposits again.

I see plenty of blood on the streets, and looks like a bull trap or dead cat bounce, but regardless the longterm credibility is now going to be tainted and haunt not only the DAO but ETH as well.

The problem was in the smart contract code (not in ETH platform per se). No ETH was stolen because there were security barriers installed from the start and Vitaly and crew seemed to respond as fast as they could, so that's what affecting the price right now, it was a major hiccup but nicely handled. I would say the DAO has no future, it was already chaotic to begin with and this may have been the last nail on the coffin but you never know, maybe it hangs around and recovers.

Eth suffers from the same problem the DAO suffers from - Turing complete with an extremely large attack surface. Not only that is they are doomed either way now . If the developers and miners perform a HF and seize the properly earned coins(remember code is law in smart contracts and technically the "hacker" can sue if a HF occurs) , than they open themselves up to regulatory exposure and will need to hire a bunch of lawyers and at the same time undermine the trust in the network. What happens when the FBI knocks on the Ethereum foundations door and asks for another soft or HF to disable or freeze assets on a naughty smart contract? If they don't HF than there is a "hacker" with 3,641,694.24 ETH on a coin that is going to PoS algo . Good job. You mETH heads really have convinced yourselves that we are simply attacking Ethereum because we are jealous when we have been around long ago and decided to pass on the IPO specifically because these security concerns. Ethereum will literally have to remove it most special feature - being turing complete - to become more secure...good luck!
