Byteball is a really good choice for buy. It is better than IOTA and I am sure, that when people will explore potential of this coin, it will have a really great rise. IOTA rised 8 times per a few last days.
Iota's price is highly manipulated since most of the tokens are in just a few big players. Byteball on the other side is truly decentralsed, so in the long rum a winner - or so I tend to believe. Also, Byteball didn't pump out fake news like being in partnership with Microsoft. ------------------------------ Here is your link to receive 0.001 GB: https://byteball.org/openapp.html#textcoin?jungle-spoil-toe-flip-scrub-area-bright-slight-bacon-crime-skirt-fragileIt wasn't the devs that did that though. It was the community and miss-worded articles. But yeah, IOTA's price is definitely overvalued and ByteBall has a much stronger foundation built for a cheaper cost

iota's lack of fees makes it a different proposition completely. if both survive they'll wind up with different markets. and alot of the future of crypto will be private chains used by companies. no company will use eth or xrp directly. maybe byteball should look into an offshoot serving that too. maybe they are already. i dunno.

Any ideas on the fix?
Uncaught exception: Error: Error: SQLITE_CORRUPT: database disk image is malformed SELECT MAX(lb_units.main_chain_index) AS min_retrievable_mci FROM units JOIN units AS lb_units ON units.last_ball_unit=lb_units.unit WHERE units.is_on_main_chain=1 AND units.is_stable=1
Upgrade to the latest wallet. Misinformation. This bug has not been fixed yet. Just to make sure that you did not know what you are talking about I upgraded to the latest version: https://github.com/byteball/byteball/releases/tag/v1.11.2re-downloaded it and re-installed it and sure enough, I still have the issue. A fix is in the works. I expect tonych will announce a new version with the fix when it is ready and available. He knows all about this issue, see his post here: Distribution of blackbytes is now finished.
I know about the "removing stable witnessed unit" error, working on it.
Thanks Burt I gave it a month to let the client stabilize and just did the upgrade to 2.0 it didn't seem to fix it though. It still has the original bug so its a bit perplexing as it would have been fixed on 1.1.3 >1.15 I did attempt a downgrade from 2 to 1.115 and got the 16<15 So I guess it is still a long running glitch.

Can a dev explain me why voting for 12 witnesses is better than automatically assigning witnesses to the biggest wallets. In case of schism/ collusion they lose everything so why trusting democracy instead of those who have money at stake?
Not a Dev but the way I understood it from Tony is that outside interested can buy a big stake in the project and still be financially motivated to see it go down in favor of the other interest they have. By using 12 witnesses selected based on real world reputation, the witness has more to lose than just his Byteball reputation. If the witness is dishonest within Byteball it will also damage his/her other interests. Not sure if correctly represented but this is how I understood it. It's not a democracy as there are no elections. It's Tony trusting an individual/company enough to make him/her a witness, very much like how companies select their leaders.

What are the benefits of private chains? Doesn't that defeat the whole purpose of decentralized trustless systems? Better just use the patented hashgraph then or a database on Azure?

It is necessary to split the investments to different projects to minimize possible losses, But sometimes it has to make a big difference to get big profit if you have good luck but also you can get big losse . It is good to hold some good alt coins and invest to good ICO projects like byteball, IOTA, Spectre, Kuneen and other
