naw, I read it alright, and noticed it was full of puns, so I read it again... and in the first paragraph, "Bitcoin Board of Directors" is the one that hooked me... I was thinking that was referring to the Bitcoin Foundation; obviously not. It wouldn't matter then if the rest was smack then.... On to the day....
Did you know that the word "gullible" does not appear in the dictionary? and i just made up the word gullibility Gullibility - the ability to act gull like

Really?! Someone took this hilarious article seriously?
Who doesn't wake up on April 1st without thinking the for the rest of the entire day everything you read needs to get extra scrutiny.

gullibility - everyone who ever ordered a pre-order asic. yes, i'm guilty of this. Me too... Honestly, it looked like such a good idea in late Nov-early Dec. I wonder how many refunded. Sometimes I feel like a last one with batch#1 order (I refunded the second Neptune). At $13200+~$1500(electricity for 6mo of operation)=$14700, it is enough to purchase ~30 BTC today hassle free. The upside in mining is the miner itself. You might be able to mine 15, maybe 20 BTC in case of May delivery. The residual cost of miner (in $$ would depend on BTC price at sell point). You can return all $$ spent if you are lucky (BTC going up instead of down) plus keep BTC (minus taxes).

It's official, I'm no longer a KNC customer in waiting. My final refund arrived today. Well, the good thing about it all is I basically just got paid $30,000 for the 31BTC I sold back then.
So, recommendations. Antminer S2 or Spoondoodilies?

Mining at home or Colo? Well, actually, unless density is hugely important I'd go with the S2, but only after seeing some end-user reviews. I like the Spoondidler, but it's loud, pricing is prohibitive, and there's a pretty sizeable delay between order and receive. It's a really nice looking piece of HW though.

If BTC price keeps declining we will slam into a wall on difficulty in a not to distant future, I see a lot of fire-sales in the coming months unless the HW manufacturers are saved by another rally.

i was too tired to point out it was an obvious april fools report - but it was definitely believed by the 'special' among us.
i wonder what the chinese made of it - or if they even read coinbase.
im still holding on to my 'customer' humiliation batch 'neptune' but its getting harder to justify it.
also the litecoin payment system is not working, i tried to pay for a 'titan' with LTC but failed 4-5 times. i think its a sign - IE - dont bother.
i have one s1 on order and will probably get 1 more but that may be my last rig unless spondoolies start selling their 5TH from 'stock' and at a decent price!!
....................see if 'you' can find a reason to delete this one!!

I was about to buy ten S1s when BTC fell below 450 but realized I dont fee like adding 3600 kwh usage to my home you will make money after 3 months but nothing to scream about (except that they might be the ONLY hardware you can buy now and not piss your money away)

Power difference would be negligable in the grand scheme of things.

Hoping for some positive news on both the exchange and the S2/Spoondoodles front. VMC's trying to fire sale some HF hardware but I seriously couldn't bring myself to support HF let alone KSlaughter, that piece of work. I guess there's always the Dragon miner, but that whole situation is sketchy as hell.

in-stock is always preferable, I was looking at an S2 but i'm an OCD-suffering-paranoid-harbinger-of-doom - If I order an S2 and chinese customs decide to clamp down on outgoing miners come 12th april, there is the slim chance it'll never see any light past shenzen. (i'm actually predicting this to be a black arrow 'announcement' to advise they can't ship their rigs) tinfoil hat on. buying nothing from china until i can see deliveries out past the 12th.
