byteball should be 50% of iota ?
Why not, the technology is online.  Wink

500% of iota he meant to post. Well done I agree.

But byteball fans all hide in here telling each other how great it is whilst iota fans are all over the main alt board where the noobs arrive to find the cheap iota and expensive bb Sad

let's change the basic unit to MB or KB ?

i think byteball reasonable valuation should be 50% of IOTA !

Not only that given XRB rise the past couple of weeks I am beginning to think Byteball is in for a good run sooner or later only question is when. Doesn't really matter to me when though I got my bag filled and am ready either way Smiley

I think IOTA reasonable valuation should be 50% of byteball because IOTA even doesn't have a warking wallet and peoples that use it have a lot of trouble!
And I think byteball need more exchange.

Well what about the fact iota is not even able to operate in a decentralised manner right now. It has its coordinator training wheels on and they are afraid to remove them. I would find that far more worrying right now.

Any more progress on the discussion wether to use as a standard unit of measure of Byteball's price the Megabyte instead of the Gigabyte?

If you mean convincing the exchanges to make the change then no. In fact, it seems even some users have a hard time believing it will make a difference.

The effect is called unit bias and is not uncommon. It is even observed in stocks when they split.
Don't try to prove logically that it makes no difference. We know that and of course it is the case... but we are talking about people's perceptions here which are not always consistent with logic.

Yes, as mentioned, eth has no problem being traded. Neither do btc, bch, dash and all the other coins with high value units. Nobody said that people will not buy a coin because of this. We are saying that it affects their decision, particularly the more inexperienced ones.

You could argue that in the long run it will not matter. Maybe, maybe not, but I see no reason why not to make the change if possible.

As for the argument that bittrex has a minimum trade of 50000 sat, it means nothing. So what if you cannot buy and sell a single unit? This is true for any coin lower than a 50000 sat/unit, so plenty of them.

Help needed please.  Inside Byteball, there is a Byte-BTC exchange. I accidentally sent all of my blackbytes to that address. Is there anyway I may recover? Thanks very much.
Do you have a sale-order now or did you sell them cheap?

It doubled:

I supposed to send GBYTE to that given address, I instead sent blackbytes to that address. I guess I lost all of my blackbytes.

Guys!

I have built a BYTEBALL VIDEO FAUCET and I am giving away until END OF 2017 for FREE 5,000,000 bytes for every new Byteball user:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Up5mWozjHhI

This is also a perfect tool to support the growth of Byteball community (and Byteball PRICE!)
Please help me with that!

You can also get free byteball, but even more important:
YOU CAN RAISE THE VALUE OF YOUR BYTEBALL ASSETS by spreading the news about the faucet.
The more users own and transact in Byteball, the more valuable Byteball becomes and it's price rises.
Until now, roughly 500 new users created byteball wallets and joined our community through this campaign.
This is a good way to also reach mainstream adoption of byteball.

So help me promote Byteball and increase your net worth at the same time!

But hurry up! The campaign runs until December 31 only.

Just share the video link:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Up5mWozjHhI
with on your Social Media channels with some nice comments like:
"Become a Byteball Millionaire"
"Get 5,000,000 Byteball for free"
or
"First Byteball Faucet"
"Get free Byteball from the Byteball Video Faucet"

You could also post the screenshot of your wallet with the funds you've received like this guy did:
https://twitter.com/benjamim/status/946325369963114496

Thanx so much for making this community great! Let's make things happen!

What do you think of this initiative?

Hey just for clarification - is this a contest or are you giving away some GBytes to people who participate in the campaign?

Ooops never mind - just watched the video and figured out it was a faucet. You're awesome. Proceeding to share the video to my social media pages!

That is correct, because that address didn't get them either since you have to be paired to the address in order for them to get them.

There is a slight chance you can pair if the received is willing and able to do the pairing.  It's difficult since it is a bot.

Just wanted to point out that they didn't just magically receive your blackbytes.

I have quite a lot of arguments for you... But I value my energy, it's my most precious asset. I'll say just this.. BRAND recognition. You cannot compare Byteball, as a brand, with Bitcoin. If Bitcoin would have sold in "bits" (1bit = 100 satoshi) instead of whole bitcoins, we'd probably be seeing a higher marketcap.

I've spoken with tens of people who are new to crypto-space, and most of them (i'd say 8 out of 10) initially tell me "this is cheap, this is expensive" based ONLY on price per unit.

There's actually a marketing science applied to price-tagging. Why do you think most of the prices you see in stores look like "$99.99" or "39.99"? Because most people think in the lines of "oh, this costs 90bucks, and this costs 30 bucks", when in reality it costs $100 and $40, respectively. Now this may not fool you or me and a few of the rest. But it damn works, and it boosts profits by 20 - 50%, based on industry.

I'm curious if there are actual concrete steps we could take on this direction. I'd be willing to put some effort into this.

Very good post on the topic, thanks man

Where is tony ch??

where is his direct response to the fact the entire thread is discussing the moving of gbyte to mbyte

same as where was his direct response to the fact giving most of the bb away to competing ico managers was a shit idea.

I am not getting this lack of involvement on key issues?

bittrex will change the unit tag if tony ch tells them too 100% I have seen it done before with other projects.

Guys... discussing changing the unit is just about as pointless as it gets.  Once upon a time, rare coins were all the rave.  Noobs chase fads... it's unavoidable.  Just because some people have it in their heads that noobs like cheap coins... doesn't mean that noobs don't also like rare coins.

Stop worrying about this shit OR the price.  Have you guys seen the $Gbyte chart?  It's bullish as fuck.

Just to mention, for the Byteball wallets of all my friends I always instruct them to change the default unit to MB. For the Slice&Dice Dungeon game I also use MB and soon I will probably even switch to KB. GB is simply not a practical denomination. You can say what you want about logic and psychology but GB is not practical! Most purchases made online will be less than 1 GB. Writing that comma is a source of errors. Is it a dot or comma? It can cause trouble. And it is stupid to cling to gbytes.

where is his direct response to the fact the entire thread is discussing the moving of gbyte to mbyte
Tony is a technical person, I don't think it matters to him, just like it doesn't matter to me. Moving to 1 MBYTE makes them 1000 times cheaper than 1 GBYTE, but there are also 1000 more units available: 1 BILLION! Now, there are only 1 million GBYTES, which is really not much.
Based on the same theory you could also move to kbyte, they'll be a fraction of a cent!

I've changed my mind on this though, I'm now in favour of moving to smaller units. For Bitcoin, I set all my wallets to mBTC too, and if you were to buy a coffee with either one of them, paying x "units" is more convenient than paying 0.00x units. It looks much more like dollars or whatever currency people are used to.

A friend of mine wanted to buy some altcoins, I mentioned a few, and she said she can buy Bitcore, because it's only like $15 and she can afford that.
I'd say move to MBYTE, and make that the default unit for newly installed wallets too.

Question for the exchange bot owners:
Would it be possible to create a GUI web interface to trade from? I like how it's possible to exchange in chat, but it's much less intuitive than a GUI would be. If we can setup trades in the GUI, then make the transaction from the Byteball wallet, that would be great, and I expect more people would use it.
