By the time you get your free unit the difficulty will have skyrocketed. Good luck.

Fuuuuuuck that. They can give out all the free Neptunes they want, by the time they ship nobody is breaking even. That's also after you've had fun figuring out how to power the fuckin' things. They've failed spectacularly this go around.

Wow so we will receive 2 Neptunes for the price of one... That's over 6 TH!!
I think I will have to upgrade the main fuses but it's a great gesture from KnC.
Let's see when you get your free stuff. HashFail hasn't shipped the promised MPP until now I don't assume that KnC won't ship their free stuff, but they will do it at the end of the line after they ship everything else and after they replace the Jupiters from their DC with Neptunes. Good luck.

Well good for those who still have Neptune orders! Us FrankenJup victims are most definitely NOT getting 2 for 1. I might be able to salvage some of my working ASICs once I get my replacement boards. But that means I have to buy more heatsink/fans, controller boards, PSU's, etc. I feel screwed on both ends!

I think the refund customers made the best choice. After that, the SuperJuper clients, because they can start THIS week. Beside this, SuperJuper clients shall never reach a ROI.
Neptune: End of June 3 TH in the cloud, and in august 6 TH in hand shall never generate a ROI.
Or the BTC must rise. That is our only hope to get our money back.

I ended up putting up the SP30 up for auction... I believe there will be a lucky person who will pay less than $0.01 per GH/s for 5.3 TH. http://devcoinauctions.com/blog/auction/sp30-yukon-august-batch-asic-miner-5-3ths/

Out of 36 boards only 6 looked usable and of those only 1 is actually working, 2 power up but show completely dead dies and the other 3 do nothing but look good. That sounds extremely worrying. That is like taking boards from the trash container and shipping to customers... Were the heatsinks only stuck onto the board by the thermal paste? Yup, except now they can claim all of the bad boards as damaged in shipment and get reimbursed by the shipping co./insurance, All the while mining on the equipment they should have sent. Brilliant. Bullshit, that would never fly. No insurance / shipping company is going to cover stupidity. KNC will have to eat 100% of this loss. bad thing is KNC loses nothing.....knc customers paid for the unit and the shipping.....and most units have probably been mined with so they probably paid for themselves 5x over, then they send us the bunk ones to kill time while the good ones are hashing away...then we they are ready they will ship out our BROKENJUP replacements. Weak KNC. WEAK!

Weak KNC. WEAK! Right they sent the non working junk for disorientation to kill time. Smart, but evil. That isn't true in my case. 13 of 18 ASICs work, albeit suboptimally. And with the carnage that was inside each case, it's amazing that 13 actually survived. I don't doubt that they were working ASICs when they were originally packed. And if they were used, they did a good job of removing any sign of dust.

These things were prevented in some degree in previous batches. What is happening to KnC? Did some employees left the company so quality control degrades so much? Yes, rats were leaving the sinking ship, looking for new ships not sinking yet anyway, I told them many times before that the heatsink mounting was bad, but this new design is basically a sabotage on the company. What did you expect witha company lead by a drunk?

And no, I'm not an abused KNC lover. Why do people feel the need to judge others on our decisions? I chose this option because it shipped fast and a refund was out of the question for me.
why is a refund out of the question for you? their ghs/btc is average at best.

The factory that produces the cards has been running over the weekend and we hope to have all the replacement cards sent out this week. I love this, that factory has been running 7 days a week at least since January. They've changed the board order page to allow for 500 per order and they show more than that in stock....

*** Latest news from KNC ***
All,
So last week we really messed up. We sent out products to our customers which arrived broken, damaged and quite frankly unusable.
So in order to fix this the best way we can. We are not asking for these products back from anyone who has received them already. We will simply assume that every card was damaged in shipment even if it arrived undamaged. We will send out to every customer who had a 3TH Jupiter or several already arrive, enough cards to replace their entire collection,
There is no way our customers should have to suffer because of our mistake in not properly securing the components during shipment. Any effected box in transit is being cancelled by UPS and returned to us to be fixed by our teams,
The factory that produces the cards has been running over the weekend and we hope to have all the replacement cards sent out this week.
Rather than spending more time than is absolutely necessary on this we are going to take the approach of the famous Swedish Furniture maker and ship the box with minimal self-assembly. An instruction video is being made today and will be available later for all to see. Again we are sorry for not delivering up to our own accepted standard,
Thanks
KnCMiner Team
Looks promising let's see how they go this round If that's even true/real they are just stalling for time. How can you possibly know you've sent out all those boxes and not aware of parts and pieces falling off of everything. They are %100 fully aware of what's going on and what they are doing. Go ahead, be a KNC fanboy. Praise them, get that brown nose going!

IDK, as a someone who purchased a Neptune with freroll money, I am very happy with this solution. Even though it is going to be difficult to set this up in my house, I really can't complain. I'll make ROI cause I'll mine the shit out of some garbage alt and cash out proper (ala TAK), plus I get a spare rig to give to my friend or ebay.

why is a refund out of the question for you? their ghs/btc is average at best. Maybe taxes? I know I kept my Neptune orders because getting a refund wired to my bank account would have really messed up my tax situation.
