Why mining is not profitable after halving?
What can be the exact reason?
It CAN still be profitable, but older less efficient gear probably won't be. Income will be cut in half (give or take difficulty shift) but the COST of the electric to run the miner won't change. Comes down, as usual, to how cheap your electric is - if it's cheap enough, S7s and Avalon 6s will still be (barely) profitable, S9s should be solidly profitable but will lose well over half their profit, and anything older than an S7 will probably turn into a serious moneyLOSER even if it's break-even or a little better right now. "The halfing" refers to the fact that somewhere in July, block 400,000 *IF* I remember correctly, the block rewards gets cut in half from the current 25BTC per block to 12.5 BTC per block. THAT is why "the halfing" is going to have a massive negative effect on Bitcoin profitability. Bitcoin price rise before then MIGHT mitigate the effects enough that even some older gear on low-cost electric will still be profitable, but EVERYONE is going to take a serious hit to their profitability. Bitmain seems to normally adjust their BTC price once a day - WHEN they aren't on "Dragon boat festival" holiday.

BTC price rises to a reasonable level 3. Supply of S9 is good (ie. not limited) Meanwhile DHL send me a text, to sign off S9 when they deliver to my door steps in 24 hours....

Im wondering Which would win, a S7 or a S9 in a DB contest XD I maxed out of amps -- this unit is going to go to a hosted DC - I may have to offline my ETH rigs for awhile to test - I will play by ear because both coins are rising to unprecedented levels now..... BTC $707 and ETH $16.9....

My S9 is still stuck in Shenzhen with FedEx, supposed to be here in the states tomorrow . Anybody else's made past Shenzhen and is US bound? My come on Tues. I use UPS much better for bitmaintech then Fedex. At Tupsu yeah the 600 on the low end is only good for the low number. the mystery 4800 coin transfer could be a single order of 1200-1300 for a big farm . or lots of cash orders or hashnest coins. and the bank transfers are ? $ . so even 600 to 1800 may be too low as the 1800 could be as bad as 2500. At pumaro no one knows but if they are smart they will hold back as coins rise in price. Then do a batch 3 right before the ½ ing.

I used DHL with Avalon6 pretty good service. I used Fedex with spondoolies way too much paperwork. I used fedex and UPS with bitmaintech fedex was a tiny bit cheaper but lots more paperwork and slow. so I did about 30 orders with ups and 1 with fedex.

Maybe it depends on how the local office handles it but with Fedex I filled out a customs form once and that was it. They would bill me then if there are fees to be paid and I can pay them at my leisure. UPS on the other hand won't give me the package until I pay, which is quite stupid. I had to get a checkbook just because of that (the driver doesn't take credit cards or cash).

For Asian destination address, its best to use DHL - very fast and no-hassle documentation. But I need to pay them the tax amount upon sign off during delivery; for the S7s I paid about SGD$160 about 120USD$ per miner. We will see tomorrow what's the deal with the tax amount.

Jaa I agree that UPS's way of doing it is nutz. 2x I got tripped up by the fee's due delaying a delivery but on the whole UPS has been the best for me. What I do now is check the package status on the UPS site the day before delivery. So far, if there is monies to be paid they will show that on the tracking page so I can get the payment done before the driver arrives with the miners.
