Dear Claymore, I know you're very busy, but I would just like to draw your attention to my post on the Cryptonote Thread. THX.

I did some tweaks on both of my Tahiti (HD7950) cards and I get around 200H/s per card. Makes 400H/s in total. I'm pretty happy with these results.
Thanks Claymore for this great program. Keep up the good work!

can you post your tweaks?

i get this speed from clocking 1050/1500 and running intensity 6.. no secret. have had use a bit more voltage in bios since last claymore version though.

I will release new version in 1-2 days. Not all cards will get speedup, but at least Hawaii and Polaris will.
Forget Polaris, Tahiti is king!

Polaris is more efficient.

I did some overclocking to make sure both cards would yield the same results in Catalyst 15.11. I increased the GPU and memory clock of one of the cards. As you can see this gives me 200H/s per card.
check :http://imgur.com/a/7D1Et

I've been thinking of trying two more things to increase the H/s:

- updating catalyst to the latest version
- Trying this:
http://www.overclock.net/t/1554360/tahiti-memory-timings-patch-for-hynix-vram
It seems there is a patch for the Tahiti Memory Timings which seems to increase the speed. Now, this is all a bit technical for me and I don't really know what it does exactly, but the results look promising. This only works for the Tahiti cards though (HD7950), like mine.

Will you gives us a heads up on the Polaris power consumption increase (if any)?

dont bother trying the latest 16.12.x (relive) driver it drops hashes by 5-10% according to posts.

stick with 16.10.x, 16.11.x or so (i have 16.11.15, goes fine with my rx 470).

if your rig has only older 3x0, 2x0, 7xx0 cards best just to stay with 15.12. my 380/390 rig runs 15.12.

if youre uncomfortable flashing cards, be aware you can brick them fairly easily.

got any old cards to experiment on?

btw flashing cards seems to benefit eth mining more than zec. also a flash that may help one coin may crash with another. so if you will switch coins often it can be a double edged sword.

Hello friends,

I have 5X Sapphire nitro rx480 4gb on win 8 , the latest driver 16.12.2 , no overclock no bios mod.
When start ,all cards run at 200 h/s but after 5 min slowdown to 180-190 h/s.
I try few combinations 1395/2195   , 1306/1900  but no result.The people report 240-250 h/s for those cards.
Can you help me please with proper settings and driver version.

Thank you very much !

The majority of cards I have had actually DIE have been HIS AMD cards.

The issue hasn't been the chipset - the issue is the CHEAP SLEEVE BEARING FANS they use on most of their cards.

so you would not recommend to buy a HIS HD7990 gpu? Is this brand possible to undervolt? (not like gigabite, where you have a limited chance to undervolt if even possible...)

thx for your reply Wink

If it's one of their blower-style IceQ cards, should be good - they used a high quality Ball Bearing design on those.
I don't know if their higher end cards used ball-bearing fans at any point - if they DID upgrade to using high quality fans should be OK.

16.9.1/16.9.2 also seem to work fine for mining, though I'd recommend 16.10.1 for WQHL compatability + ability to used modded BIOS on RX series.

Pre-terrascale stuff you have to go with 16.9.2 "legacy" for it to work at all IME (15.7.1 does NOT work, 0 hashrate issue), otherwise 15.12 remains the "goto" version for pre-RX series cards IMO.

If you're in Europe change the dwarf server to the RU one - for me, after 10h, rejects there are at 0,15% Smiley

I'm running on 15.12 atm, which is OK. So I won't change my version. I do not have an old card to experiment on. But I won't flash the cards because I have a dual boot system where I mine XMR, ETH and previously ZEC in Linux. If I flash them, I might not be able to mine anything else anymore. Also, I have never flashed a GPU before...

EDIT: I got my catalyst version wrong...

Maybe some of you know, is it possible to use Claymore's manager to manage mixed Zcash, Eth/Etc & Cryptonote miners?

Where did you get "Claymore's manager" from?

Nope, couple of 480's here mining ZEC, the difficulty is down so making the most of it.
Will hold out for a pump and dump, but not too worried.
It's all fun and games Smiley

What hashrate can I expect with 7950 and what can I expect with 7970?

7970 is basically a R9 280x with slightly slower RAM.
7950 is basically a R9 280 with slightly slower RAM.

Hashrates will be near identical - SAME GPU chip between those card pairings.

 In re verjic's post:

My RX 470 cards are still on ZEC 'cause the profitability is still a bit higher in my case. They might play with XMR sometime this week to see what kind of hashrate I can get out of them on that.
My R9 290 cards never left ETH as ZEC profitability on them was never enough higher to go through the hassle of moving those machines to WinDoze from LINUX.
My R9 280x cards ARE still on ZEC and will probably stay there for a while.
My HD 78xx cards are on ZEC as they're 2GB or less cards that don't handle ETH DAG size any more.
My 77xx cards are still on ZEC and never could do ETH.
My 1070 cards are mostly still ZEC but starting to move to something "outside the entire basket" of ETH/ZEC/XMR/etc. that is their primary INTENDED usage.

Do keep in mind that electric cost is a significant factor in relative profitability on ZEC vs ETH vs XMR etc.
Your 'relative profitability" is not always the same as mine.

Yeah, that I know but can't find anything about the hash rates.
Or well 200sol/s for 7950 sounds about right. Maybe 220 for 7970 then?
