I see a lot of people on this thread like to hate on IOTA. I find it silly. I own all of iota, byteball and rayblocks and really hope all of them succeed in their own way. Let's all be friends!

i just realized, that it is not possible to register Segwit Adresses for the Airdrop? When will Segwit for Airdrops be implemented? That can't be to complicated....
SegWit addresses won't be supported: Since segwit has been activated on BTC I noticed that the transition bot doesn't work with the new segwit addresses.
If you try to use a segwit generated address you get this message "Only P2PKH addresses are supported".
Are there any plans to address this issue?
No such plans. Our developers' time is better spent on Byteball. Ouch. That is a big thing. A lot of bitcoins would have migrated to segwit addresses now. Of course, since the airdrop is primarily linked to byteball addresses now, people won't feel the impact. |

I agree that there's no need to spend time upgrading the distribution for Segwit addresses at the moment. BTC linking should be already over to enhance a better byteball distribution among current byteball holders. The Bitcoin linking has been a great start for this project but as of now there's no need for it anymore. I mean, come on, hear people only complain about what has been a FREE airdrop. Go find ICOs around if you wish  |

Noobish question but how does the exchange bot work? Say I want to buy some gbyte with bitcoin. How do i 'deposit' my bitcoin into the bot? I'm not used to decentralised exchanges and would like to understand more
Well I took the plunge and put an order using the exchange bot (byte-BTC). I'd like to know a bit more about the inner workings, if anyone can provide a link or something would appreciate. In any case, to use is quite simple you put in a buy order and then it gives you a bitcoin address to fund. I assume it is trustworthy? Once that receives two confirmations your order is added to the book. I'm not sure why there is a limit of 0.2 BTC ? Sometimes might be nice to go higher than that. There doesn't appear to be much volume or liquidity to speak of but hopefully that might improve in time. In general I think bytecoin could do with being available on a few bigger exchanges, are there any plans in that regard? There appears to be NO volume on that exchange bot. At least nothing happening I can discern in 2 days that I've looked into it.  |

Why that? Did you find restaurants in Italy which already accept Byteball? That would be really awesome. Perhaps we should then have a list of Byteball accepting restaurants  |

How come IOTA has much bigger market cap than byteball ? A combination of factors: listed on bitfinex at the launch; it is undeniable that there is some hype; you can also speculate that few people bought in the ICO, which makes it easy to pump the price. |

How come IOTA has much bigger market cap than byteball ? IOTA getting a lot of free marketing and attentions all over bitcointalk and social media. The more hate and fud it gets the more IOTA becoming popular. And there is no such thing as bad publicity. Maybe someone should also fud byteball to overtake IOTA market cap. |

How come IOTA has much bigger market cap than byteball ? I guess the third reason that you've mentioned is probably the main one. But then, if true this also would mean the coin is very centralized, which is not very good for a currency. |

the better solution would be to end the airdrops soon, giving 25% of all bytes to a foundation for development and marketing. The next step would be to give users a tool to select their witnesses. |

I have a question about distribution. If I have bytes in multiple wallets, do I have link all of them to participate drop or are they automatically in?
I know there's no way to distribute blackbytes in automaticly since they are untraceable, so they have to be in linked address to be able to get drops. But is there a way to link multible byteball addresses with transition bot?

You can link as many byteball addresses as you want. Ok, so I just tell my new Byteball address to the transition bot and when it asks my Bitcoin address, I just use my already linked bitcoin address and sign new message? So it won't overwrite my old Byteball address? Thanks! Haven't got any answers, is this correct way to link Byteball addresses to get also blackbytes from airdrop? I'm fairly certain this has been answered at least 20 times before but here it goes again: - You can't link one BTC address to more than one BB address but you can link multiple BTC addresses to one BB address. - You must, AFAIK, link your BTC address if you want to get GBB but you don't need to link them to get GB. * You may not get GBB if you link a BTC address that has a 0 balance and/or have a significantly small number of bytes. This is from personal experience over the last 2 airdrops.
Has anyone seen this?  This should be a first, right? |

Segwit has no protocol for signing messages so at this time it is not possible to do.
wow. i did not know that. that's a huge function to be missing. i'm signing stuff all the time. I also haven´t known that, signing messages is really important in my opinion, I am a little bit shocked that I haven´t read about that in the whole "Segwit-Story". And the reality hits hard  there's more shit to come from the segshit bandwagon |
