Dear knc
The miners in the knc thread have got together to discuss the neptune case design. Here are our requests:
1. Make it ugly 2. Make sure it can heat a swimming pool, (preferably DPoS's pool) 3. Make sure it comes with nice stickers 4. People can have the Model T Neptune in any color – so long as it's black
Thanks knc thread on bitcointalk

I've increased the SPI voltage on my miner to 1.95V (default) all the way up to 2.40V and it hasn't changed in anyway. How do you "overclock" these? I want to just add a little more juice and overlock a "small" bit....but there are only a few voltage selections left.

Misnomer - not overclocked, additional modules added beyond 4.

How long would you guys be willing to pay for a 675GH Jupiter @ $2250? What month would be your cut off point?
That is essentially how much a $10K Neptune breaks down in value @ 3TH. Man $13K sounds like such a bad deal. That would be $2925 for a 675GH Jupiter...in Q2?

By the beginning of Q2 $2000 is already too expensive. By late-Q2 it'll be horrible.

By the beginning of Q2 $2000 is already too expensive. By late-Q2 it'll be horrible. This whole thing seems like a really bad deal IMO. Next diff change is 0.72 per day for 3TH down from 0.84 currently. And nobody is getting them for a while. If the law of supply and demand holds true, then it would make more sense to buy $20K worth of BTC now (what the Neptune pre-orders seem to be going for on eBay) before the difficulty runs away from everyone making BTC that much more scarce. Then we begin another run to the next paradigm jump in the spot price sometime after mining blows up. I'd guess that March/April is when people will start to figure out how pointless mining is.

If the return on hashrate drops so quickly that Neptunes won't make ROI then it likely would make sense to take possession when it finally does ship and sell it quick. When they first hit the market as immediately available the auction price will be quite high.

They'll likely ship a system which can do double that. Few consumer folks will be able to power it, however.

I think they've made it clear that efficiency was primary over gh/s due to power constraints to keep them hashing in an average home.... I wouldn't look for much over 3.2-3.5 based on O'rama's 2200-2400 watt guesstimate. Not only that, It was stated they just re-submitted the base code, so we're certainly well into Q2 for first shipment.

I posted this then recalled something from this morning and went to edit the post but my cable went down. Just digital and internet but couldn't fix my comment. Just now up after almost 1½ hours. Maybe the auction price on future just arrived Neptunes won't be that great given I saw something about $6/GHs group buy this morning with relatively soon delivery for Avalon2's I think. That price will drop and by the time the Neptunes ship, the Avalon2's will be cheaper by a good deal maybe.

Not only that, It was stated they just re-submitted the base code, so we're certainly well into Q2 for first shipment. well i'm considering letting my "extremely early" i think i'm in the first 5 or so in 2nd batch (not customer appreciation batch) open to everyone batch Neptunes ..just send that one back and .off to KNC for my $13.2K USD back...ie refund the beast....put my share into BTC direct. i likely will keep the very early 1st batch unit (1st 10 i think i am) and just take the chance (got to do something) I have a hard time believing that with dificutly going up and such bitcoin price will not follow etc..so even worse case senario and i have to lose a little elec $$$ vat the end of its life cycle that I would not get ROI back on that 1st batch customer appreciation Neptune...main reason for not dumping both is after KNC shoots out neptune..as far as I can tell they will be the last of this crop of miner generation floating out all of us who want to mine....it will be stand around and wait till fall for the other/next generation of miners. at 23K or some such ..and I could get lucky in that lull of time between this big dump of equip and mine some more coin in that lull (yeah prob not just saying)...anyway you get my drift (hoping for some flatlining between diff rises eventually don't ya know) anyway its a hedge.....50/50 dump 2nd neptune for BTC keep 1st order neptune and mine (this is with 3 brothers so even if we get dorked it is only like $3388.66 each for us a gamble kepping the 1st neptune...so what the heck..hopefully it will have nice shiny lights ...and make soothing humming sounds i'm such a tool anyway that is looking like the likely senario....$3388.66 gamble on 1st unit and mine take the $4400 each on the 2nd unit refund and buy BTC ASAP such a fence sitter I am But with my Jupiter and if I do the above and what i've mined so far..by the time the Neptune arrives I'll be sitting on 50 BTC or so ....and have a shiny Neptune early order batch 1 arrive...ah a boy with his toy all will be well or I will dress it up to look like a tardis with wheels and pull it around on halloween what the heck I could do worse for a gamble anyway my likely senario on this "confusting" situation we find ourselves in with bitcoin/miners....ah the DRAMA! Anyone know how to remotely setup and login to a Jupiter?
Well you would need someone there to plug it in and power it up. Not easy considering the jury rigging of the power supply needed. After that well.. do you have remote access to a computer on the same network the miner is plugged into?

a more revealing question would be, has anyone NOT asked for a neptune refund...? I'm waiting to see if they increase the hashrate. I don't see why anyone would keep their orders the way things are now.
